Subject: The Construction of
Power Pyramids in Class-Divided Societies: On Discipline, Obedience, and
Prioritized Perceptions of Self-Interest.
Dear Colleagues and Friends of CEIMSA,
Capitalist society is polluted with the widespread belief that quantitative measures are superior to qualitative evaluations; the hallmark fallacy of contemporary dissidents in this cultural environment is the notion that they must recruit supporters in ever larger numbers, whereas accurate analyses would provide the necessary base for a movement to grow in political strength. There is simply no alternative to the truth, and, to coin a cliché, “the truth shall make you free” regardless of the cognitive experimentations financed by the ruling class. The popular movement when it matures will be multi-polar, but it will be based on the legitimate complaints that serve to unite us. This is the job of “organic” leadership. In this process, opportunists and careerists will simply ring hollow and collapse from within, from attempting to follow two masters. Popular solidarity is a qualitative issue and in the long run cannot be faked.
Such unmasking requires a knowledge of history . . . .
The following 19 + items are taken mostly from the alternative Anglophone social media, which for the most part challenge the ahistorical received ideas produced by corporate media and other professional propagandists, whose job it is to beguile us. Corporate capitalist crimes are part of the public record, and by creating a mental fog and sufficient distractions to withhold the popular learning of historical lessons, this class can pursue its interests unimpeded, assured by the repetition of classic mistakes that serve to perpetuate the gross inequalities and injustices from which they are major the beneficiaries.
Thus, with the dissolution of class consciousness, our minds are populated by specters of all kinds, which produce conservative and often reactionary predispositions in the general population. They become their own worst enemies.
Sincerely,
Francis McCollum Feeley

A Review of
Plutocracy: Class War from Metanoia Films
In 2017 the United States finds itself
with a billionaire president who defeated, as adjudged by electoral college
votes, the multimillionaire Hillary Clinton. In fact, high political office in the
US has become a stepping stone to personal enrichment. Barack Obama is cashing in now with exorbitant book deals and speaking fees.
It is highly
illustrative of the divide between the working masses and the 1%-ers of Wall Street who effectively own the American
political system. The politicians know the voters want change, but they also
know who butters their bread. Empty campaign promises are followed by endless
betrayals.
While the
common folk fight asymmetrical US wars far from American shores, the fat cat
Wall Street investors profit from the violence. It is nothing new. In the
introduction to Scott Noble’s Plutocracy:
Class War we find 19th century president Rutherford B. Hayes writing in
his diary that the United States had become a government “of corporations, by
corporations and for corporations.”
Noble is a
brilliant thinker and excellent filmmaker. Working with the tightest of budgets
he has produced several significant documentaries on power relations and the
human condition – all available at Metanoia Films for free
viewing. Metanoia’s recent release is the third
installment of the Plutocracy series. It is set around the period of the First
World War, a time of unprecedented labor unrest and state repression.
Class War begins in Ludlow, Colorado with the
massacre instigated by the robber baron J.D. Rockefeller using the Colorado
National Guard. Troops machine gunned a tent city
housing striking coal miners and their families then set fire to the camp.
Eleven children, two women and ten miners were killed. The Ludlow Massacre
epitomizes how government has used violence at the behest of wealthy industrialists
against the working class.
Class War tells the tale of the Industrial Workers
of the World (IWW), known as the Wobblies. The Wobblies were an anarcho-syndicalist union open to all
skill levels, races, and sexes. Such progressivism was met with state violence,
including the use of torture. Frightened of their appeal to poor workers,
several states banned Wobblies from public speaking.
As activist
Brian Jones explains in the film, the Wobblies were
“unwilling to accept terms of exploitation.” They devised innovative tactics
such as sit-down strikes and revolving picket lines. This was an unacceptable
challenged to the owner class. The organs of the state, police, security
forces, and the so-called justice system were bent to the cause of the robber
barons.
Class War tells of Joe Hill, an IWW-union
organizer and popular singer, song-writer. Among his songs was “Preacher and
Slave” – a response to the Salvation Army preaching docility to workers.
Eventually Hill was tried for the murder of a grocer and executed by firing
squad. The evidence implicating Hill was flimsy at best. According to the film,
the more likely culprit was a petty criminal named Magnus Olsen, who went on to
serve as a bodyguard for the gangster Al Capone.
Class War tells many stories of men and women who
resisted the oppression of the age. Along with Joe Hill, we learn of Mother
Jones, Lucy Parsons, Helen Keller, Frank Little, Emma Goldman, Alexander Berkman, Rosa Luxemburg, Anna Louise Strong and more. The
fight for the dignity of labor was vast.
When a
movement becomes large, the age-old tactic is to divide it. The advent of WWI
provided the state with such a divisive tool. The IWW was anti-war, but president Woodrow Wilson secured the volte-face of the
American Federation of Labor whose union head Samuel Gompers was offered a
government advisory position. Gompers was anti-IWW and an anti-socialist. This
eased the government’s push for US entry into WWI. In his book The Great Class War 1914-1918,
historian Jacques R. Pauwels compellingly paints WWI as a class-war instrument.
Anti-war
socialist Eugene Debs noted that workers were the chattel for wars. He captured
the public sentiment such that, in 1916, one group of Nebraska citizens
petitioned for a constitutional amendment whereby any politician casting a vote
for war would be required to volunteer for war duty. Needless to say, the
petition failed.

At What Point Should the US
Government be Considered Illegitimate?
https://www.globalresearch.ca/what-point-should-us-government-considered-illegitimate/5822569
by Ben Bartee
On
December 16, 1773, off the Boston coast, irate American colonists, fed up with
paying excessive tax rates and getting political abuse from their colonial
masters in return, flooded
the sea with 342 chests of British East India Company tea.
It was a
glorious symbolic act of defiance. War ensued, and eventually the patriots,
once in the extreme minority among the total colonial population, were
vindicated.
The rallying
cry of the revolutionary movement was “no
taxation without representation,” meaning that the colonists were subjected
to taxation to fuel the British Empire’s expensive adventures across the globe,
but did not enjoy any real political representation in British Parliament for
it.
Does modern
America suffer from the same phenomenon?
I have
previously referenced a 2014
study published via Cambridge University Press that quantitatively
debunks the “democracy” myth that American children are force-fed in public
school:
“When a
majority of citizens disagrees with economic elites and/or with organised interests, they generally lose. Moreover, because
of the strong status quo bias built into the US political system, even when
fairly large majorities of Americans favour policy
change, they generally do not get it… average citizens and mass-based
interest groups have little or no independent influence [over US policy].”

“What is to be done about the Censorship Industrial
Complex?”
by CJ Hopkins
So I have been
thinking about the “Censorship Industrial
Complex,” that network of governments, corporations, NGOs,
Intelligence agencies, corporate and state media, and self-appointed
“disinformation experts” that are gradually, subtly, and often not so subtly,
turning our world into an Orwellian dystopia.
I have been thinking
about what is to be done about it.
I’m going to be in London again next week. I’m attending
this event where Michael Shellenberger, Matt Taibbi, and Russell Brand will be talking about the
Censorship Industrial Complex, and what is to be done about it. I’ll also be
meeting with some colleagues in London (you know, like, for tea, or whatever),
and we are also going to talk about it, and what is to be done about it.
So I’ve been trying to get my thoughts together so that I
can make a semi-coherent argument for what is to be done about it, and offer
something halfway practical for once instead of just depressing everyone by
describing how dystopian everything is.
I’m not terribly good at making such arguments. My
thoughts tend to be … well, not very practical. Keep reading, and you’ll see
what I mean.
Before you do, though, if you’re going to be in London or
the vicinity of London, and you can afford the ticket, consider attending the
event on Thursday. It’s certain to be informative, and probably entertaining. Details on the event are here.
Michael Shellenberger, in
addition to his groundbreaking reporting for his Substack
outfit, Public, and his reporting on the “Twitter Files,” and his
testimony with Matt Taibbi before that Kafkaesque US congressional committee, has also been thinking about the Censorship
Industrial Complex, and what is to be
done about it. Michael coined the term, in fact. You can read about some of his
ideas here, or, if you can’t
afford a Public subscription,
you can listen to them in his interviews online. Which, you should. He’s
extremely smart and knowledgeable.
I did that, and it started me thinking. It started me
thinking about the nature of the problem, and the type of censorship we are
dealing with these days, a lot of which is not old-fashioned censorship, but,
rather, is “visibility filtering,” and
other types of manipulation of our perception of the news, and facts … and
reality.
I’m still developing and refining this argument, but I
think I’ve gotten down to the core of it, or somewhere in the neighborhood of
the core of it.
It is an argument about private versus public space.
And the capture of public space by corporations.
And our surrender of public space to corporations.
I think the essence of the argument is
...
We, the people, have a right to a public communications
space on the Internet.
A space on the scale of major platforms like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc.
A space governed by the people, not by corporations.
Such a space does not exist.
In the absence of such a public space, corporate
platforms have become that space.
Imagine a California or a Florida or a South of France
with no public beaches, or a New York City with no public parks.
This is the territory we exist in on the Internet.
A territory in which we have no say about the rules.
Because the entire territory is privately owned.
We do not tolerate this in the physical world … yet.
Why do we tolerate it on the Internet?
Yes, I am aware that there is a deep web.
That’s not what I’m talking about.
I’m talking about “the Internet” that most people use.
The following is not a solution to the broader problem
(i.e., the privatization of our public space), but maybe it’s a start in that
direction. In our increasingly privatized, global-capitalist world, we are
losing, or perhaps have already lost, our belief in our inalienable rights, and
our power, and our very existence as “the people,” which is, after all, the
foundation of democracy.
No, I do not trust governments any more than I trust
corporations, but, as long as at least a semblance (or a simulation) of
democracy exists, it is democratic government that represents us as “the
people” and keeps alive the concept of the “public.” If we’re ever going to
have a chance of taking back control of our governments from the global
corporations, oligarchs, and other unaccountable entities that currently own
them, we need to keep the concept of the public alive and not surrender to the
inevitability of a completely privatized world.
That’s the logic underlying my argument.

“People’s Brains and Bodies Are Not Protected Against Attacks by
Electromagnetic Waves and Neurotechnologies”
by Mojmir Babacek
The sixth generation of cell phone telephony plans to
connect human brains to the internet
Samuel Koslov, a leading
personality of American Navy’s project Pandora and researcher at the John
Hopkins University, in his closing speech at the conference on Nonlinear
Electrodynamics in Biological Systems in 1983, said that the conference had
proven that the external electric fields can ”become a key to
cellular control … The implications, social, economic, and even military
are enormous… it may be more significant to the nation than the
prospects that faced the physics community in 1939 when the long-time predicted
fissionability of the nucleus was actually demonstrated“. People do not really
know what he was talking about until today, since much of it is classified and
used in weapons research.
The human body is full of electrical and electromagnetic
events and therefore can be controlled by electromagnetic radiation, which can
have benign as well as harmful effects on its states. It may control even such
events as is cell division or activity of neurons, as well as synchronized activity of masses of neurons
in the brain and in this way produce “artificial“ activity
of the human nervous system.
In 2021 the International Bioethics Committee (IBC) of
UNESCO wrote: „External tools that may interfere with our decisions can call
into question, or even challenge, an individual’s free will, and consequently
an individual’s responsibilities. In this way, neurotechnology
could affect freedom of thought, decision-making and action. Taken
together, these could have a
profound impact on justice systems and social organizations” (pg. 36).
At the end of the article IBC encourages its member states „to guarantee neurorights of their citizens” (pg.38).
The activity of human brains and bodies can be
manipulated by electromagnetic waves, since electric currents are key factors
of neural and muscle activity. As early as 1962 sounds were produced in human
brains by microwaves pulsed in the frequencies of the nervous activity of the human
auditory systems. In 2007, the
Washington Post wrote about a
declassified experiment:
“In October 1994 at the Air Force laboratory… scientists
were able to transmit sentences into the heads of human subjects, albeit with
marginal intelligibility”.
In 2020, the American
Academy of Sciences wrote in the report
on attacks of American diplomats in Cuba and China, well known as the Havana
syndrome, that the most likely cause of their problems was directed pulsed
radio frequency waves. It is well known that these attacks are accompanied by
artificially produced acoustic hallucinations. Those events suggest that pulsed
microwaves are already being used as a weapon today. As a matter of fact,
if human speech is converted into ultrasound and then into pulsed
microwaves or extra- long electromagnetic waves, a human being will perceive
them as his own thoughts, since it will not hear it.

“Flash Back to the ‘Deadly 2009 H1N1 Swine Flu Pandemic.’ And then Flash
Forward to Covid 2020.”
https://www.globalresearch.ca/what-sharyl-attkisson-told-me-about-2009-pandemic/5822606
April 16, 2020 [America in ‘lockdown’: Day
34.]
The CDC would never launch a fake epidemic;
certainly not…
And meet our old
friend, Dr. Anthony Fauci,
in another context…
History matters.
So I take you back to the summer of 2009, when the CDC
and the World Health Organization were hyping the “deadly H1N1 Swine Flu
pandemic.”
They were, of course, also urging people to take the new
Swine Flu vaccine. On that subject, here is an excerpt from Robert Kennedy Jr.’s Children’s Health Defense (3/27/20):
“For example, [Dr. Anthony] Fauci
once shilled for the fast-tracked H1N1 influenza
(‘swine flu’) vaccine on YouTube, reassuring viewers in 2009 that serious
adverse events were ‘very, very, very rare.’ Shortly thereafter, the vaccine
went on to wreak havoc in multiple countries, increasing miscarriage risks in
pregnant women in the U.S., provoking a spike in adolescent narcolepsy in
Scandinavia and causing febrile convulsions in one in every 110 vaccinated
children in Australia—prompting the latter to suspend its influenza vaccination
program in under-fives.”
Thank you. Dr. Fauci. Explain
to us why you haven’t been downgraded to pumping gas in Death Valley or sent to
prison?
Back to the Swine Flu pandemic. In the summer of 2009, the CDC was claiming there were
thousands of cases in the US. But behind these statistics lay an unnerving
secret. A crime, considering the CDC’s mandate to report the truth to the
American people:
Secretly, the CDC had stopped counting cases of Swine
Flu.
What? Why?
CBS investigative reporter, Sharyl Attkisson,
discovered the CDC secret; and she found out why.
The routine testing of tissue samples from the most
likely Swine Flu patients was coming back, in the overwhelming percentage of
cases, with: NO SIGN OF SWINE FLU OR ANY OTHER KIND OF FLU.
Attkisson wrote an article about this scandal,
and it was published on the CBS News website. However, the next, bigger
step—putting out the story on CBS television news—was waylaid. No deal. And CBS
shut down any future investigation on the subject. Attkisson’s
article died on the vine. No other major news outlet in the world picked up her
article and ran with it deeper into the rabbit hole.
Here is what Attkisson told me when I interviewed her:
Rappoport: In 2009, you spearheaded
coverage of the so-called Swine Flu pandemic. You discovered that, in the
summer of 2009, the Centers for Disease Control, ignoring their federal
mandate, [secretly] stopped counting Swine Flu cases in America. Yet they
continued to stir up fear about the “pandemic,” without having any real measure
of its impact. Wasn’t that another investigation of yours that was shut down?
Wasn’t there more to find out?
Attkisson: The implications of the story were even worse
than that. We discovered through our FOI efforts that before the CDC
mysteriously stopped counting Swine Flu cases, they had learned that almost
none of the cases they had counted as Swine Flu was,
in fact, Swine Flu or any sort of flu at all! The interest in the story from
one [CBS] executive was very enthusiastic. He said it was “the most original
story” he’d seen on the whole Swine Flu epidemic. But others pushed to stop it
[after it was published on the CBS News website] and, in the end, no [CBS
television news] broadcast wanted to touch it. We aired numerous stories
pumping up the idea of an epidemic, but not the one that would shed original,
new light on all the hype. It was fair, accurate, legally approved and a heck
of a story. With the CDC keeping the true Swine Flu stats secret, it meant that
many in the public took and gave their children an experimental vaccine that
may not have been necessary.
—end of interview excerpt—
So…fake pandemic, CDC crimes, and a damaging vaccine.
But that wasn’t end of it. The CDC wanted to commit
another crime. About three weeks after Attkisson’s
findings were published on the CBS News website, the CDC, obviously in a panic,
decided to double down. If one lie is exposed, tell an even bigger one. A much bigger one.
Here, from a November 12, 2009, WebMD article is the
CDC’s response: “Shockingly, 14 million to 34 million U.S. residents — the
CDC’s best guess is 22 million — came down with H1N1 swine flu by Oct. 17
[2009].” (“22
million cases of Swine Flu in US,” by Daniel J. DeNoon).
Are your eyeballs popping? They should be.
Fast forward to 2020. Who in his right mind, armed with a little history,
would believe anything the CDC is saying about COVID-19? The case numbers, the
accuracy of the diagnostic tests, the need for lockdowns and economic
devastation, the safety and importance of a vaccine, the fear porn?
Only a fool.

Graphene COVID Kill Shots: Let the Evidence Speak for Itself
https://www.globalresearch.ca/graphene-covid-kill-shots-let-evidence-speak-itself/5763418
by Dr. Ariyana
Love
First published by Global Research on December 5, 2021
I compiled all the evidence we have into this article that prove Graphene Oxide, Graphene
Hydroxide and other Graphene variants are in fact
being injected into people by governments and Big Pharma.
This evidence was discovered and proven numerous times already by
independent research teams, scientists, Biotech whistleblowers and the few
ethical Journalists remaining.
There’s a concerted effort by the pharmaceutical cartel funded “fact
checkers,” Big Tech platforms and mainstream media, to hide the evidence and
slander the people bringing this to light.
Once you go over the evidence provided here, you must take action for the
safety of you and your families.
Serve all war criminals participating in this COVID death jab program
with a Notice of Liability for the murders they are committing.
This is definitive action that any person can take, worldwide.
The notices are already drafted by legal teams so why not use them and
let our enemies be on the defensive. The criminals will be reminded of the
Nuremberg trials, and informed that they will be brought to justice. They need
to cease and desist from acting knowingly and willfully in mandating “vaccine”
death jabs and enforcing them. The evidence to the danger is clear and deaths
have been proven. Anyone administering or mandating these “vaccine” kill shots
are doing so without Informed Consent.
Compilation of Evidence
On November 2nd, a prominent Professor at the University of Almeria, Dr.
Pablo Campra, revealed his detection of Graphene in multiple Covid-19 “vaccine”
vials, using Micro-Raman Spectroscopy. The Dr. Campra’s
University of Almeria report demonstrated the detection of Graphene and Graphene Oxide in 8 samples from various “vaccine”
manufacturers.
In response, Dr. Andreas Noack released
a scathing video commenting on Dr. Campra’s report.
Dr. Noack is a chemist and the world’s leading expert
in activated carbon engineering and GRAPHENE. Dr. Noack
did his PhD doctoral thesis on how to turn Graphene
Oxide into Graphene Hydroxide.
The video is of crucial importance. Dr. Noack
said that two of the frequency bands that Dr. Campra
detected were of Graphene Hydroxide. Graphene
Hydroxide (GHO) is a mono-layer activated carbon, 50nm long and 0.1nm thick
(an atom layer thick). Thus, the injections contain nano-razorblades
of exceptional stability, which are non-biodegrable
(a fact that every chemist knows).
In effect, these nano-razorblades cut up and
destroy the heart, brain and cardiovascular system. The epithelial cells become
rough so things stick to them. He says that toxicologists cannot find them in a
petri dish by normal methods as they do not move and
they don’t expect to discover nano-sized razor
blades. Moreover, any doctor who injects them with knowledge of this issue, is a murderer.
Graphene Hydroxide is a
new material and toxicologists aren’t aware of it yet. This is why people are
dropping dead from these lethal shots, especially athletes, Dr. Noack explains. This is a “highly intelligent poison”.
What’s even more horrifying is that if you perform an autopsy you will
not find anything. This stealth weapon
is even untraceable after death. The Graphene
Hydroxide nano-razerblades cause people to bleed to
death internally.
“Even if people don’t drop dead immediately, it cuts up the blood vessels
little by little… I can say as a chemist that we are absolutely certain that
the Graphene Hydroxide is in there… as a chemist, if
you inject this into the blood, you know you are a murderer.”

The Covid “Killer Vaccine”. People Are Dying All Over the World. It’s A Criminal Undertaking
by Prof Michel Chossudovsky
First published on November 26, 2022
We are being accused of “spreading
disinformation” regarding the Covid-19 vaccine.
The Reuters and AP media “trackers” and “fact checkers” will be out to
smear the testimonies of parents who have lost their children.
“Once the Lie becomes the Truth, there is no moving backwards. Insanity
prevails. The world is turned upside down.”
Let us be under no illusions, the Covid Jab is
not only “experimental”, it’s a Big Pharma “killer
vaccine” which modifies the human genome. The evidence of
mortality and morbidity resulting from vaccine inoculation both present
(official data) and future (e.g. undetected microscopic blood clots) is
overwhelming.
The official data (mortality and morbidity) as well as
numerous scientific studies confirm the nature of the Covid-19 mRNA
vaccine which is being imposed on all humanity.
Peer reviewed reports confirm the causes of
vaccine related deaths and “adverse events” (injuries) including among others
blood clots, thrombosis, myocarditis, cardiac
arrests.
The stated objective is to enforce the Worldwide vaccination of 8 billion
people in more than 190 countries, to be followed by the imposition of a
digitized “vaccine passport”. Needless to say this is a multi-billion
dollar operation for Big Pharma. It’s a crime against
humanity.
The global vaccine project entitled COVAX is coordinated Worldwide
by the WHO, GAVI, CEPI, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation
in liaison with the World Economic Forum (WEF), the Wellcome Trust, DARPA and Big Pharma
which is increasingly dominated by the Pfizer-GSK partnership established
barely four months before the onset of the Covid-19 crisis in early January
2020.

First German Lawsuit Brought Against BioNTech
Over COVID-19 Vaccine Side Effects
by Paul Anthony Taylor
Biotech firm BioNTech is facing a lawsuit filed
by a German woman over side effects she suffered after receiving its mRNA-based
COVID-19 vaccine.
The woman, a healthcare worker whose identity remains private under
German privacy laws, is claiming at least €150,000 ($164,000) in damages for
bodily harm and compensation for material damage. She reports experiencing
upper-body pain, swollen extremities, fatigue, and sleeping disorders after
receiving the vaccine. The case, the first of potentially hundreds in Germany,
is being heard by the regional court in Hamburg.
The woman’s lawyer says he intends to challenge the positive risk-benefit
analysis given to the BioNTech injection by European
Union (EU) regulators and German vaccine assessment bodies. Under German
pharmaceutical law, vaccine manufacturers are only liable for damages if it can
be shown that the shots cause disproportionate harm relative
to their claimed benefits, or if labeling information is incorrect.
BioNTech, which
developed its vaccine with Pfizer and holds the marketing authorization for the
product in Germany, predictably claims that the woman’s case lacks merit. The
position of the European Medicines Agency is that the BioNTech
vaccine has a very low incidence of side effects. A recent study sharply contradicts this, however, confirming that mRNA COVID-19
vaccines are associated with more serious harms than originally thought.
As some of the EU’s bulk purchase agreements with COVID-19 vaccine makers
reportedly include liability waivers, the BioNTech
lawsuit raises important questions regarding responsibility for legal costs and
compensation. Observers suggest that in cases brought in EU countries,
governments, and ultimately therefore taxpayers, could be forced to bear the
payment of any damages.
A growing number of lawsuits
The German case is one of a growing number of COVID-19 vaccine lawsuits
being filed around the world.

Ukraine: What

A plea for outcome-focused discussions about the war in Ukraine.
On Friday,
Brian Gerrish of UK Column joined Jesse Zurawell on his TNT
radio program to discuss how Russia’s Special Military Operation in Ukraine is
reported (both in mainstream and alternative media), and in what ways this
coverage might affect our perceptions of this conflict.
You can listen to their chat here.
First, I want
to say that I think they both did a great service to the “alternative media
ecosystem”. They hold very different views about this war, and their
conversation, on the whole, was civil and respectful. I hope similar dialogues
will be organized in the future, in an attempt to bounce ideas off each other,
and find common ground on this very contentious and divisive topic.
This blog
post, which is extremely long (sorry, but there was no other way), is my
response to their discussion. Actually, it is an attempt to answer a question
that they touched on, but didn’t expand upon, possibly due to time constraints.
Most of their
talk focused on casualty figures, and what they may (or may not) tell us about
the progression of this war, and who is “winning”. The reason for this is that
Jesse, in a Telegram post, criticized UK Column’s
coverage of the conflict (which places a lot of emphasis on casualty numbers),
and Brian requested an opportunity to respond to this criticism.
To summarize their discussion: Brian believes these
figures (which, we must point out, are difficult to independently verify, but
can certainly be estimated using various techniques) are of the highest
importance, and conclusively show that Ukrainians are being slaughtered for no
good reason, constituting a horrific crime perpetrated by Kiev and its
Washington/NATO sponsors.
Jesse, on the other hand, questions the relevance of
these figures (partly due to how difficult they are to verify), but also
because they may not be the best way to gauge who is really “winning”—an argument
we will return to shortly.
I would like to briefly address Brian’s perspective
about the importance of casualty numbers.

How Ukraine Has Become a Magnet for Western Neo-Nazis
https://www.globalresearch.ca/how-ukraine-has-become-magnet-western-neo-nazis/5822568
by Iain Muir
At the end of
April, two French neo-Nazis – Alan Vineron and
Guillaume Andreoni – who had
joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine as mercenaries,
were arrested and convicted in their home country. Two months earlier, one of
them had posted photos of three executed Russian prisoners on social media.
However, Vineron
and Andreoni were detained not because of any war
crimes, but for attempting to smuggle weapons and munitions back home,
including rifle scopes and magazines for machine guns. After a brief trial,
they were sentenced to 15 months in prison each, nine of them to be served
conditionally.
This incident is only the first sign
of things to come. According
to French media, about 400 French citizens are
taking part in the armed conflict in Ukraine. Of these, about 100 are directly
involved in the fighting, and about 30 are well-known far-right
extremists.
It’s not just Paris that will soon face the prospect of militant
neo-Nazis returning home. Observers note that
the number of volunteer foreign fighters in Ukraine has reached
thousands.
The French and their ‘adventures’ in Ukraine
According to the
French media outlet Mediapart, France’s General
Directorate for Internal Security had its eye on the suspects long before the
incident. Despite this, they were detained only thanks to a random check at
customs.
Vineron (also known as “Vivi”)
is a retired fighter of the elite French Chasseurs Alpins
(Alpine Hunters) unit. He was dismissed from the army after his neo-Nazi views came
to light in the media. Shortly before returning home, he posted a photo on the
“TrackANaziMerc” Telegram channel, showing three
Russian soldiers shot in the head. The image shows that the soldiers were
unarmed and killed at close range. After the photos of the execution began
circulating online, Russia’s Investigative Committee announced that it
would examine the crimes of French mercenaries against Russian prisoners of war
in Ukraine.
Vineron’s accomplice,
known as “Bones” by his military callsign, was also
previously linked to a far-right neo-Nazi group which has long-standing ties
with Ukrainian extremists.
The “Zouaves
Paris” group – it ironically derives its name from the Berber tribe Zwawa, which in turn became known as the French army’s
first “indigenous” regiment – supported Ukraine and established contact with
local fighters from the neo-Nazi Azov regiment. In December 2019, the leader of
the far-right group, Marc de Cacqueray-Valmenier, traveled
to the country to personally meet Azov fighters and visit their training camp.
In January 2022, a month before the
start of Russia’s military operation, Zouaves Paris
was banned in France. However, its ties with Ukrainian extremists had nothing
to do with the ban – a month earlier, the group
had attacked anti-racism
demonstrators who tried to disrupt a far-right rally in support of presidential
candidate Eric Zemmour.
The ban did not particularly affect the neo-Nazis. Zouaves
Paris supporters from the “Ouest Casual” Telegram
channel are still singing the praises of Ukrainian fighters and are using Nazi
symbols and phrases alluding to various far-right movements in France and
Germany. In their posts, they refer to Russian troops as “the Asian hordes of Soviet imperialism that
have once again taken over Europe,” and to Chechen units as
“Putin’s Muslim dogs.” They use similar duplicate channels to raise funds for
the needs of militants and collaborate with neo-Nazis from other countries.

The group
boasts of its presence in Ukraine, posting photos of its Ukrainian supporters and stickers of French
right-wing organizations. It has also created backup platforms in case the main
Telegram channel is blocked.

War Spreads,
Democracy Sinks
https://www.globalresearch.ca/war-spreads-democracy-sinks/5822017
by Manlio Dinucci
The resurgent
Nazism in Ukraine poses a threat to all of Europe.
“Nazi Symbols
on Ukraine’s Front Lines Highlight Thorny Issues of History”, writes the New
York Times. Many of the Ukrainian soldiers — trained by NATO and equipped with
increasingly powerful weapons systems such as the German Leopard tank — wear
Nazi emblems on their uniforms. “Ukrainian Troops’ use of patches bearing Nazi
emblems – comments the NYT – risks fueling Russian propaganda and
spreading imagery that the West has spent a half-century trying to eliminate.
In Ukraine –
where all political parties except the one in power have been outlawed and all
media are under strict state control – a media group, owned by a neo-Nazi
oligarch supporter of Zelensky, has launched a public
poll on the topic “Which Russian journalist should be killed next?” It thus
heralds the preparation of further assassinations after those of Daria Dughina and other
journalists. The media group – which cooperates with the BBC, Der Spiegel and other Western newspapers-publishes a list
of Russian journalists to be assassinated, including the editor-in-chief of
Russia Today and TV news anchors. At the same time the Ukrainian Security
Service, in the hands of neo-Nazis, goes after “Internet agitators” who are
arrested if they publish any criticism of the government.
The resurgent
Nazism in Ukraine poses a threat to all of Europe, warns the US-based
investigative journalism site Grayzone at the
conclusion of a well-documented investigation.
The total
number of foreign Nazi fighters in Ukraine is unknown, but it is probably very
high. Returning to their countries, they will bring with them battlefield
experience and, in many cases, elite Western military training. High-level weapons
and ammunition will be available in abundance on the black market, thanks to
massive arms shipments to Kiev over the course of the conflict. “It is hard to
imagine,” Grayzone writes: “It is hard to imagine
that Western intelligence officials are not aware that the powder keg they
created in Kiev could erupt on their own soil. However, it also appears clear
they have taken a vow of omerta on the issue”.

NATO – All
Was for Nothing
by Karsten Riise
Many of you
have probably seen that even the Washington Post is admitting to complete failure
for Ukraine, NATO, and the US in their so-called “counteroffensive”.
More than a
week after the start of Ukraine’s much-hyped counteroffensive, which Kyiv and
its Western supporters say will push the Russian invaders back to pre-invasion
lines, there are signs that Ukraine is unlikely to achieve lightning gains.
Russia’s
military failures last year created a misperception of weakness. Offensive
operations are far more difficult and attacking armies suffer far more
casualties than the defending side.
“The Russians
are fighting on well-prepared positions and have accumulated a sufficient
amount of artillery ammunition, plus they have more drones… ”
“There are so
many minefields in front of positions and many kilometers away from them, on
the roads, in the fields, and it’s really difficult,”
Read also: Grim
Outlook for Ukraine
“And a lot of Ukrainian breaching equipment has been
destroyed already, so trying to cut through all these mines is a real
challenge. That’s the first line of defense.”
Then come the drones.
Pro-war Russian bloggers and reporters have gleefully posted video clips of
Lancet drones smashing Western materiel on a near-daily basis over the past two
weeks.
Russian forces are also using aviation more actively.
President Vladimir Putin boldly asserted that Ukraine’s
combat losses were “ten times higher” than Russia’s casualties.
“I don’t see panic anywhere on the Russian lines.”
Ukrainian army is still facing its main test:
breaking through to Russian lines and persevering in large-scale infantry
fighting.
See this: [https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2023/06/18/russia-counteroffensive-ukraine-war-aviation/]
In other
words:
Ukraine is
being hammered by drones, by air attacks, by artillery, led to their
destruction through enormous minefields which they cannot clear – and after two
weeks of enormous losses and useless efforts, Ukraine hasn’t even once broken
into Russia’s first line of defensive positions. And all this in spite of NATO
having given Ukraine everything they could in advanced equipment (Leopard 2,
Challengers, Bradleys, M777, Storm Shadow), in NATO
training, NATO officers on the ground (several killed in Russian airstrikes),
US military AI software like Paladir, and US spy
satellites giving Ukraine live-feed of the situation on the ground. And Ukraine
hasn’t even “broken through” to Russia’s first
line of defense. Ukraine tries to attack without air defense. Ukraine also
tries to attack with big inferiority in artillery power. And Ukraine tries to
attack through minefields which they don’t know and which they don’t have the
equipment to clear. Ukraine is already caught up and destroyed in what Russia
calls the “flexible zone” in front of its first defensive lines. All of NATO
was for nothing.
There you
have it.
No wonder
that Western voices in “Ukraine Pravda” talking about “making a pause” in
Ukraine’s suicidal “offensive” efforts – it’s just a losing circus. See this.
Everything
NATO does is to murder Ukrainian men on the frontlines.
Ukraine is
wasted.

Alfred W. McCoy: Review of Nick Turse's
"Kill Anything That Moves: The Real American War in Vietnam"
(Metropolitan Books, 2013)
https://historynewsnetwork.org/article/150722
by Alfred W. McCoy
On the same day
in March 1968 that Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment, 11th
Brigade of the Americal Division, massacred 500 women
and children in the village of My Lai on orders to “kill everything that
moves,” a different U.S. Army unit, Bravo Company, entered the nearby hamlet of
My Khe. Although they met no resistance and found
only women and children in the village, Bravo Company’s commander, Lieutenant
Thomas Willingham, gave orders to destroy it. One soldier shot a Vietnamese
baby in the head point blank with a .45 caliber pistol. Others gunned down
women and children, “like being in a shooting gallery.” When their work was
done, 155 Vietnamese villagers were dead. Even though a U.S. Army investigation
found “no reliable evidence to support the claim that the persons killed were
VC [Viet Cong],” nobody was punished for these murders at My Khe. (141-42)
As Nick Turse explains in his depressingly important new
book, Kill Anything That Moves,
the Pentagon’s public relations strategy for dealing with the issue of U.S. atrocities
in South Vietnam “centered on portraying My Lai as a one-off aberration, rather
than part of a consistent pattern of criminality resulting from policies set at
the top” of the U.S. military command. So when reporters later asked about this
second massacre at My Khe, Pentagon briefers, not
wanting to admit that two different U.S. Army units had slaughtered civilians
in two separate villages on the same day, simply lied and blamed My Khe on South Vietnamese troops. The Pentagon then buried
the evidence about the My Khe massacre by classifying
the documentation as “top secret.” (230)
But these events, as Turse shows with his
careful research and judicious description of other atrocities, were not
aberrant. In the Song Ve Valley, not far from My Lai,
an elite detachment of the famed 101st Airborne Division called Tiger Force was
unleashed to terrorize villagers for a six-month period, May to November 1967,
killing scores of non-combatants -- often scalping the victims, kicking in
their faces to extract gold teeth, cutting off their ears. (135-36) That
August, a U.S. military newspaper reported that the 2nd Battalion, 320th
Artillery had fired its 250,000th artillery shell from a hilltop firebase into
this same Song Ve Valley, filling rice paddies with
craters and destroying homes. (137) Flying over that same area in mid-1967,
reporter Jonathan Schell saw that the Song Ve Valley
had been ravaged -- defoliants withering vegetation, artillery reducing almost
every home to ruins. Through careful study of two separate districts in Quang Ngai Province, Schell
reported that 80 percent of all homes had been destroyed. (136-37)

America’s
Addiction to War Comes with a 15 Trillion Dollar Price Tag
https://www.informationclearinghouse.info/57596.htm
by Jeffrey D.
Sachs
To surmount the debt crisis, America
needs to stop feeding the Military-Industrial Complex.
In the year
2000, the U.S. government debt was $3.5 trillion, equal to 35% of the Gross
Domestic Product (GDP). By 2022, the debt was $24 trillion, equal to 95% of
GDP. The U.S. debt is soaring, hence America’s current debt crisis. Yet both Republicans
and Democrats are missing the solution: stopping America’s wars of choice and
slashing military outlays.
Suppose the
government’s debt had remained at a modest 35% of GDP, as in 2000. Today’s debt
would be $9 trillion, as opposed to $24 trillion. Why did the U.S. government
incur the excess $15 trillion in debt?
The single
biggest answer is the U.S. government’s addiction to war and military spending.
According to the Watson Institute at Brown University, the cost of U.S. wars
from fiscal year 2001 to fiscal year 2022 amounted to a whopping $8 trillion,
more than half of the extra $15 trillion in debt. The other $7 trillion arose
roughly equally from budget deficits caused by the 2008 financial crisis and
the Covid-19 pandemic.
To surmount the debt crisis, America needs to stop feeding the
Military-Industrial Complex (MIC), the most powerful lobby in Washington. As
President Dwight D. Eisenhower famously warned on
January 17, 1961, “In the councils of government, we must guard against the
acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the
military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced
power exists and will persist.” Since 2000, the MIC led the U.S. into
disastrous wars of choice in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, and now Ukraine.
The Military-Industrial Complex long ago adopted a winning political
strategy by ensuring that the military budget reaches into every Congressional
district. The Congressional Research Service recently reminded Congress
that, “Defense spending touches every Member of Congress’s district through pay
and benefits for military servicemembers and
retirees, economic and environmental impact of installations, and procurement
of weapons systems and parts from local industry, among other activities.” Only
a brave member of Congress would vote against the military-industry lobby, yet
bravery is certainly no hallmark of Congress.
America’s
annual military spending is now around $900 billion, roughly 40% of the world’s total,
and greater than the next 10 countries combined. U.S. military spending in 2022
was triple that of China. According to Congressional Budget Office, the military outlays for 2024-2033 will
be a staggering $10.3 trillion on current baseline. A quarter or more of that
could be avoided by ending America’s wars of choice, closing down many of
America’s 800 or so military bases around the world,
and negotiating new arms control agreements with China and Russia.

The End Stage of American Empire
https://www.informationclearinghouse.info/57604.htm
by William J. Astore
Clinging
Bitterly to Guns and Religion
All around us
things are falling apart. Collectively, Americans are experiencing national and
imperial decline. Can America save itself? Is this country, as presently
constituted, even worth saving?
For me, that
last question is radical indeed. From my early years, I believed deeply in the
idea of America. I knew this country wasn’t perfect, of course, not even close.
Long before the 1619 Project, I
was aware of the “original sin” of slavery and how central it was to our
history. I also knew about the genocide of Native Americans. (As a teenager, my
favorite movie — and so it remains — was Little
Big Man, which pulled no punches when it came to the white
man and his insatiably murderous greed.)
Nevertheless,
America still promised much, or so I believed in the 1970s and 1980s. Life here
was simply better, hands down, than in places like the Soviet Union and Mao Zedong’s China. That’s why we had to “contain” communism —
to keep them over there, so they could never invade our
country and extinguish our lamp of liberty. And that’s why I joined America’s
Cold War military, serving in the Air Force from the presidency of Ronald
Reagan to that of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney. And believe me, it proved
quite a ride. It taught this retired lieutenant colonel that the sky’s anything but the limit.

How to Destroy Russia. 2019 Rand Corporation Report:
"Overextending and Unbalancing Russia"
https://www.globalresearch.ca/rand-corp-how-destroy-russia/5678456
by Manlio Dinucci
Force the
adversary to expand recklessly in order to unbalance him, and then destroy him.
This is not the description of a judo hold, but a plan against Russia
elaborated by the Rand Corporation, the most influential think tank in the USA.
With a staff of thousands of experts, Rand presents itself as the world’s most
reliable source for Intelligence and political analysis for the leaders of the
United States and their allies.
The Rand Corp
prides itself on having contributed to the elaboration of the long-term
strategy which enabled the United States to win the Cold War, by forcing the
Soviet Union to consume its own economic resources in the strategic
confrontation.
It is this
model which was the inspiration for the new plan, Overextending and Unbalancing
Russia,
published by Rand [1].
CLICK TO ACCESS the complete
document of RAND May 2019
According to
their analysts, Russia remains a powerful adversary for the United States in
certain fundamental sectors. To handle this opposition, the USA and their
allies will have to pursue a joint long-term strategy which exploits Russia’s
vulnerabilities. So Rand analyses the various means with which to unbalance
Russia, indicating for each the probabilities of success, the benefits, the
cost, and the risks for the USA.
Rand analysts
estimate that Russia’s greatest vulnerability is that of its economy, due to its heavy dependency on oil and gas exports. The income from
these exports can be reduced by strengthening sanctions and increasing the
energy exports of the United States. The goal is to oblige Europe to diminish
its importation of Russian natural gas, and replace it by liquefied natural gas
transported by sea from other countries.
Another way
of destabilising the Russian economy in the long run
is to encourage the emigration of qualified personnel, particularly young Russians with a high level of education.
In the
ideological and information sectors, it would be necessary to encourage
internal contestation and at the same time, to undermine Russia’s image on
the exterior, by excluding it from international forums and boycotting the
international sporting events that it organises.
In the
geopolitical sector, arming Ukraine would enable the USA to exploit the central
point of Russia’s exterior vulnerability, but this would have to be carefully
calculated in order to hold Russia under pressure without slipping into a major
conflict, which it would win.
In the
military sector, the USA could enjoy high benefits, with low costs and risks,
by increasing the number of land-based troops from the NATO countries working
in an anti-Russian function.
The USA can
enjoy high probabilities of success and high benefits, with moderate risks,
especially by investing mainly in strategic bombers and long-range attack
missiles directed against Russia.
Leaving the
INF Treaty and deploying in Europe new intermediate-range nuclear missiles
pointed at Russia would lead to high probabilities of success, but would also
present high risks.
By
calibrating each option to gain the desired effect – conclude the Rand analysts
– Russia would end up by paying the hardest price in a confrontation, but the
USA would also have to invest huge resources, which would therefore no longer
be available for other objectives. This is also prior warning of a coming major
increase in USA/NATO military spending, to the disadvantage of social budgets.
This is the
future that is planned out for us by the Rand Corporation, the most influential
think tank of the Deep State – in other words the underground centre of real
power gripped by the economic, financial, and military oligarchies – which
determines the strategic choices not only of the USA, but all of the Western
world.
The “options”
set out by the plan are in reality no more than variants of the same war
strategy, of which the price in sacrifices and risks is paid by us all.

Germany
confirms the truth of C.J. Hopkins' new book, by INVESTIGATING him for writing
it
by Mark Crispin Miller
It surely
isn't just the book's front cover, with its (near-imperceptible) small swastika
that got him into trouble there, but the author's blistering critique of the
"new normal"—i.e., COVID heresy.
As many of
you know, C.J. Hopkins, an American playwright living in Berlin, has been among
the fiercest (and funniest) critics of the new bio-fascist order, focusing
primarily on its sway in Germany (since that’s where he lives), but duly noting
its unprecedented global reach.
He posts his essays here on Substack, and has just
published a collection of such writings, The
Rise of the New Normal Reich.
To make the
world aware of this new book (which is self-published), Hopkins recently
tweeted an image of its front cover, which, like the title, harks back boldly
to William L. Shirer’s 1960 classic, The
Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, using the same Nazi tricoleur (black/white/red), and, roughly, the
same design; except that, whereas Rise
and Fall features, on its cover’s lower half, a thick black swastika
stamped on a white disc (as on the Third Reich’s flags and banners), Hopkins’
cover features, on its lower
half, a white surgical mask—shadowed, in the middle, with a small gray swastika
(so faint that you can barely make it out) on a white disc.

Russia’s economy has held up remarkably well against the 10,000+ sanctions
hurled at it by the West’s Community of Values, and Japan.
But Moscow’s
commendable resistance to torrents of economic restrictions could falter,
fatally, if friendly very nice banker man Herman Gref—who is a

his unreasonable demands.
Holy heck,
what does Herman want this time? Facial recognition cameras that work even on masked proles? An untested genetic

No, he
already has all those nice things. He wants something new, “for the

unfortunately, he usually does):
Artificial intelligence (AI) could
independently make decisions that are related to data analysis, especially in
the field of public administration. This was stated by the head of Sberbank Herman Gref during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
“In general,
all management is built on two components. The first is data-based management, this part of management is rational. It is best,
especially in public administration, to give decision-making to artificial
intelligence systems,” Gref noted.
Gref also argued that one of the main advantages of using GrefBots to
administer Russia was that you wouldn’t be able to bribe them.
I’m not sure
if Russians would consider that an advantage, honestly.
In all
seriousness, Russia has the world’s most egalitarian bribery system: In the
United States, only rich people get to bribe the government (using “Super
PACs”, lobbyists, and strippers). In Russia, almost everyone can afford a
bribe. You think I’m being fresh, but I’m not: This is a great leap forward for
Democracy.

False
Witnesses and Sinister Plots: Exposing the CIA Connection in the 'Chinese
Police Station' Narrative
by Kit Klarenberg
For months,
mainstream media across the Western world – in particular English-language
outlets based in the constituent members of the ‘Five Eyes’ global spying
network – have been rabidly awash with
terrifying news of secret “Chinese police stations” operating the world over.
It is claimed these “stations” are unofficial, covert Chinese Communist
Party (CPC) security and intelligence cells concealed in private businesses run
by Chinese émigrés, such as restaurants. From behind benign facades, they surveil and harass pro-democracy ex-pats, among other
nefarious activities.
By contrast, Beijing denies their existence, claiming purported examples
to merely be anodyne initiatives constructed by regional public security bureaus
during the COVID-19 pandemic. They are primarily said to offer Chinese citizens
overseas administrative services, such as driving license renewal.
These denials have fallen on deaf ears, and the narrative of dastardly
Communists operating cloak-and-dagger foreign spy bases in order to egregiously
extend China’s authoritarian tendrils overseas has ever-gained in currency. In
April, the FBI pounced upon a “Chinese
police station” in Lower Manhattan, New York, based in the offices of a
charitable organization established in 1998 to assist Chinese nationals from Changle, Fujian, a region of southeast China.

New Wave of Protests Begin as US Troops Enter Perú to Train Armed Forces
https://www.blackagendareport.com/new-wave-protests-begin-us-troops-enter-peru-train-armed-forces
by Clau O'Brien Moscoso
A Third
Takeover of Lima is the next action planned in the mobilization against
the coup government in Peru.
National
Strike, Day 161
As the
parliamentary coup against democratically elected president Pedro Castillo
enters its sixth month, the people of Perú continue
the protests and begin a new wave of coordinated actions throughout the country
to prepare for a third Takeover of Lima in July. Despite the coup regime’s
various attempts to stifle the uprising that began December 7th and has
continued both in the capital city of Lima and in the outer provinces and
regions, despite the Supreme Courtruling
declaring protests are not a protected right and Congress trying to take Perú out of the InterAmerican Commission on Human Rights
, the people have not stopped making their voices
heard. With the entrance of hundreds of US military personnel starting on
June 1st, it is yet to be seen what this deployment means for the movement and
the people’s struggle for a plurinational and
sovereign nation, but plans continue for a renewed wave of protests.
June 7th marked Flag Day in Perú as well the 6
month anniversary of the Boluarte/ Fujimori coup
regime that claimed the lives of over 80 Peruvians during the uprising.
Peruvians, particularly in the southern regions of Puno, Arequipa, and Apurímac
raised the black and white Peruvian flag honoring those killed in the 6 months
of dictatorship. Merchants in mercados throughout the
country raised the black and white flag, the families of victims and others in
places like Ayacucho, Junin and in Lima staged a “lavado”
(wash) in public squares where they were washing
flags in buckets of soap and water (to metaphorically get the blood of their
slain children and other martyrs and abuses of this dictatorship off the flag),
and continuous organizing towards the July 19th Third Takeover Of Lima where
delegations of people from outer regions into Lima to demand the ouster of the Boularte regime, the closure of Congress, and justice for
the victims, among other demands.
As with much of
this popular uprising, the southern region of Puno has provided leadership to
the struggle. On May 30th, all of Puno observed a full strike (paro seco) that had all
storefronts, hostels, and restaurants closed in observance of this decision
made by Popular Assembly. Through various formations, both longstanding and
newly formed in these past six months, popular assemblies have been converging
throughout the regions and macro regions of the country to plan for the
upcoming delegations heading to Lima, but also to plan more local actions like
the strike on May 30th, and more importantly, what the demands of a popular,
sovereign and plurinational constituent assembly
should be. Other regions, like Arequipa, have also
agreed to the Third Takeover of Lima for mid July while also planning local
actions in the lead up to the mass march on the capital, according to Yasmani Cayo, presidente
del Frente de Defensa
del Avelino.
The Boluarte regime declared an additional 60
days of a State of Emergencyfor Puno in
response to the planned protests. The next day would result in tense scenes in
the city of Juliaca in Puno with police and mourners
jostling to lower the flag at half mast, but no deadlier interactions reported.
With this round of renewed protests and major mobilizations to the capital city
of Lima, the mobilized masses have yet to face the brutality of what training
the Peruvian Armed Forces are receiving from the additional 1,000 US military
troops. As President of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel recently stated when asked about the
entrance of US troops to Perú, “that is interference, that is aggression. A country that respects
itself does not allow that. That is an attack against the sovereignty of a
nation, it is to end self determination…Behind this, it shows the interest to
assault and be present in the problems of our countries as an element of
domination.”
As government
contracts from the Department of Defense flood into Lima, particularly the
Naval Medical Research Unit Six (NAMRU-6), the
primary source of infectious diseases research in the Latin American region for
the US Navy, it’s clear that the US is stationing itself further
entrenched in Perú not only to help clamp down the
popular uprising inside the country, but also as a threat to the region of what
happens when the people elect a government promising to have the resources of
the country benefit the masses.

Fight Between PSUV and PCV is Unnecessary,
Untimely, and Alien
https://www.blackagendareport.com/fight-between-psuv-and-pcv-unnecessary-untimely-and-alien
by Clodovaldo Hernández
Venezuela's governing United Socialist Party of Venezuela, PSUV, has
a complicated history with the Communist Party of Venezuela, PCV. A
recent public dispute between the two parties has
exposed differences in a nation struggling to maintain a
revolutionary stance in the wake of U.S. aggression.
Originally
published in Orinoco Tribune .
Life turns on a dime: The Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) has never
had as much public attention as it does these days. It has even become a
trending topic on social media platforms despite the fact that many of their
leaders do not use those platforms because they are weapons (although not
necessarily dented) of imperialism.
I have the slight impression that this was not the purpose of those who,
hailing from the government and the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV),
wanted to knock out their former ally. These are, apparently, shots that have
backfired.
I also believe that for the majority of party members and sympathizers of
the revolutionary process, this is an unnecessary, untimely, and alien fight.
I speak for myself, although I think I represent many others, when I say
that I am sorry to admit that such a coarse ploy like that of the Teatro Principal has been carried out to question the
current leadership of the PCV. It seems to me that even for political maneuvers,
you should use your head a little more, especially if the issue is regarding a
government that has had to fight so much against the self-proclaimed people and
interim presidents.
I also affirm that it is even laughable to see that large media outlets
of the most rancid status quo, national and global, all of them rabidly
anti-communist, have devoted their space and time to defending the PCV. And
it’s even funnier to see the PCV echoing these questionable supports.
We are standing here before the divorce of a toxic couple who have put up
with each other during a long marriage. Suddenly, each one brings up acidic
criticism that has gone stale regarding the other. Watching the fight from the
sidelines, you inevitably come to the conclusion that they never loved each
other. They married for convenience and stayed together “for the kids.”
As usually happens in these traumatic ruptures, many truths are told, but
serious infamy is also incurred. Since they are mixed, enmeshed, intertwined,
it is sometimes difficult to distinguish one from the other.
PCV’s position
The PCV, from its position as a cadre party with its habitual attitude of
being the owner of the absolute truth in matters of orthodox Marxism, is
accusing the government and the PSUV of developing a neoliberal and anti-worker
policy (note: this last word cannot be missing in the speech of a
self-respecting radical communist). Not included in these allegations is the
fact that the government of Nicolás Maduro has had to make major concessions, without which he
very likely would not have been able to remain in power, and this would have
put Venezuela today in the hands of the most recalcitrant of the
pro-imperialist right-wing, with all the internal and geopolitical consequences
that this would entail.

Dear Leaders of CARICOM,
I greet you in the name of each common ancestor whose bones remain
restless at the bottom of the Caribbean and Atlantic Oceans. I hope this brief
note finds you in excellent health as it deals with an urgent crisis which
requires that we summon superior collective wisdom, intelligence and, above
all, courage.
As you read this note, in the town of Jeremi
(South-West Haiti/ Grandans), corpses are being
pulled under collapsed rubble. The region was hit by a 4.9 magnitude quake
early this morning. This occurred a few hours after floods had devastated large
parts of the North, West and South of Haiti, causing loss of human lives,
animals and property. None of these calamities can be attributed
solely to “natural disaster”. It is the absence of a Haitian State apparatus to
help prevent, manage and recover from natural phenomena which caused such
extensive damages in my ravaged native land. Therefore, we must address two key
questions: 1) How come Haiti
does not have a functioning government? 2) How could such an entity get
established as soon as possible, with, by and for the right individuals?
I understand that CARICOM convened a meeting, later this week, to discuss
these timely issues in Kingston, Jamaica.
Due to the Ottawa Initiative on Haiti and
resulting 2004 coup d’état, which CARICOM rightfully and courageously
denounced, the people of my native land went from having 7000 duly elected
officials, 20 years ago, to none, today.

ESSAY: Starvation Misery, and Terror in Dutch Guiana, Anton de Kom, 1934
https://www.blackagendareport.com/essay-starvation-misery-and-terror-dutch-guiana-anton-de-kom-1934
by Editors, The Black Agenda Review
In
discussions about the European genocidal expansion into the Caribbean region,
the Dutch seem to always get a pass. Read this essay by Afro-Surinamese writer
and resistance fighter, Anton de Kom, about the
entrenched legacy of Dutch racism and colonialism in the Caribbean.
Interest in
the Surninamese anti-colonial writer and resistance
fighter Anton de Kom has undergone a resurgence since
2020, buoyed by both the global Black Lives Matter protests and claims for reparations for slavery
from the Dutch colonies in the Caribbean. De Kom was born in Paramaribo, Suriname, on February 22, 1898,
thirty-five years after slavery had been officially abolished, but during a
time when Black people lived in slavery-like conditions under Dutch colonial
rule. In his book, Wij slaven van Suriname (We Slaves of Suriname), De Kom
documented the long history of slavery in Suriname and the degraded and
repressive conditions that Black people experienced in the decades following
abolition. First published in a censored version in 1934 while De Kom was living in exile in the Netherlands, We Slaves of Suriname is a fierce but poetic critique of Dutch racism and
colonialism. It should be read alongside classic anti-colonial tracts such as Aime Cesaire’s Discourse on Colonialism and Frantz
Fanon’s The Wretched of the Earth,
especially now, as access to We Slaves
of Suriname has been made easier with the arrival of a first English-language
translation in 2022.
In June, 1934, De Kom published a short article
titled “Starvation Misery, and Terror in Dutch Guiana” in the journal Negro Worker . It is a
powerful indictment of the policies of Dutch imperial rule in the Caribbean –
and of the bitter irony of the history of reparations: as was the case with the
English in the Caribbean, it was
white owners of enslaved Africans, and not enslaved Africans, who received
compensation from the Netherlands. Similarly, the continued underdevelopment
of the former Dutch colonies in the Caribbean are the result of the
continuation of both slavery and colonialism under other names. De Kom (captured while fighting for the Dutch resistance
against the Nazis, died of tuberculosis in a concentration camp in 1945) was
among the most perceptive observers of both. While we urge you to read We Slaves of Suriname , we reprint below De Kom’s “Starvation, Misery, and Terror in Dutch Guiana”.
Starvation Misery, and Terror in Dutch Guiana
Anton de Kom
What has Dutch Imperialism achieved in Dutch Guiana in the centuries of
so-called culture and civilization? The answer: The mass of natives of Dutch
Guiana in the towns and on the plantations; the Asiatic workers who come to the
colony as contract labourers from British India and
Indonesia, are subjected to the most miserable condition of hunger and
starvation.
The immigrant workers come under a contract of what is nothing but five
years slave-labour. And the
compensation? They are paid the princely wage of F. 1.80 for male and F.
120 for female workers per week (F. stands for guilders and has a par value of
2 ½ to the dollar. Ed.) That is for those fortunate enough to have a job.
The effects of the crisis has been the throwing
out of thousands of coloured workers into the streets
to starve. Arrested as vagrants and for petty crimes as a result of starvation,
they are forced as prisoners to build roads and keep the streets in repair. In
this way does the colonial ruling class ret public works done free of charge
and keep the starving workers out of employment. There you are, another phase
of the modern slavery to which the working class is subjected.
Thousands of unemployed, tramp the
streets from early morning until late at night, vainly in search of work that
is not to be found. Poverty and misery reigns everywhere. Hundreds of families,
fathers and mothers with their children are out everywhere seeking in vain for
a morsel of bread. It is hardly possible to describe the terrible state of
absolute poverty and want.
Disease and death as a result of undernourishement
particularly among children, are taking a heavy toll among the working
population. The mortality rate among infants has jumped tremendously. Out of every thousand deaths seventy tuberculosis. More than two thousand new victims yearly from framboesia
tropica. And malaria is steadily on the
increase.
The housing conditions of the native toilers in Dutch
Guiana is in a roost deplorable state. They are not houses, but decayed
wooden hovels. In very many cases one room must serve as shelter for a family
of seven persons. The roofs are generally of zinc. By day the temperature is
that of a hot oven. At night it is cold and damp. Such are the conditions under
which the native toilers out of whose labour is
extracted huge super-profits by the Dutch Imperialists, compelled to live.
The children born prior to 1838 were slaves. And today?
Now they are free. They are no
longer slaves, for slavery is no [longer,] they are free. They are no longer slaves, for … Guiana is free. Free, without clothing. Free, but in rags. Just a nigger.
We remember the 16 million florins, Holland gave
the white slave barons as indemnity for the emancipated slaves. These millions
were given to the Bakras (whites) as a reward for the
inhuman deeds they committed against the Negro slaves - our forefathers. But to the slaves and today to the free Negroes not a penny. Their only reward today is
unemployment, misery and starvation.
Only through organization and struggle can the workers of Dutch Guiana
succeed in bettering their living conditions and effectively fight against the
exploitation and slavery imposed upon them by the Dutch colonial rulers.
Only through solidarity and joint struggle between the workers of the
capitalist countries and the colonial toilers can an effective blow be dealt to
the common enemy-Imperialism. Workers, organize and
fight against exploitation, unemployment and starvation! Close ranks in
struggle for the emancipation of the colonial toilers! Demand the independence
of Dutch Guiana!

A Deadly
Fight: Senegal’s Political Crisis Escalates After
Repression of Protesters
Protest in
Dakar, Senegal (Photo: @BangweuluTv/Twitter)
by Tanupriya Singh
At least 16
people were killed after protests broke out in Senegal following the sentencing
of leading opposition figure Ousmane Sonko to two years in prison. Mass public unrest has grown
against President Macky Sall
and the continued neo-colonial exploitation of the country by France.
Originally
published in People's Dispatch .
Between June 1 and 3, Senegal erupted in protest after a court in the
capital Dakar sentenced leading opposition figure Ousmane
Sonko to two years in prison.
The 48-year-old leader of the Patriots for Work, Ethics, and Fraternity
(PASTEF) party stood accused of charges of rape and issuing deaths threats
against a young woman employed at the ‘Sweet Beaute’
massage salon between 2020 and 2021. The court acquitted Sonko
of the charges of rape, but convicted and sentenced him instead on the amended
charge of ‘corrupting youth’, defined as immoral behavior towards someone under
the age of 21.
The “Sweet Beaute case,” as it is known, is at
the center of a major political crisis in Senegal—framed in terms of a contest
between Sonko and a popularly-rejected, but as yet
unconfirmed, bid by President Macky Sall to seek a third term in the 2024 presidential
elections.
Sonko did not appear for the proceedings
on June 1, having called upon his supporters to launch a campaign of ‘civil
disobedience’ against the judiciary. He has been confined to his
home in the district of Cité Keur
Gorgui after being forcibly detained by police on May
27 while he was leading a ‘Freedom Caravan’ from the city of Zuguinchor, of which he is the mayor, to the
capital.
As the verdict was announced, Sonko’s
supporters took to the streets in Dakar. Unrest was also reported from Ziguinchor, Mbour, Kaolock, and Saint-Louis. Smoke and tear gas rose in the
streets with the military and riot police deployed in the capital city.
By June 2, 16 people were killed, 350 injured and 500 arrested, according
to figures released by the Interior Ministry. Other reports placed
the death toll over 20. Visuals circulating on social media showed the security
forces using people, including a child, as human shields,
alongside reports of
non-uniformed armed men in the streets in the presence of, and even alongside,
the police.
Meanwhile, access to social media platforms such as Twitter and Telegram
was restricted and mobile internet connections remained shut down till days later .
Sonko’s lawyer has indicated that
the court’s ruling might not be subject to appeal, given that he was sentenced
in absentia. While a warrant for his arrest has not been issued yet, the
conviction as it stands points to Sonko’s definite
disqualification from the 2024 elections.
He was already facing an imminent threat after he was handed a two-month
suspended sentence in a libel case involving Tourism Minister Mame Mbaye Niang.
The matter is currently pending before the Supreme Court.
Sonko and his supporters have maintained
that the criminal trials against him are a political plot devised by Sall to oust him from next year’s ballot. The president has
been repeatedly accused of instrumentalizing the
justice system to eliminate political rivals—notably the imprisonment and subsequent
banning of his two key contenders, Karim Wade and Khalifa Sall, from the 2019
elections.
This and the Sweet Beaute case combined, with
indications of interference and
manipulation in the course of the
investigation, as well as allegations of abuse of power by the president with
not only the arrests of members of PASTEF but also of political activists,
civil society members and journalists in the preceding months, all worked to
fuel mistrust in the judicial process.

https://www.blackagendareport.com/bar-book-forum-dixa-ramirez-doleos-book-will-not-be-generative
by Roberto Sirvent
In this
series, we ask acclaimed authors to answer five questions about their book.
This week’s featured author is Dixa Ramirez-D'Oleo. Ramirez-D'Oleo is Associate
Professor in the English department at Brown University. Her book is This Will Not Be
Generative.
Excerpt from book, This Will Not
Be Generative, courtesy of Cambridge University Press:
The speculative has a long history in black writing and creativity due to
its function as a rhetorical escape valve from relentless anti-black violence.
Methods of speculation or fabulation have also been
useful for scholars who must contend with archival gaps when attempting to
reconstruct historical black social and cultural life. What I critique here is
the marshalling of the speculative to rush over historical, rhetorical, and
philosophical accountings of unending anti-black forms of genocidal violence.
The close readings I conducted throughout this Element bely the insistence that “we” “already know” the
extent and depth of the violence. If “we” “already know,” then why does black
suffering continue to facilitate generativity for an
exclusive “all”? If “we” “already know,” then why is negative critique that
withholds a relief already withheld by the world – for some – faced with such
forceful dismissal and silencing in current US academic spaces?
While speculative narratives tend to harbor utopian fantasies of the
past, present, and future, horror narratives show precisely “for whom both the Anthropocene and its apocalyptic imaginaries do not
necessarily hold any emancipating value” (Karera 2019:
34). What I have sought to show throughout This Will Not Be Generative is that this horror lurks beneath the ludic and “generative” language of ecological writings.
They cannot metaphorize their way out of genocidal
logics.
Roberto Sirvent: How can your book help BAR
readers understand the current political and social climate?
Dixa Ramírez-D'Oleo: This Will Not Be Generative illuminates how the language of
community, vitality, and spirit are launched with pathos against critique-as-such in what I call, broadly
speaking, “ecological writings.” It attends to various
works by Donna Haraway, Monique Allewaert,
and Lisa Wells to expose how the metaphors of “tentacles and tendrils,” an
assumptive “we,” and redemptive sympathy and “care” disguise a historical
relationship of extraction from black people and blackness. I show how they
echo the nineteenth-century sentimentalist and abolitionist narratives in which
the rhetoric of empathy, love, and black-pain-made-attractive to white
audiences replaced the threatening rhetoric (and fact) of black rage and
revolution.
I show how many ecological writings follow this procedure: 1) the
non-black writer incorporates her- or himself into an innovation of thought
that surges out of black historical, ontological, or epistemological
specificity; 2) the non-black writer excludes the blackness of the black writer’s
“we”; 3) the non-black writer may end up criticizing the demands for
linguistic, historical, and philosophical specificity attendant to blackness as
“divisive.” The resulting “new,” “hybrid” entity, the new “we” which excludes
black survival and usually issues from humans’ tinkering, is the white(ned) entity, re-energized and revamped by the useful parts
of others. In this configuration, the (non-African) indigenous element remains
apart from but useful to the newly miscegenated white(ned) entity or what I call
the white indigène.
I contrast this often-speculative rhetoric with the horror-semiotics of
Jordan Peele’s Get Out
(2017) and Ari Aster’s Midsommar (2019), which unmask the antagonistic
relationship between white survival “at the end of the world” and blackness as compost.
Given the understandable panic about climate change, what is the point of
dedicating any time, energy, and resources to anything other than scientific
endeavors, art, literature, and policy focused on climate change? This Will Not Be Generative defends
the importance of close, critical, and ruminating analyses. One may wonder:
what is wrong with wanting humanities scholars, especially those attentive to
race, gender, and/or sexuality, to turn to affective registers, such as “repair,”
“care,” and even “love,” where affect is compensatory for an impossible ethics?
This book insists that scholarship whose function is to analyze, critique, desediment, and question without necessarily being equally
concerned with the work of “creating” – beyond the critique itself – remains crucial in a world barreling into
obvious fascisms, authoritarianisms, and erasures of enduring colonial
violence. It argues that fascistic tendencies lurk, to loosely paraphrase Rey
Chow’s assertion in Ethics after
Idealism, in the language of love and idealism. After all, who gets to
define the shape of this “community” and this “love”?
What do you hope activists and community organizers will take away from
reading your book?
Suspicion, in a word. Among social-media-influenced academics the term
“activist” has become immensely
elastic. The influence of speech act theory, secularized Protestantism, and
literalism are relevant here. For instance: “What I am saying is radical because I am describing it
using that word” or “What I am calling rebellion
and community is such simply
because I am uttering those words.” This
Will Not Be Generative tangentially explores this tendency because of
how much language games alongside a kind of redemptive literalism arise in
ecological writings. It asks readers to be suspicious of the rhetorical gambits
used to scream environmental apocalypse, as though it has nothing to do with
white supremacy and anti-blackness.
It notes the curious co-existence in these ecological writings of, on the
one hand, the urgency requiring that “we” forgo any forms of structural
accountability for enduring destruction and inequality, and especially
anti-blackness, and, on the other hand, the subtle but persistent expectation
and self-assurance that white survival (especially as the symbiotic and rooted
white indigène),
and, as such, white supremacy over all other living things, will endure. This
self-assurance is the tell-tale heart beating in these writings, and it is not
well disguised. However, the breathless celebration in the form of media
attention, copious interdisciplinary funding in academic and art world spaces,
and book contracts around Anthropocenic “end of the
world” texts by mostly white writers have led to a willful blindness to what is
actually written on their pages. “Why, yes,” I found myself repeating while
rereading and researching for this project, “that thinker is indeed calling for
population extermination as a necessary step in saving, not so much biodiverse life as it exists, but in protecting access to
the scientific tinkering that
will produce new forms of white humanity.” Or, “why, yes, that writer is indeed
arguing that the physical mutilation and torture of enslaved black people
secured their openness to the non-human natural world and this is helpful to
everyone else’s becoming.”
This book urges readers not only to look more closely at what is being
said or written, but also to ask: what must not be in order
for this fantasy or fabulation to become a reality or
to make sense? This insistence on rereading carefully and asking what
qualifications the writer or speaker has to make specific statements (e.g., how
did this STEM training equip this person to influence funding structures for
the humanities?) is a message that is sorely needed in our current political
moment obsessed with black death.
We know readers will learn a lot from your book, but what do you hope
readers will un-learn? In other words, is there a
particular ideology you’re hoping to dismantle?
First, I hope that it inspires people to un-learn
the idea that critique-as-such is no longer necessary. By “critique-as-such” I
emphatically do not mean attacks based on shoddy or non-existent evidence and
cursory reading, but, rather, the kind of slow and thorough reading and thinking
that takes a lot of time, effort, and training. I pored over the texts I
analyzed in this book for years, in some cases, which includes studying their
bibliographies and doing other kinds of secondary research. People who do not
have literary studies training may be good at other things, such as biology or
journalism, but they are not good at this. This book is the result of the most
careful readings I have ever done.
Second, I hope that they un-learn that calling something
“reparative”—like “reparative reading”—means
that it is actually repairing
anything. Such may, in fact, rely on various forms of violent silencing or
worse.
Third, I would like academic readers, including students, to un-learn the unrealistic expectation that the role of higher
education is to “heal” them. I urge my students to seek healing among friends
(which may, of course, include fellow students), family, spiritual guides, and
those with the appropriate training or in the position (e.g., a doula) to
provide healing. If a “scholar-activist” promises that their books, classes, or
tweets promise salvation from centuries of historical oppression, they are a
false prophet. Our understandable desire for academia to be a more inclusive
and less violent place is not the same as expecting the classroom and lecture
hall to feel akin to a yoga class or a church service (the latter of which, by
the way, can feel immensely violent to many of us). The increasing prevalence
of academia-as-church, especially in spaces dedicated to discussing race,
worries me because it seeks to enforce acceptable communal feeling rather than
encourage intellectual inquiry.
Relatedly, I would like readers to un-learn
the association between “black woman/femme” with the expectation of
healing—with its obvious historical association with the imago of the Mammy—and
between “black man/butch” with the potential for threat—with its obvious
historical association with the imago of the black phallic rapist. I recently
presented a portion of this book at a symposium in which a fellow presenter
stated that my critique of “care,” as it is currently touted in academia, is “patriarchal.” Rather than realizing that black
femme scholars do not all agree with one another, this scholar rhetorically
manifested that I have, or am, a phallus. I have noted the repeated association
between the highly theoretical and difficult work of Afro-pessimism and black
nihilism with black male scholars as threats who stand in the way of black
people’s “joy” and the expectation that black female scholars—be they
Afro-pessimists or not—will provide “healing” and preserve said “joy.” I now
laugh every time that an essay that alleges to “take down” what it deems to be
Afro-pessimism ends with a reference to the Combahee River Collective. These
binary associations—the black phallus with negative or pessimistic critique and
the black maternal with resilient healing-for-all—are violent misreadings.
Finally, I would like readers to disentangle the potential association
between critique-as-such with language-policing. At the above-mentioned
symposium, some of the attendees transformed me into the police; any time
someone followed the procedure I criticized in my book, my name would arise
somewhat apologetically and with performative shame,
even though I remained completely silent beyond discussions of my own work. It
reminded me of the obvious projection strategy evident in the prevalent
representation of the black cop in U.S. popular culture. This book is not a
manual for policing language and it certainly does not ask for censorship. It
does not traffic in the cycle of mea
culpa and shame that so inform ecological writings. Some scholars have
become so uncomfortable with critique-as-such that they confuse it for what is
much more likely in the vein of post-critical reading practices: denunciation
and expulsion from the “community.”

Israel Threatens A Multi-Front War To Distract
From Its Failures
by Robert Inlakesh
Last Thursday
the Israeli military concluded a two-week series of exercises — dubbed “Firm
Hand” — which simulated fighting a multi-front war against Lebanese Hezbollah
and other regional forces that have threatened to strike Israel over attacks
against Holy Sites in the city of Jerusalem. Despite the posturing and
threatening language, the readiness of the Israeli army has been shown to be
weak, as its Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu prepares to take-on the backlash
of planned amendments to Tel Aviv’s legal system.
Since the
ascent to power of the current Israeli government late last year, one of its
primary focuses has been preparing for conflict against the Islamic Republic of
Iran. As part of Israel’s anti-Iran strategy, preparations for encountering
resistance forces from Syrian and Lebanese territory have become central.
During the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, Israeli occupying police forces
violently raided al-Aqsa mosque, injuring and
arresting hundreds of worshippers, drawing retaliatory rocket fire from
Southern Lebanon, Syria, and the Gaza Strip. The Secretary General of
Hezbollah, Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah,
also made it clear in a recent speech, around three weeks ago, that any future
war with Israel would include “hundreds of thousands” of fighters
that would attack from a number of bordering nations.
As Israel’s recent preparations for a
regional conflict were taking place in the north of occupied Palestine, an
embarrassing security failure occurred in the south. On Saturday, June 3, an
attack took place along the Egyptian border area, known as al-Awja, resulting in the killing of three
Israeli soldiers, with a fourth left seriously
injured. Officially, the gunman was identified as Mohammad Salah, an Egyptian
police officer who was in his early 20’s. After a number of
contradictory narratives were spread in both Egypt’s and Israel’s media, it was
concluded that the lone-gunman managed to cross the Israeli border fence
holding an AK-47 rifle. Salah allegedly opened fire on two Israeli
soldiers, killing both of them, before opening fire at a unit sent as backup
hours later, killing another Israeli soldier and injuring a second in this
exchange. The Egyptian gunman then attacked again and was killed in a third
exchange.
Although the incident was strange, raising many questions about how a man
in his early 20’s managed to travel across the Sinai, avoid Israel’s
state-of-the-art censors and monitoring equipment, break through the border and
take on a number of Israeli units, armed with only a single rifle, the incident
represented an embarrassment. Despite there being no physical evidence to
suggest that there were other armed combatants involved in the attack,
circumstantial evidence would suggest that it was well planned in advance and
that there was perhaps a cell that carried out the operation. This being the
case, the narrative of a lone-wolf shooter has alone provided for a compelling
argument to suggest that Tel Aviv is in a weak position in the event of a
regional conflict breaking out.
When a barrage of rockets were fired from southern Lebanon during Ramadan
this year, which injured a number of Israeli settlers and caused damage to
buildings, the response was notably lackluster from an Israeli perspective. Israel’s Premier, Benjamin Netanyahu, gave a number of speeches at
the time, indicating that Hezbollah targets had been struck in response to the
rocket fire; this came after the Israeli military stated that it struck targets
belonging to Hamas. In reality, a banana farm, along with open land near
a Palestinian refugee camp, were the only areas targeted by Israeli airstrikes
in Lebanon. This led to jokes in the Lebanese press, whereby the Israeli
strikes were labelled “operation banana split”.
Last October, when Beirut and Tel Aviv signed a deal to demarcate
maritime borders — a move that has opened the door for Lebanon to extract its
natural resources — Benjamin Netanyahu labelled the
deal a “historic surrender” to
Hezbollah and Iran. At the time, Netanyahu was the leader of the Israeli
opposition and spoke about the weakness of then Prime
Minister Yair Lapid, who
had signed the deal under the threat of Hezbollah launching a war in the event
he didn’t. Nearly half a year into the far-right Netanyahu
administration, the “historic surrender” deal has
remained in place and his extremist camp has seemingly forgotten about it. The
truth here is that no one has forgotten, but instead understand
the position of weakness that Israel finds itself in before the powerful armed
group based in southern Lebanon.
Even inside
the occupied West Bank, where Israel has full control and is backed up by a
collaborator force called the Palestinian Authority Security Forces (PASF),
tens of armed groups have been able to form and carry out routine shooting
attacks against Israeli soldiers and settlers. On Tuesday for example, the
Israeli army raided three Palestinian refugee camps in pursuit of armed fighters,
killing an innocent bystander and shooting
a child, failing to arrest the wanted combatants. As the refugee
camp of Balata, located in Nablus, was under attack, an armed cell belonging to
the Jenin Brigades had managed to carry out a
retaliatory shooting against Israeli soldiers and a settler near Ja’bad. Four Israeli soldiers and a settler were injured in
the shooting attack, which is believed to have been carried out by the same
resistance fighters that killed an Israeli officer two weeks prior.
The West Bank is the most controlled territory that Israel occupies, yet
even there they are at a loss of what to do. This all stems from a complete
disconnect from reality, where two primary Israeli camps currently exist; those
who believe in maintaining the status quo and those who seek to impose a
radical change that includes expelling Palestinians
entirely, in addition to taking over the Holy Churches and
Mosque’s throughout the country. Both sides of Israel’s ongoing discourse have no
solid solution for the existence of the Palestinian people, nor how to
reconcile their feud with the region.
The United States government has attempted to lead efforts whereby Tel
Aviv signs onto normalization deals with more corrupted Arab dictators, yet
this again avoids confronting the elephant in the room and fails to quell the
collective regional anger against Israel. For example, in 1979 the Egyptian
regime normalized ties with Israel, yet it is still not safe for Israelis to
visibly visit Cairo today in 2023, this is not because the Egyptian State will
do anything to them, it is out of fear that regular Egyptians may act. In 2011,
during the Egyptian revolution, the protesters immediately took to raiding and
destroying the Israeli embassy, this is because no self-respecting Arab will
ever accept the behavior of Israel in the region, despite Tel Aviv having given
up its occupation of Egyptian territory.
Although the Arab street, as it is colloquially known, opposes Israel, it
is not the average Arab that the Zionist regime has to worry about, it is the
dozens of armed groups that are now positioned in Syria, Gaza, and Lebanon, all
of which are waiting and building strength. All the while, the radical Israeli
government, led by PM Netanyahu, now faces an internal revolt from Israelis
themselves, ostensibly over a planned judicial system overhaul. Crucial votes in the Israeli Knesset
are likely to take place later this year, assuming
that Netanyahu is not seeking to delay the legal system amendments to a later
date in order to avoid general strikes and large scale protests that will effect the Israeli economy.
At this point, the far-right administration of Benjamin Netanyahu is in
crisis. The radical lawmakers who keep Netanyahu in power are threatening a
religious war through proposing changes to the status quo at al-Aqsa Mosque, they also plan
annexation of the West Bank and seek to perform another ethnic cleansing of
Palestinians. On top of this, the same extremist administration seeks to change
the nature of Israel’s apartheid state, making it
fall under a more religious model and putting the power to change the entire
system in the hands of a Knesset lawmaker majority. The fact that Israel is now
more vulnerable militarily, due to the advancements in the quality and quantity
of the regional armed groups like Hezbollah, only adds to a long list of
threats.
Israel will now fight many battles on various fronts. There is the
Israeli vs Israeli conflict, a fight over which
apartheid model they want for the privileged ethnic class and the judiciary
which grants it a liberal system. There is also the ensuing battle between
Palestinian citizens of Israel and Jewish Israelis. In addition to this there
is the issue of the West Bank and what the future of the territory will look
like. Then there is Jerusalem and the status quo at al-Aqsa
mosque, this could determine the future of Jordan-Israel relations. All of
these questions are to be answered and the armed movements in Gaza, Syria, and
Lebanon are intrinsically linked to the results. For the time being, Tel Aviv
is in a trap, a ticking time bomb, and the attempts to threaten Iran or maybe
even launch some sort of action against it, will represent a distraction more
so than any real attempt to inflict a significant blow.

Shadowy, Israel-Linked Group Attempts to Censor Pro-Palestine Spotify Artists
by Alan Macleod
A shadowy,
Israel-linked pressure group is attempting to remove artists supporting
Palestinian liberation from Spotify. We Believe in
Israel, an outgrowth of the Britain Israel Communications and Research Center
(BICOM), is lobbying both the U.K. government and the popular music streaming
platform in their efforts to censor a range of artists – including MintPress News’ Lowkey.
Studying these organizations’ key figures, MintPress can reveal that the
lobby group may have sympathetic ears in key positions in both.

Gaza: Amnesty
Calls on ICC to Investigate Israel for War Crimes
https://www.globalresearch.ca/gaza-amnesty-calls-icc-investigate-israel-war-crimes/5822513
by Middle East Eye
Amnesty
International has accused Israel of “collective
punishment against the civilian population” during last month’s fighting
between Israel and Palestinian fighters in
the Gaza Strip, and called on the International Criminal Court (ICC) to
investigate.
The new report concluded
that Israel conducted “apparently disproportionate” strikes against men, women
and children in Gaza over a five-day period in May, killing 33 Palestinians,
including six children.
One Israeli was also killed during the fighting.
During the attacks, the Israeli military damaged 2,943 housing units,
including 103 homes which were completely destroyed. More than 1,244
Palestinians have also been displaced.
“Since the root cause of these recurrent unlawful attacks against
civilians is Israel’s apartheid system against Palestinians, therefore Amnesty
International is renewing its call on the ICC to consider the applicability of
the crime against humanity of apartheid within its current formal investigation
into the Situation in the State of Palestine,” said the report.
The fighting
on 9 May began when the Israeli military killed 15 Palestinians, including
three Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) commanders along with their wives and
children, in air strikes.

US says Roger
Waters has long history of denigrating Jews
https://www.informationclearinghouse.info/57605.htm
by Roger Waters
The Biden administration
is weighing in on the controversy over Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters,
saying his recent performances in Germany were antisemitic,
an assessment shared by many in Israel and the pro-Israel community.
The State
Department said Tuesday that Waters has “a long track record of using antisemitic tropes” and a concert he gave late last month
in Germany “contained imagery that is deeply offensive to Jewish people and
minimized the Holocaust.”
The comments
came in a written response to a question posed at Monday’s State Department
press briefing about whether the administration agreed with criticism of Rogers
from the U.S. special envoy to combat antisemitism,
Deborah Lipstadt.
“Special
Envoy Lipstadt’s quote-tweet speaks for
itself,” the department said.

The Democratic Party’s Crucifixion of
Matt Taibbi
https://www.informationclearinghouse.info/57600.htm
by Chris Hedges
On Dec. 24,
2022 Matt Taibbi was in
a room at the Parc 55 Hotel in San Francisco poring
through reports sent to Twitter from an entity called
the Foreign Influence Task Force (FITF). The FITF is
an FBI-led interagency task force that forwards “moderation requests” from
numerous government agencies, including Homeland Security, the CIA, the
Pentagon and the State Department, to social media outlets. Taibbi was given access to the
internal traffic by Twitter’s new owner, Elon Musk.
It revealed how the FBI and other government agencies routinely suppressed news
and commentary. He published a
Twitter thread that night, Christmas Eve, with the headline “Twitter and Other
Government Agencies”.
“There would
be a list of YouTube videos,” Taibbi said when I
reached him by phone. “There would be a notation that would say ‘We assess that
these are all created by the Internet Research Agency in
Russia. We assess that they are promoting anti-Ukraine attitudes.’ I would see
that all those videos were no longer on YouTube. You can make your own
deduction from that, but that was the pattern. They would send Excel
spreadsheets full of account names and either all or most of them would be
gone.”
The content
that was suppressed included right-wing and left-wing reports
critical of the dominant narrative advanced by the Democratic Party and the old
establishment wing of the Republican Party, which has been folded into the
Democratic Party. Threads from the Yellow Vests movement, activists from the
Occupy movement, Global Revolution Live, negative
stories about Joe Biden, reports on the Ukrainian energy company Burisma that paid Hunter
Biden about $1 million a year while his father was vice-president, positive
stories about Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro, reports about Ukrainian human rights abuses
and details of the
contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop were part of the plethora of accounts that
were flagged and disappeared.
