“The
Age of Uncertainty”

Subject : Current
Controversies in the Alternative News Platforms.
Dear
Colleagues and Friends of CEIMSA,
We
were recently reminded of the dark humor which can serve to guide scientific skepticism
in opaque times of uncertainty: the fictitious etymology of the word “politics”
- [“poly” meaning many; and “ticks” – blood sucking parasites]. Or perhaps equally
germane in these times of exclusive decision making is the famous French axiom,
which warns us: “L'absent a toujours
tort.”
Below
please find 5+ items which have appeared in the Anglophone social media
recently and which cast serious doubt on official government narratives concerning
public policies and the well being of nations around the world in this period of
a global shift in power structures.
Sincerely,
Francis McCollum Feeley

“A Closed System”
https://off-guardian.org/2023/05/20/a-closed-system/
by Todd Hayen
There is
so much going on we don’t know about. Like I’ve said before, we definitely have
reached that critical point of being a “closed system.” The mainstream media
are all in on it, so they control the flow of information. No one knows what is
happening unless they literally see it or experience it.
It is
fascinating how if you don’t receive reliable information about what’s going
on, you really don’t know at all . . . even in your own neighbourhood.
Remember the Soviets would come and carry people away in an apartment building
and no one there would know, MAYBE one person, the person living next door, but
that’s it. They would just disappear. And only the people who KNEW them would
even know that.
There
could be people all around us dying, being persecuted for this or that, and no
one would know it. And then stuff happening in the next city, or in Europe…no
one knows ANYTHING reliable now unless they see it with their own eyes. Once a
free press is gone, we are totally blind. Very few people seem to know this or
accept it if they know it.
Obviously
some of us know more than others. That’s because we look for different news
sources other than NYT, CNN, WSJ or WP, or whatever other mainstream media that
inundates us with junk, untruths, and lies. We are lucky to still have
alternative news, and even that isn’t always reliable. The sheep have been
trained to believe the alternative news is all conspiracy, misinformation, and
hogwash at best. I won’t even say what they believe “at worst.”
The
brainwashing that has been going on for decades dictates that if information is
contrary to what the accepted authority says, then it is a conspiracy theory.
It is not even considered. For example, if someone says, “I don’t believe much the Washington Post
says because I think the people who own the Post [Bezos]
has their own self-interests as a priority.” Even though that statement
makes perfect sense, most people listening would say, “oh that’s ridiculous, you are a conspiracy theorist, that’s paranoid.”
Why? Have
these people ever read a history book? Is there some law, or police force, out
there that keeps newspapers (for one example) from going into the hands of
people who may have an agenda, even a personal one to become wealthy and
powerful? Is there something in place that would guarantee that would never
happen?
Of course
not, at least no rules that cannot be easily ignored. People certainly do not
have a problem believing Trump is conniving and deceiving. They have no problem
believing the Republican Party is conspiring to destroy democracy and the
Constitution of the United States. They have no problem believing that
everything Fox News reports is a lie and a slave to special interests. Why are
all these examples the ones to hate and not trust? That question does not have
an obvious answer; it is actually quite complicated. But the question should be
asked.
I’ve
talked about the news found in major newspapers and other major media being a
problem. I think most of us would agree with that. It is interesting, however,
just how big that problem has become. One thing I have noticed even from my
amateur sleuthing regarding mainstream media: they are quite selective in what
they report.
Sure, this
has always been an issue with mainstream news, they have all kinds of criteria
regarding what they believe is suitable for print in their pages. But it seems,
over time, that they have special interests regarding what they will print and
what they ignore. And pretty much they are all leaving out very important
stories that do not fit into their narrative.
As the
days flip on by, the United States, and most of the “free world,” has been
slowly becoming a closed system. Other, obvious, closed systems of the past
include the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, Communist China, and a plethora of
other “not so free” nations. This means that the only reliable information
outside of our personal inner circle can only be had through alternative media,
which is not very well funded, and often does not have access to news as the
big boys have. I have to say alternative media does a damn good job considering
these obvious restrictions. Just imagine what information we would have at our
fingertips if these journalists had the funding to really get out there and get
the news.

“Censorship at the American
Psychological Association”
https://scheerpost.com/2023/05/22/censorship-at-the-american-psychological-association/
by Roy Eidelson
The publishing
process in academic psychology journals isn’t typically known for its drama or
intrigue. It’s true that there can be frustrations and challenges for aspiring
authors. These include obtaining timely feedback from peer reviewers;
adequately addressing often-disparate concerns and revision recommendations;
and waiting the many months that frequently elapse between submitting a
manuscript and its hoped-for publication. Nevertheless, there’s little doubt
that articles published in reputable scientific journals play an essential role
in advancing our understanding of human behavior.
Sometimes,
however, a manuscript can become ensnared by behind-the-scenes maneuvering and
decision-making that have little to do with the merits of the article itself.
In such cases, non-scholarly considerations supersede the well-established
guideposts of impartial peer review and unbiased evaluation of a submission’s
worthiness for publication. That was apparently the unfortunate fate of “A Military/Intelligence Operational Perspective on the American
Psychological Association’s Weaponization of
Psychology Post-9/11.” This article’s circuitous journey bears
recounting here as a cautionary tale for the profession and for the APA.
Written by
my colleague Jean Maria Arrigo and five co-authors,
four of whom are retired military-intelligence officers, “A
Military/Intelligence Operational Perspective” thoughtfully examines two deeply
problematic aspects of the APA’s connection to the so-called war on terror. The
first is the damage suffered by psychological science when psychological
knowledge is used as a weapon of coercion, manipulation, and humiliation. The
second is the adverse consequences that arise when the US security sector
employs covert influence tactics against professional civil society
organizations.
The
troubling history of the APA’s post-9/11 collaboration with the US Department
of Defense and the CIA has been extensively detailed elsewhere. The briefest of
summaries would highlight the APA’s years-long support for psychologists’ involvement in detainee detention and
interrogation operations despite credible reports of abuse; the 2015 independent review (familiarly known as the Hoffman Report) that concluded APA leaders
repeatedly took steps to preserve this involvement despite growing outrage
within the profession and among human rights advocates; and the independent
review’s aftermath, which saw key ethics reforms instituted at the APA but
also ongoing defamation lawsuits from individuals who’ve claimed they were maligned in the Hoffman
Report.

This testimony by Rodney Palmer is a MUST-SEE not just for all Canadians, but for anyone, worldwide, who wants to know exactly how a free press turns—is turned—into its opposite :

Soon after we started tracking the reports of people “dying suddenly” worldwide, we noticed that Canada’s “free press”—the commercial press and CBC alike—appeared to be suppressing such reports, by contrast with the “free press” in the US and elsewhere. Throughout the world (as we have shown), the “free press” has blacked out all evidence that “vaccination” may be having deadly consequences, while vilifying those who’ve called attention to such evidence; but Canada’s “free press” has gone much farther than the media in (say) the US, UK, Germany, Spain, Italy, India and Russia; for those media have been reporting “sudden deaths” per se, albeit incompletely and misleadingly—while Canada’s “free press” blacks out such stories as completely as the CCP’s news media in China.
This blackout (also apparent in New Zealand) is especially striking, since—as we’ve been making clear week after week—Canadians have been dropping dead, from coast to coast, often with no cause of death reported, or due to untimely heart attacks, strokes or cardiac arrest, or sudden “rare,” aggressive cancers. In this regard it is enlightening to compare the news in Canada with the output by the Italian media, which generally reports such deaths in great detail, and with especial pathos. Although the many deaths in Canada have surely been more catastrophic than the many deaths in Italy, what with Canada’s much smaller population, Canadians who credulously read and watch their “news” have no idea what’s happening in, and to, their country. (As readers of this Substack know, our research team in Canada, like our researchers in New Zealand, rely primarily on the obituaries published by funeral homes.)

These two pieces go into detail on the grim demographic trend in Canada and Britain. (We need similar analyses of the trend in NZ and Australia, since the "Five Eyes" seem to be especially hard hit)
