Will 2024 be the year the Deep State’s exercise in controlled chaos
finally gives way to an apocalyptic dismantling of our constitutional republic,
or what’s left of it?
All the signs seem to point in this direction.
For years now, the government has been pushing us to the brink of a
national nervous breakdown.
This breakdown—triggered by polarizing circus politics, media-fed mass
hysteria, militarization and militainment (the
selling of war and violence as entertainment), a sense of hopelessness and
powerlessness in the face of growing corruption, the government’s alienation
from its populace, and an economy that has much of the population struggling to
get by—has manifested itself in the polarized, manipulated mayhem, madness and
tyranny that is life in the American police state today.
Why is the Deep State engineering this societal madness? What’s in it for
the government?
What is playing out before us is a chilling lesson in social engineering
that keeps the populace fixated on circus politics and conveniently timed
spectacles, distracted from focusing too closely on the government’s power
grabs, and incapable of standing united in defense of our freedoms.
It’s not conspiratorial.
It’s a power play.
Rod Serling, the creator of the Twilight Zone, understood the
dynamics behind this power play.
In the Twilight Zone episode,
“The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street,” Serling
imagined a world in which the powers-that-be carry out a social experiment to
see how long it would take before the members of a small American neighborhood,
frightened by a sudden loss of electric power and caught up in fears of the
unknown, will transform into an irrational mob and turn on each other.
It doesn’t take long at all.

Strategies, Tactics, Logistics: “The story
told by the rabbit, and not the hunter”
Dear
Colleagues and Friends of CEIMSA,
We
have entered a grim Theater of the Absurd, where the self-appointed “masters of
the universe,” with the help of trained stage managers, are systematically
disempowering us like lambs to slaughter. To accomplish this they must engineer
a degree of alienation so great that we forfeit the normal functions of the
human mind – our feeling, our will, our memory, and our reason. Without these capacities
we are, indeed, not fully human, we exist as mere extensions of their
collective will, programmed to obey. The
renowned wisdom of the former US slave, Frederick Douglas (1818-1895), offers us
advice in these days of confusion and despair.
Struggling against his enslavement, he later wrote:
“Those
who profess to favor freedom, and yet deprecate agitation, are men who want
crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and
lightning.”
The
lesson is a nineteenth-century version of “lipstick on a pig.”
Today,
we are advised by the series of dramatic events we are now witnessing to rethink
our relationships and our aspirations in life. The identities which we have
adopted or that have been imposed upon us should not serve to disempower us or turn us against one another. In a
dialectical manner, the theater itself must be changed, and the structure and
function of the play must be rewritten by us so that the new political economy
serves us and not the contrary, for the further empowerment of the masters class. Such a mass maneuver
requires experience, patience and solidarity. The process itself offers many
rewards and satisfactions along the way.
The
26+ items below reflect the causes of the emerging chaos in late
capitalist societies, where there is the struggle for independence and
self-determination in the high-tech system dominated by monopoly capitalist interests.
The confusion and disempowerment arises from the liberal ideology of individual
rights and human rights. This idealistic rhetoric has for centuries
has been used to obfuscate the RealPolitik of “leverage
politics.” The contest between the major social classes has rarely appeared at
a level of consciousness necessary to affect egalitarian structural changes;
instead we have been offered a host of distractions by carnival barkers and demagogues
with fetishes to sell and false promises to offer in exchange for our soul. To paraphrase George Galloway in a recent interview,
“they have put lipstick on a pig” to seduce us – only I would suggest a
correction to his lurid metaphor: the “pig” is not Liberal Democracy, as he said –one man, one vote, but rather
Capitalist Exploitation. Liberal democracy is but one item in the cosmetic bag
of tricks used to disempower us.
Thus,
some of the writers below suggest that we are left today with an existential choice:
either we accept the “pig” for what it appears to be and worship its fine beauty
and submit to the degenerate status quo, or we turn our eyes towards the social class inequalities and political injustices
to join the resistance and effectively turn the world upside down, ending, once
and for all, this contrived idolatry and the illegitimate dependent power hierarchies that are so abundantly useful
as social control mechanisms.

On February 20, Julian Assange,
the daredevil publisher of WikiLeaks, will be going
into battle, yet again, with the British justice system – or what counts for
it. The UK High Court will hear arguments from his team that his extradition to
the United States from Britain to face 18 charges under the Espionage Act of
1917 would violate various precepts of justice. The proceedings hope to reverse
the curt, impoverished decision by the remarkably misnamed Justice Jonathan
Swift of the same court on June 6, 2023.
At this point, the number
of claims the defence team can make are potentially
many. Economy, however, has been called for: the two judges hearing the case
have asked for a substantially shortened argument, showing, yet again, that the
quality of British mercy tends to be sourly short. The grounds Assange can resort to are troublingly vast: CIA-sponsored
surveillance, his contemplated assassination, his contemplated abduction,
violation of attorney-client privilege, his poor health, the violation of
free-speech, a naked, politicised attempt by an imperium to capture one of its greatest and most trenchant
critics, and bad faith by the US government.
Campaigners for the cause have been frenzied. But as
the solution to Assange’s plight is likely to be
political, the burden falls on politicians to stomp and drum from within their
various chambers to convince their executive counterparts. In the US Congress, House Resolution 934, introduced on December 13 by Rep.
Paul A. Gosar, an Arizona Republican,
expresses “the sense of the House of Representatives that regular journalistic
activities are protected under the First Amendment, and that the United States
ought to drop all charges against and attempts to extradite Julian Assange.”

The resolution sees a dramatic shift from the
punishing, haute view taken by such figures as the late Democratic Senator
Dianne Feinstein, who was one of the first political figures to suggest that Assange be crucified
on the unsteady timber of the Espionage Act for disclosing US cables and
classified information in 2010. The resolution acknowledges, for instance, that
the disclosures by WikiLeaks “promoted public
transparency through the exposure of the hiring of child prostitutes by Defense
Department contractors, friendly fire incidents, human rights abuses, civilian
killings, and United States use of psychological warfare.” The list could be
sordidly longer but let’s not quibble.
Impressively, drafters of the resolution finally
acknowledge that charging Assange under the Computer
Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA) for alleged conspiracy to help US Army intelligence
analyst Chelsea (then Bradley) Manning access Defense Department computers was
a fabled nonsense. For one, it was “impossible” – Manning “already had access
to the mentioned computer”. Furthermore, “there was no proof Mr Assange had any contact with
said intelligence analyst”.
Ire is also directed at the espionage counts, with
the resolution noting that “no other publisher has ever been prosecuted under
the Espionage Act prior to these 17 charges.” A successful prosecution of
the publisher “would set a precedent allowing the United States to prosecute
and imprison journalists for First Amendment protected activities, including
the obtainment and publication of information, something that occurs on a
regular basis”.

Silences filled with a consensus of propaganda
contaminate almost everything we read, see and hear, warned the late John Pilger last May. War by media is now a key task of
so-called mainstream journalism.
In 1935, the Congress of American Writers
was held in New York City, followed by another two years later. They called on
“the hundreds of poets, novelists, dramatists, critics, short story writers and
journalists” to discuss the “rapid crumbling of capitalism” and the beckoning
of another war.
They were electric events which, according to one
account, were attended by 3,500 members of the public with more than a thousand
turned away.
Arthur Miller, Myra Page, Lillian Hellman, Dashiell Hammett warned that fascism was rising, often
disguised, and the responsibility lay with writers and journalists to speak
out. Telegrams of support from Thomas Mann, John Steinbeck, Ernest Hemingway, C
Day Lewis, Upton Sinclair and Albert Einstein were read out.
The journalist and novelist Martha Gellhorn spoke up for the homeless and unemployed, and “all
of us under the shadow of violent great power.”
Martha, who became a close friend, told me later
over her customary glass of Famous Grouse and soda:
“The responsibility I felt as a journalist was
immense. I had witnessed the injustices and suffering delivered by the
Depression, and I knew, we all knew, what was coming if silences were not
broken.”
Her words echo across the silences today: they are
silences filled with a consensus of propaganda that contaminates almost
everything we read, see and hear. Let me give you one example:
On March 7, [2023] the two oldest newspapers in
Australia, the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, published several pages on “the
looming threat” of China. They coloured the Pacific
Ocean red. Chinese eyes were martial, on the march and menacing. The Yellow
Peril was about to fall down as if by the weight of gravity.
No logical reason was given for an attack on
Australia by China. A “panel of experts” presented no credible evidence: one of
them is a former director of the Australian Strategic Policy Institute, a front
for the Defence Department in Canberra, the Pentagon
in Washington, the governments of Britain, Japan and
Taiwan and the West’s war industry.
“Beijing could strike within three years,” they warned.
“We are not ready.” Billions of dollars are to be spent on American nuclear
submarines, but that, it seems, is not enough.”‘Australia’s holiday from history is over”: whatever that
might mean.
There is no threat to Australia, none. The faraway
“lucky” country has no enemies, least of all China, its largest trading
partner. Yet China-bashing that draws on Australia’s long history of racism
towards Asia has become something of a sport for the self-ordained “experts.”
What do Chinese-Australians make of this? Many are confused and fearful.

Remember when the mainstream media especially
FOX News was calling for an attack on Iraq because Saddam Hussein and the Baath
Party was developing Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMDs)?
FOX News was the main cheerleader for the US
and its European allies to invade Iraq and take out Saddam Hussein. To be fair,
CNN and MSNBC and other news outlets were also cheerleading for war, but FOX
News was clearly, the loudest voice. Today, FOX News is at it again with other
right-wing media networks who have been also calling for the US and its allies
to bomb Iran to stop the Axis of Resistance that includes Hezbollah in Southern
Lebanon, Syria, Iraqi resistance groups and now Yemen, with the Houthi rebels who have been launching missile attacks
against Israeli and Western commercial ships in the Red Sea in support of
Gaza.
Fox News senior strategic analyst, who a former
General with the US Army, Jack Keane, a war hawk who served as an advisor to manage
the US occupation of Iraq and a member of the Defense Policy Board Advisory Committee. Keane is also chairman
of AM General, a heavy vehicle and automotive manufacturer that produces
military Humvees for civilian and military use.
Recently, Keane spoke on FOX News regarding the 60 + strikes conducted by US
and British fighter aircraft on Yemen. The main points he made on the FOX
network was that US and its British allies already had their targets pinpointed
due to Centcom, the US central command,
“they were likely tracking
the Houthis were trying to hide some of this
capability for the last few days. But we got excellent surveillance there, and
likely we will, we are able to determine whether they are moving a lot of this,
they will finish the assessment, believe me, I think if there is capability there,
that is still significant, we should reattack and
then we got to remind ourselves what’s really happening here.”
Keane went on to say that Iran is “the center of gravity”, therefore it must be attacked to stop its proxies in the
region:
The center of gravity for the aggression in the
Middle East that we’re experiencing is Iran. We have said this time and time
and time again, and to deter the proxies themselves by hitting them will not be
sufficient. We have got to go after Iran themselves by hitting them
will not be sufficient. We have got to go after Iran, they are, as I mentioned,
the center of gravity, Centcom has a table of targets
that they have provided to the administration in how to go about doing that
comprehensively to shut down their support for these proxies that has got to be
high on our list. And what that really means Brian, we have got to
re-set the strategy in dealing with Iran in the region and admit the fact that
this thing has failed. When they came in, they removed the Trump sanctions.
Iran’s flush with oil money now, as a result of it, they went after the nuclear
deal. That failed.

Keane is not the only psychopath who wants World War
III, another frequent quest on FOX News, Lindsey Graham who is South
Carolina’s Republican Senator and a Pro-Israel activist was quoted in a FOX
News article, ‘Lindsey
Graham calls for warning Iran of retaliation if Hamas escalates, tells ‘Squad’
to ‘shut the hell up’ reported that the “South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham castigated the
far left’s “appeasement” of Iran’s regime, which he said has not prevented
attacks by Hamas against Israel, telling the Palestinian-friendly “Squad”
contingent in Congress to “shut the hell up.” On America Reports, a
show produced by FOX News, Graham said that
“The only way you’re going to keep this war from
escalating is to hold Iran accountable. How much more death and destruction do
we have to take from the Iranian regime? I am confident this was planned and
funded by the Iranians.”
Sounding like a far-right Israeli politician, Graham
also said that
“Hamas
is a bunch of animals who deserve to be treated like
animals” he added that “Israeli forces should use this opportunity to invade
Palestinian territory and “dismantle” the militant group.”
Graham used the Hitler comparison to the Hamas’
resistance as “an effort to kill
Jewish people on par with that of former German Chancellor Adolf Hitler in the
1930s.”

The exhaustive 84-page brief submitted by South
Africa to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) charging Israel with
genocide is hard to refute. Israel’s campaign of indiscriminate killing,
wholesale destruction of infrastructure, including housing, hospitals and water
treatment plants, along with its use of starvation as a weapon, accompanied by
genocidal rhetoric from its political and military leaders who speak of
destroying Gaza and ethnically cleansing the 2.3 million Palestinians, makes a
strong case against Israel for genocide.
Israel’s smearing of South Africa as “the legal arm”
of Hamas exemplifies the bankruptcy of its defense, a smear replicated by those
who claim that demonstrations held to call for a ceasefire and protect

Gaza. South Africa is demanding an emergency suspension of Israel's aerial and
ground assault on Gaza in front of the United Nations' highest court. From The
Hague, we hear from Diala Shamas,
a senior staff attorney at the Center for Constitutional Rights, the
organization that sued President Biden in November, accusing him of failing to
prevent genocide in Gaza. Shamas recaps the two days
of hearings and discusses other avenues for holding Israel accountable.
"Whether it's at the ICJ or whether it's in federal court in the United
States, we're really looking to government to do everything that they can to
uphold their duty to prevent an unfolding genocide," says Shamas.

Introduction
This article examines the criminalization of
International Justice as well as the stranglehold exerted by Washington over
both the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the International Court of
Justice (ICJ).
While we firmly
support and endorse the Republic of South Africa’s carefully formulated Legal
Procedure against the State of Israel in relation to the Genocide Convention
(Click Here to access 84
page Submission, Excerpts Below), the fundamental
question is whether it will contribute to repealing the ongoing
genocide and saving the lives of tens of thousands of civilians.
Will the
Vote by the World Court’s 15 Judges be based on “politics” or
on an independent and “honest” legal analysis and documentation of the
overwhelming evidence –presented by South Africa’s Legal Team– pertaining to
“alleged” acts of genocide by Israel?
We must recognize that there is “A Sense of
Urgency”:
The latter part of
this article focusses on Principle IV of the
Nuremberg Charter.
It is a proposal
which has not been the object of media coverage and/or debate by anti-war
activists. While it is predicated on international law, its conduct
does not require the political rubber stamp of either the
ICC or the ICJ.
Based on the
Nuremberg Charter, what is required is a grass-roots campaign

Much Has
Changed Now That Israel is Being Charged by the International Court of Justice
for Violating the UN's Genocide Convention.
The study of how
power is acquired and exercised is very old. This study is much older than the
social sciences. The pursuit of power and the study of power are deeply
intertwined. The questions are many. Who has power? How did they get it,
maintain it, and augment it? How can one power cartel displace and replace the
base of another conglomerate of power?
The study of power is
integral to the study of the war, economics, education, technological
transformation, propaganda, religion, and cultural expression. Weaving in and
out of the study of power is the topic of the rise and fall and resurgence of Zionist
Power.
The power of the cascades of peoples identified over
times as Pharisees, Hebrews, Israelites, God’s Chosen People, Jews and Zionists
forms a unique topic often connected to the study of power. In fact or in
legend, Jesus Christ is one of those who was deeply engaged in the study and
criticism of Zionist Power.
In periods when Zionist Power has become dominant,
as is the case now, part of the dominance is usually expressed by governing
authorities that put up walls of censorship and obfuscation meant to minimize
research into the basis of Zionist Power. This research usually has strong
economic components. The research tip, follow
the money, is especially apt when it comes to the study of Zionist
Power.
For Zionist Power to flourish, it must be made
fairly invisible yet well equipped with coercive weaponry to impose severe
punishments on those who do study the subject in spite of the often
considerable dangers attached to this kind of research.
Those who do study the matter, such as the USA’s
most exceptional industrialist of all times, Henry Ford, usually come to
the conclusion that so much over-concentration of influence in such a small and
self-serving minority has disastrous consequences for society at large.
Think of the disjoint we are seeing throughout the
West as large numbers of citizens become appalled by the grotesque display of
the most ruthless forms of genocide being pressed on civilian populations of
Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.
The citizen groups opposed to the US-Israeli embrace
of genocide as an instrument of public policy have no well-embedded
constitutional platforms on which to park their political principles in the
existing structure of political parties in parliaments, legislatures and the US
Congress. In the USA, for instance, all three front runners for presidential
office in the looming November election, are owned
lock-stock-and-barrel by the Israel Lobby.
This Lobby, including the ADL and AIPAC in the USA,
are currently hard at work creating media propaganda at the behest of their
patrons in the world’s pre-eminent Baby Slaughtering Country.
US President Biden’s hands are especially filthy
with Palestinian blood. He deserves a heavy spotlight this year as one of the
primary culprits being put on trial by International Court of Justice
(ICJ) as it explores South Africa’s allegation that the UN’s Genocide
Convention has been violated.
The British government might very well be found
guilty of complicity in a genocide that both Conservative Leader Rishi Sunak and Labour Leader Keir Starmer have sanctioned and embraced with ghoulish
enthusiasm.

Once considered a fringe pipe dream, the once taboo
idea of Israelis recolonizing portions of Gaza has
been reinvigorated after Hamas’ October 7 attack and the subsequent Israeli war
on the embattled Palestinian territory, which has killed more than 22,000 Palestinians, internally displaced more
than 1.9 million, and reduced the majority of the Strip into rubble.
Just as 2024 began, Israeli politicians renewed calls to recolonize
Gaza, and recent remarks from Israeli lawmakers coupled with a new
settler-colonist campaign suggest that Israeli annexation of the beleaguered Palestinian
territory has been adopted as official government policy.
On January 1, 2024, Israeli National Security
Minister Itamar Ben Gvir
told the press and members of his Jewish Power Party that the war presents an
“opportunity to concentrate on encouraging the migration of the residents of
Gaza,” proclaiming,
We cannot withdraw from any territory we are in in the Gaza Strip. Not only do I not rule out Jewish
settlement there, I believe it is also an important thing,”
Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel
Smotrich echoed Ben Gvir’s
remarks during his party’s faction meeting, touting,
[the] correct
solution [is]… to encourage the voluntary migration of Gaza’s residents to
countries that will agree to take in the refugees.”
Talking to members of his Religious Zionism Party, Smotrich predicted that “Israel will permanently control
the territory of the Gaza Strip,” as well as reestablish settlements there. A
few days before, in an interview with Israel’s Channel 12, Smotrich
said,
We will rule there [Gaza] security-wise, and in
order to rule there security-wise for a long time, we will have to be a
civilian there.”
In a separate incident on Monday, Yisrael Beytenu (“Israel is our home”)
party leader Avigdor Liberman
advocated for Israel to reoccupy southern Lebanon. Israel occupied part of
southern Lebanon from 1982 to 2000.
Liberman maintained that Israel would not annex
or build settlements in Lebanon but stressed:
[e]verything between the Litani [River] and Israel must be under the control of the
IDF [Israeli military].”

Few cities in the world are as beautiful as
Nablus, endearingly referred to as the “uncrowned queen” of Palestine.
Founded by the Emperor Vespasian, two years after he
destroyed the temple in Jerusalem in 70CE, this ancient Palestinian city of
rolling hills and sandstone is filled with rich stories of antiquity.
In the evenings, as the sun begins to dip and shadows
lengthen, it is easy to imagine legionnaires once walking these maze-like
streets. The Roman canal still flows under the city, passing close to the
amphitheatre.
For most of its history, Nablus, which lay on the
trade route between Damascus, Jerusalem and Cairo, was a principal centre of
trade and manufacture. The Palestinian stock exchange was based here.
Today, however, its fortunes have drastically
changed.
Today, it’s a city under siege.
Surrounded on all sides by illegal Israeli settlements and military bases, the
roads leading to and from Nablus conceal a scandal about which the
international community has remained largely silent.
The road south to Ramallah runs through Huwwara, an occupied Palestinian village that for years,
well before the 7 October attacks, was blighted by settler violence.
In February last year, settlers tore through this
village, torching cars, setting farmland on fire and vandalising
homes, in an act that was roundly condemned as a pogrom.
Since then, the situation for many Palestinians here
hasn’t changed for the better.
For Palestinians attempting to journey in and out of
Nablus, many have to take detours to avoid encounters with Israeli
soldiers. More seriously, there’s the risk of running into armed Israeli
settlers.
Since the 7 October attack, the settlers, who in
recent years have received hundreds of millions of dollars in state funding,
have carried out more than 200 attacks on Palestinians, according to B’Tselem and Yesh Din, two human
rights groups documenting attacks in the West Bank.
In the same period, Israeli forces have killed more
than 200 people, more than 25 percent of whom are children, according to the
United Nations.

Jordan’s Prime Minister Bisher
Al-Khasawneh told parliament this week that Amman would
present evidence to the court in support of South Africa’s case. The first
public hearing for the case took place at the court in The Hague on Thursday
with a second taking place on Friday.
Jordan was the first Arab-majority country to back South Africa’s landmark filing, which accuses Israel of having breached
the 1948 Genocide Convention.
The case was later backed by Egypt and several other
countries.
The leaders of Egypt, Jordan, and Palestine met in
the Jordanian resort town of Aqaba on Wednesday.
At the tripartite summit, the three leaders
“rejected” Israeli proposals to forcibly displace Palestinians from Gaza,
according to a statement from the Jordanian palace.
They also called for an immediate end to the Israeli
onslaught on Gaza.

are multiple indications that members of the foreign policy establishment are
increasingly worried that the American people are growing weary of Washington’s
strategic overextension and the excessive costs in treasure and blood that role
imposes. Elites show their nervousness through desperate attempts to
preserve the policy status quo. One recent example was the effort in
Congress to limit the president’s powers and options regarding NATO.
In December 2023, hawks finally achieved their goal
when both the Senate and House approved a
provision
attached to the National Defense Authorization Act that would bar a president
from withdrawing the U.S. from NATO without the approval of two-thirds of the
Senate or separate legislation passed by both houses of Congress. Washington Post analyst Meagan
Vasquez notes that “the bipartisan attempt to add checks and
balances highlights the lengths Congress is willing to go to protect the
U.S.-NATO relationship amid ongoing Russian aggression and after years of criticism
of the military alliance during Trump’s presidential tenure.”
Yet even the Brookings Institution’s Michael E.
O’Hanlon, a prominent establishment foreign policy figure, concedes that
Congress is entering uncharted and controversial territory. He points out
“that there is precedent for presidents withdrawing unilaterally
from treaties without consulting Congress. A chief executive conceivably could
push back on efforts to restrict that [authority] particularly if the treaty
addresses the United States’ defense posture abroad. A “future president
might challenge such an effort and invoke the president’s authorities as
commander in chief under Article 2 of the Constitution.”
O’Hanlon is probably correct. Indeed, a
congressional-presidential collision is likely to take place even if critics of
promiscuous military interventions do not attempt to end U.S. membership in
NATO. Members of the “NATO forever” crowd will react badly even if a
president committed to a more restrained foreign policy merely attempts to
reduce the U.S. military footprint in Europe. Such a move would indicate
a long overdue willingness on the part of an administration to move beyond
burden sharing toward burden shifting with respect to transatlantic security
policy.
Even a partial withdrawal of U.S. forces from Europe
would signal to the European members of NATO that going forward they would need
to accept primary responsibility for their own defense and the continent’s
security. NATO partisans would regard such a policy change as undermining
continued U.S. dominance of the trans-Atlantic security relationship.
That faction in Congress would almost certainly move to thwart a reformist
administration.
U.S. hardliners already have demonstrated a
determination to prevent any president from implementing a less interventionist
policy elsewhere in the world. In October 2019, congressional hawks led
by neo-conservative Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) secured a resolution condemning President Donald Trump for even considering a partial
withdrawal of U.S. forces from Syria. Fears that Trump might remove U.S.
forces from Europe during a second term have become widespread in Washington. Indeed, those
worries on the part of America’s stodgy foreign policy elite were a major
reason why Congress passed the new bi-partisan measure to prohibit the
president from unilaterally exiting NATO.

On January 3, it was revealed that the far-right Israeli government of
Benjamin Netanyahu is actively discussing proposals to expel millions of
Palestinians to African countries in exchange for a fixed price.
The discussion on expelling millions of Gazans has supposedly entered the mainstream thinking in
Israel starting on October 7. However, the fact that this discussion remains
active over three months since the start of the Israeli war on Gaza indicates
that the Israeli proposals are not an outcome of a specific historical moment,
for example, the Al-Aqsa Flood operation.
Even a glance at Israeli historical records points
to the fact that the mass expulsion of Palestinians – known in Israel as
‘Transfer’ – was, and remains, a primary Israeli strategy that aims at fixing
Israel’s so-called ‘demographic problem.’
Long before fighters from the Al-Qassam
Brigades and other Palestinian movements stormed the fence separating besieged
Gaza from Israel on October 7, Israeli politicians discussed, in fact, on many
occasions, how to reduce the overall Palestinian population to
maintain the demographic Jewish majority in historic Palestine.
The idea was not only confined to Israel’s
extremists; it was even discussed by the likes of former Israeli Defense
Minister Avigdor Lieberman when he suggested in 2014 a proposal for a ‘population
exchange plan.’
Even supposedly liberal intellectuals and historians
have supported this idea in principle and practice.

Israel’s relationship with the United Nations,
international institutions and international law has at times bristled with
suspicion and blatant hostility. In a famous cabinet meeting in 1955, Prime
Minister David Ben-Gurion famously knocked back the suggestion that the United
Nations 1947 plan for partitioning Palestine had been instrumental in creating
the State of Israel.
“No, no, no!” he roared in demur. “Only the daring of the Jews
created the state, and not any oom-shmoom
resolution.”
In the shadow of the Holocaust, justifications for
violence against foes mushroom multiply. Given that international law, notably
in war, entails restraint and limits on the use of force, doctrines have been
selectively pruned and shaped, landscaped to suit the needs of the Jewish
state. When the strictures of convention have been ignored, the reasoning is
clipped for consistency: defenders of international law and its institutions
have been either missing in the discussion or subservient to Israel’s enemies.
They were nowhere to be seen, for instance, when Egypt’s Gamal
Abdel Nasser was preparing for war in the spring of 1967. Israel’s
tenaciously talented statesman, Abba Eban, reflected in his
autobiography
about the weakness of the UN in withdrawing troops from the Sinai when
pressured by Nasser to do so. It “destroyed the most central hopes and
expectations on which we had relied on withdrawing from Sinai”.
These steely attitudes have seen international
convention and practice, in the Israeli context, treated less than a Dickensian
ass as protean instruments, useful to deploy when convenient, best modified or
ignored when nationally inconvenient. This is most evident regarding the
Israel-Hamas war, which is now into its third month. Here, Israeli
authorities are resolute in their calls that Islamic terrorism is the enemy, that its destruction is fundamental for civilisation, and that crushing measures are entirely
proportionate. Palestinian civilian deaths might be regrettable but all routes
of blame lead to Hamas and its resort to human shields.
These arguments have failed to convince a growing
number of countries. One of them is South Africa. On December 29, the Republic filed an application in the International Court of Justice
alleging “violations by Israel regarding the Convention on the Prevention and
Punishment of the Crime of Genocide […] in relation to Palestinians in the Gaza
Strip.” Various “acts and omissions” by the Israeli government were alleged to
be “genocidal in character, as they are committed with the requisite specific
intent … to destroy the Palestinians in Gaza as part of the broader Palestinian
national, racial and ethnical group”. What Pretoria is seeking is both a review
of the merits of the case and the imposition of provisional measures that would
essentially modify, if not halt, Israel’s Gaza operation.
Prior to its arguments made before the 15-judge
panel on January 12, Israel rejected “with contempt the blood libel by South
Africa in its application to the International Court of Justice (ICJ).” The
Israeli Foreign Ministry went so far as to suggest that the court was being exploited,
while South Africa was, in essence, “collaborating with a terror group that
calls for the destruction of Israel.”

Who is sending Israel weapons?
Since
Israel’s war on Gaza began in October, several rights groups have initiated
legal proceedings regarding arms exports to Israel.
On Nov. 6, Palestinian human rights organizations,
Al-Haq, Al Mezan Center for
Human Rights, and the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights launched legal action
in the Federal Court of Australia to access all arms export permits that have
been granted to Israel since Oct.7.
“We know that hundreds of permits have been issued
in recent years, but the Australian government keeps the basic details secret:
what items are being exported, who is making them, what are they used for?,” Rawan Arraf, executive director
of the Australian Centre for International Justice, whose organization is
supporting the Palestinian groups’ application, said in a press release.”
Australia’s arms
exports
are shrouded in secrecy and have come under additional scrutiny after a Senate
hearing in October found that 52 defense permits were granted to the Israeli
government in 2023, with more than 350 being granted since 2017.
On Nov. 13, Palestinians sued United States
President Joe Biden for failing to prevent genocide in Gaza and to stop the
administration’s military and diplomatic support. Three days later the
plaintiffs filed an urgent motion to immediately halt U.S. support for Israel.
“Palestinian children in Gaza are undoubtedly
targets as repeated Israeli military offensives destroy their homes, schools,
and neighborhoods, as Israeli forces use U.S.-made and funded weapons to kill
them and their families with impunity,” Khaled Quzmar, general director at Defense for Children
International – Palestine, and a plaintiff in the lawsuit, said in a press
release.”
Bloomberg revealed a U.S. Defense Department
document entitled “Israel Senior Leader” requests, dating to late October,
listing the weapons Israel is seeking for its ongoing war on Gaza. According to
Bloomberg, the weapons arsenal is already being shipped. The arms are listed below: . . . .

Most of the world has watched the Israeli assault on
Gaza in horror. As tens of thousands have been killed and millions displaced,
tens of millions of people around the world have poured onto the streets to
demand an end to the violence. But a few select others have taken to the pages
of our most influential media to demand an escalation of the violence and that
the United States help Israel strike not just Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon but
Iran as well.
“I might have once favored a cease-fire with Hamas,
but not now,” wrote Bush-era diplomat Dennis Ross in The New
York Times, explaining that “if Hamas is perceived as winning, it will validate
the group’s ideology of rejection, give leverage and momentum to Iran and its
collaborators and put [our] own governments on the defensive.”
In the wake of Hamas’ October 7 assault,
arch-neoconservative official John Bolton was invited on CNN, where he claimed that what we
witnessed was really an “Iranian attack on Israel using Hamas as a surrogate”
and that the U.S. must immediately respond. When asked whether he had any
evidence, given the implications of what he was saying, he shrugged and
replied, “This is not a court of law.”
On December 28, Bolton doubled down on his hawkish
stance, writing in the pages of Britain’s Daily
Telegraph that “The West may now have no option but to attack Iran” – a
position he has held for at least a decade.
Meanwhile, in an interview with Saudi state-funded broadcaster Iran International, senior
Bush official Mark Wallace bellowed that, “This is Iran’s work. Iran will
suffer at the hands of retribution and will suffer the consequences of
supporting this terror group and its horrific attack on Israel.” Wallace continued:
No civilized country wants further conflict. But the
Iranians are forcing the civilized world’s hand. And you will see a dramatic
response soon as the United States, Israel, and our allies begin to position
assets around the world in preparation.”
If there was any doubt as to what sort of “dramatic
response” Wallace wanted to see, he added a message to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard
Corps: “I look forward to seeing you hanged from the end of one of your own
ropes.”
Iran was recently the victim of a deadly terrorist
attack. As mourners commemorated the U.S. assassination of Qassem
Soleimani, two bombs exploded, killing 91 and
injuring hundreds more. In this context, it was understandable why Iranian
officials pointed the finger at the U.S. and Israel.

Latypova worked more than 25 years in the

they are not required to comply with U.S. law governing the manufacturing
quality, testing, effectiveness, safety, and labeling of medical products.
Yet while such laws did not apply to these “COVID-19
vaccines,” the government advanced an orchestrated public relations façade that
standard testing, monitoring and approval processes were being strictly
observed by the CDC and FDA, even as many thousands of injuries and deaths had
been steadily documented and independent medical experts and media sounded
alarms only to be canceled my legacy and social media corporations.
In an early December video lecture, the former pharma
executive laid out evidence for how the DoD, HHS, and
other U.S. government agencies, along with other governments and pharmaceutical
companies, were involved in “a conspiracy to commit mass murder through
bioterrorism and informational warfare operations worldwide.”

Cease-fire in Israel and Palestine.” That is the name of the resolution that many
members of a variety of unions have signed on to, believing that this would
bring peace to the Middle East, by having the guns go silent.”
The U.S. labor movement decided it was finally
necessary to lend its collective voice to the ever-growing chorus of disgust
for the war, although it never refers to the Israeli genocide of the Palestinians.
But wait, let’s analyze the resolution and see if all these unions have really
put their money where their mouths are.
The resolution states: “We, members of the American
labor movement, mourn the loss of life in Israel and Palestine. We express our
solidarity with all workers and our common desire for peace in Palestine and
Israel, and we call on President Joe Biden and Congress to push for an
immediate ceasefire and end to the siege of Gaza. We cannot bomb our way to
peace. We also condemn any hate crimes against Muslims, Jews, or anyone else.”
In issuing this call, U.S. unions are joining the
efforts of 13 Members of Congress and others who are calling for an immediate
cease-fire.
The basic rights of people must be restored. Water, fuel, food, and other humanitarian aid must be
allowed into Gaza, power must be restored, and foreign nationals and
Palestinians requiring medical care must be allowed out of Gaza.
While calling for the restoration of water, fuel,
food and other humanitarian aid is absolutely required if more Palestinians are
not going to die from these atrocities, one must ask who controls the situation
in Gaza. Whether Israel decides to allow this to happen, even
temporarily, is completely up to Israel because there is no call for Israel to
relinquish control of Gaza. Thus, without a permanent cease-fire, and
the relinquishing of control over Gaza, this is just an empty call. Putting
aside the fact that the entirety of Israel is on occupied Palestinian
territory, without calling for the relinquishing of at least the boundaries of
Gaza, Israel can at any time, resume its genocidal lockdown. The U.S. labor
movement must call for the end not only of the siege but the end of Israel’s
control of Gaza, at least as a start, but the resolution does not even mention
this as a possibility. Israel, as far as the resolution goes, has the right to
retain control.

Reading the tea leaves for the 2024 economy is
challenging. On January 5th, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said we have achieved a “soft landing,” with wages rising faster than prices
in 2023. But critics are questioning the official figures, and prices are
still high. Surveys show that consumers remain apprehensive.
There are other concerns. On Dec. 24, 2023, Catherine Herridge, a senior investigative correspondent
for CBS News covering national security and intelligence, said on “Face the Nation,” “I just feel a lot of concern that
2024 may be the year of a black swan event. This is a national security event
with high impact that’s very hard to predict.”
What sort of event she didn’t say, but speculations
have included a major cyberattack; a banking crisis due to a wave of defaults from high
interest rates, particularly in commercial real estate; an oil embargo due to war. Any major black swan could
prick the massive derivatives bubble, which the Bank for International
Settlements put at over one quadrillion (1,000 trillion)
dollars as
far back as 2008. With global GDP at only $100 trillion, there is not enough money in
the world to satisfy all these derivative claims. A derivative crisis helped
trigger the 2008 banking collapse, and that could happen again.
The dangers of derivatives have been known for
decades. Warren Buffett wrote in 2002 that they were “financial weapons of
mass destruction.” James Rickards
wrote in
U.S. News & World Report in
2012 that they should be banned. Yet Congress has not acted. This article looks
at the current derivative threat, and at what might motivate our politicians to
defuse it.

This is a bold and profoundly important book,
not only for the portrait of the evil spymaster Allen Dulles, but even more so
for its examination of the legacy he spawned – the creation of a cabal hidden
behind the public face of the United States government
that secretly runs the country today on
behalf of wealthy elites.
The psychopathic Allen Dulles was the enforcer
for this group, called “the power elite” by C. Wright Mills in the 1950s.
In recent years, especially since September 11, 2001, as its power has
expanded, it has been given different names – the deep state, the national security
state, deep politics,etc. –
but that has not diminished its power one jot. Like a patient who goes to
a doctor seeking a label for vague yet disturbing symptoms, people may feel
relief from the naming, but the disease continues until the root cause is
eliminated. Aye, there’s the rub!
Dulles is dead, but the structure he created lives
on and flourishes under new operatives.Because of his
intrepid examination of these forces, David Talbot can expect to be ignored and
attacked by disinformation specialists of various stripes, who
will use specious reasoning, lies, and any small weaknesses
in his style or sourcing to dismiss the essential truths of his well-documented
and beautifully written thesis. First ignore, and
if that doesn’t work, then attack, is the
modus operandi of these propagandists who populate the mainstream
media, the people Dulles had in his pocket and whom Talbot excoriates
throughout the book.
When an author has the guts to accuse America’s
longest-reigning CIA Director of “a reign of treason,” he can expect blowback
from media and academic spokesmen of the deep-state.
Talbot is a gifted writer whose narrative style
quickly engrosses the reader. Two chapters into The Devil’s Chessboard, one
can’t help being nauseated by his account of Allen Dulles’s blood-chilling
betrayal of large numbers of European Jews targeted by Hitler. “Dulles,”
Talbot writes, “was more in step with many Nazi leaders than he was with
President Roosevelt.”
Together
with his brother John Foster Dulles, who would become Secretary of State under
Eisenhower, Allen Dulles had long-standing business ties to German
industrial giants such as I G Farben (manufacturers
of Zyklon B used in the gas chambers) and Krupp
steel.
Their law firm, Sullivan and Cromwell, “was at the
center of an intricate network of banks,investment
firms, and industrial conglomerates that
rebuilt Germany after World War I.”
Slow to publicly break with Hitler and his
allies, the Dulles brothers, especially Allen, reserved a place in his ear and
a place at the table for his Nazi friends. When he was recruited into the
Office of Strategic Services (OSS) in 1941 and slipped into neutral Switzerland
in late 1942, he was there not so much to support Roosevelt’s war efforts
as to protect the interests of his law firm’s German clients.
In doing so, he betrayed personal friends and anonymous Jews to Hitler’s
killers in a heartless manner hard to fathom.
Whenever
Dulles had a chance to publicize the plight of the Jews, he buried the reports.
For example,when a German
cable reported that 120,000 Hungarian Jews, including children, were to be
taken for work in the “labor services” – a euphemism for a trip to Auschwitz –
“Dulles’s communiques to OSS headquarters used
the same banal language as the Nazis, referring
blandly to the ‘conscription’ of Hungary’s Jews.” While
noting that academic researchers decades later remain
hesitant to condemn Dulles for this, Talbot will have none of it. It is
for good reason that he entitles his book The
Devil’s Chessboard. He thinks Dulles was satanic.
In addition to his chilling indifference to the
slaughter of the Jews, Dulles
worked overtime to undermine FDR’s adamant insistence that he would accept
nothing less than an “unconditional surrender” and that Nazi war criminals
would face justice. Dulles worked his wiles at saving many Nazi war
criminals and returning them to
power in post-war West-Germany. Among them was Reinhard
Gehlen, Hitler’s notorious chief of intelligence.
In a talk to the Council of Foreign Relations on December 3, 1945, as the first
Nuremburg trial was underway, he told the meeting, “Most men of the caliber
required to [run thenew Germany]
suffer a political taint.
We have already found out that
you can’t run the railroads without taking in some [Nazi] party
members.” Couching this in anti-Soviet rhetoric for an audience of
like-minded power brokers, many of whom were no doubt as ant-Semitic as he was,
Dulles made sure it happened. He worked hard to save the neck of
Himmler’s former chief of staff and commander of the security forces in Italy,
SS general Karl Wolff. Called the “Bureaucrat of Death,” this killer was
one of many Dulles saved under
his separate peace pact, Operation Sunrise, a
traitorous circumvention of Roosevelt’s insistence on justice. SS colonel
Eugen Dollman was
another. In this operation, he worked closely with James Jesus Angleton,
the future CIA head of counterintelligence who saw Dulles as his maestro.
Working together they helped many notorious Nazi war criminals escape to the
United States,Latin America,
and other countries via the “Nazi ratlines.”

on the 60th anniversary of a forgotten British campaign in the country
involving brute force and deliberate attacks on civilians, declassified files
show.

UK air strikes on the Houthis
in Yemen – who have dared to challenge Western support for Israel over Gaza –
are taking place exactly 60 years after a brutal British bombing campaign in
the country.
The so-called Radfan
revolt of early 1964 in modern-day Yemen has long passed out of historical
memory.
We should remember it though, as evidence of how
British foreign policy is practised in reality – and
how we only truly find out about that reality once government files are
released decades later.
Independence
on Our Terms
The Radfan is a
mountainous area about 50 miles north of Aden, Yemen’s major southern port. In
the early 1960s, it was part of a British colonial creation – the Federation of
South Arabia, a grouping of sheikhdoms and sultanates established by London.
The UK was prepared to grant independence to South
Arabia, but only on certain terms. Sir Kennedy Trevaskis,
the high commissioner in Aden, noted that independence should “ensure that full
power passed decisively into friendly hands”.
This would leave the territory “dependent on ourselves and subject to our influence”.
Much of the population refused to cooperate with
British plans, and not only politicised groups in
Aden. In January 1964 tribesmen in Radfan launched
raids on federation targets and British convoys in the area.
They were concerned about receiving declining
revenues as a result of British plans for a customs union across the federation
and were inspired by the anti-colonialism of Egypt under Gamal
Abdel Nasser, the Arab nationalist leader in the Middle East.

military under the 1960 treaty that saw the island gain independence from

“The demonstration against the British base at Akrotiri is being organised to
condemn the transport of arms from the British bases to support the Israeli
army’s military operations in the Gaza Strip,” said Charis
Pashias, head of the Cyprus Peace Council.
Since the latest escalation of the Israel-Palestine
conflict began on October 7, locals have seen a “daily” increase in the number
of flights from Akrotiri, Pashias
said.
The base is about 40 minutes flying time from Tel
Aviv.
People have also “become aware of the illegal
presence of thousands of American soldiers now stationed in Akrotiri,”
he added.
Britain’s Ministry of Defence
has released some information on RAF flights between Akrotiri
and Israel but refuses to specify what is being transported and will not
disclose details of US activity from Cyprus.

The
digital ID push is escalating.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres
is in Davos these days for the annual World Economic
Summit (WEF), and his address at one of the panels has been in keeping with the meeting’s
agenda(s) – but also, clearly, those recently forcefully pushed by the world
organization.
Among the schemes Guterres
spoke about are the UN’s Global Digital Compact and the Sustainable Development
Goals.
The first consists of several proposals, including digital ID that is linked to
people’s bank accounts,
while the second, overarching one, that enjoys the support of some of the
world’s most powerful countries, also involves digital ID, and UN’s “vision” of
disinformation moderation (also known as censorship).
Guterres said that Global Digital Compact would
be a major contributor to what he called “the digital connectivity gap.”
Referring to the overall project as multi-stakeholder, the UN chief noted that
“AI” would play a role in building the public and private sector’s capability
of a “networked governance model.”
More data sharing seems to be at the heart of all
this, while in order to keep control over the way “AI” is used in the future, Guterres and his team want to see governments and (private)
tech companies work together.
All these initiatives will feature at the “Summit
for the Future” this coming September. One idea voiced by Guterres
is to make globalist organizations – such as G20, international financial
institutions, and the UN itself, even closer.
A recent UN Policy Brief discusses the complex
“pyramid” of initiatives, where until now something called “Our Common Agenda”
(of which Global Digital Compact is one mechanism) was designed to accelerate

Nor is there much of a difference between the havoc

constituents,

wishes of the electorate, cheat taxpayers out of hard-earned dollars, favor the

Psychopaths and politicians both have a tendency to
be selfish, callous, remorseless users of
others, irresponsible, pathological liars, glib, con artists, lacking in remorse and shallow.
Charismatic politicians, like criminal
psychopaths, exhibit a failure to accept
responsibility for their actions, have a high sense of self-worth, are chronically
unstable, have socially deviant lifestyles, need constant stimulation, have
parasitic lifestyles and possess unrealistic goals.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re talking about
