The alienation we are experiencing today is
palpable, even among the traditionally protected and privileged class of
citizens. The capitalist profit motive is rife with contradictions,
and the usual bread-and-circus tactics used for mass distraction is wearing thin.
The classic 19th-century Marxist strategy
of taking control of the state (as the only legitimate monopoly of violent force) away from private capitalist interests
and directing it toward the interests
of the working class and their allies is profoundly discredited
by such histories as the Gulag in the former Soviet Union and "The Great Leap Forward"
in Communist China, both of which represent human sacrifice at a magnitude of tens of
millions (more than 1.5 million deaths from the 18 million people who passed through the Russian Gulag system, between 1918 and 1956; and over 30 millions deaths from GLF-induced famine in China, from 1960 to 1962).** Like their mortal enemy, the for-profit capitalist class, the centralized Communist Party devoted
itself to the principle of “ends justify means.” And the immortal words of
British Lord Acton echo through the vast graveyards of history:
“Power corrupts, and
absolute power corrupts absolutely.”
What is true for the Monopoly Capitalist system was
also true for the Communist state system. The human cost is unconscionable!

Here we do not focus on the so-called elites, who purportedly control the
system that rules us, but rather on the system
itself that creates this illusion of absolute control from the top. The
systemic dynamic of dialectical materialism is essential if we wish to understand
the many contradictions which determine: Who we are, How we
got to this point, and What possibilities we have to emancipate ourselves from this seemingly
endless bondage of alienation, exploitation, and self-destruction.
The experience of this alienation and bondage is successfully
expressed sometimes in popular art. One occasion is David Bowie’s 1969
production of the song “Space Oddity.” (It is up to us to complete our
understanding of this system that consumes us and to appreciate “dialectical materialism
with soul” in the remorseless class society in which we are all trying to live.)

Wikipedia is the most biased encyclopedia in history, having

According to Wikipedia cofounder Larry Sanger, U.S.
intelligence has been manipulating the online encyclopedia since at least 2008,
if not longer.
Sanger noticed a bias creeping in around 2006,

articles about Eastern Medicine were being changed to reflect blatantly biased
positions, using “dismissive epithets” to paint this ancient tradition as

More revelations are coming to light
as part of the “Facebook Files” detailing the
mechanism of censorship pushed by the Biden administration around Covid vaccine hesitancy.
Knowing
that the statistics supposedly proving that one group of people – the so-called
“Disinformation Dozen” – was responsible for the majority of alleged
anti-vaccine content, were hugely overblown was enough to dissuade either the
White House or Facebook from carrying out censorship.
The latter
did so under pressure from the former, internal documents now show. And behind
it all was the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), a foreign, UK-based
self-styled misinformation crusader.
The term
“Disinformation Dozen” refers to Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and 11 others, and the
claim made by CCDH was that they were responsible for as much as 65 percent (in
some instances the figure of 73 percent was being thrown around) of
“anti-vaccine misinformation” on social networks.
But Facebook knew that the figure was in reality something
around 0.05 percent, and tried to find ways to avoid what an internal Facebook email dated April 7, 2021, referred to as acting
“out of the misinfo” realm – if content from the 12
accounts, described as “completely benign,” was to be removed, as demanded by
the Biden administration.

World War III has already begun. You simply aren’t being told this because your government and dishonest media outlets are dedicated to keeping you in the dark. After all, they want to use the remaining time to stockpile food, ammunition, medical supplies and precious metals for themselves, and this can only be accomplished by withholding the truth about the situation for as long as possible.
The President of Serbia may be an exception to this, as he is now publicly warning that the world is about to experience a “great world conflict” that will likely begin in the next two months.
“Aleksandar Vucic made the alarming comments during the first day of the UN General Assembly session in New York,” reports Paul Joseph Watson at Summit.news. The full quote from Vucic is:
I assume that we’re leaving the phase of the special military operation and approaching a major armed conflict, and now the question becomes where is the line, and whether after a certain time – maybe a month or two, even – we will enter a great world conflict not seen since the Second World War.
NATO is already at war with Russia, and Putin is gearing up for a continental battle
What’s happening is that psychopathic western nations have — the real aggressors in this war — have unleashed not just “suicide sanctions” against Russia, but are also running Ukraine’s military operations against Russia. This means NATO is already in the war, even if NATO won’t admit it yet. Worse yet, NATO leaders are openly demanding the complete destruction of Russia and the occupation / exploitation of Russia’s natural resources, which is of course the entire model of global exploitation and pillaging typically carried out by the west. (Disrupt, pillage, control. That’s the CIA model that has been unleashed against other nations for decades…)
Conditions are already long past the point of negotiation or de-escalation between Russia and the west. The psychopathic leaders of the west (Victoria Nuland comes to mind) are russo-phobic Russia haters who are determined to carry out genocide against the Russian people, even if it means destroying their own economies and agricultural supply chains in the process. These psychopaths, Putin has come to realize, can’t be reasoned with or trusted to abide by any agreements whatsoever. Russia realizes it must fight or die. That’s where we are right now.
Unfortunately, the insanity of western nations has escalated this conflict to a condition where whoever launches nukes first has the advantage. This is a very dangerous dynamic, obviously, and it stems from the fact that the west has repeatedly signaled it will not allow the existence of Russia in its “New World Order” vision of planet Earth. With friends like Victoria Nuland calling the shots, who needs enemies?
Russia has a 30+ years advantage over US-NATO in terms of nuclear weapons and air defense technology
An important realization in all this is that NATO’s nuclear arsenal is ancient — mostly running on designed originally engineered in the 1970s — while Russia’s nuclear capabilities are at least two generations ahead, modernized with hyperglide reentry vehicles, evasive maneuver capabilities for ICBMs, hypersonic cruise missiles which are nuclear capable, and highly advanced anti-air defense systems that can even intercept and take down incoming ICBMs. In addition, Russia possesses secret “doomsday” weapons — far beyond their thermobaric bombs — that the world hasn’t even seen yet. On the current trajectory, those weapons are going to be introduced to the west without any warning whatsoever, resulting in the complete annihilation of Western European governments, currencies and industry.
I have no doubt whatsoever that Russia has already designated the targets of its first strike, and that those targets include London, Paris, Berlin, Warsaw, US naval fleets and virtually all military bases across Western Europe. We are now just one launch away from a civilization-ending event.
The USA and NATO have deluded themselves into thinking they can win a nuclear exchange with Russia, but this is just as delusional as thinking “men can get pregnant” or that money printing doesn’t cause inflation (notably, the brain dead Biden regime insists that both of these absurdities are absolutely true). Over the past two decades — and more recently led by the insanity of wokeism — the west has become fully invested in delusional thinking and fairy tale narratives that have no connection with reality. While the west has been waging a propaganda narrative war, Russia has been engineering the world’s most advanced nuclear weapons. Once the nuclear exchange begins, there’s no question whatsoever about its outcome. Russia will lose a few million people — far less than what they lost in World War II — but they will annihilate Germany, Poland, France and the United Kingdom. Western Europe will be plunged into a generation of despair and darkness, while the U.S. suffers a cascading financial collapse due to exposure to European banks, currencies and debt markets.

Bill Gates and other investors are betting Kodama Systems
can reduce carbon dioxide in the air by chopping down and burying trees. The
move will see 70 million acres of forests, mostly in the Western United States,
cut down over the next decade.
After cutting down the trees, Kodama plans to bury them – to
reduce global warming. However, “global warming” is a scam to enable the rich
to become richer and the real reason for the destruction of forests is to reap
saleable carbon offsets.
The Carbon Cycle
The
following text in this section is extracted from National Geographic’s encyclopaedia
intended for children aged 10 to 13.
Carbon is
in a constant state of movement from place to place. It is stored in what are
known as reservoirs, and it moves between these reservoirs through a variety of
processes, including photosynthesis, burning fossil fuels, and simply releasing
breath from the lungs. The movement of carbon from reservoir to reservoir is
known as the carbon cycle.
Carbon can
be stored in a variety of reservoirs, including plants and animals, which is
why they are considered carbon life forms. Carbon is used by plants to build
leaves and stems, which are then digested by animals and used for cellular
growth.
In the
atmosphere, carbon is stored in the form of gases, such as carbon dioxide. It
is also stored in oceans, captured by many types of marine organisms. Some
organisms, such as clams or coral, use the carbon to form shells and skeletons.
Most of
the carbon on the planet is contained within rocks, minerals, and other
sediment buried beneath the surface of the planet.
Because
Earth is a closed system, the amount of carbon on the planet never changes.
The carbon
cycle is vital to life on Earth. Nature tends to keep carbon levels balanced,
meaning that the amount of carbon naturally released from reservoirs is equal
to the amount that is naturally absorbed by reservoirs. Maintaining this carbon
balance allows the planet to remain hospitable for life.

Entry above ends with the sentence:
“Scientists
believe that humans have upset this [carbon] balance by burning fossil fuels,

change and global warming.”
National Geographic must be
referring to either corporately funded scientists or scientists employed by corporations.
As we will see in the next section, scientists who are truly concerned about
the planet and the life it supports reveal the facts.
Anthropogenic or human-caused
climate change is a fraud and has been known to be a fraud
from the outset. This was demonstrably revealed to the world in 2009 with
the release of leaked emails dubbed Climategate.
As it
leads into the next section, it’s also worth noting an eye-opening 2013 article published by Forbes that used quotes from climate
alarmists to reveal the truth about the climate change agenda. The

Two news items published in these days by the Washington
Post –
“9/11 families say Biden not welcome at memorial events
unless he releases government evidence” and “Biden signs executive order
requiring review, release of some classified 9/11 documents” – open other deep
cracks in the official version. The fact that, twenty years later, there are
secret documents about 9/11 in Washington’s closets means that its real
dynamics are still to be ascertained.
What is clear, however, is the
process that set September 11 in motion.
In the
previous decade, after the collapse of the Soviet “evil empire”, the US
strategy had focused on “regional threats”, conducting the first two post-Cold
War wars: the Gulf War and the war against Yugoslavia. Their purpose: to
reinforce the US military presence and political influence in the strategic
area of the Gulf and in the European region, at a time when its assets were
being redesigned. At the same time, the U.S. strengthened NATO by giving it
(with the consent of the Allies) the right to intervene outside the area and
extending it to the East in the countries of the former Warsaw Pact.
In the
meantime, however, the U.S. economy, while remaining the first in the world,
had lost ground even to that of the European Union. In the Arab world, there
were growing signs of impatience with the US presence and influence, while in Asia, the Russian-Chinese rapprochement raised the
possibility of a coalition capable of challenging the US supremacy. Exactly at
this critical moment, the attack of September 11, 2001 allowed the United
States to open a new strategic fase, with the
official motivation of facing the “global threat of terrorism”. It is a war of
a new kind, of a permanent nature, in which there are no geographical
boundaries, conducted against an enemy that can be identified from time to time
not only in a terrorist, but in anyone who obstructs U.S. interests. The perfect image of an enemy, intercambiable
and enduring. President Bush defined it as “a dark enemy, hiding in the
dark corners of the Earth”, from which it emerges suddenly to carry out
terrifying actions in the light of day, with a very strong emotional impact on
public opinion.
Thus
begins the “global war on terrorism”: in 2001 the United States attacked and
occupied Afghanistan, with the participation since 2003 of NATO; in 2003 they
attacked and occupied Iraq with the participation of NATO allies; in 2011 they
attacked with NATO the Libyan State, destroying it (as they had already done
with Yugoslavia); still in 2011 they started the same operation in Syria,
blocked four years later by the Russian intervention in support of Damascus; in
2014, with the putsch in Maidan Square, they opened
another armed conflict in Ukraine.

Author’s Note
It was 22 years ago: I started writing on the evening
of September 11, 2001, late into the night, going through piles of research
notes, which I had previously collected on the history of Al Qaeda. This first
text on 9/11 entitled “Who is Osama bin Laden?” was completed and first
published on September 12, 2001.
From the very outset, I questioned the official
story, which described nineteen Al Qaeda sponsored hijackers involved in a
highly sophisticated and organized operation.
Something was not quite right: Al Qaeda was a
creation of the CIA. Osama bin Laden had been recruited by the CIA. Yet barely
a few hours after the attacks, CIA Director George Tenet was
pointing his finger at Al Qaeda.
My first objective was to reveal the true nature of
this illusive “Enemy of America”, who was “threatening the Homeland”.
Afghanistan was identified as a “state sponsor of
terror”. The 9/11 attacks were categorized as an act of war, an attack on
America by a foreign power.
The right to self-defense was put forth. The
US-NATO aggressor was portrayed as the victim.
On September 12, 2001, less than 24 hours after the
attacks, NATO invoked for the first time in its history “Article 5 of the Washington
Treaty – its collective defence clause” declaring
the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center (WTC) and the Pentagon “to be an
attack against all NATO members.”
The tragic death of thousands of Americans on 9/11
allegedly instrumented by Al Qaeda was used as a pretext and a
justification for launching the first phase of the Middle East Central Asian
War, which consisted in the bombing and occupation of Afghanistan.
This invasion of Afghanistan launched four weeks
later on October 7, 2001 was heralded as “A Just War”.
September 11, 2001 marked the onslaught of the “Global
War on Terrorism” (GWOT) which was heralded by the media as a humanitarian endeavour.
This was achieved by sustaining the myth that Muslim
terrorists supported by the Taliban had attacked the WTC and the Pentagon on
September 11, 2001. The evidence –including the subsequent studies
on controlled demolition–have confirmed that this was an outright
lie.
The concluding paragraph of my September 12, 2001
article states the following:
‘In the wake of the terrorist attacks in New York
and Washington, the truth must prevail to prevent the Bush Adminstration
together with its NATO partners from embarking upon a military adventure which
threatens the future of humanity.”
Global Research was launched on September 9, 2001,
two days before 9/11. My article on Bin Laden was among the first articles featured on our website.
Ironically, it was not the object of
censorship. It was ranked by Google as one of the most widely read articles on
Osama bin Laden.

For many years I have enjoyed delving into the
history of science, and have been fascinated by the work of physicists. My own
mathematical talents reached an apex in rudimentary calculus and although I
mustered enough mental energies to pass my statistics
course in medical school, I can’t say I had much affection for that discipline.
Nonetheless
I have followed the various advances in physics and cosmology from the layman’s
armchair for decades: Newton’s laws, Maxwell’s equations, Einstein’s special
and general relativity, quantum mechanics, the Standard Model, string theory,
dark energy and dark matter, the Big Bang, the multiverse,
the ever-expanding universe, and on and on.
But let’s
be frank, if I have a grasp of any of these great achievements, it is a tenuous
and metaphorical one at best. I understand that the preeminent discoveries of
mathematics and physics have enabled our modern world of locomotion and
instantaneous communication, of engineering and space-based geo-location, and
nuclear energy and nuclear warheads —- in short, of the conveniences we take
for granted which confer ease and power over nature.
The Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland has been smashing subatomic
particles and providing skeins of data and has confirmed the existence of the
boson predicted by physicist Peter Higgs in 1964. Gravity waves have been
detected, quantum entanglement appears to be a fact of life, and although a
single unifying theory that marries relativity to the quantum world has yet to
be achieved, a tremendous lot has been comprehended.
In our era
of Big Science, funded almost exclusively by States whose coffers taxpayers
fill, an extravagant amount of money has been devoted to the education of the
mathematical elite and their research projects encompassing astronomy, atomic
forces and particle physics. The Webb telescope is exploring the depths of
interstellar space and thousands of satellites swarm around our Earth and have
become a foundational necessity for modern warfare — and finding the directions
to the nearest pizza joint.
The quest
to learn and seek to know more and more goes on. It is virtually an imperative
that we probe the origins of our universe and develop ever more finely honed
instruments of detection, instruments that far transcend the puny capabilities
of the human sensorium. Strive we must, it seems, for
comprehensive knowledge, for solving the mysteries of the forces that govern
the physical universe and even the origin of life. In short, we just can’t get
enough until we get the theory that explains everything.
So strong
is the drive to know, to encompass, to grasp and to explore, that this very
pursuit goes unquestioned. The quest is esteemed, accepted, bathed in
impregnable virtue, and seen as the crowning glory of human activity.
Meanwhile
our mundane world is an absolute mess. To earn a living wage that allows a
modicum of leisure and freedom from want is now fast becoming an impossibility in the ‘civilized’ Western sector of the
planet. And for the many less fortunate billions, poverty, political thuggery, corruption, and war are ever-present ravages.
Somehow
the mysteries of human cooperation and peace elude the ostensibly vast
intellectual forces of our best and brightest. Somehow we prefer the
alluring excitement of manipulating the human genome to the rather prosaic
accomplishments of organizing societies that can preserve individual autonomy
and establish equitable avenues of opportunity for all.
Why?

obeisance to our nurturing planet and establishes a sound foundation for future

obstetricians and gynecologists accepted $11.8 million from the Department of
Health and Human Services (HHS) to promote COVID-19 vaccines to pregnant women,
despite the exclusion of pregnant women from clinical trials and regulatory
data showing the vaccine had not been tested for safety during pregnancy.
To learn
more about COVID-19 funding received by the American College of Obstetricians
and Gynecologists (ACOG) during the pandemic and what prompted the
organization’s guidance on COVID-19 vaccines for pregnant women, Maggie Thorp,
JD, told The Epoch Times she made a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request
in 2022 to HHS.
The request
sought to obtain documents involving the three grants HHS/CDC made to ACOG
during the pandemic, one of which was for $11.8 million, listed on a publicly
accessible open data
source for federal spending.
Documents
obtained by Ms. Thorp show that ACOG, on
Feb. 1, 2021, was awarded the first of three cooperative agreement grants by
HHS and the CDC. The receipt of COVID-19 grant money was contingent upon ACOG
yielding substantial control over projects funded by the CDC to the agency and
ACOG’s full compliance with CDC guidance on COVID-19 infection and control.
“This is a
cooperative agreement, and CDC will have substantial programmatic involvement
after the award is made. Substantial involvement is in addition to all
post-award monitoring, technical assistance, and performance reviews undertaken
in the normal course of stewardship of federal funds,” the documents state.
ACOG also
agreed to allow the CDC program staff to “assist, coordinate, or participate in
carrying out effort under the award.”
The
contracts further provided for the return of funding to the HHS if ACOG did not
adhere to the federal government’s messaging that COVID-19 vaccines were safe
and effective for pregnant women and new mothers.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) this week launched a new “Wild to Mild” ad campaign to “tame skepticism about flu vaccines,” CNN Health reported.
The
campaign, which will run on the radio and social media platforms starting this
week, targets pregnant women and parents of young children “because vaccination
rates are down in both of those high-risk groups,” said CNN.
Experts
who spoke with The Defender, however,
questioned the efficacy of flu vaccines and
cautioned about their potential harms.
The CDC
ads feature cute animal images, including one that depicts a tiger (“a ferocious animal”) and a kitten (“something that’s not scary”) designed to promote the
idea that the flu vaccine, rather than preventing influenza altogether, will
inhibit severe symptoms and yield a milder course of the illness.
The CNN
article cited CDC data showing flu vaccination rates for pregnant women are
down more than 16% since 2019 and 7% for children under
18. “That means more than 3.7 million people were unprotected during pregnancy
over the past winter” along with “an estimated 32 million children,” CNN
reported.
Erin Burns, M.A.,
associate director for communications for the Influenza Division at the CDC,
told CNN the progress made to vaccinate pregnant women after the 2009 H1N1
pandemic has been “completely wiped out in the years since COVID-19.”
Focus
groups run by the CDC showed that “most of the pregnant women had no intention
of getting a flu vaccine and no awareness of the benefits it could bring them
or their baby,” Burns said.
Dr. William Schaffner, infectious disease specialist at Vanderbilt University and a member of
the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, told CNN that “something was amiss” if doctors were not adequately
informing pregnant women about the risks of the flu.
“Women who
get influenza who are pregnant may have rates of complication that rival that
of senior citizens,” Schaffner said, adding “They
[doctors] have to get these messages out to women who come to them right now.”
Burns said
mothers in focus groups found it “extremely motivating” when health educators
explained that antibodies induced by flu shots could transfer to their babies
and protect them after birth.
While
seniors tend to understand their higher risk from the flu and therefore keep up
with their shots, moms need more nudging, CNN reported. . . . .

Abstract
The
COVID-19 pandemic caused much illness, many deaths, and profound disruption to
society. The production of 'safe and effective' vaccines was a key public
health target. Sadly, unprecedented high rates of adverse events have
overshadowed the benefits. This two-part narrative review presents evidence for
the widespread harms of novel product COVID-19 mRNA and adenovectorDNA
vaccines and is novel in attempting to provide a thorough overview of harms
arising from the new technology in vaccines that relied on human cells
producing a foreign antigen that has evidence of pathogenicity.
This first
paper explores peer-reviewed data counter to the 'safe and effective' narrative
attached to these new technologies. Spike protein pathogenicity,
termed 'spikeopathy', whether from the SARS-CoV-2
virus or produced by vaccine gene codes, akin to a 'synthetic virus', is
increasingly understood in terms of molecular biology and pathophysiology.
Pharmacokinetic transfection through body tissues
distant from the injection site by lipid-nanoparticles
or viral-vector carriers means that 'spikeopathy' can
affect many organs.
The
inflammatory properties of the nanoparticles used to
ferry mRNA; N1-methylpseudouridine employed to prolong synthetic mRNA function;
the widespread biodistribution of the mRNA and DNA
codes and translated spike proteins, and autoimmunity via human production of
foreign proteins, contribute to harmful effects.
This paper
reviews autoimmune, cardiovascular, neurological, potential oncological
effects, and autopsy evidence for spikeopathy. With
many gene-based therapeutic technologies planned, a re-evaluation is necessary
and timely.

A Perfidious Legal Attack Is Being
Staged to Implode the Dayton Peace Agreement.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is governed as a neo-colonial
backwater, which is the status that Gabon, Niger, and Burkina Faso had until
recently. The difference is that lately the Africans have been making concerted
efforts to throw off their yoke. By contrast, in Bosnia many seem happy to be
yoked, with the notable exception of the Republic of Srpska,
which for quite some time has been the Niger of the Balkans.
And that
is fundamentally the reason why, like Niger, it is now targeted. The recently
unleashed hybrid attack against the Republic of Srpska
is a sophisticated operation which is being marketed under the legal guise of
restoring democracy. It would be a grave mistake however to underestimate that
cunning manoeuvre and its potential for generating
chaos. Its mission is not to improve but to implode the imperfect but carefully
balanced constitutional system that was set up in 1995 as an integral part of
the Dayton peace arrangements. At the time, all Bosnian parties had the wisdom
to assent to it as the price of peace. The fully intended collateral
effect of undermining the system erected in Dayton is the
destruction, or at a minimum degradation, of Bosnia’s intolerable entity, the
Republic of Srpska.
The focus
of the current iteration of Bosnia’s chronic political crisis is the lawsuit
filed before the European Court of Human Rights [ECHR] by a certain Slaven Kovačević, who claims that his rights as a Bosnian citizen (and
presumably as a human as well) are threatened by the ethnic representation
provisions of the Bosnian Constitution.
Kovačević (who happens to be of Croat
ethnicity) is allegedly upset because in his judgement
current constitutional arrangements are discriminatory, since they prevent him from standing for political office on a
country-wide basis.
The only
avenue available to him to post his candidacy is as a citizen and resident of
one of Bosnia’s two ethnically defined entities. Without delving further into
the gist of this arcane objection, let it only be said that Bosnia’s complex
ethnic representation system, an outgrowth of the 1995 peace treaty, with its
admittedly convoluted provisions, was instituted precisely because of the
demonstrated incapacity of Bosnia’s ethnicities to live side by side amicably
under any other systemic arrangement. Such a solution Kovačević may now
find bothersome and unsatisfactory, but certainly Montesquieu would have
approved of it wholeheartedly. Be it recalled that according to Montesquieu
good constitutions are not ideological constructs but practical instruments
that take into account the temperament, customs, and behavioural
patterns of the men they are designed to govern and serve.
But, of
course, the real crux of the issue has nothing to do with whether or not citizen
Slaven Kovačević
was subjected to insufferable discrimination due to the fact that he is barred
from participating in Bosnian elections on a country-wide basis but only
through facilities provided by the entity he happens to reside in. In his case
that is the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (the other being the Republic
of Srpska).
Elections
in Bosnia, all pretence aside, carry about as much political weight as similar
exercises did in Gabon under the recently deposed President Bongo. As we explained
at length in a number of previous posts, Bosnia can at best be described as a
protectorate, and at worst as a colony which is not effectively ruled by its
citizens anyway – whatever ethnicity they may fancy to identify with. It is
ruled by the High Representative selected by a consortium of foreign powers.
With the vast executive prerogatives claimed by that office, from the
standpoint of democratic governance Bosnia’s de facto ruler is in any event
inherently illegitimate. And in large measure that would still be the case even
if, unlike the current office holder, he were to be properly confirmed by the Security Council of the United
Nations. So for a credible explanation of this particular Bosnian crisis we
must look elsewhere, away from the demagogic smokescreen of alleged electoral
grievances.

Of relevance
to the current crisis, this carefully researched article was first
published by Global Research more than ten years ago on June 1, 2011.
The Four Horsemen of Banking (Bank of America, JP
Morgan Chase, Citigroup and Wells Fargo) own the Four Horsemen of Oil (Exxon
Mobil, Royal Dutch/Shell, BP and Chevron Texaco); in tandem with Deutsche
Bank, BNP, Barclays and other European old money behemoths. But their monopoly
over the global economy does not end at the edge of the oil patch.
According to company 10K filings to the SEC, the
Four Horsemen of Banking are among the top ten stock holders of virtually every
Fortune 500 corporation.[1]
So who then are the stockholders in these money
center banks?
This
information is guarded much more closely. My queries to bank regulatory
agencies regarding stock ownership in the top 25 US bank holding companies were
given Freedom of Information Act status, before being denied on “national
security” grounds. This is rather ironic, since many of the bank’s stockholders
reside in Europe.
One
important repository for the wealth of the global oligarchy that owns these
bank holding companies is US Trust Corporation – founded in 1853 and now owned
by Bank of America. A recent US Trust Corporate Director and Honorary Trustee
was Walter Rothschild. Other directors included Daniel Davison of JP Morgan
Chase, Richard Tucker of Exxon Mobil, Daniel Roberts of Citigroup and Marshall
Schwartz of Morgan Stanley. [2]
J. W. McCallister, an oil industry insider with House of Saud
connections, wrote in The Grim Reaper that information he acquired from Saudi
bankers cited 80% ownership of the New York Federal Reserve Bank- by far the
most powerful Fed branch- by just eight families, four of which reside in the
US. They are the Goldman Sachs, Rockefellers, Lehmans
and Kuhn Loebs of New York; the Rothschilds
of Paris and London; the Warburgs of Hamburg; the Lazards of Paris; and the Israel Moses Seifs
of Rome.
CPA Thomas D. Schauf corroborates McCallister’s claims, adding that ten banks control all
twelve Federal Reserve Bank branches.
He names
N.M. Rothschild of London, Rothschild Bank of Berlin, Warburg Bank of Hamburg,
Warburg Bank of Amsterdam, Lehman Brothers of New York, Lazard Brothers of
Paris, Kuhn Loeb Bank of New York, Israel Moses Seif
Bank of Italy, Goldman Sachs of New York and JP Morgan Chase Bank of New York.
Schauf lists William Rockefeller, Paul Warburg, Jacob Schiff and James Stillman as individuals who own large shares of the Fed. [3]
The Schiffs are insiders at Kuhn Loeb. The Stillmans
are Citigroup insiders, who married into the Rockefeller clan at the turn of
the century.
Eustace
Mullins came to the same conclusions in his book The Secrets of the Federal
Reserve, in which he displays charts connecting the Fed and its member banks to
the families of Rothschild, Warburg, Rockefeller and the others. [4]
The
control that these banking families exert over the global economy cannot be
overstated and is quite intentionally shrouded in secrecy. Their corporate
media arm is quick to discredit any information exposing this private central
banking cartel as “conspiracy theory”. Yet the facts remain.

In 1789 Alexander Hamilton became the first Treasury
Secretary of the United States. Hamilton was one of many Founding Fathers
who were Freemasons.
He had close relations with the Rothschild family
which owns the Bank of England and leads the European Freemason movement.
George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, John Jay,
Ethan Allen, Samuel Adams, Patrick Henry, John Brown and Roger Sherman were all
Masons.
Alexander Hamilton
Roger
Livingston helped Sherman and Franklin write the Declaration of
Independence. He gave George Washington his oaths of office while he was
Grand Master of the New York Grand Lodge of Freemasons. Washington
himself was Grand Master of the Virginia Lodge. Of the General Officers
in the Revolutionary Army, thirty-three were Masons. This was highly
symbolic since 33rd Degree Masons become Illuminated. [1]
Populist
founding fathers led by John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and Thomas
Paine– none of whom were Masons- wanted to completely severe ties with the
British Crown, but were overruled by the Masonic faction led by Washington,
Hamilton and Grand Master of the St. Andrews Lodge in Boston General Joseph
Warren, who wanted to “defy Parliament but remain loyal to the Crown”.
St.
Andrews Lodge was the hub of New World Masonry and began issuing Knights
Templar Degrees in 1769. [2]

All US
Masonic lodges are to this day warranted by the British Crown, whom they serve
as a global intelligence and counterrevolutionary subversion network.
(Their
most recent initiative [2011] is the Masonic Child Identification Program
(CHIP). According to Wikipedia, the CHIP programs allow parents the
opportunity to create a kit of identifying materials for their child, free of
charge. The kit contains a fingerprint card, a physical description, a video,
computer disk, or DVD of the child, a dental imprint, and a DNA sample.)
The First
Continental Congress convened in Philadelphia in 1774 under the Presidency of
Peyton Randolph, who succeeded Washington as Grand Master of the Virginia
Lodge. The Second Continental Congress convened in 1775 under the
Presidency of Freemason John Hancock.
Peyton’s brother William succeeded him as Virginia Lodge Grand Master
and became the leading proponent of centralization and federalism at the First
Constitutional Convention in 1787. The federalism at the heart of the US
Constitution is identical to the federalism laid out in the Freemason’s Anderson’s Constitutions of 1723.
William Randolph became the nation’s first Attorney General and Secretary of
State under George Washington. His family returned to England loyal to
the Crown. John Marshall, the nation’s first Supreme Court Justice, was
also a Mason. [3]
When
Benjamin Franklin journeyed to France to seek financial help for American
revolutionaries, his meetings took place at Rothschild banks. He brokered
arms sales via German Mason
Baron von Steuben. His Committees of Correspondence operated through
Freemason channels and paralleled a British spy network. In 1776 Franklin
became de facto Ambassador to France.
In 1779 he
became Grand Master of the French Neuf Soeurs (Nine Sisters) Lodge, to which John Paul
Jones and Voltaire belonged. Franklin was also a member of the more
secretive Royal Lodge of Commanders of the Temple West of Carcasonne,
whose members included Frederick Prince of Whales.
While Franklin preached temperance in the US, he cavorted wildly with his Lodge
brothers in Europe. Franklin served as Postmaster General from the 1750’s
to 1775 – a role traditionally relegated to British spies. [4]
With
Rothschild financing Alexander Hamilton founded two New York banks, including
Bank of New York. [5] He died in a gun battle
with Aaron Burr, who founded Bank of Manhattan with Kuhn Loeb financing.
Hamilton exemplified the contempt which the Eight Families hold towards common
people, once stating, “All communities divide themselves into the few and the
many. The first are the rich and the well born, the others the mass of
the people…The people are turbulent and changing; they seldom judge and determine
right. Give therefore to the first class a distinct, permanent share of
government. They will check the unsteadiness of the second.”[6]
Hamilton
was only the first in a series of Eight Families cronies to hold the key
position of Treasury Secretary.
In recent
times Kennedy Treasury Secretary Douglas Dillon came from Dillon Read (now part
of UBS Warburg).
Nixon Treasury Secretaries David Kennedy and William Simon came from
Continental Illinois Bank (now part of Bank of America) and Salomon Brothers (now
part of Citigroup), respectively.
Carter
Treasury Secretary Michael Blumenthal came from Goldman Sachs, Reagan Treasury
Secretary Donald Regan came from Merrill Lynch (now part of Bank of America),
Bush Sr. Treasury Secretary Nicholas Brady came from Dillon Read (UBS Warburg)
and both Clinton Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin and Bush Jr. Treasury
Secretary Henry Paulson came from Goldman Sachs. Obama Treasury Secretary
Tim Geithner worked at Kissinger Associates and the
New York Fed.
Thomas
Jefferson argued that the United States needed a publicly-owned central bank so
that European monarchs and aristocrats could not use the printing of money to
control the affairs of the new nation.
Jefferson
extolled,
“A country
which expects to remain ignorant and free…expects that which has never been and
that which will never be. There is scarcely a King in a hundred who would
not, if he could, follow the example of Pharaoh – get first all the people’s
money, then all their lands and then make them and their children servants
forever…banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies.
Already they have raised up a money aristocracy.”
Jefferson
watched as the Euro-banking conspiracy to control the United States unfolded,
weighing in, “Single acts of tyranny may be ascribed to the accidental opinion
of the day, but a series of oppressions begun at a distinguished period,
unalterable through every change of ministers, too plainly prove a deliberate,

U.S. banks are again in the crosshairs. Standard and Poor’s
has downgraded five new middle-tier banks and put three others on
negative outlook. This follows sweeping downgrades earlier in August by Moody’s, which cut credit ratings on 10
banks and placed four of the 15 largest U.S. banks on review for possible
downgrade. As with the banks going into receivership earlier this year,
concerns include interest rate risk due to unrealized losses from long-term
securities.
Meanwhile,
the U.S. government itself has been downgraded by Fitch Ratings, which questions the government’s ability to finance its
nearly $33 trillion federal debt. Just the interest on the debt is approaching
$1 trillion annually — one third of the government’s federal income tax
receipts — while the military budget is closing in on another $1 trillion,
devouring over half the discretionary federal budget. That leaves virtually
none to cover the nearly $6 trillion that, according to the American Society of Civil Engineers, is
needed to repair America’s broken infrastructure, among other neglected service
needs.
While
economists disagree on the overall economic outlook, conditions seem to be
deteriorating across the board. Congress cannot agree on a budget, with threats
of another government shutdown October 1 when the new fiscal year begins. The moratorium on
student debt also ends on October 1, with 45% of borrowers saying they expect to go delinquent on their student loan debts. Credit card debt is at the highest level ever recorded, surpassing $1 trillion; with the average rate of interest at a new
all-time record of 20.63 percent, and delinquencies surging dramatically. One
trillion dollars in corporate debt is rolling over at much higher interest
rates this year; layoffs and empty offices are decimating the commercial real estate market; and elevated interest rates are jeopardizing the home mortgage market, among other debt crises.

Project: Israeli Government Part of Plan to Build Third Temple at Al-Aqsa

Since
1967, non-Muslims have been allowed to visit Al-Aqsa
but not pray at the holy site. Yet that status quo is rapidly eroding in recent
years as Israeli Jewish settler groups work alongside
the government to take control of the compound.
Under Jewish law, the ashes of a red heifer
(young female cow) must be scattered across Haram
al-Sharif before Jews can ascend it and rebuild the Third Temple. While the
hunt for a red heifer has long been considered a fringe initiative touted by
Temple Mount activists, new research reveals the Israeli government is now
involved in this endeavor.
According to Jerusalem-focused non-profit Ir Amim, the Israeli
government authorities helped the temple mount activist group, the Temple
Institute, and Boneh Israel, an Evangelical
organization, import five cows from the United States last year to be used for
the red heifer sacrifice.
The Ministry of Agriculture allegedly
assisted in bypassing standard regulations in order to import the live cows
from the U.S., which is prohibited. In a press release, Boneh
Israel and the Temple Institute claim they received
permission to import the cows through the Ministry of Agriculture.
The Ministry of Jerusalem Affairs and
Heritage also assisted in the project. The Ministry’s Director General, Netanel Isaac, disclosed in a speech at the cows’ welcome
ceremony in September 2022 that the agency has been funding the development of
the Mount of Olives area where Temple Mount activists plan to initiate the red
heifer ritual sacrifice. Additionally, the ministry is involved in transferring
the cows to a visitor center and farm created for the red heifer project at the
Tel Shiloh archaeological site in the occupied West Bank. Currently, the cows
are being held at a kibbutz (Jewish commune) in the Jordan Valley. One of the cows is reportedly already at the
Israeli settlement research center, however.

Gaza’s surplus of
nurses works for free

For the
past two years, Samar Ziada, 27, has been a volunteer
nurse at al-Shifa hospital in Gaza.
She
assists staff nurses in their daily routines: preparing injections for
patients, treating wounds and taking temperatures.
Al-Shifa hospital is known for being
a stressful place to work. It is understaffed and lacks much-needed medical
equipment due to the 16-year Israeli blockade on the coastal
strip of land.
And while Ziada
works three days a week, eight hours a day, she is not paid.
She has not been able to find paid work as a
nurse since graduating with a degree in nursing from Al-Azhar
University in 2018. There are too many nurses in Gaza and too few available
paid positions. Every year, when Ziada applies for
new nursing jobs at government or private hospitals, she finds that she is one
of hundreds applying.
The situation is so acute that in July, the
Palestinian Nursing Association in the Gaza Strip issued a statement expressing its concern about employment
prospects for nurses.
There are currently 14,200 registered nurses
in Gaza, yet only 4,000 are employed as nurses while 10,200 are not working in
the field.
The number of nursing graduates is outpacing
the available jobs, the statement added, since public institutions simply
cannot afford to hire more nurses, despite the need for them.
Ziada took the volunteer
position hoping it would lead to an actual job, but so far that has not been
the case.
Don’t
study nursing
Nursing was once considered a reliable career
path in Gaza. It was thought that, despite Gaza’s high unemployment rate, the
Strip would always need nurses.
Yet Hasan Hilles, 30, now regrets studying nursing. He
graduated in 2016 with a degree in nursing from the Islamic University
in Gaza.
He worked a year in a private clinic, with a
low monthly salary of around $235. This was the best job he could find. All
better-paying jobs, he said, require having connections or
knowing someone.
Hilles was not
surprised by the Palestinian Nursing Association’s statement. He now cautions
friends against studying nursing, since job opportunities are so scarce.
Though he still applies for nursing jobs
about five times a year, he has mostly worked in construction.
A year ago, when he was on a construction
site, a fellow worker endured a head injury and collapsed to the ground. Hilles went to assist him and check for injuries, but his
coworker told him to get a paramedic instead. When Hilles
explained that he was a nurse, his coworker didn’t believe him until he
expertly bandaged his wound.
He also tried volunteering.
“I volunteered in a government hospital for a
year and a half,” he said, but this did not lead to a job.

profits for the military-industrial complex.
False atrocity
reporting was indispensable in perpetrating the Uyghur genocide hoax along with
other disinformation campaigns targeting U.S. adversaries like Libya, Syria,
North Korea and Russia.
In the
case of Tiananmen Square, Abrams emphasizes that most of the protesters who
initially occupied the square were not advocating Westernization or the
overthrow of the Chinese government, but rather a stronger affirmation of
China’s 1949 Communist Revolution and removal of corrupt officials who had
betrayed Maoist ideals. Many workers involved in the movement were more
anti-CCP compared to the students, and aimed to
establish a socialist democracy.

The Pentagon confirmed Wednesday that the U.S. will send depleted uranium
ammunition to Ukraine as part of a new $175 million military aid package,
drawing outrage from progressive foreign policy advocates who have warned
against such a move and noted the horrific impact such weapons have had in Iraq
and elsewhere.
A
byproduct of natural uranium enrichment, depleted uranium is highly dense and
often used for projectiles designed to pierce tanks and other armored vehicles.
On impact, depleted uranium weapons produce a
cloud of particles that can be inhaled by soldiers
and nearby civilians.
The
Pentagon said it is sending Ukraine 120mm depleted uranium rounds that can be
fired from the Abrams tanks the U.S. is also set to
begin delivering.
The
announcement came weeks after the U.S. shipped widely banned cluster
munitions to Ukraine, ignoring human rights groups’ warnings about the potentially devastating consequences for civilians in the
present and years into the future.
“It wasn’t
enough for the U.S. to send cluster bombs that will kill children for
generations to Ukraine,” Aída Chávez,
communications director for the progressive anti-war group Just Foreign Policy,
wrote on social media. “Now, the Biden admin is sending depleted uranium—which
will cause babies to be born with severe deformities and cancer.”

“To this
day,” Chávez added, “children in places like Fallujah
are being born with gruesome birth defects due to the U.S. military’s use of
depleted uranium.”
The
U.S.-led coalition that invaded Iraq in 2003 used thousands of
tonnes of
depleted uranium bombs and shells over just a three-week period that year.
Research
suggests the lasting health effects for Iraqis have been severe.

A Spanish company recruiting volunteers to fight in Ukraine
claims to be in contact with the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence,
offering contracts for up to €3,400.
The most
difficult test for future Spanish fighters in the International Legion of
Ukraine is to hold a key position they have won for three days. To do
this, the volunteers spend two nights and three days without sleep, defending
the strategic point.
“Of the
whole course, this is the test with the highest dropout rate,” Francisco Galván, director and head trainer of G.O.A. Tactical, the
only company in Spain dedicated to training people who want to fight in
Ukraine, told Euronews.
This is
followed by other exercises, such as running with military equipment on their
shoulders, capturing and “clearing” occupied trenches and stress tests in a
hostile environment.
For seven
hundred euros, the future fighters receive five days
of training to experience what will happen on the battlefield.
The reward? A contract with
the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence, worth up to €3,400
if they join the elite units.
“Our
company has contacts with defence ministries all over
the world, including Ukraine. What we do is evaluate a person who is interested
in fighting and give them the contacts so they can get
in touch with them,” says Galván.
“It is the
volunteer who has to call them directly, but our contacts are waiting for him.
He then shows the validation certificate and he has the job,” he adds.

Foreign
Fighters Flee from Ukraine
This is to
avoid the company being classified as a private security and defence contractor, the so-called Private Military
Companies, a service similar to the Wagner Group.
“We have
people fighting in Ukraine. One of them went back to Spain to rest for a few
months, and that’s when he was asked (by Ukrainian officials) if he could
recruit people to fight in the war,” says Galván.
After 18
months of fighting Russia’s full-scale invasion, Ukraine needs soldiers. Many
of them are exhausted, and the casualty rate is high.
Although
the Ukrainian army avoids giving specific figures on the number of soldiers, Statista Research estimates there are 500,000, double the
number serving just before the conflict began.
There is
also much speculation about the number of casualties, but US military
intelligence estimates 190,000 – including the wounded – in the year and a half
of war.
Ukraine in Need of More Soldiers
The
International Legion, supervised by Ukrainian intelligence, is made up of
military volunteers from all over the world.
In March
2022, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence launched a programme to recruit these volunteers into its army. The
number of people currently fighting in this battalion has not been made public.
According
to Galván, the problem is that there are a lot of
people who arrive without training, so the ministry is looking for more specialised volunteers.
The
company told Spanish media that a frontline position will receive a salary of
€2,800 per month, while backroom administration will receive a salary of around
€1,800 per month. The most sought-after position is in the elite units, with a
salary of up to €3,400 per month.
Candidates
must have at least two years’ experience in the sector, be it military, police
or security. Over 200 applications have been received since the call was
launched a week ago.

Ukraine Festival at the House of Ukraine at Balboa Park's International
Cottages.
It was inspiring to see the joy,
hope and a cherished desire for the future.
The children are a vital part of
that future, especially while singing the national anthem of Ukraine.
It was a celebration of culture,
with dance, music and food.
They had some tasty potato and
cheese varenyky with sour cream and fried onions, nalysnyky with sweet cheese, kovbasa,
salads, watermelon and drinks.
The outdoor lawn program featured
the Chervona Kalyna Dance
Group (Los Angeles), U3Zub, Iaroslava Caracosa, Ridna Shkola students.
The celebration of Ukrainian culture
brought me so much joy and happiness, for which I am grateful.

The WEF continues to insert itself
into online speech control.
The World
Economic Forum (WEF) continues to “quietly” work on putting itself, and a bunch
of massive “partner” corporations at the center of redefining, and if need be,
defining the world we live in – whether it’s about artificial intelligence, or
online censorship.
The
informal Switzerland-based group gathering representatives of global elites has
repeatedly shown interest in coming up with a variety of essential standards
that should, from its point of view, be universally accepted and implemented as
the last word on any of these subjects.
When it
comes to justifying online censorship, Big Tech’s social platforms habitually
avoid explaining what it is they mean when they delete content and deplatform people because of “misinformation,” “hate
speech,” etc, where such things begin and end, and who makes such decisions,
based on what authority.
Not least
because of this lack of clarity, many people suspect that these sites avoid
explaining themselves because there is nothing to explain – the censorship
decisions are arbitrary, designed to serve a policy or a narrative rather than
combat “misinformation” and the like.
All this
undermines their trustworthiness – but, WEF to the rescue, or at least so it
hopes. The organization said on its website that it – or rather, what it calls
its Global Coalition for Digital Safety – has produced a document called, “Typology of Online Harms.”
The stated
goal is to define six categories of harmful content, and thus create
definitions that facilitate “multi-agency and cross-border action.”
There is
also praise of the European Union’s Digital Services Act (DSA) in this context, but also talk of WEF’s Coalition providing “common
foundational language” that is still lacking through DSA’s limited reach
(namely, it is not global, whereas the “Typology” aims for just such impact.)

Half a century ago on September 11, 1973, the Chilean military led by General Augusto Pinochet, crushed the democratically elected Unidad Popular government of Salvador Allende.
The objective was to replace a progressive, democratically elected government by a brutal military dictatorship.
The military coup was supported by the CIA. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger played a direct role in the military plot.1
In the weeks leading up to the coup, US Ambassador Nathaniel Davis and members of the CIA held meetings with Chile’s top military brass together with the leaders of the National Party and the ultra-right nationalist front Patria y Libertad. While the undercover role of the Nixon administration is amply documented, what is rarely mentioned in media reports is the fact that the military coup was also supported by a sector of the Christian Democratic Party.
Patricio Aylwin, who was elected Chile’s president in 1989, became head of the DC party in the months leading up to the September 1973 military coup (March through September 1973). Aylwin was largely instrumental in the break down of the “Dialogue” between the Unidad Popular government and the Christian Democrats. His predecessor Renan Fuentealba, who represented the moderate wing of the Christian Democratic Party (PDC), was firmly against military intervention. Fuentealba favored a dialogue with Allende (la salida democratica). He was displaced from the leadership of the Party in May 1973 in favor of Patricio Aylwin.
The DC Party was split down the middle, between those who favored “the salida democratica”, and the dominant Aylwin-Frei faction, which favored “a military solution”. 2
On 23 August, the Chilean Camera de Diputados drafted a motion, to the effect that the Allende government “sought to impose a totalitarian regime”. Patricio Aylwin was a member of the drafting team of this motion. Patricio Aylwin believed that a temporary military dictatorship was “the lesser of two evils.”3
This motion was adopted almost unanimously by the opposition parties, including the DC, the Partido Nacional and the PIR ( Radical Left).
The leadership of the Christian Democratic Party including former Chilean president Eduardo Frei, had given a green light to the Military. Unquestionably, US intelligence must have played an undercover role in the change of leadership in the PDC.
And continuity in the “Chilean Model” heralded as an “economic success story” was ensured when, 16 years later, Patricio Aylwin was elected president of Chile in the so-called transition to democracy in 1989.
At the time of the September 11 coup, I was Visiting Professor of Economics at the Catholic University of Chile (Instituto de Economia, Universidad Catolica de Chile). In the hours following the bombing of the Presidential Palace of La Moneda, the new military rulers imposed a 72-hour curfew.
When the university reopened several days later, I started patching together the history of the coup from written notes. I had lived through the tragic events of September 11, 1973 as well as the failed June 29, 1973 coup. Several of my students at the Universidad Catolica had been arrested by the military Junta.
In the days following the military takeover, I started going through piles of documents and newspaper clippings, which I had collected on a daily basis since my arrival in Chile in early 1973. A large part of this material, however, was lost and destroyed by my research assistant, fearing political reprisals in the days following the coup.
This unpublished article (below) was written 50 years ago (see below). It was drafted on an old typewriter in the weeks following September 11, 1973.
This original draft article plus a few carbon copies were circulated among a close friends and colleagues at the Catholic University. It was never published. For 30 years it lay in a box of documents at the bottom of a filing cabinet.
I have transcribed the text from the yellowed carbon copy draft [in 2003]. Apart from minor editing, I have made no changes to the original article.
The history of this period has since then been amply documented including the role of the Nixon administration and of Secretary of State Henry Kissinger in the plot to assassinate Allende and install a military regime.
Chicago Economics: Neoliberal Dress Rehearsal of the Structural Adjustment Programme (SAP)
The main objective of the US-supported military coup in Chile was ultimately to impose the neoliberal economic agenda. The latter, in the case of Chile, was not imposed by external creditors under the guidance of the IMF. “Regime change” was enforced through a covert military intelligence operation, which laid the groundwork for the military coup. Sweeping macro-economic reforms (including privatization, price liberalization and the freeze of wages) were implemented in early October 1973.
Barely a few weeks after the military takeover, the military Junta headed by General Augusto Pinochet ordered a hike in the price of bread from 11 to 40 escudos, a hefty overnight increase of 264%. This “economic shock treatment” had been designed by a group of economists called the “Chicago Boys.”
While food prices had skyrocketed, wages had been frozen to ensure “economic stability and stave off inflationary pressures.”
From one day to the next, an entire country had been precipitated into abysmal poverty; in less than a year the price of bread in Chile increased thirty-six fold (3700%). Eighty-five percent of the Chilean population had been driven below the poverty line.

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the other “9/11” —the 1973 Chilean coup, we repost his article by Shane Quinn which was originally published in September 2017.
On September 11, 1973, Salvador Allende’s democratic government in Chile was ousted by United States-backed forces in one of the Cold War’s defining moments. Allende himself was killed during the coup while his presidential palace, La Moneda, was extensively bombed. Many thousands of Chileans were either murdered, “disappeared”, imprisoned, and coerced to emigrate or enter exile. Allende’s widow and family were forced to go into hiding in Mexico for many years.
In replacing Allende the Americans installed General Augusto Pinochet, one of the most notorious of the post-Second World War dictators. During the next 17 years of Pinochet’s dictatorship around 40,000 Chileans were tortured – often under the most sadistic fashion and overseen by doctors in the Josef Mengele style (the Nazi doctor at Auschwitz). The doctors would ensure the victims would remain alive for as long as possible, administer medication to resuscitate them, so the torture could then recommence.
A Chilean who suffered such treatment in these chambers, but survived and later became an international lawyer, was asked where these doctors are today? He replied, “they’re practicing in Santiago”. There have been a number of Mengele-style doctors not only walking free in Chile, but resuming employment unhindered.
There have been no calls from the United States or Israel to bring these Nazi-style physicians to justice. Indeed, the Pinochet regime was already protecting Nazi war criminals such as SS Colonel Walter Rauff, creator of the gas chambers, and Mengele himself.
As the US’s population is approximately 18 times bigger than Chile’s, with an infinitely bigger landmass, the Chilean 9/11 was felt on a far greater scale. Indeed, it was also more destructive. In the US’s 9/11, the White House was not bombed, the President (George W. Bush) was not killed, its people were not imprisoned and tortured en masse after the initial crimes were committed, a brutal dictator and his death squads were not imposed.
Before the Chilean coup in 1973, the country had been a lively, vibrant place where people were welcoming and cheerful. The Pinochet years afflicted upon the population persistent feelings of terror and suspicion.

A few days after the coup was implemented National Security Adviser Henry Kissinger described the situation in Chile as, “Nothing of very great consequence”….
