the Davos Great Reset

Important to understand is that there is not
one single new or original idea in
Klaus Schwab’s so-called Great Reset agenda for the world. Nor is his
Fourth Industrial Revolution agenda his or his claim to having invented the
notion of Stakeholder Capitalism a product of Schwab.
Klaus Schwab is little more than a slick PR agent for a global technocratic
agenda, a corporatist unity of corporate power with government,
including the UN, an agenda whose origins go back to the beginning of the
1970s, and even earlier. The Davos Great reset
is merely an updated blueprint for a global dystopian dictatorship under UN
control that has been decades in development. The key actors were David
Rockefeller and his protégé, Maurice Strong.
In the beginning of the 1970s, there was
arguably no one person more influential in world politics than the late
David Rockefeller, then largely known as chairman of Chase Manhattan Bank.
Creating the new paradigm
At the end of the 1960s and into the early
1970s, the international circles directly tied to David Rockefeller launched a
dazzling array of elite organizations and think tanks. These included The Club
of Rome; the 1001: A Nature Trust, tied to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF); the
Stockholm United Nations Earth Day conference; the MIT-authored study, Limits
to Growth; and David Rockefeller’s Trilateral Commission.

Stream Nuked?

The saga of the Nord Stream blow-up has been
confusing, and confused with multiple reporting on who-did-it, and who did not
do it, who had an interest, about the motives, and who was most suffering from
the blast. It seems the saga never ends.
Perhaps it should not end before the truth
has been found – and before the culprits are brought to justice, because this
is a crime of tremendous proportion.
In
early February 2023, US investigative journalist Seymour Hersh
released a report based on secret but he says highly reliable sources,
providing details of how the US intelligence agencies planned the sabotage
ordered by US President Joe Biden (confirmed at press conference on 7
February 2022). . . . .
Seymour
Hersh
revealed how the US Navy carried out the bombing with the cooperation of
Norwegian forces. After the report was published, Washington quickly
denied it.
The Blame Game. Who Did It?
This was the beginning of the blame game, who did it, how was it done and what were the motives. This
speculative debate has not ended – and there is no end in sight.
An Underwater
Tactical Nuclear Device?
However, about a month ago, Bombshell news, what appears to be
evidence for the “How”, emerged. According to mathematician, physicist and
geoscientist Professor Hans Benjamin Braun, the pipelines were devastated by an underwater tactical
nuclear device.
This was reported by Swiss journalist Christoph Pfluger during

A year prior to Italy’s 2022 elections, Giorgia Meloni was
invited to join the Aspen Institute, a
Washington based strategic think tank with close relations to the Council on
Foreign Relations (CFR), the Atlantic Council and the military industrial
complex:
“The Aspen
institute is also involved in the arms industry, with links to
arms manufacturing giants such as Boeing and Lockheed Martin. It has typically
supported the US’s “democracy-defending” or “democracy-propagating, humane and
civilized” wars”
Prominent US politicians including Madeleine
Albright, Condolezza Rice as well as Victoria Nuland have actively
collaborated with the Aspen Institute.
The Aspen Institute is
generously funded by the Gates Foundation, the Rockefellers,
Carnegie and the Ford Foundation, not to mention Goldman Sachs, which
over the years has played a key role in the “selection” of Italian politicians.
It is worth noting that on February 20, 2023,
Joe Biden made an unannounced visit to Kiev, meeting up with President Zelensky. And on the following day Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni promptly
followed suit, traveling to Kiev to meet up with
the corrupt Ukrainian president.
“She affirmed Italian support for Ukraine and
said that her government intends to supply Spada and Skyguard air defence systems to
the Ukrainian army”.
Is Italy’s Prime Minister Meloni
an “Instrument”, Political Asset of Washington? The answer is obvious.

Toward WW3 as More Warhawks Grab Power in Washington

It’s
hardly breaking news that there are numerous warhawks
among the political elites in Washington DC. These people have been behind
every instance of (geo)political instability initiated by the United States, be
it illegal coups, civil wars, invasions, etc, all of which resulted in an exponential
exacerbation of the supposed “problem” they were seemingly designed to
“resolve”. Such warhawks are
oftentimes so shamelessly belligerent that they don’t even bother concealing
their openly planned war crimes under the guise of the mythical “moral high
ground” used by other more subtle Washington DC warmongers.
It’s important to note that their style has
always been preying on the weak, as these warmongers mostly focus on bringing
the wanton “freedom and democracy” to those unable to retaliate or at least
defend themselves. Direct attacks are unmistakably preceded by economic warfare
(primarily
sanctions) and “isolation” by the so-called “international
community”, that is, the political West and its vassals and satellite states.
After all, those are the countries “that matter”, the much-touted “garden”,
while the rest of the world (or better said,
the actual world) is “simply a jungle”, as EU foreign
policy chief Josep Borrell
(in)famously stated.
And yet, in recent years, the warhawks have become so overconfident that they don’t even
consider the possibility of engaging in actual diplomacy (unless
arm-twisting is considered “diplomatic”), not even with countries that have the
means of bringing all the “freedom and democracy” the US “exports” back to it.
This includes not only “pocket superpowers” such as North Korea, but also geopolitical
giants wielding unprecedented military and/or economic might, such as Russia
and China, the two only near-peer adversaries to the United States. Such
dangerous trends in American politics are only getting worse.
Namely, as if there weren’t enough war
criminals in Washington DC, the US government is becoming a virtual hive of
such power circles. Infamous neoconservatives such as John Bolton, Michael McCaul and Lindsey Graham, whose political influence
has become dangerously powerful, are now getting significant backup that
includes rabid Russophobes and Sinophobes such as Victoria
Nuland and USAF General Charles Brown.
Such warhawks are now gaining even more influence,
meaning that America’s foreign policy is set to become more
belligerent than ever before (if that’s even imaginable to most people).
In early October last year, John Bolton,
former US National Security Advisor, infamous for his insistence on invading
Venezuela, Iran and North Korea or escalating the ongoing war of aggression
against Syria, Libya, Yemen, etc, openly stated
that Russian President Vladimir Putin is on the US target list and threatened he
might be assassinated. And while his directly visible political influence may
seem to be dwindling, Bolton’s close associates are grabbing more power than
ever. Namely, he was one of the most prominent members of the infamous
Washington DC-based think tank known as the Project for the New American
Century (PNAC).
PNAC’s main focus was making the already
extremely belligerent US foreign policy even more aggressive. One of the
original founders of the now-defunct think tank was Robert Kagan, notorious for being one of the strongest
proponents of America’s aggression against the world. There’s not a single war Kagan hasn’t supported. Worse yet, he regularly and
deliberately spreads disinformation in order to speed up wars, as evidenced by his unadulterated lies in years
before the illegal US invasion of Iraq. Kagan is the
husband of Victoria Nuland, who was directly
involved in the illegal Maidan coup that resulted in
the war in Donbass that killed upwards of 15,000
people by early 2022.
She was recently
promoted to acting Deputy Secretary of State by President Biden, placing her in
one of the most influential positions in the State Department, second only to
Secretary of State Antony Blinken. It should be noted
that while Nuland was serving in the Obama
administration, one of her phone calls with the then US ambassador
to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt was leaked. In February 2014,
she told Pyatt that Arseniy
Yatsenyuk will become the new prime minister of
Ukraine, which he did that same month. During the call, she also clearly
expressed her stance on the significance of the European Union in
decision-making when it comes to the political West’s foreign policy.
Nuland was one of the
architects of the Neo-Nazi junta’s seizure of power in Ukraine, making her
directly responsible for the ongoing hostilities. She also supported both US
terrorist attacks on the Nord Stream pipelines and the setting up of military biolabs in Ukraine. Her no less aggressive ally Lindsey Graham
also actively took part in pushing Ukraine into a
bloodbath, while also calling it the “best
money we’ve ever spent” because “Russians are dying”. He is also
notorious for actively calling for US aggression in
Mexico. The strong influence of such warhawks
exponentially raises the possibility of a world-ending thermonuclear
confrontation.
Unfortunately, this isn’t only limited to the
political establishment.
Namely, the Senate Arms Services Committee
recently voted to confirm General Charles Brown as the next
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, replacing Mark Milley.

The "Great
Zero Carbon" Conspiracy and the WEF's "Great Reset"

The globalist Davos
World Economic Forum is proclaiming the necessity of reaching a worldwide goal
of “net zero carbon” by 2050. This for most sounds far in the future and hence
largely ignored. Yet transformations underway from Germany to the USA, to
countless other economies, are setting the stage for creation of what in the
1970’s was called the New International
Economic Order.
In
reality it is a blueprint for a global technocratic totalitarian corporativism, one that promises huge unemployment,
deindustrialization and economic collapse by design. Consider some background.
The EU is leading the race, with a bold plan
to become the world’s first “carbon neutral” continent by 2050 and reduce its
CO2 emissions by at least 55% by 2030.
In an August, 2020 post on his blog, self-appointed
global vaccine czar Bill Gates wrote about the coming crisis in climate:
“As awful as this pandemic is, climate change
could be worse… The relatively small decline in emissions this year makes one
thing clear: We cannot get to zero emissions simply—or even mostly—by flying
and driving less.”
With a virtual monopoly on mainstream media as
well as social media, the Global Warming lobby has been able to lead much of
the world into assuming that the best for mankind is to eliminate hydrocarbons
including petroleum, natural gas, coal and even the “carbon free” nuclear
electricity by 2050, that we hopefully might avoid a 1.5 to 2 degree Centigrade
rise in average world temperature. There is only one problem with this. It’s
cover for a diabolical ulterior agenda.
Origins of ‘Global Warming’
Many have forgotten the original scientific
thesis put forward to justify a radical shift in our energy sources. It was not
“climate change.” Earth climate is constantly changing, correlated to changes
in the emission of solar flares or sunspot cycles affecting Earth climate.
Around the turn of the millennium as the
previous solar-led warming cycle was no longer evident, Al Gore and others
shifted the narrative in a linguistic sleight-of-hand to “Climate Change,” from
Global Warming. Now the fear narrative has gotten so absurd that every freak
weather event is treated as “climate crisis.” Every hurricane or winter storm
is claimed as proof that the Climate Gods are punishing us sinful CO2 emitting
humans.
But wait. The entire reason for the
transition to alternative energy sources such as solar or wind, and abandoning
carbon energy sources, is their claim that CO2 is a greenhouse gas that somehow
goes up to the atmosphere where it forms a blanket that supposedly warms the
Earth below—Global Warming. Greenhouse gas emissions according to the US
Environmental Protection Agency come mostly from CO2. Hence
the focus on “carbon footprints.”
What is almost never said is that CO2
cannot soar up into the atmosphere from car exhaust or coal plants or other
manmade origins. Carbon dioxide is not carbon or soot. It is an
invisible, odorless gas essential to plant photosynthesis and all life forms on
earth, including us. CO2 has a molecular weight of just over 44 while air
(mainly oxygen and nitrogen) has a molecular weight of only 29.
The specific gravity of CO2 is some 1.5 times
greater than air. That would suggest that CO2 exhaust gases from vehicles or
power plants do not rise into the atmosphere some 12 miles or more above Earth
to form the feared greenhouse effect.

The Looming Quadrillion Dollar
Derivatives Tsunami: ‘Financial Weapons of Mass Destruction’

On Friday, March 10, Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) collapsed and
was taken over by federal regulators. SVB
was the 16th largest bank in the country and its bankruptcy was
the second largest in U.S. history, following Washington Mutual in 2008.
Despite its size, SVB was not a
“systemically important financial institution” (SIFI) as defined in the
Dodd-Frank Act, which requires insolvent SIFIs to “bail in” the money of their
creditors to recapitalize themselves.
Technically,
the cutoff for SIFIs is $250 billion in assets.
However, the
reason they are called “systemically important” is not their asset size but
the fact that their failure could bring down the whole financial system. That
designation comes chiefly from their exposure to derivatives, the global casino
that is so highly interconnected that it is a “house of cards.” Pull out one
card and the whole house collapses. SVB held
$27.7 billion in derivatives, no small sum, but it is only 0.05% of the
$55,387 billion ($55.387 trillion) held by JPMorgan, the largest U.S.
derivatives bank.
SVB could
be the canary in the coal mine foreshadowing the fate of other over-extended
banks, but its collapse is not the sort of “systemic risk” predicted to trigger
“contagion.” As
reported by CNN:
“Despite
initial panic on Wall Street, analysts said SVB’s collapse is unlikely to set
off the kind of domino effect that gripped the banking industry during the
financial crisis.
‘The
system is as well-capitalized and liquid as it has ever been,’ Moody’s
chief economist Mark Zandi said. ‘The banks that are
now in trouble are much too small to be a meaningful threat to the broader
system.’
No later
than Monday morning, all insured depositors will have full access to their
insured deposits, according to the FDIC. It will pay uninsured depositors an
‘advance dividend within the next week.’”
A fuller
report on the collapse of SVB will have to wait on developments that occur over
the weekend and soon thereafter.
This
column, meanwhile, focuses on derivatives and is a followup
to my Feb. 23 column on
the “bail in” provisions of the 2010 Dodd Frank Act, which eliminated taxpayer
bailouts by requiring insolvent SIFIs to recapitalize themselves with the funds
of their creditors. “Creditors” are defined to include depositors, but deposits
under $250,000 are protected by FDIC insurance. However, the FDIC fund is
sufficient to cover only about 2% of the $9.6 trillion in U.S. insured
deposits. A nationwide crisis triggering bank runs across the country, as
happened in the early 1930s, would wipe out the fund. Today, some
financial pundits are predicting a crisis of that magnitude in the quadrillion
dollar-plus derivatives market, due to rapidly rising interest rates. This
column looks at how likely that is and what can be done either to prevent
it or dodge out of the way.

Harold Pinter Had
It Right. Lessons in Western Self-sabotage from the Ukraine War

The British playwright and Nobel Prize winner
Harold Pinter was an early
critic of the Bush administration’s decision, endorsed by British Prime
Minister Tony Blair, to declare
a worldwide war on Islamist terrorism in the aftermath of 9/11. In the fall of
2002, Pinter was invited to make his case against the war before the House of
Commons. He began his talk with a bit of embellished British history about an
earlier wave of terror in Ireland:
There’s an old story about Oliver Cromwell.
After he had taken the town of Drogheda the citizens were brought to the main
square. Cromwell announced to his Lieutenants: ‘Right! Kill all the women and
rape all the men.’ One of his aides said: ‘Excuse me General. Isn’t it the
other way around?’ A voice from the crowd called out: ‘Mr. Cromwell knows what
he’s doing!’
The voice in the crowd in Pinter’s telling
was Blair’s, but today it could be German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who has kept his silence about when and what he
knew about President Biden’s decision to mangle Germany’s economy by destroying
the Nord Stream pipelines last September.
There were two sets of pipelines, both
partially financed by Russian oligarchs who were beholden to President
Vladimir Putin. Nord Stream 1 went into operation in 2011, and within ten
years Russia was providing Germany more than half of its overall energy needs,
with most of the inexpensive gas targeted for industrial use. Nord Stream 2 was
completed by the summer of 2021, but never brought into use. By February 2022,
at the start of the war, Scholz halted the pipeline’s
certification process. Nord Stream 2 was loaded with gas meant for delivery to
Germany, but its huge payload was blocked on arrival by Scholz,
obviously at the request of the Biden administration.
Last September 26, the two pipelines were
destroyed by underwater bombs. It was not known at the time who
was responsible for the sabotage, amid the usual Western accusations against
Russia and Russian denials. In February, I published a detailed account of the White House’s role in the
attack, including an assertion that a major goal of Biden’s was to prevent Scholz from reversing his decision to stop the flow of
Russian gas to Germany. My account was denied by the White House and as of
today no government has accepted responsibility.
Germany muddled through last year’s
preternaturally warm winter, as the government provided generous energy
subsidies for homes and businesses. But since then, the lack of Russian gas has
been the major factor in rising energy costs that have led to a slowdown in the
German economy, the fourth largest in the world. The economic crunch resulted
in a rise of political opposition to the political coalition Scholz leads. Another divisive issue is the steady rise in
immigration applications from the Middle East and Africa and the more than one
million Ukrainians who have fled to Germany since the war in Ukraine began.
Polling in Germany has consistently shown
enormous discontent with the economic crisis it faces. One survey analyzed by
Bloomberg last month found that only 39 percent of German voters believe the
country will be a leading industrial nation in the next decade. The dispatch
specifically cited internal political infighting over the nation’s home and
business heating subsidy policies but did not mention a major cause of the
crisis—Biden’s decision to destroy the Nord Stream pipelines.
A review of recent reporting on the German
economic crisis in German, American, and international business
publications—much of it excellent—yielded not a single citation of the pipeline’s
destruction as a major reason for national pessimism. I couldn’t help wondering
what Pinter would have said about the self-censorship.

It’s never
a very enjoyable experience, facing the fact that you’ve been bamboozled.
Realizing that you’ve fallen prey to an elaborate con, or PYSOP, is painful.
It’s embarrassing. People feel ashamed. No one likes to see themselves as a
sucker. It’s humiliating. It makes people angry. It makes them want to lash out
at someone.
The funny
thing is, it usually isn’t the person who conned them
that they want to lash out at. Doing that would only make them feel more
ashamed. No, typically, who people want to lash out at, when they finally
realize that they’ve been bamboozled, are the people who didn’t get bamboozled
along with them, and who tried to warn them that they were being bamboozled.
This
phenomenon is occurring right now. I know this, because a certain sector of my
readers are angrily unsubscribing from my Substack,
and unfollowing me on Twitter, and so on. This
happens more or less every time that people start to realize I was right about
some PSYOP or con that I warned them about … Russiagate,
Covid, and now “free-speech Twitter,” or “X,” or
whatever we’re calling it today.
Yes,
that’s right, the jig is up. The bloom is off the rose. The cat is out of the
bag. The party is over. The thrill is gone. Folks are finally starting to
realize that “free-speech Twitter” was an elaborate con (or a PSYOP, depending
on how paranoid you are), and they’re none too happy about this realization.
So,
they’re taking it out on blasphemers like me who tried to warn them about The Emperor Elonicus, and how the Twitter Files was a textbook limited
hangout, and who pointed out how Musk shut it down as soon as it had served
its purpose, and who referred to some of them
as “Musk cultists,” and “suckers,” and who tweeted sarcastic Tweets like this …

Sweden’s “Psychological Defense
Agency” is Using Cold War Strategies to Combat “Disinformation”

censorship machine.
Sweden is
blaming Russia for the backlash it faces in the Islamic world because of
incidents, such as the burning of copies of Quran, that have occurred in that
country.
Apparently,
Muslims around the world, and in Sweden, would not be outraged by this if there
weren’t for Russia’s alleged campaign on social media to spread this
information. That is defined as “amplifying global reaction.”
At least,
that is being cited as the reason – or an excuse that few will dare criticize –
for yet another government devising and putting in motion plans to “combat
misinformation.”
Sweden
seems very eager to join that club, even if it doesn’t look like it’s brimming
with innovative ideas: namely, the Scandinavian country is going all the way
back to the Cold War playbook.
With the
stage set like this, enter the Ministry of Defense’s Psychological
Defense Agency, set up last year, but according to reports,
modeled after Sweden’s Cold War-era “solutions” in case of a hot war.
Just like
elsewhere around the world when (mis)information is
“fought” by introducing new agencies and increasing government intervention in
the realm of free speech, that often ends up in censorship – and often looks
like it was actually designed to promote censorship – the justification is that
such fundamental things like national security and democracy are under fire
from “misinformation.”
The
Psychological Defense Agency, which currently numbers 55 employees, is
explained as a necessity for a country which believes it is currently facing
the most serious security “situation” since WW2. At least that’s according to
Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.
Whether or
not Kristersson exaggerates the situation, thus
creating a “misinformation campaign” of his own aside, the Defense Ministry
outfit’s existence has produced some protestations.
Speaking
of threats to democracy – Hanna Linderstal of Earhart
Business Protection Agency noted that, “The government can’t control the truth
if it’s going to be a democracy.”
Meanwhile
Magnus Hjort, who heads the Psychological Defense
Agency, and others under his “command” have not publicly presented what
evidence they have of Russia being behind harmful to Sweden information
“amplification.”
But he did
reveal the agency is “regularly in touch” with social media companies –
denying, however, that they have demanded that accounts or content be taken
down.

“How US and UK Government
Propaganda Specialists Collaborated with Nazis in Ukraine

MintPress investigation has found that a host
of Western government officials, intelligence agents and assets have been
directly involved in intimate collaboration with Nazi groups and individuals
since at least 2014. This has included involvement in creating and operating
the Nazi-run kill list in Ukraine, which MintPress revealed
recently.
While
Western media have belatedly been forced to concede that there are Nazi influences in Ukraine, many

concept that a hurricane south of Hawaii caused the ‘climate change’ fires in
Maui is preposterous! According to a past weather graph, the temperatures
in Maui were normal, peaking at 88’, the wind speed was NE peaking at 25 mph at
noon. This is normal. Hurricane Dora never made landfall and was tracked 500
miles ‘south’ of Hawaii amidst Northeasterly winds blowing southwest. Maui is
north of Hawaii.
A normal ‘fast fire’ can travel up to 14 mph.
The Maui fire was stated to be traveling at 60 mph.
According to government officials, the vast
majority of the recent fires in Greece and Italy were arson. These coordinated
blazes also spread across Croatia, Portugal, Spain, and Algeria. In each
scenario, the respective governments blamed ‘arson terrorists’. NOT Climate Change!
Therefore, what if Hawaii was a tit-for-tat weaponized reaction to the China flooding? Or, what if it
was a US military exercise using Directed Energy Lasers – gone awry…?
Directed

Climate
change – climate change – climate change – the world is burning. The Global North
with the CO2 emission is the culprit. Weather maps in Southern Europe and
Australia are deep red. Add an invented degree or two, and they are going to be
black.
News are talking
about 48 to 50 and more degrees C in Spain, Southern Italy, Sicily, Greece. Scary. Hardly anybody notices and reports that the
temperatures are largely exaggerated by the media, to cause a fear and guilt
effect. Possibly a precursor to heat-lockdowns.
Meteorologists
are part of the lie-game. Often, for fear and shock effect, they are reporting
ground temperatures instead of air temperatures which are usually measured 2
meters above the ground and are typically 10 or more degrees C lower than
ground temps.
It is
like MK-Ultra has been socialized: When people see the deep-red-colored weather
map and are being told that temperatures are at record heights, in the upper
forties into the fifties, they feel the burning heat, they feel it is much
hotter than other years, when in fact it is not.

on the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) new rules to cut CO2 emissions
in electricity generation, arguing in testimony that the regulations “will be
disastrous for the country, for no scientifically justifiable reason.”
Citing extensive data (pdf) to support their case,
William Happer, professor emeritus in physics at
Princeton University, and Richard Lindzen, professor
emeritus of atmospheric science at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT),
argued that the claims used by the EPA to justify the new regulations are not
based on scientific facts but rather political opinions and speculative models
that have consistently proven to be wrong.
“The unscientific method of analysis, relying on consensus, peer review,
government opinion, models that do not work, cherry-picking data and omitting
voluminous contradictory data, is commonly employed in these studies and by the
EPA in the Proposed Rule,” Mr. Happer and Mr. Lindzen stated. “None of the studies provides scientific
knowledge, and thus none provides any scientific support for the Proposed
Rule.”
“All of the models that predict catastrophic global warming fail the key
test of the scientific method: they grossly overpredict
the warming versus actual data,” they stated. “The scientific method proves
there is no risk that fossil fuels and carbon dioxide will cause catastrophic
warming and extreme weather.”
Climate models like the ones that the EPA is using have been consistently
wrong for decades in predicting actual outcomes, Mr. Happer
told The Epoch Times.

France was once the colonial power controlling Niger, and still wields tremendous
influence over the nation’s economy. But this latest coup threatens all that,
especially France’s access to cheap yellowcake to run France’s nuclear power
plants.

At 3 a.m. on July 26, 2023, the presidential guard detained President Mohamed Bazoum in Niamey, the capital of Niger. Troops, led by Brigadier General Abdourahmane Tchiani closed the country’s borders and declared a curfew. The coup d’état was immediately condemned by the Economic Community of West African States, by the African Union, and by the European Union. Both France and the United States—which have military bases in Niger—said that they were watching the situation closely. A tussle between the Army—which claimed to be pro-Bazoum—and the presidential guard threatened the capital, but it soon fizzled out. On July 27, General Abdou Sidikou Issa of the army released a statement saying that he would accept the situation to “avoid a deadly confrontation between the different forces which… could cause a bloodbath.” Brigadier General Tchiani went on television on July 28 to announce that he was the new president of the National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland (Conseil National pour la Sauvegarde de la Patrie or CNSP).
The coup in Niger follows similar coups in Mali (August 2020 and May 2021) and Burkina Faso (January 2022 and September 2022), and Guinea (September 2021). Each of these coups was led by military officers angered by the presence of French and U.S. troops and by the permanent economic crises inflicted on their countries. This region of Africa—the Sahel—has faced a cascade of crises: the desiccation of the land due to the climate catastrophe, the rise of Islamic militancy due to the 2011 NATO war in Libya, the increase in smuggling networks to traffic weapons, humans, and drugs across the desert, the appropriation of natural resources—including uranium and gold—by Western companies that have simply not paid adequately for these riches, and the entrenchment of Western military forces through the construction of bases and the operation of these armies with impunity.
Two days after the coup, the CNSP announced the names of the 10 officers who lead the CNSP. They come from the entire range of the armed forces, from the army (General Mohamed Toumba) to the Air Force (Colonel Major Amadou Abouramane) to the national police (Deputy General Manager Assahaba Ebankawel). It is by now clear that one of the most influential members of the CNSP is General Salifou Mody, former chief of staff of the military and leader in the Supreme Council for the Restoration of Democracy, which led the February 2010 coup against President Mamadou Tandja and which governed Niger until Bazoum’s predecessor Mahamadou Issoufou won the 2011 presidential election. It was during Issoufou’s time in office that the United States government built the world’s largest drone base in Agadez and that the French special forces garrisoned the city of Irlit on behalf of the uranium mining company Orano (formerly a part of Areva).
It is important to note that General Salifou Mody is perceived as an influential member of CNSP given his influence in the army and his international contacts. On February 28, 2023, Mody met with the United States Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley during the African Chiefs of Defense Conference in Rome to discuss “regional stability, including counterterrorism cooperation and the continued fight against violent extremism in the region.” On March 9, Mody visited Mali to meet with Colonel Assimi Goïta and the Chief of Staff of the Malian army General Oumar Diarra to strengthen military cooperation between Niger and Mali. A few days later on March 16, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited Niger to meet with Bazoum. In what many in Niger perceived as a sidelining of Mody, he was appointed on June 1 as the Nigerien ambassador to the United Arab Emirates. Mody, it is said in Niamey, is the voice in the ear of Brigadier General Tchiani, the titular head of state.

Niger is shaping up to be the surprising frontline of the new Cold War. Yesterday, the 15-member Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) ordered the “activation” and “deployment” of “standby” military forces to the country, an action that threatens to spark a major international war that could make Syria look minor by comparison.
In this venture, ECOWAS has been fully supported by the United States and Europe, leading many to suspect it is being used as an imperial vehicle to stamp out anti-colonial projects in West Africa.
On July 26, a group of Nigerien officers overthrew the corrupt government of Mohamed Bazoum. The move, which the junta presents as a patriotic uprising against a Western puppet, is widely popular in the country, and many of Niger’s neighbors have declared that any attack on it will be considered an attack on all their sovereignty. The United States and France are also considering military action, while many in Niger are calling for Russian aid.
Consequentially, the world waits to see if the region will be engulfed in a war that promises to pull in many of the major global powers.
But what is ECOWAS? And why do so many in Africa consider the organization a tool of Western neocolonialism?

All Africans Should Condemn the Call for an ECOWAS-led Military Invasion
of Niger

The Africa
Team of the Black Alliance for Peace (BAP) and the U.S. Out of Africa Network
(USOAN) condemn the threats of the Economic Community of West African States
(ECOWAS) to lead a military intervention into Niger. We believe this would be
an act of subservience to U.S./EU/NATO interests. As Western imperialism seems
to be losing its neo-colonialist grip on Africa, it is trying to expand its use
of puppets and proxies to undermine resistance.
The military
coup in Niger on July 26 deposed President Mohamed Bazoum
and installed General Abdourahamane Tchiani as the country's new leader. In power since 2021, Bazoum and his party were reliable servants of French and
U.S. imperialism. This may help explain why the United States and its NATO
allies seemed overly concerned about this particular coup.
The West’s
hypocritical claims of standing for “democracy” in Niger fall flat when
compared to its response to the military coup in Sudan as well as the political
repression faced by the popular movement in that country. The United States
(and its Western partners) has had a hand in orchestrating countless coups in
Africa, such as those against democratically elected leaders Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana, Patrice Lumumba of the Democratic
Republic of the Congo (DRC), and Thomas Sankara of
Burkina Faso, to name a few.
The objective
of the U.S./EU/NATO Axis of Domination is colonial control of Niger and the
Sahel region. France and other EU countries rely on Niger for 15-30 percent of
their uranium imports, critical to Europe's nuclear energy sector. Meanwhile,
the majority of Niger’s population doesn’t even have access to electricity.
Furthermore, Niger is the last state in West Africa where a large number of
Western soldiers are stationed under the U.S. “War on Terror” regime. The $100
million U.S. base in Agadez, Niger, is where the U.S.
Africa Command (AFRICOM) operates its drones, and is just one such AFRICOM
facility in that country.
As Ezra Otieno, member of the Revolutionary Socialist League in
Kenya and BAP’s U.S. Out of Africa Network Steering Committee, says:
“For all of
these factors, France, the EU, and the U.S. are keen to maintain control over
Niger. They aim to push the new authorities to restore their puppet Bazoum or to reach an arrangement with General Tchiani to maintain his predecessor's pro-Western stance.
If these preparations fail within the next few days, Western imperialists want
to intervene militarily with the support of their foot soldiers in the
Nigeria-dominated ECOWAS bloc.”
It is clear
that the United States and France have decided to draw a line here before
France is expelled and U.S. interests are threatened. Without NATO, the United
States or France, ECOWAS would not be able to intervene. It is telling that, of
all the coups in Africa, ECOWAS is ready to intervene militarily in Niger. This
is because their masters in the West demand it. Apparently, ECOWAS member
states have chosen servitude to imperialism over the people's will.
In Haiti, the
imperialists use Kenya and the Caribbean Community
(CARICOM) as cover for their intervention. To do the
same for the coup in Niger, they have the President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and ECOWAS. Now they are facing a united front
composed of Burkina Faso, and Mali, whose leadership have
all expressed support for Niger’s sovereignty. While the CNRD of Guinea, Comité national du rassemblement et du développement (National
Committee of Reconciliation and Development) is not part of the front, their
Spokesperson, Aminata Diallo
said that if “…requested by ECOWAS to send troops that we would refuse…”
ECOWAS is working as a comprador structure, along with the West African
Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA), which has levied financial sanctions
against Niger and the coup leaders. The situation in Niger demands an African
response, not the imperialist-led and anti-people militarized one suggested by
members of ECOWAS.
The Black Alliance for Peace October 2023 International Month of Action
against western militarization of the African continent, demanding that the
U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) is shut down, will be more important than ever
before. The annual Month of Action is an opportunity for political education
and action that links the domestic war being waged against African peoples in
the United States with the war that the United States wages on the continent of
Africa and globally.

Tracking West Africa's Economic Potential: Tackling the Challenges and
Future Perspectives

As part of
efforts to build a more resilient regional economy largely depends on several
factors. What specifically is under discussion here is the Economic Community
of West African States (ECOWAS), and the strategic mechanism through
which the region’s economy can be raised up to standard, taking cognizance of
the fast growing population and its associated demand for employment and
ensuring food security as well as sustaining certain level of appreciable
living standards.
Understanding
explicitly the enormous untapped resources, both natural and human, is very
essential and indivisible interconnected to the West African region’s
development. As we know, there are 16 member states constituting the regional
bloc, ECOWAS. As mid-July 2023, the World Population Review and the World Atlas, both estimated population 439 million. More than half
of the population is under the age of 25. In fact, Africa’s population is
exceptionally young compared to other world regions that have been aging at a
fast rate, and demographers indicated that the region’s population will
experience either steady or rapid growth.
For three
decades, at least, in our faculty academic studies and research, part of the
written research papers at conferences unpack lessons on the relationships
between demographic growth and economic development in Africa. That is to say
Africa’s demographic profile has played a key role in its development.
Specifically for West Africa, governments have to capitalise
on its demographic profile through policies, engage them with them in various
sectors especially in food production sectors for two main reasons: to ensure
food security and to sustain supply of raw materials for the industry. These
make it important to capture youthful working-age population.
As early as
the 1990s, I suggested in one of my papers during academic heated discussions
that West African governments must focused on those with a sizeable proportion
of working age people – and set out policies and where appropriate adjust its
development policy direction. It has to do with government policy-makers and
development practitioners in the context of African development. Little late is
better than never, so ultimately the growth rate is not interpreted as a
barrier but rather as an impetus to drive and promote economic progress.
There are
natural resources including the vast expanse of uncultivated land. Many of the
surface water resources are inappropriately utilised
while large amounts of deep-seated mineral resources are not exploited and use
in developing the badly-needed infrastructure. Africa’s level
of industrialisation still far behind expectation.
In dissecting
a bit of factor analysis, politicians and economists argue and accept Africa’s
huge human resources, even as the current population growth rate shows. Youth
empowerment and training must also form the main key component in development
policy. Today’s youth are internet savvy, future-oriented. The youth are
continuing to drive major economic development, industrial production and its
related emerging markets across borders.
Many people
associate under development to policies. While this is partly the bulk of
factors hindering development process, we may find out that modern technologies
have a larger role to play here, to tackle the expected progressive changes in
our present-day society. But some experts still have points of their argument,
attributing them also to technological education and training as a necessary
part of building the path towards a more prosperous future.
Quite
recently, Kenyan President William Ruto’s article
published in Business & Financial Times, underlined the various points
already discussed above in this article. We know and believe that those factors
can play an important role in diversifying and leveraging unto the continent’s
natural endowments essential to the overall development. This is especially
true, in this development paradigm, not for peculiar for West Africa but the
whole of Africa.
The economic
and social benefits of prioritising the factors above
could be huge. Nevertheless, another major impediment is all kinds of social
and political, religious and ethnic conflicts which are dominant in the
society. Terrorist organisations operating in the
Sahel, including Boko Haram,
Islamic State and al-Qaeda in the Maghreb, have greatly exacerbated the
violence, extremism and instability of the region.
As is well
known, in West Africa, nearly all the 16 member states are experiencing, in one
way of the other, these conflicts. For instance, Amnesty International and
Human Rights Watch said in a report that not less than 1,100 defenseless
Christians were hacked to death by Nigerian Government backed Islamic Jihadists
in 60 days or between 12th April and 12th June 2023. And this is a drop in the
ocean.
The Sahel is
a region in Africa. It is defined as the eco-climatic and bio-geographic realm
of transition between the Sahara to the north and the Sudanese savanna to the
south. This belt is located between the Sahara and the coastal areas of West
Africa. The political and economic situation in the Sahel region is constantly
and rapidly deteriorating. There are frequent shortages of food and water due
to the dry harsh climate. This is exacerbated by the population increasing
rapidly due to very high birth rates across the region,
Niger has the world’s highest fertility rate.
This climate
change caused lakes and rivers to shrink significantly and caused increasing
desertification. This, in turn, decreased the amount of land conducive to
settlements and caused migrations of farming communities to the more humid
climate of West Africa. For the purpose of deepening the discussion, it is
therefore necessary to bring into an attentive focus particularly also the
current political conflict in Sudan which has already impacted negatively on
the economy, created thousands of civilian refugees and displaced persons,
according to reports by the United Nations.
Rights organisations have done extensive reports about the human
catastrophe and social dimensions. It is not different from what persists in
other part of Africa. The Sudan’s conflict forced more than 2.4 million people
to flee their homes for safer areas inside the country, according to the
International Organisation for Migration.

In response, (the late) Dr. Andreas Noack released a scathing video commenting on Dr. Campra’s report. Dr. Noack is a chemist and the world’s leading expert in activated carbon engineering and GRAPHENE. Dr. Noack did his PhD doctoral thesis on how to turn Graphene Oxide into Graphene Hydroxide.
The video is of crucial importance. Dr. Noack said that two of the frequency bands that Dr. Campra detected were of Graphene Hydroxide. Those of us
in the ‘resistance’ or ‘opposition’ — we skeptics who question and have
questioned the covidian debacle and all of
its accoutrements — seem inevitably to fall into discussions about
the Jab. Deaths, adverse events, excess mortality, turbo cancers, immune dysregulation — you name it — but it is almost as if the
Jab is some kind of black hole with a gravitational pull that sucks us all in
and, in the end, directs our tactics and strategy rather monomaniacally
for dealing with the Covidian Onslaught.
Let me be
clear about my own position. From the beginning, when Covid
Mania swept across the world, I felt that there was never a need for a vaccine
of any kind.
First,
because the illness or conglomeration of symptoms that appeared to be the result
of a contagious pathogen was never as lethal as the Corporate Media led us to
believe. It was, in fact, no more lethal than a bad flu, as eminent
epidemiologist John Ioannidis demonstrated relatively early.
Second,
because treatments for the illness had also been developed and appeared to have
been quite successful. Third, because I had faith in sound preventive measures
such as sunlight, exercise, nutrition, the vitamins C and D, among others, as
well as the wisdom and strength of our natural immune response.
During one
interview I said, in fact, that the only way I would receive the Covid Jab would be if I were shot dead first.
As events unfolded in 2020 and beyond, the push for the Jab as the only
way out of the pandemic that never really was, became quite intense. Big Pharma could certainly smell the massive profits, profits
guaranteed by agreements that absolved these manufacturers from any harms
associated with their product, and governments around the world colluded by
seducing, cajoling and then, ultimately, coercing people into receiving the
one-size-fits-all solution.
At first they
told us the Jab was our only way out, and that it prevented us from getting,
transmitting and dying from Covid. The Jabs of course
did nothing of the sort. Their mechanisms of action, which included tampering
with our genome and manufacturing a spike protein in numbers far exceeding what
could occur with a natural infection, bespoke disaster. And, indeed, disaster
has befallen and disaster will, I am certain, only worsen, for those who were
either naive, terrified, gullible, stupid or indifferent enough to queue up for
inoculations, and for those who were coerced into receiving them upon pain of
loss of income and loss of inclusion in society.
The Jab,
however, disastrous as it is, is but one of a number of instruments employed to
do us harm.
Let’s not
forget the effects of the lockdowns, masking, ‘social’ distancing; let’s not
forget the active suppression of early treatment; let’s not forget the
demolition of small businesses and the upwards transfer of trillions to the
already super-rich; let’s not
forget the ceaseless and unremitting drumbeat of fear; let’s not forget how our
medical and governmental institutions betrayed our trust; let’s not forget the
intrusions upon our privacy and our bank accounts, and the stalwart push for
universal health passes and digital identification.
We are, and
have been, buffeted on many fronts, with a single end in sight for those in the
Globalist Mafia Cartel who have been doing the buffeting: murder and
enslavement.
How may we,
who can see the agenda, best combat the onslaught? Is
it by showing over and over the many instances of Jab-related adverse events
and sudden deaths? Or is it by planting our stake in the ground in defense of
basic human rights and freedoms?
I have argued
and continue to argue that there will always be another Jab — in fact, there
will be a plethora of Jabs in our future. The more fundamental and abiding issue is
preservation of our unalienable rights to physical and mental sovereignty and
freedom of expression.
We must
understand that this massive and unique Covid psyops, global in scope and relentless in pressure, has
been deviously constructed to be impervious to logical rebuttal. For example, a neighbour
of mine who nearly died from a blood clot, was told by her doctors not that the
Covid Jab may have been a causative factor, but that Covid itself was. In the face of our rightful assertions
that the Covid Jab is dangerous, a Jab recipient who
is healthy will think we’re crazy, thanks to fate, human individuality and
resilience, and/or variable Jab batches.
It is now
time for us to draw the larger picture for those who are sitting on the fence
or wandering the pastures on its other side. The larger picture of how the Few
are oppressing the Many, of how the rights we are born with — rights not
conferred or bequeathed by governments — are being trampled, and how censoring
dissident and questioning voices is never and has never been the work of
democratically-oriented societies.
At the
Parliament Protest of 2022 here in Wellington, New Zealand, people from all
walks and echelons of the citizenry came together, in unity, against the
unlawful and unjustifiable imposition of mandates, against the usurpation of our most cherished,
fundamental and precious human inheritance: autonomy and freedom.
Directing our
energies to this transcendent matter, the matter of preserving autonomy and
freedom and choice, is
paramount — and positive — and far more likely to breach the resistance of
sleepwalkers than a focus on the perils of the Jab which they themselves have
taken so readily, given their unshakable and unquestioning belief in the
wondrous benevolence of vaccine medicine.
Let’s get
started, let’s emphasize freedom and social connections and a new way of
healing and let us, in so doing, lead by example.

The host, Dr. Jane Ruby, pointed out that there are two main ways the injections – whatever is in them – can be transferred to another person who is not vaccinated. This could be through inhalation or skin-to-skin contact.

Van Welberger said that in looking at the pure blood smears, which he took straight from an individual to the microscope, he noticed that the unstained blood “started picking up unusual, tiny structures” that he has never seen before.
He then presented data showing that red blood cells – which are usually round and doughnut-shaped – have been damaged by the spike protein. Those cells have become quadrangles or octagon-shaped instead of round. They have become messed up due to the spike protein damage and cannot be restored. Fears about a
revival of the 1990s’ Balkans conflict have resulted from the flaring of
renewed tensions between Serbia and Kosovo. Time magazine reported that, in
May, Kosovo police raided Serb-dominated areas in the region’s north and seized
local municipal buildings. Further, Kosovo’s police and NATO-led peacekeepers engaged
local Serbs in clashes that led to dozens of people being injured on both
sides.
Traditionally,
Kosovo was a province of Serbia but declared its illegal, unconstitutional,
unilateral, pseudo independence in 2008 with U.S.-NATO backing—nine years after
a U.S.-NATO bombing campaign targeted the Serbs that helped establish ethnic
Albanian rule in Kosovo.
New reports
prepared by U.S. diplomats which were released by WikiLeaks
and the British Guardian in
2010 uncovered the details of how the Western powers used all diplomatic
ways and means to try to engineer the independence of Kosovo and get support
for that from Russia. Certain cables by Western diplomats reveal how France
and the U.S. had tried to maneuver so that Serbia could get the Agreement for
Stabilization and EU Accession (SAA) as well as NATO membership in the
Partnership for Peace.
The
diplomatic correspondence cables by the U.S. Ambassador to France, Craig
Stapleton, written on December 12, 2006, detail a conversation between Daniel
Freed, the Assistant to the U.S. Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia with
Maurice Gourdault-Montagne, foreign policy adviser to
then-French President Jacques Chirac, held on December 7, 2006, in Paris,
France.
The French
president’s adviser talked then about the plans by France to convince the EU to
offer Serbia membership in SAA designed to
get it into the EU, regardless of the unfinished obligation of full cooperation
with The Hague Tribunal. They were worried about the explicit threats by
then-Russian President Vladimir Putin that he would veto the UN Security
Council resolution on the Kosovo issue.
In the cable,
which was marked as secret, it is relayed that Freed said that the West should
prepare themselves to act without the Russians, and that the U.S. decided to
offer Serbia Partnership for Peace (prelude to NATO membership) as well as the
support for democratic forces within the country on the eve of the elections
and that President Boris Tadić created a good
foundation for a Euro-Atlantic future for Serbia.

Seoul on Saturday to protest against Japan’s plan to release treated
radioactive water from the tsunami-wrecked Fukushima nuclear power plant into

August, citing unidentified government sources.
“If it is discarded, radioactive substances contained in

anniversaries of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki present an
opportunity to demolish a cornerstone myth of American history — that those
twin acts of mass civilian slaughter were necessary to bring about Japan’s
surrender, and spare a half-million U.S. soldiers who would have have otherwise died in a military conquest of the empire’s
home islands.
Those who
attack this mythology are often reflexively dismissed as unpatriotic,
ill-informed or both. However, the most compelling witnesses against the
conventional wisdom were patriots with a unique grasp on the state of affairs
in August 1945 — America’s senior military leaders of World War II.
Let’s first
hear what they had to say, and then examine key facts that led them to their
little-publicized convictions:

General Dwight Eisenhower on learning
of the planned bombings: “I had been conscious of a feeling of depression and
voiced to [Secretary of War Stimson] my grave misgivings, first on the basis of

Putting out
feelers through third-party diplomatic channels, the Japanese were seeking to
end the war weeks before the atomic bombings on August 6 and 9, 1945. Japan’s
navy and air forces were decimated, and its homeland subjected to a sea
blockade and allied bombing carried out against little resistance.

ability to destabilize whole regions with a military reach that spans the
globe. And indeed, it is important to note that the Russian “special military
operation” directed against Ukraine would not have happened at all if the Joe
Biden Administration had simply indicated clearly and non-ambiguously to the
Russian government that there was no intention of allowing Ukraine to join the
North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) alliance. Ironically, the White House
knew very well that inviting Kiev to enter into the alliance was a legitimate
red-line, existential issue for the Kremlin, but opted to push hard on the
issue instead. Instead of opting for a negotiated peaceful settlement, Biden
and his clown show foreign and national security policy team opted to kill
possibly hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians and Russians to somehow “weaken”
Russia, an intention that has borne no fruit even after more than a year and a
half of fighting.
So yes, by
the world’s reckoning the United States of American is both “exceptional” and
“number one,” which a series of White House inhabitants have aspired to, though
perhaps not in the same way as buffoons like Senators Tom Cotton and Ted
Cruz refer to it. Most non-Americans see the US as the greatest threat to
world peace. And then there is America’s “closest ally and best friend in the
whole world” Israel in second place, a government which commits crimes against
humanity and even war crimes on a nearly daily basis with absolute impunity as
it is protected and defended by the very same United States, where the Jewish
state runs the foremost and most powerful foreign policy lobby. It is a lobby
that has inserted itself in all levels of government and which has corrupted
huge majorities of politicians and both major political parties while also
controlling the “message” on the Middle East promoted by the media.
Even as I
write this, 41 Democratic Party politicians are spending their recess
on a Lobby sponsored trip to Israel. Their leaders include the inimitable
traitor 80 year old Congressman Steny Hoyer of
Maryland, who is on his twenty-third trip to the country that he loves and admires beyond all others, and House Democratic
Leader Hakeem Jeffries. Jeffries is on his second trip to Israel this
year. He should be ashamed but, of course, isn’t. It is the largest-ever
delegation of Democratic lawmakers on a tour of Israel, sponsored in this case
by the American Israel Education Foundation, an affiliate of the American
Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). Not to be outdone House Speaker Kevin
McCarthy is leading 31 Republican Congressmen on the same mission though
the groups will not mingle and the speaker will be careful to render his own
obeisance separately to the Israeli leadership.
The Democrats
and Republicans, will as always be unable to enunciate any good reasons for
American bondage to Israel beyond bromides like “Israel has a right to defend itself,”
which will be repeated over and over before the Solons head back to Washington
to send billions more of US taxpayer dollars to the Jewish state. While in
Israel they will be fed a special diet of “all Arabs are terrorists” and good
old Steny will be nodding his head in time with the
song. That is before he and his colleagues engage in crawling on their bellies
before Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a sign of their
total submission to his will.
If one is
seeking a single example of the failure of the United States and its ally
Israel to abide by the clearly mythical “rules based international order” one
might well examine what is going on in Syria, where both the US and the Jewish
state have been punishing the country through lethal sanctions and direct
military intervention for many years with no sign that the interaction will be
ending any time soon. The activity is rarely reported in the US and European
media, which somehow has decided that Syrian President Bashar
al-Assad is some kind of tyrant who deserves whatever he gets, even if it is
dished out by “apartheid” Israel and the clueless US, which has been illegally
militarily occupying roughlyone third of Syria since 2015,
including the areas that have producing oil facilities and good agricultural
land, both of which are being exploited or stolen. Israel meanwhile has annexed
the Syrian Golan Heights, which it occupied in 1967. Donald Trump gave his
blessing to the illegal annexation and also gave his consent to whatever the
Jewish state decides to do both with the Syrians and the Palestinians while
also conniving at the nearly daily air attacks carried out by Israel against
targets in both Palestine-Gaza and Syria, killing scores of local soldiers and
civilians.

Zionism
The term
Zionism is derived from the word Zion that in the Hebrew language and
cultural-historical tradition of the Jews refers to the citadel (acropolis) of
the city of Jerusalem as well as to the Kingdom of Heaven. From the matter of
politics, Zionism refers to the political-national movement of the European
Jews in the very late 19th century for the very purpose to re-create
a Jewish homeland in the form of a nation-state in the Middle East – Israel.[i]
This Zionist
movement was to a great extent expressed as a consequence of the European
(mostly West European) anti-Semitic (better to say anti-Judaic) sentiments and
politics that the (West) European Jews were experiencing for centuries.[ii]
Zionism as a political-national movement was formally initiated by Theodor
Herzl (1860−1904) at the World’s Zionist Conference in Basle
(Switzerland) or the First World’s Zionist Congress held from August 29 to 31st,
1897 attended by 208 delegates and 26 representatives of the press.[iii]
Th. Herzl was
born in Budapest. He was an assimilated Jew who became a journalist in Vienna
and was the Paris correspondent of the newspaper Neu Freie Presse
in 1891−1895. The Dreyfus
Affair which started
in December 1894 found his interest in anti-Semitism and how to solve the
Jewish Question. He published the book in German Der Judenstaat in 1896 in which he
claimed that the creation of the Jewish nation-state in Palestine can be the
only effective response to centuries of European anti-Semitism. He devoted the
rest of his life to the propagation and realization of this idea and for that
purpose, he established the World’s Zionist Organization (the WZO), which was
convened at the First World’s Zionist Congress in Switzerland in 1897.
From the end
of the 19th century onward, (basically after 1897) there have been
organized attempts to persuade the European Jews to emigrate to the Land of
Israel or known as Palestine. However, it was not at first unquestioned that
the Jewish nation-state had to be in Palestine exactly. For example, Chaim Weizmann (1874−1952) who became the first
Israeli President, was quite influential in the
process of creating this political task. He became very much encouraged by the
declaration of the British Foreign Secretary, Arthur James Balfour (the
Balfour Declaration) in the form of the letter sent on November 2nd,
1917 to Lord Rothschild as the UK favored the establishment of a Jewish
nation-state exactly in Palestine/Israel. After WWI, the European Jews
continued to emigrate to Palestine in rather small numbers and, therefore, the Jewish
state of Israel might have been for a very long time away to be established if
not happened the holocaust of the Jews by the Nazis and their collaborators
from 1933 to 1945, which, in fact, morally gave the legitimization to the idea
of Israel to Jews and non-Jews (the Palestinians) alike as the only solution
where the Jews might feel safe from the persecutions and
exterminations.[iv]

intrigued audiences with their adrenaline-fuelled narratives and raw human
emotions.
But few films
have been able to capture Palestinian prisoners’
sheer audacity, spotlighting their ongoing yearning for freedoms that have been
taken away.
Palestinian
Prison Break, a new documentary by the visionary
filmmaker Mohammad Sawwaf, follows six attempts to
escape from maximum-security Israeli prisons between 1987 and 2004, taking us on a
journey that delves deep into the meaning of freedom for Palestinian prisoners.
It explores the psyches of the imprisoned and imprisoner alike.
The
prisoner’s mind is like a whirlpool, turning and turning, trying to deal with
one key dilemma: how to reclaim one’s stolen freedom. As
freed Palestinian prisoner Imad al-Din al-Saftawi, who was held in Israeli occupation jails for 18 years, said in the film: “To be imprisoned is
the worst thing that could happen in your life.”
The Israeli prison system has been using ever-more punitive measures
to make its jails – which are located at remote, isolated sites –
even more secure.
These include dogs trained to detect suspicious activity, surveillance
equipment and watchtowers. Given such tough measures, one might think escape
sounds far-fetched. But do such strict conditions deter or break prisoners’
wills? Unlikely.

Israeli
protests have attracted wide coverage in Western media, which has been largely
and blatantly laudatory. The aim of Western liberals is linked to Israeli
opponents of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu – to unseat Likud from power.
But the
protests reveal only a partial picture of Israeli politics and society because,
since 1948, Western media has downplayed the existence of non-liberal and
religious Israelis, especially those who do not descend from Europe. Israeli
writer Amos Oz famously blamed the rise of Likud after 1977 on the demography
of Jews from Middle East countries, which weakened European Jews’ continued
dominance of Israeli politics.
Western
media, and even some Arab media, like the Saudi mouthpiece, Ash-Sharq Al-Awsat, lambasted Palestinians and Arabs for not
showing support and even interest in the Israeli protest movement. It is true
the Palestinians, and Arabs in general, have largely reacted apathetically to
recent Israeli domestic events. The protests have been over a bill, now passed
by the Knesset, which would weaken the power of Israeli courts.
