Dear Colleagues and Friends of CEIMSA,
On this day, 235 years ago, what has come to be known as “The French Revolution” moved into full swing, against the incomparable odds of fully armed feudal monarchies hostile to the idea of relinquishing their monopoly of power over a new class-conscious bourgeoisie, in alliance with peasants and urban workers. This motley coalition of revolutionaries had as its objective their emancipation from the PsyOps of the day, conducted on behalf of the entrenched powers; they demanded political liberty, economic equality and social fraternity before the law. The many betrayals of these revolutionary objectives are obvious today --as the proverbial baby was thrown out with the bath-- but at this moment, in its historical context, these ideas were new, unprecedented and inspired direct action.
More than two centuries later, the corruption of this bourgeois revolution invites fragmented comparisons with component elements of the ancient regime; a counterrevolutionary nostalgia has become a cottage industry, serving the status quo ante bellum. Nevertheless, contradictions abound in the material world, and these quick-fix ideological interventions are at best temporary. No semantic manipulations, no false-flag deceptions, no formal ruling-class hypocrisies can bury the truth forever, and measures must be constantly taken to keep the lid on tight, to prevent the light of day from exposing real contradictions in our everyday lives. Such measures are not free of contradictions themselves, however, for the forces of “order” and their masters who benefit from this deadly arrangement have reached a point of alienation where they are estranged from their own needs and the legitimate desires of the masses they depend upon for their existence. They have no future, and their wretched mental state is sad, if not distressing.
The oligarchs and the social classes that defend them must fall.
The 20+ items below, selected from the alternative social Anglophone media, offer ceimsa readers the opportunity to study Anglophone culture as it develops today and to evaluate the impact this media has on the class struggles we are witnessing around the world, both against imperial exploitation and against local tyrannies. Once again we can see historic alliances dissolving and new formations in the making, as dramatic and, at times, as confusing as those which occurred in the period after July 14, 1789.

“Washington Faces Defeat in Red Sea”

The Houthis have agreed to end their attacks on commercial traffic in the Red Sea if Israel allows the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinians. This is not just a reasonable proposal, it’s a policy that is supported by the vast majority of people around the world.
As of mid-February, container shipping through Red Sea had declined by approximately 90% since December 2023; shipping via the Red Sea typically accounts for approximately 10-15% of international maritime trade….
Alternate shipping routes around Africa add about 11,000 nautical miles, 1-2 weeks of transit time, and approximately $1 million in fuel costs for each voyage. For many shipping companies, the combined costs of crew bonuses, war risk insurance (roughly 1000% more than pre-war costs)…

“How Labour Became the Party of Big Business”

Twelve months before seizing power in last week’s historic election victory, Keir Starmer and the Labour Party welcomed with open arms an unprecedented lobbying campaign by the UK’s most powerful corporations.
Weapons manufacturers implicated in human rights abuses in Gaza bent the ears of would-be defence secretaries. Incoming climate change ministers met with oil companies. Labour ministers who will now be responsible for curbing the excesses of the City of London were wined and dined by financial services executives. Public affairs firms representing asset managers, the tobacco industry, gig economy firms and tax-avoiding mega corporations secured meeting after meeting after meeting with future ministers.
In a high-voltage campaign that was simultaneously secretive yet enacted in plain sight, lobbyists worked hard to ensure the policies of the UK’s first ostensibly progressive government in 14 years reflected the interests of their influential clients. And Labour was only too happy to engage.
Westminster’s lax transparency rules mean there is no official record of this mammoth public affairs offensive. The rulebook says the public has no right to know which companies lobby the opposition – a position shared by Starmer’s Labour. In every instance, the party has refused to disclose what was discussed, what promises were made, and even who was at its meetings, saying: “We should not be treated as the government.”
Now, an investigation by openDemocracy lays bare the astonishing access that Big Business had to Starmer and his frontbench team.
openDemocracy spent months gathering information about lobbying meetings from a variety of open sources, including parliamentary meeting rooms’ booking logs, social media posts and events publicised by lobbying firms. These meetings, spanning the past 18 months, have included private meetings, exclusive Q&A sessions, dinners, mixers, briefings, client roundtables, overseas visits and seminars.
We have identified hundreds of meetings that senior figures in the party held with corporate lobbyists, financial institutions and business groups. On average, they met with influential business leaders every single working day of the past year.
This is about more than private dinners and smoked salmon breakfasts. Starmer’s cabinet is about to begin implementing the programme for government laid out in Labour’s manifesto. As Rachel Reeves, his new chancellor, said last month, the “fingerprints” of business are all over Labour’s policies, shaped as they were through an unprecedented level of engagement with corporate lobbyists, financial institutions and business groups.

From World War I to the Present: Dollar denominated debt has been the driving force behind all US led wars.
Wall Street creditors are the main actors.
They were firmly behind Nazi Germany. They financed Operation Barbarossa and the invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941.
1932 Secret Agreement: Wall Street Finances Hitler’s Nazi Party
“On January 4th, 1932, a meeting was held between British financier Montagu Norman (Governor of the Bank of England), Adolf Hitler and Franz Von Papen (who became Chancellor a few months later in May 1932) At this meeting, an agreement on the financing of the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (NSDAP or Nazi Party) was reached.
This meeting was also attended by US policy-makers and the Dulles brothers, something which their biographers do not like to mention.
A year later, on January 14th, 1933, another meeting was held between Adolph Hitler, Germany’s Financier Baron Kurt von Schroeder, Chancellor Franz von Papen and Hitler’s Economic Advisor Wilhelm Keppler took place, where Hitler’s program was fully approved.” (Y. Rubtsov, text below)
Upon the accession of Adolph Hitler as Chancellor in March 1933, a massive privatization program was initiated which bears the finger-prints of Wall Street.
Dr. Hjalmar Schacht –re-appointed in March 1933 by Adolph Hitler to the position of President of The Reichsbank— was invited to the White House (May 1933) by President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Barely a year later, in April 1934, The Economist “reported that military expenditure was forcing the Minister of Finance to look for new resources” including the privatization of the Deutsche Reichsbahn (German Railways) (quoted in Germa Bel, p. 20). The Nazi government also sold off State owned shipbuilding companies, State infrastructure and public utilities.
With a “Nazi- Liberal” slant, –no doubt with “conditionalities”- the privatization program was negotiated with Germany’s Wall Street creditors. Several major banking institutions including Deutsche Bank and Dresden Bank were also privatized.
“[T]he government of the Nazi Party sold off public ownership in several State-owned firms in the mid-1930s. These firms belonged to a wide range of sectors: steel, mining, banking, local public utilities, shipyards, ship-lines, railways, etc.

The proceeds of the privatization program were used to repay outstanding debts as well as fund Nazi Germany’s buoyant military industrial complex.
Numerous U.S. conglomerates had invested in Nazi Germany’s arms industry including Ford and General Motors:
Both General Motors and Ford insist that they bear little or no responsibility for the operations of their German subsidiaries, which controlled 70 percent of the German car market at the outbreak of war in 1939 and rapidly retooled themselves to become suppliers of war materiel to the German army.
… In certain instances, American managers of both GM and Ford went along with the conversion of their German plants to military production at a time when U.S. government documents show they were still resisting calls by the Roosevelt administration to step up military production in their plants at home. “A Famous American Family” Sleeping with the Enemy. The Role of Prescott Bush
Of significance: “A famous American family” made its fortune from the Nazis, according to John Loftus’ documented historical analysis.
Prescott Bush (grandfather of George W. Bush) was a partner in Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. , and director of the Union Banking Corporation , closely linked to the interests of German corporations, including Thyssen Stahl, an important company involved in the arms industry of the Third Reich.
The Bush family links to Nazi Germany’s war economy were first brought to light at the Nuremberg trials in the testimony of Nazi Germany’s steel magnate Fritz Thyssen.

“From 1945 until 1949 in Nuremberg, one of the lengthiest and, it now appears, most futile interrogations of a Nazi war crimes suspect began in the American Zone of Occupied Germany.
Multibillionaire steel magnate Fritz Thyssen –-the man whose steel combine was the cold heart of the Nazi war machine– talked and talked and talked to a joint US-UK interrogation team.
… What the Allied investigators never understood was that they were not asking Thyssen the right question. Thyssen did not need any foreign bank accounts because his family secretly owned an entire chain of banks.
He did not have to transfer his Nazi assets at the end of World War II, all he had to do was transfer the ownership documents – stocks, bonds, deeds and trusts–from his bank in Berlin through his bank in Holland to his American friends in New York City: Prescott Bush and Herbert Walker [father in law of Prescott Bush]. Thyssen’s partners in crime were the father and [grandfather] of a future President of the United States [George Herbert Walker Bush]. The American public was not aware of the links of the Bush family to Nazi Germany because the historical record had been carefully withheld by the mainstream media. In September 2004, however, The Guardian revealed that:
George Bush’s grandfather, the late US Senator Prescott Bush, was a director and shareholder of companies that profited from their involvement with the financial backers of Nazi Germany. …
His business dealings, which continued until his company’s assets were seized in 1942 under the Trading with the Enemy Act, has led more than 60 years later to a civil action for damages being brought in Germany against the Bush family by two former slave labourers at Auschwitz and to a hum of pre-election controversy.”

There comes a time in the history of a nation when extreme inequality turns into pillage. If economic power is concentrated so is political power, and the wealthy are able to do whatever they damn well please. They can lie, cheat, and steal because they know they won’t be held to account.
Have the super-rich now taken control of America’s political and economic systems? Some current news makes me worry.
Let’s start with the food industry, the food cartel that includes General Mills, PepsiCo, and Tyson, which has been jacking up prices non-stop since 2020. Why are food prices up 25 percent since then?
These giants blame supply chains, the rising costs of labor, and the rising prices of other inputs required to produce and distribute their products. It’s not their fault, they say. But the real culprit, upon closer examination, is stock buybacks, another word for stock manipulation. These firms are fleecing shoppers by raising prices and then using the cash to buy back their own stocks, thereby increasing the market value of each share.
Stock buybacks do not increase the value of a company, but they move money effortlessly to the largest Wall Street shareowners and to a company’s top executives, who receive most of their compensation via stock incentives.
As food prices shot up by 25 percent, “the ten largest grocery and restaurant brands have together returned or pledged to return more than $77 billion to shareholders,” reports Veronica Riccobene in her excellent article “Big Food, Big Profits, Big Lies.”
In related news, California fast-food giants have claimed that the state’s 2023 minimum wage law, which raised wages from $16 to $20 per hour, killed 10,000 jobs. A closer look, picked up by the Los Angeles Times, showed that the industry cooked the numbers by comparing employment in September with December.
But every year, September is within the peak dining out season, and in December people dine out least. When adjusted for seasonal variation or compared with the employment levels exactly one year earlier (both standard ways of measuring employment levels) the number of jobs actually increased by 7,000 after the minimum wage law was enacted.

“Report Confirms Israel Ordered ‘Hannibal Directive’ During October 7 Response”

A report published by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz on Sunday confirmed that the Israeli military implemented a secretive procedure known as the “Hannibal directive” during the response to the October 7 Hamas attack on southern Israel.
The directive allows Israeli forces to prevent Israelis from being taken hostage, even if that means putting their lives in danger. The directive had historically only applied to soldiers, but it was also used on Israeli civilians during the October 7 response.
A “very senior” source in the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed to Haaretz that the Hannibal directive was ordered on October 7. The report also cited documents and testimonies from soldiers and officers and found that the order was given multiple times throughout the day.
One of the orders came at 11:22 am, hours into the Hamas attack, which said, “Not a single vehicle can return to Gaza.” The report said that at this point in the attack, “the IDF was not aware of the extent of kidnapping along the Gaza border, but it did know that many people were involved. Thus, it was entirely clear what that message meant and what the fate of some of the kidnapped people would be.”
There has been other evidence of Israeli forces implementing the Hannibal directive on October 7, including a January report from the Israeli news site Ynet. The report said that about 70 vehicles were destroyed by the Israeli military as they were on their way back to Gaza. Many of the cars were likely carrying Israeli captives.
The Ynet report said the IDF “instructed all its fighting units to perform the Hannibal directive in practice, although it did so without stating that name explicitly.” But the Haaretz report said the Hannibal directive was explicitly ordered in some cases, including when the IDF learned someone was kidnapped near the Erez border crossing.
At 7:18 am on the morning of October 7, the IDF’s Gaza Division gave the order “Hannibal at Erez” and dispatched a Zik unmanned assault drone. The order was given again for Erez just over 20 minutes later and several other times throughout the day in response to attacks on Israeli military outposts.
In one incident at the Kibbutz Be’eri, Israeli tanks shelled a house that contained Hamas militants and Israeli hostages, killing 13 Israeli civilians, including 12-year-old twin sisters. The officer who ordered the shelling, Brig. Gen. Barak Hiram, acknowledged to The New York Times that he ordered the attack “even at the cost of civilian casualties.”
A UN report found IDF helicopter fire killed one Israeli woman while she was being abducted by Hamas from the Kibbutz Nir Oz. Haaretz previously reported that an Israeli police report found IDF helicopter fire “hit” attendees of the Nova music festival.
The “very senior” IDF source who told Haaretz about the Hannibal directive did not say who gave the initial order on October 7, but it likely came from very far up the chain of command. The Haaretz report reads: “Who did give the order? This, said the source, will perhaps be established by post-war investigations.”
According to the latest figures from Israel, a total of 1,163 Israelis were killed during the October 7 attack, including 767 civilians, 20 hostages, and 376 members of the security forces. It’s unclear how many of the casualties were due to Israeli fire. The Israeli military is expected to release a report this month that found “many casualties due to our forces firing on our forces,” which could shed more light on the scale of the IDF killings of Israelis.

Entitled Israel Tech Guard, the coalition of Israeli tech employees has pulled together what it’s termed an “army” of citizen volunteers primarily to defend Israel’s image online. The group has launched or collaborated on several projects aimed at targeting pro-Palestine content while boosting Israeli propaganda.
Israel Tech Guard comprises over 250 Israeli tech workers and was founded by entrepreneur Mor Ram-On, who worked for Israeli arms manufacturer Rafael Advanced Defense Systems; Ron Balter, a software engineer at Cybereason, a U.S. cybersecurity firm, and who served with the Israeli navy; and Lior Mizrahi, who heads the IT company Maveriks.

Like December 7, 1941 and September 11, 2001, March 11, 2020 was a day that will live in infamy because it is when the the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the existence of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This declaration led governments around the world to adopt emergency measures, including forced lockdowns, school closures, mandatory masking and social distancing and later vaccine mandates.
Eventually the pandemic was said to have been contained and emergency measures were lifted, though the same authorities who spread fear about COVID-19 are continuously warning about lingering variants and the potential for new pandemic outbreaks.
David Hughes is a professor of international relations at the University of Lincoln in the UK with a Ph.D. from Oxford who published a deeply researched and scathing article on the failings of the International Relations profession when it comes to analyzing the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Hughes’ latest book, “Covid-19” Psychological Operations, and the War For Technocracy, Volume 1 (New York: Palgrave McMillan, 2024) examines how global elites used mind control techniques, previously experimented by the CIA, to induce mass hysteria over a virus equivalent to influenza. This hysteria led people to turn on friends and family who sustained critical thought, and to willingly throw away cherished personal liberties.

“Dr. Francis Boyle Provides Affidavit: COVID 19 mRNA Nanoparticle Injections Are Biological Weapons and Weapons of Mass Destruction”

Dr. Francis Boyle, the Harvard educated law professor that drafted the 1989 Biological Weapons and Antiterrorism Act, which passed both houses of Congress unanimously, provided an affidavit stating that Covid 19 injections and mRNA nanoparticle injections violate the law he wrote. Dr. Boyle asserted that ‘COVID 19 injections’, ‘COVID 19 nanoparticle injections’, and ‘mRNA nanoparticle injections’ are biological weapons and weapons of mass destruction and violate Biological Weapons 18 USC § 175; Weapons and Firearms § 790.166 Fla. Stat. (2023).
Dr. Boyle provided this affidavit in a Florida case filed by Dr. Joseph Sansone involving an Emergency Petition for a Writ of Mandamus that seeks to compel Governor DeSantis to prohibit the distribution of ‘COVID 19 injections’, ‘COVID 19 nanoparticle injections’, and ‘mRNA nanoparticle injections’, in the state of Florida. It also seeks to compel Attorney General Ashley Moody to confiscate the vials.
The original Emergency Petition for a Writ of Mandamus was filed on March 3rd, 2024, in the Florida Supreme Court. It was then transferred to the Circuit Court in Leon County on March 20th, 2024. On April 9th, 2024, the Circuit Court dismissed the case. The case is now in the appellate court. The Appellate Brief was filed on Memorial Day, May 27th, 2024.
The pleadings assert that the distribution of ‘COVID 19 injections’, ‘COVID 19 nanoparticle injections’, and ‘mRNA nanoparticle injections’, violate – Biological Weapons 18 USC § 175; Weapons and Firearms § 790.166 Fla. Stat. (2023); Federal Crime of Treason 18 USC § 2381; Treason § 876.32 Fla. Stat. (2023); Domestic Terrorism, 18 USC § 2331; Terrorism § 775.30 Fla. Stat. (2023); Murder § 782.04 (1)(a) Fla. Stat. (2023); and Genocide 18 USC §1091; Florida Drugs and Cosmetic Act § 499.005 (2) Fla. Stat. (2023); Fraud § 817.034 Fla Stat. (2023); Accessory After the Fact § 777.03 Fla. Stat. (2023); and Florida Medical Consent Law § 766.103 Fla Stat. (2023).
Dr. Boyle is considered one of the world’s leading legal experts on biological weapons. Dr. Boyle’s affidavit adds a tremendous amount of credibility to the case, which already has a tremendous body of evidence provided in the writ of mandamus. Affidavits stating that the injections are biological and technological weapons, were also provided by med legal advisor and biotech analyst Karen Kingston, who researched the evidence that makes of the Facts of the Case section of the Mandamus, and from Ana Mihalcea, M.D., PhD. Dr. Mihalcea’s research is included in the Mandamus. Dr. Mihalcea is one of the world’s leading researchers into the effects of self replicating nanotechnology in the blood of injected as well as the effects in the blood of the uninjected as a result of shedding.

The College sought an order from the panel to take judicial notice of their version of the facts concerning the safety and effectiveness of the COVID vaccine and SARS-CoV-2, but this application was defeated.

Dr. Charles Hoffe: Hidden COVID-19 Vaccine Injuries: The Microscopic Blood Clots
Many people who are vaccinated will not be immediately aware of the injuries incurred. The latter in many cases of “adverse events” are not discernible nor are they recorded. While “big blood clots” resulting from the vaccine are revealed and reported by those vaccinated, an important study by Canada’s Dr. Charles Hoffe suggests that the mRNA vaccine generates “microscopic blood clots”.
“The blood clots we hear about which the media claim are very rare are the big blood clots which are the ones that cause strokes and show up on CT scans, MRI, etc.
The clots I’m talking about are microscopic and too small to find on any scan. They can thus only be detected using the D-dimer test.”

The U.S. government is working to re-shape the country in the image of a totalitarian state.
This has remained true over the past 50-plus years no matter which political party held office.

In the midst of the partisan furor over Project 2025, a 920-page roadmap for how to re-fashion the government to favor so-called conservative causes, both the Right and the Left have proven themselves woefully naive about the dangers posed by the power-hungry Deep State.
Yet we must never lose sight of the fact that both the Right and the Left and their various operatives are extensions of the Deep State, which continues to wage psychological warfare on the American people.
Psychological warfare, according to the Rand Corporation, “involves the planned use of propaganda and other psychological operations to influence the opinions, emotions, attitudes, and behavior of opposition groups.”
For years now, the government has been bombarding the citizenry with propaganda campaigns and psychological operations aimed at keeping us compliant, easily controlled and supportive of the government’s various efforts abroad and domestically.
The government is so confident in its Orwellian powers of manipulation that it’s taken to bragging about them. For example, in 2022, the U.S. Army’s 4th Psychological Operations Group, the branch of the military responsible for psychological warfare, released a recruiting video that touts its efforts to pull the strings, turn everything they touch into a weapon, be everywhere, deceive, persuade, change, influence, and inspire.
“Have you ever wondered who’s pulling the strings?” the psyops video posits. “Anything we touch is a weapon. We can deceive, persuade, change, influence, inspire. We come in many forms. We are everywhere.”
This is the danger that lurks in plain sight.

In my previous article, Why you should never believe your eyes, we discussed new technologies that make the creation of literal “fake news” more possible than ever. In this follow up we’re going to discuss the potential benefits of faking the news vs creating the news.
A false flag operation is generally defined as ”an act committed with the intent of disguising the actual source of responsibility and pinning blame on another party”
The phrase originates in naval warfare, when ships would literally fly a flag of another nation’s navy.
Historically speaking, they are covert military operations carried out with the aim of creating a cassus belli, either initiating, justifying or perpetuating a war.
The attack is very real, only the flag is false.
But recent years have seen the rise of a new idea – the false false flag. That is to say – entirely fake “events” with only the barest relationship to objective reality. Blanks and crisis actors, fake victims and fake shooters.
This concept has been the subject of discussion recently, with the civil suit against Alex Jones for calling Sandy Hook a “hoax” and the on-going trial of journalist Richard D Hall in the UK for suggesting the Manchester Arena bombing was fake. Similar suggestions have been raised about the Boston bombing of 2013 as well. Others, including Riley Waggaman, have raised questions about the recent “terrorist attack” in Moscow too.
Now, I’m not definitively claiming any or all of those events were faked – though of course they may have been. What I’m pointing up is the shift in discussion.
But then, we don’t need to look far for the greatest provably “fake event” in recent times: “Covid”, which was purely a construction of media hype and corrupt science creating an entirely fake pandemic.
Once you’ve absorbed all the facts of the case, that’s the only interpretation that stands up to scrutiny.
In fact it was such a vast infestation of fakery it spawned mini-fakes. It wasn’t so much a fake event as a flock of fakes of varying sizes.
Covid alone proves that the powers-that-be certainly do engage in staged or faked events. And, as highlighted in the first part of this series, it’s been known for decades that news reports are regularly faked, on both the small and large scale.
Yet, still, the question that gets asked whenever the possibility of fakery is invoked is “why?”
Why would a state apparatus with the power to really do something, opt to only pretend to do it?

This is a situation that can bring a rebirth of humanity, a multipolar world out from under the deadly weight of imperial rules enforced by a uni-polar minority claiming a form of master race status while reducing the majority to peonage for most while a relative handful live in luxury and a large group of its servants enjoy physical if not mental comfort. But it can lead to an immediate, complete and total destruction of the human race in a nuclear holocaust provoked by western leadership that even brain transplants might not help, or a longer range breakdown of humanity’s support system of origin: nature itself.
The present crisis brought on by Israel’s long theft and domination of Palestine to supposedly atone for the dreadful German assault on European Jews by totally demolishing Palestinian society that had absolutely nothing to do with past euro-Jewish suffering which has seen – for the first time – a bloody retaliatory assault on Israeli citizenry such as has been performed on Palestinians since the birth of a stolen nation. This has led to the most blatant attack not only on the bodies of the people in the region but on the consciousness of those who have been kept blessedly ignorant of material conditions and are now having their minds raped by western propaganda which in the present labels everything and anything as fascist or communist or racist for simply demanding equality among all and ending the supremacy of some of the most morally degenerate leaders in all history.
While U.S. taxpayers are lulled into a belief that a bastardized form of market democracy in which those with the greatest buying power rule awards us some form of superiority over other humans, we are paying billions to kill Russians in alleged defense of the Ukraine and billions more to sustain Israeli apartheid rule in Palestine. Greater numbers of citizens than ever before, though still a minority in America, are protesting the bastardization of language, politics and economics that can call mass murder by anything but its name. Thus we have “genocide” and “war crime” label-synonyms attached to the reality of mass murder, long a profit-making endeavor for imperial capitalist America, which covers its crimes with occasional contributions to the well being of suffering children after having murdered their parents.
Authority and its subjects struggle to attempt balance between mass murder and mass mind control when both must be overcome to bring about any hope for the full flowering of humanity and the achievement of peace, social justice and better lives for all and not just favored-by- themselves minorities which trust in biblical fable and mass murderous military power to act as humans supposedly chosen by deities to reign over all of nature.
Race is only one of the lies leading to separation of humans who originated in primitive communistic tribes of hunter-gatherers who shared and cooperated in order to survive, which is what we must relearn in order to have a future. When the hunt was successful all shared in the meat and when not they shared what was gathered. After millennia we advanced (?) to a system which transformed earth into real estate while bringing about wonderful material reality for some but only while destroying lives and other aspects of nature for many more. Just as slavery was great for many but dreadful for most, present day capitalism has advanced the life styles of millions but only by reducing billions to poverty, bigotry, social injustice and worse.
The present explosion in Israel with Palestinians dying by margins of ten to one after they murdered Israelis in number for the first time has seen a reaction globally and especially in America of opposition carefully stated as being against all violence but especially reacting to the bigoted savagery Palestinians have been forced to endure since 1948 when they lost their homeland and lives due to European savagery which they had nothing to do with by any stretch of idiocy or bigotry.

Ahmed Abbes and Ivar Ekeland wrote in The New Arab that, “by dint of its participation in the prison-like containment and control of occupied territories and the repeated punitive operations within them, [Technion] could be guilty of complicity in war crimes before a court of justice.”
By virtue of its partnership with Technion, Cornell could also be considered guilty of complicity in war crimes.

The Ukrainian oligarchs, amid the current deteriorating situation, have begun to sell Ukrainian assets, including fertile lands, in order to compensate for possible financial losses caused by the expansion of the combat zone and the loss of their territories. This is evidenced by the contacts of the top managers of the well-known NCH investment fund with major Middle Eastern businessmen on the issue of organizing the illegal export of more than 150 thousand tons of black soil – highly fertile soil typical of the Eurasian steppes – from the territory of Ukraine.
It is no secret that today, thanks to the efforts of Vladimir Zelensky, 17 million hectares of Ukrainian black soil already belong to the Western companies Monsanto, DuPont and Cargill. The remaining approximately 23 million hectares are formally in the process of being sold through the Development Fund of Ukraine, President Zelensky himself and other figures.
Of course, all these plans strongly depend on the military development of the conflict. For the oligarchs, there is still hope that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will hold their positions at the front while their bosses sell off the remaining lands… It is not by chance that Ukraine’s Western “allies” are shouting so painfully about the need for “victory” – with “victory”, in the language of the oligarchs, being only the time it takes to sell Ukraine’s remaining fertile lands.
It must also be remembered that Vladimir Zelensky has already concluded an agreement with BlackRock, the largest global asset management company, whose funds exceed the combined GDP of Germany and France. BlackRock is already managing the assets of the entire Ukraine: industry, real estate, land and subsoil – all of which are no longer Ukrainian. Furthermore, BlackRock will also control the funds from foreign loans to the Ukrainian treasury. The company is gradually becoming the “owner” of Ukraine – only paying a few crumbs to Zelensky and his elected oligarchy.
Many in the West believe that the so-called “Ukrainian State” may default by the end of the year. That is why the “Ukrainian Development Fund” was created, where, as if by chance, a certain Natalya Yaresko (a US citizen), Valeria Gontareva and billionaire Pinchuk were involved on the Ukrainian side.
Now the deceived Ukrainian people are fighting to the death for other people’s property, mistakenly considering it their own. They are losing hundreds of thousands of lives in battles and counteroffensives. These people do not yet know that Ukraine has already been sold out entirely.
At the same time, in the areas of Ukraine that are shrinking every day, the fact that at the June G7 meeting it was decided to issue Ukraine another tranche of $50 billion caused rejoicing. In fact, the process of allocating money was accompanied by a scandal: Ukrainian Finance Minister Sergey Marchenko, full of typical Ukrainian arrogance, said that Kiev had put forward its own conditions for receiving this money:
“We had several conditions. We must receive money this year, the money must be unconditional. And this money must be used for any purposes and expenses that Ukraine considers necessary.”
This reaction of the sponsors puts some Ukrainians in a good mood. They have probably already put the Americans and Europeans in eternal turmoil and think that the hundreds of billions of loans issued will not be repaid – just as they refused to repay the billion-dollar loan issued to them by Russia in 2013. However, this trick will not work on Western financial sharks – on the security of their dollars and euros, they have already received the right to use Ukrainian black soil and minerals.
So the most interesting things are just beginning for Ukraine. Kiev, which has voluntarily surrendered itself to be plundered by the descendants of the owners, will face the fate of Africa modeled on the 17th century. A bleak future is coming – being Russia now, not a threat, but the only hope.

The far-right party experienced a significant loss in the French election over the weekend, and officials in both the Israeli and French diplomatic corps are criticizing the conduct of Diaspora Affairs Minister Amichai Chikli during the French election campaign. Ever since French President Macron called a Snap Election, minister Chikli was publicly and vocally in support of Marie Le Pen and her far-right National Rally Party, saying that Le Pen as president would be “excellent for Israel” and adding that Netanyahu was of the same opinion.
However, when it became clear on Sunday that an alliance of left-wing parties had been victorious, Chikli posted on X that the leader of the New Popular Front, Jean-Luc Melenchon, was “the French version of Jeremy Corby, an Israel Hater in heart and soul who refused to condemn the events of October 7 and to call Hamas a terrorist organization.”
As one can imagine, this conduct has damaged Franco/Israeli relations, with one Israeli official characterizing the Diaspora Affairs Minister’s behavior as a “diplomatic bomb.” They took this misstep seriously enough to prompt a response from Foreign Minister Israel Katz that “Israel does not intervene in elections in France and respects French democracy – just as we expect other countries to respect Israeli democracy.”
This drama, far less scandalous than other diplomatic gaffes surrounding the Israel/Gaza war, is significant nevertheless in that the recognition of Palestinian Statehood was a central promise of the New Popular Front during their campaign. That political party will now be a vocal force within the French Parliament if it manages to stay united and will further increase the socio-cultural normalization of the idea of Palestinian Statehood throughout Europe.
France is commonly referred to as one of the Big Four of Western Europe, along with Italy, Germany and the UK – the major European powers and the only EU countries individually represented as full members of the G7, the G8, and the G20. Therefore, Israel’s anxiety over losing French support is acute and could signal a future cascade failure in unilateral European support for its military action in Gaza and Southern Lebanon.

Early Signs of the Failure of American Global Power?
In his years in power, Joe Biden and his top foreign policy officials have come up with a distinctly more aggressive and militarized approach to a rising China and, in particular, its claims to areas of the South China Sea or the island of Taiwan. As an old Cold Warrior who lived through the era of “containing” Soviet power, the president has taken a strikingly similar approach toward China, even if he’s repeatedly denied that it’s a policy of “containment.”
Typically, American Green Berets have recently been stationed on the Taiwanese island of Kinmen, just a few miles off the coast of the People’s Republic (though the head of the United States Indo-Pacific Command insists that it’s not a permanent change). Four new military posts are also being established in the Philippines, all of them strategically closer to China than the other U.S. bases there. Meanwhile, last year the U.S. Marines opened their first new base in 70 years on the Pacific island of Guam as a “strategic hub” for the region, even as the American military command in Japan was also being strengthened.
(Imagine for a moment, how this country would react if China were challenging America’s “aggressive” behavior by establishing military bases throughout, say, the Caribbean or off the Mexican coast. Truly beyond belief, right?)

A coalition of aid agencies on Friday implored the international community to take concrete, punitive action against the Israeli government and settlers after the number of settler attacks in the occupied West Bank since October 7 surpassed 1,000.
The Association of International Development Agencies (AIDA), a group of international organizations working in the occupied Palestinian territories, said in a statement that the rate of settler attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank has doubled since the same time last year, from an average of two per day to four.
“At least 10 people, including two children, have been killed during these attacks, and at least 234 have been injured, including 20 children. Since 7 October, 1,260 people, including 600 children, have been forcibly displaced amid settler violence and movement restrictions. The displaced households are from 20 herding and Bedouin communities throughout Area C of the West Bank. As one survivor of settler violence explained, ‘No place is safe here.'”
“Settler violence is premeditated and orchestrated by organized groups from known outposts and settlements, with the support of Israel’s government, including local and regional settlement councils,” the group added, noting the limited sanctions that the United States and the European Union have imposed on individual settlers “have failed to reduce the frequency of attacks.”
“While a few individuals have been detained, no civilian or soldier has been prosecuted in connection with any of these 1,000 attacks,” AIDA said. “Reports indicate that some illegal outpost farms operated by sanctioned settlers—many of whom have been reported to be at the center of multiple violent incidents—have received hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of material support from the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Settlements, the Settlement Administration in the Ministry of Defense, and through local and regional settlement councils.”

“Israeli Campaign Against Gaza May Kill 186,000 or More — 8% of Population: The Lancet”

Ann Arbor (Informed Comment) – Rasha Khatib, Martin McKee and Salim Yusuf, The Lancet calculate that 186,000 or more people may be killed* by the Israeli total war on Gaza, about 8% of the population.
If you do not see this study reported on your cable “news” channel, you may conclude that the corporation that owns it is complicit in genocide.
One of the paper’s authors, Martin McKee, “is a member of the editorial board of the Israel Journal of Health Policy Research and of the International Advisory Committee of the Israel National Institute for Health Policy Research.” Although McKee says he is writing solely in a personal capacity, I think we may conclude that some members of the professional Israeli public health community have their hair on fire about the prosecution of the Gaza War.
The Gaza Ministry of Health now says that over 38,000 Palestinians have been killed by the Israelis. As The Lancet notes, the World Health Organization and even the Israeli intelligence services accept these figures. Since the Israeli Air Force has dropped as many as five hundred two-thousand-pound bombs and by now has destroyed or damaged a majority of the buildings in the Gaza Strip, it is likely that at least 10,000 uncounted dead are under the rubble.
The 38,000 dead are the result of what is called direct gathering of the figures. Initially the dead were identified and reported by hospitals. As Israel has reduced the ability of hospitals to function by its attacks on them, this direct reporting has continued, but hospitals began being unable in some cases to send along identification, though they could confirm the reception of the corpses. Some dishonest observers suggested that this inability to know the names of the dead somehow made the numbers less reliable, but the World Health Organization refuted this allegation. The dead are in makeshift morgues still gradually being identified.
Indirect counting of the dead attempts to calculate the missing people using statistical methods. Sometimes public health experts have attempted to interview people to collect data on dead family members and friends, and then projected totals based on these surveys. That method is not available in Gaza, where the Israeli authorities will not permit journalists and other observers, and where it is dangerous to be because there are no real safe zones, with those regions declared safe zones often having been bombed.
Muhammad Jawad et al., in a survey of 118 unique armed conflicts affecting 102 countries from 1990 to 2017 found that they produced an average of 19.2 battle-related deaths per 100,000 population (54.7 for those in war as opposed to minor conflict). There were in addition an average of 311 excess deaths per 100,000 population from causes other than being immediately killed by a bomb or bullet. So, 16 civilians died of starvation, communicable, maternal, neonatal, and nutritional diseases and injuries, for every direct death in combat.
And this seems important, in the Jawad et al. study: “Effect estimates were disproportionately larger for children aged under 5 years, regardless of the cause of death.” Gaza had some 350,000 children under 5. UNICEF reported in May, “9 out of 10 children under 5 in Gaza are suffering from one or more infectious diseases. Levels of acute watery diarrhea are 20 times higher than typical.” Already last March, 1 in 3 children under 2 were acutely malnourished, a condition that produces permanent cognitive and emotional damage.
The Lancet authors used a much smaller multiplier, of four indirect deaths for each direct death. Based on the death toll known when the paper was written, they arrived at 186,000 dead for this war over the coming months. They admit that the estimate of four indirect deaths for every direct one is conservative, so the number could be substantially greater.

More than 20,000 Palestinian children are missing in Gaza as a result of Israel's assault on the enclave, either lost, disappeared, detained, buried under rubble or in mass graves.
Save the Children said that, while the ongoing conflict made verifying figures difficult, it estimated that at least 17,000 children are believed to be unaccompanied and separated while some 4,000 children are likely under the rubble.
A further number are suspected to be buried in mass graves scattered across the Gaza Strip.
It said its child protection teams had been put under further strain as a result of Israel's operation in Rafah and that more families and communities were being separated from their children as a result.
"Every day we find more unaccompanied children, and every day it is harder to support them. We work through partners to identify separated and unaccompanied children and trace their families, but there are no safe facilities for them - there is no safe place in Gaza," a Save the Children child protection specialist in Gaza said in a statement.
"Neighbours and extended family members who have taken in lone children are struggling to meet their basic needs, such as shelter, food, and water. Many are with strangers - or completely alone - increasing the risk of violence, abuse, exploitation and neglect."
The Palestinan health ministry on Sunday said that a total of 37,598 people had been killed since 7 October, with at least 14,000 of them children.

I saw where the Biden administration is “helping” Americans to qualify for home mortgage loans by deleting medical-related debt from credit reports. In other words, people still have to pay their medical debts; the fact that they have medical debts will just be masked so that they can qualify for more debt in the form of a home mortgage loan. If that doesn’t scream Biden compromise, I don’t know what does.
It’s so sad and disheartening how quickly Aaron Bushnell’s sacrificial suicide to protest genocide in Gaza has been dismissed and forgotten by the corporate-owned media in America.

“To say that Dostoevsky's Brothers Karamazov is an ambitious novel is to say very little.
“The book features Christ, and devil, and life and death, and all sorts of philosophical questions concerning evil, guilt, love and so on.
“Yet, at the bottom of it, it is the story of the legal failure. The guy is wrongly accused for killing his father and then send to Siberia for it.
“From that perspective, the novel is incredibly relevant. Throughout the novel, we read about Dmitry Karamazov, his failures, triumphs, goals, ideals. We know how complex and contradictory his life is. Yet, when he ends up being tried for the murder that he didn't commit, we end up with simplistic and wrong headed denouement.
“Liberal defense lawyer does not care whether Dmitry is guilty or not. He delivers his liberal speeches about corrupt Russia, and its bad authorities, claiming that whacking one such authority figure -- Dmitry's father --is not really a crime.
“Conservative prosecutor argues to another extreme: everyone who even says something bad about an authority figure should go to jail.
“The jurors -- mostly peasants -- are totally dumbfounded by these arguments. They lose the vision of the concrete person, Dmitry, and instead participate in the political debate between a conservative and the liberal. Being conservative by nature, the jurors take the prosecutor side. End of story. Innocent man goes to jail.
“Isn't today's political situation in the west similar? You bet it is.
“We have elections, during which left and right exchange their political cliches blaming each other in all sort of imaginary crimes.
“We have the actual countries -- which similar to Dmitry -- are being misread, misunderstood, and condemned.
“And we have the public -- the jurors -- who being confused by the stupid political rhetoric, keeps on voting, that is, making the same judgment mistakes, agreeing with this or that political argument, while condemning their innocent countries to further destruction.
“Do you really think that US, England, France, Germany or Italy -- benefiting from idiotic accusations that the conservatives and progressives, right and left hurl at each other?
“And each time, as Dostoevsky puts it -- "peasants stood for themselves." Confused by arguments, the population makes uninformed choices based on their natural inclinations or prejudices. French leaning toward the left, Brits and Americans toward the right. But the truth -- the actual state of the affairs in their countries -- continues to be ignored. Even worse, continues to be sentenced to destruction. While the politicians continue to practice their pseudo profound rhetoric--bowing to the public which applauds them for their successfully delivered barbs.

Someone put it to me, around a year ago, that maybe I should change my life style and try to get my feet on the ground. She said, “you know, if you really want it, there is a way to get from purgatory to paradise in this life.”
My reaction was: Surely not. No way! Purgatory is great – so much going on. I’d be bored stiff in paradise.
Get a new message on my tablet every few minutes. Got six social media accounts. So many conversations to check into and add my bit too. Just got an earbud so I don’t miss any communications. Wow – how things have moved on.
AP’s are great. Life without AP’s seems unthinkable now. Receptions great too these days. Remember poor signals when travelling? Thing of the past, with a few exceptions. And now Elon is putting all those satellites up, so even in the Sahara desert it will be possible to tune in. Sat Nav our way to the moon…
I text a lot. Love the personal thing – cool to have this sort of privacy. Can’t imagine life without texting. OK, I’m a bit of an info junkie. Like to stay online with what’s going on. Even when it’s scary. Get a kind of thrill knowing I’m alright; you know, comfortable, out of danger.
It’s the convenience of the tech that really does it for me. I must spend three to four hours on my smart phone every day and probably another two on the lap top. You see, it’s my reality. It’s my world – and for lots of my mates too. It’s cool. You can add on Netflicks and some favourite TV shows in the evening as well.
Wi-Fi is brilliant. Never bother with land lines any more. OK – maybe it’s zapping me more than is good, but who cares? Life’s too short. Like the stuff you get ready prepared and just stick in the microwave. Who needs to bother with cooking? Cooking’s a pain, isn’t it?
Eat a lot raw these days – like vegan ‘saving the planet’ stuff.
Global warming is scary, don’t you think? Hope it doesn’t happen in my life time. No thanks!
Decided I’m going to get tattooed. There’s a dark side of me that wants to be expressed – my mates have this too. Going for a skull and cross bones on the back of my neck – all black. That says it about pretty much all of life, doesn’t it. I mean life sucks. No point in pretending otherwise.
I’ve found a way of isolating myself from most of it. I mean, my virtual world saves my life.
I must confess to being a bit jealous of trans people. Not sure I have the guts to go for it. – but wow – that really is a statement; a cool expression of personal freedom. If you don’t feel like male or female fits your personality, then get something that does!
OK, it’s a ‘me, me’ world, but that’s all there is in the end.
Can’t get into this god stuff. If there was a god the world wouldn’t be so fucked-up, would it?
Some of my mates tried the spiritual thing. But the teacher said if you want to do it properly you have to be disciplined. Not so much meat, coffee, sugar, booze, TV and junk foods.
Can’t manage that – and anyway why try to get closer to something that doesn’t exist – some abstract power?
If there is such a thing, good luck, I’m not going to try and stop anyone doing what they want – no way.

Having long kept all its eyes wide shut to “our” president’s spectacular debility—despite his triple-pratfalls, stunned expression, physical and verbal wanderings, frequent “inappropriate touching” and (pardon me for writing this) loud public farts—“our free press” is now suddenly fixated on the fact that he’s too old to stand for re-election, as if (a) this hasn’t long been obvious to anyone not crazed by Trump Derangement Syndrome, and as if (b) “Biden” was elected in the first place.
Of course, the reason for this sudden, total shift from deference to contempt was that (literally) unspeakable “debate” two weeks ago (with “Biden” barely capable of speech, while Trump was barely capable of shutting up) and the swift grim verdict by the audience. That face-off between rank senility and aging juvenility was, to put it mildly, no barrel of laughs, in part because there was no audience in the room, no doubt so that no MAGA-heads would be there to pump Trump up even more, reminding everybody of his greater popularity. That eerie absence of the usual two rival mobs—an unnatural quiet reminiscent of Biden/Harris’s locked-down inauguration—deprived us of the evening’s only possible guffaws, as it (maybe) would have been a hoot to listen to the anxious hush of all those Democrats, hand-picked for their partisan intensity (as if some able bio-engineer had cloned Joe Scarborough for the occasion), faced with the impossibility of mustering anything but gloom at the macabre sight of “Joe Biden” struggling to come off as “presidential,” or alive.
