Dear Colleagues and Friends of CEIMSA,
Ideologies are constructed to explain phenomena and control perceptions. Take for example the variants of monotheism, most notably Judaic, Christian, and Islamic sects. Over many centuries scholars have contributed to the interpretations of such idealist constructions, seeking to build a consensus around selected ideas that were intended to unite people to think and to behave in line with principles which they deemed to be true or at least useful. Such complicity was esteemed to be a display of solidarity with a higher ideal --not necessarily correlated with material self-interest, nor even with interests in real people. Such received ideas constitute the divorce of behavior from objective self-interest and can be deemed as an ontological error, where people are united to act unconsciously often in opposition to their real interests in a determined effort to conform to the expectations they have adopted and made their own, but which offer them no more than a false sense of belonging to something larger than their own specific existence. Such ideological constructs have often morphed into systems of dogmatic beliefs, controlled by an apparatus exclusively in the service of elitist interests which wheeled, from time to time, an almost magnetic force over a mass perception of reality.
Ideological associations begin to become dogmatic beliefs when the hypnotic effect starts to weaken and the masses are left in doubt about elitist intentions. The epistemological crisis which unfolds inspires the elitists to endorse a guiding intervention --sometimes a violent intervention-- to shore up their waning power over the masses and win the masses complicity once again.
Dogma aims to blind the indoctrinated so that they may more readily follow their elitist masters. Ideology attempts to orient the masses to voluntarily follow a “collective will” (defined by a self-appointed circle of elitists). The scientific method is the basis of true democratic dialogue, free of the hypnotic effect of fear and false promises. Thus by an oscillation between despotism and tyranny the masses are dumded down through fear and false hopes, to secures the top-down power of an elitist leadership and to mask their real self-interests.
Eventually the center cannot hold, the masses are increasingly discontent and true self-interests emerge to a conscious level. At this point the scientific method can be reintroduced, and dialogue among the liberated people rejuvenated: people return to the process of thinking according to their genuine self-interests, with hypothesis and verification and an ever richer understanding of the historical context in which to frame their thinking. At some point the deductive method of thought is essential to orient inductive reasoning by casting off the burden of misunderstood past events in order to better appropriate that which is needed for a more fulfilling life. This can only be done democratically, with mutual respect.
The 20+ items below offer CEIMSA readers the opportunity to confront current dogmas, various ideological speculations, and occasional scientific analyses that are now circulating in the Anglophone social media. These distortions, approximations and detailed cause-and-effect analyses should serve as a heuristic guide for formulating new relevant questions and eventually for taking collective democratic action.

This is an edited version of the second of two lectures the author gave recently on “Defending the Humanity of Humanity.” He spoke Oct. 10 at Mut zur Ethik, a twice-yearly conference held in Sirnach, near Zurich. His first lecture can be read here.
The barbarities of Zionist Israel force fundamental questions upon us: Where is our humanity as the Israelis prosecute their terror campaigns before us daily? What shall we do as we find ourselves powerless to react meaningfully because, as the West Asia crisis has suddenly forced us to realize, our institutions have failed us?
Now many of us recognize the need to defend our humanity — the humanity of humanity, as I think of it.
I previously addressed this question as it relates to public space and argued that it is time to look again at multilateral institutions, the United Nations chief among them, with a view to reviving them after a long period during which they have been discounted and devalued.
Now I want to turn the questions just posed in another direction and suggest we consider the matter from a personal, individual perspective.
What must each of us do, in the privacy, so to say, of our consciences, our thoughts, our surmises and judgments, to take up the work of defending humanity’s humanity? It is at bottom a psychological question. It is a matter, very simply, of “changing our minds.”
We must begin, it seems to me by recognizing who we think we are. Note right away: I speak not of who we are but who we think we are, who we assume ourselves to be.
We live in “the Western world,” as it is called, and it follows naturally we are Westerners. Who can argue with this? To be Westerners is absolutely integral to our identity, I think I can say without further explanation.
This has been so for many centuries. I take my date in this connection to be 1498, when Vasco da Gama set foot along the Malabar Coast, in southern India, making himself the first modern Westerner to arrive in the non–West.
And then it follows easily enough that when we declare what we are we declare what we are not. I have just suggested the result: The world is divided between Westerners and non–Westerners. This division, fundamental as it is to how we think, is by and large the West’s doing. Let us take care to note this.
This line between West and non–West is very old, going back much earlier than 1498. It dates at least to the 5th century B.C., when Herodotus recorded the Persian Wars in his famous Histories. And it is remarkable how intact this line between West and East comes down to us.
The Biden regime and the rest of the West think of it today as the line dividing democracies and autocracies. Cast the Israel–Palestine question in a larger context and you find that, whatever else it is, it is another confrontation between West and non–West.

In an impassioned speech before the U.S. Congress in June, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated, “like December 7, 1941, and September 11, 2001, October 7 is a date that will forever live in infamy.”
In the official version touted by Netanyahu, Hamas fighters on October 7 breached the Israeli security wall and attacked the Tribe of Nova music festival and surrounding kibbutzim, killing 1,139 Israelis, including 815 civilians. Israel responded by launching an all-out war.
People skeptical of the official narrative questioned how Hamas could have breached Israel’s security wall when it was among the most heavily guarded in the world and connected to sensors.

On January 1, 2020, “the Chinese health authorities closed the Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market in Wuhan following Western media reports claiming that wild animals sold there may have been the source of the virus.
As of early January 2020, it was the object of extensive media coverage and an unfolding Worldwide fear campaign. Media disinformation 24/7 went into high gear.
The Chinese authorities (allegedly) “identified a new type of virus” on January 7, 2020, using the RT-PCR test. No specific details were provided regarding the process of isolation of the virus.

“Every single person in America — actually in the world — needs to watch this film,” journalist Kim Iversen said about Dr. Aseem Malhotra’s new documentary, “First Do No Pharm.” “It’s jaw-dropping.”
The film explains “how we ended up with this corrupted medical system that is just keeping people sick, rather than actually helping people stay healthy or get healthy,” she said.
At the start of her interview with Malhotra on a recent episode of “The Kim Iversen Show,” Iversen played a series of clips from the film that revealed shocking facts about the industry.
For example, between 2003-2016, fines imposed on pharmaceutical companies for fraud or other illegal activities amounted to $33 billion.
Malhotra told Iversen the film is being censored and suppressed by Meta, Facebook’s parent company. He said almost anything he posts is shadowbanned, and major celebrities who came to the film’s U.K. opening couldn’t post about it on social media without their posts being taken down.
An insider at Meta told him the censorship has nothing to do with so-called fact-checking. “She said anything that interferes with their corporate partners or sponsors will be flagged and shadowbanned,” he said. It is common knowledge that there are links between Pharma and Meta.
Iversen noted that critiquing Big Pharma used to be thought of as a left-wing position — promoted by politicians like Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) — but since the COVID-19 pandemic was announced, the media treats criticism of Pharma companies as a “right-wing conspiracy theory” and discounts it.
“It just goes to show how easily our brains are manipulated just for political tribalism,” she said.
Malhotra agreed, adding that both Democrats and Republicans have been captured by major corporations. “Bernie Sanders is apparently the fourth largest recipient in Congress of Big Pharma money,” he added.

“1 in 6 Germans Injured by COVID Shot + DNA Fragments in Gardasil HPV Vaccine”

One in 6 respondents to a survey in Germany reported experiencing side effects after receiving a COVID-19 shot, German newspaper Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung reported.
The survey, conducted by Germany’s Forsa Institute on behalf of the newspaper and the online magazine “Multipolar,” polled 1,002 people between Oct. 7-8.
According to The Gateway Pundit, “A significant 17 percent of respondents openly stated they did not ‘tolerate the COVID vaccination well overall.’”
Commenting on the 1 in 6 statistic, Steve Kirsch, founder of the Vaccine Safety Research Foundation, told The Defender, “That is not a safe vaccine. I mean, you should be calling up these guys who are promoting the vaccine and ask them, with 1 in 6 people reporting side effects, how that’s a safe vaccine?”
According to the survey, 73% of respondents did not report adverse reactions. An additional 10% of respondents reported not getting the COVID-19 vaccine.
Christof Plothe, D.O., a member of the World Council for Health’s steering committee, said the survey “also asked whether the respondents ‘personally knew’ someone who experienced severe side effects after the mRNA treatment. The number is also explosive: 35% answered ‘yes.’”
Harald Walach, Ph.D., founder and director of the Change Health Science Institute in Germany and professional research fellow at Kazimieras Simonavicius University in Lithuania, told The Defender the survey results likely don’t show the full extent of adverse events following COVID-19 vaccination.
“Whether people or doctors attribute causality of the symptoms to the vaccination depends on their attitude,” Walach said. “So it might be the case that side effects that start later, say six months later, such as an autoimmune disease, will not easily be attributed to the vaccination, even though it might be.”
Plothe noted there are “hardly any recognized vaccination injuries, and people are still told by their doctor that their changes in health are not gene therapy-related. “But here, 17% complained of adverse side effects, according to the survey, so 11 million Germans could have experienced side effects,” Plothe said.
“The actual number, including the long-term results, is expected to be even higher,” Plothe added.

“Operation Warp Speed Is Using a CIA-Linked Contractor to Keep COVID-19 Vaccine Contracts Secret”

$6 billion in COVID-19 vaccine contracts awarded by Operation Warp Speed have been doled out by a secretive government contractor with deep ties to the CIA and DHS, escaping regulatory scrutiny and beyond the reach of FOIA requests.
Last Tuesday, while most Americans were distracted by the first U.S. presidential debate, NPR quietly reported that the U.S. government’s “Operation Warp Speed,” a public-private partnership launched by the Trump administration to rapidly develop and distribute a COVID-19 vaccine, had taken the unusual step of awarding contracts to vaccine companies, not directly, but through a secretive defense contractor.
Though NPR named the defense contractor – South Carolina-based Advanced Technology International (ATI) – they declined to explore the company’s deep ties to the CIA, DHS, and the Department of Defense and how ATI is helping to lead those agencies’ efforts to militarize healthcare and create an all-encompassing surveillance Panopticon that not only monitors the world around us, but our physiology, as well.
The “secret” vaccine contracts awarded through ATI as part of Warp Speed total approximately $6 billion, accounting for the majority of Operation Warp Speed’s $10 billion budget. Both Paul Mango, HHS’ Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy, and Robert Kadlec, HHS’ Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR), personally signed off on the contracts.
Operation Warp Speed, which officially involves the combined efforts of HHS and the military to deliver over 300 million of COVID-19 vaccines to Americans by next January, is a highly secretive program dominated by military personnel, most of whom have no experience in healthcare or vaccine production. The Trump administration has often compared Warp Speed to the Manhattan Project, which produced the atomic bomb.
Several very unsettling revelations about the true nature and scope of Warp Speed, including the out-sized role of ATI, began to emerge starting last Monday. Yet most of this new information went largely uncovered by most U.S. news outlets due to the media frenzy surrounding the first presidential debate and the subsequent news that President Trump and several other politicians and White House officials had tested positive for COVID-19.
NPR noted that the decision to use a non-government intermediary like ATI to issue the coronavirus vaccine contracts, as opposed to the government itself directly awarding those contracts, allows Operation Warp Speed to “bypass the regulatory oversight and transparency of traditional federal contracting mechanisms.” This means that, among other things, the vaccine contracts awarded under Operation Warp Speed are unlikely to be publicly released in the near future, if ever.

“Are Medical Errors On the Rise Due To Cognitive Impacts Of The mRNA Vaccine?”

In a three day span, I was told by four different patients of errors made by both physicians and nurses that harmed them, ranging from the catastrophic to the concerning.
As the title of this post reflects, I recently developed a growing concern that health care providers are “not as sharp” as they used to be and, as you will learn from the cases I will present below, that may be putting it mildly.
Why would I hypothesize about a sudden deterioration in the cognitive and technical abilities of health care providers? Couple of reasons;
- The most mRNA vaccinated sub-population in the United States are almost certainly our health care providers. They make up the entire class of employees mandated by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the agency that governs the two federal/state health insurance plans for the elderly and poor. Recall that 25 states fought back against CMS by issuing injunctions against the mandate until the Supreme Court granted CMS the authority to do so. Which meant that all CMS facility employees (every hospital, nursing home, and home health agency employee in the country) had to get the mRNA vaccine otherwise they would not be eligible for reimbursement for their services from those entities. That does not make for a valuable employee.
- The mRNA “vaccine,” like Covid itself, causes immense amounts of cognitive dysfunction, i.e. “brain fog” and worse. In my Leading Edge Clinic specialty practice where we treat Long Covid/Long Vax (70% are Long Vax) of the almost 1500 chronically ill patients we have encountered, the vast majority report new-onset cognitive dysfunction.
The real tragedy is that the mandate from CMS specified that “accommodations” (i.e. exemptions) should be offerred by the involved health care facilities, however, as we well know, in the vast majority of facilities, exemptions were nearly impossible to obtain. Numerous lawsuits are ongoing to address the horrific negative consequences of the mass firings that resulted. The bright side is that I am hearing from my Covid litigation experts that these cases are now being regularly won .
However, the behavior of the many corporate health systems around the country effectively “weeded out” all unvaccinated employees. Although a number of centers apparently now welcome back their former unvaccinated employees, it appears that not many as hoped wanted to return to a former employer that treated them that way. Thus, I maintain that the vast majority of those currently working in the system are vaccinated, and heavily vaccinated at that.
So, if they are so heavily vaccinated, what is the probability that they are suffering cognitive issues? Well, from my recent (surprisingly popular) post about the goings on at Ohio State Medical Center, apparently numerous docs were retiring or going out on disability due to “neurological issues.”

What do we know about Palestine’s Islamic Resistance Movement, commonly known as Hamas? I read independent media every day, but even so, a year after Al-Aqsa Flood and the onset of the Gaza genocide, I found I knew very little. Only that:
· They are a Palestinian nationalist movement;
· The Palestinian people shocked the West by electing them in 2006;
· Their political wing is the government in Gaza, but not the West Bank;
· On October 7, 2023, their military wing and its allies launched Al-Aqsa Flood, one battle in the 76-year war that began with the Nakba, the mass displacement and dispossession of Palestinians after Israel declared itself a state;
· Israel assassinated their lead negotiator in Tehran;
· They are part of what’s called “the Axis of Resistance,” which includes Iran, Hizbullah in Lebanon, the Ansar Allah (Houthis) in Yemen, and others in Syria and Iraq; and
· Their military wing, the Qassam Brigades, has not succumbed to Israel after more than a year’s fighting.
In short, I knew very little
before reading Understanding Hamas and Why That Matters, a new title
from OR Books. I knew nothing of Hamas’s history or ideology. I didn’t know
that it was a political movement born of the Palestinian branch of the
region-wide Muslim Brotherhood at the outset of the First Intifada in 1987. I
didn’t know that, as Helena Cobban writes, the Western media vilification of
Hamas prevented diplomatic initiatives that could have long ago led to peace
based on international law.

Among the attendees of the panel discussion were Youmna El Sayed, Al Jazeera’s English correspondent in Gaza, Susan Abulhawa, Palestinian writer and human rights activist, and Dr Victoria Rose, NHS plastic surgeon supporting trauma care services in Gaza since 2009. Al Jazeera’s Investigative Unit exposed Israeli war crimes in the Gaza Strip through the medium of photos and videos posted online by Israeli soldiers themselves during the year long conflict. The unit has built up a database of thousands of videos, photos and social media posts. Where possible it has identified the posters and those who appear. The film also tells the story of the war through the eyes of Palestinian journalists, human rights workers and ordinary residents of the Gaza Strip.

The F-word of the moment is fascism. Establishment pundits, Democratic Party politicians, and corporate media are of one accord and agree that a Donald Trump presidency will bring fascism to the United States. All of them ignore the authoritarian nature of the state that already exists and the actions taken to date which can accurately be described as fascistic.
On October 13, the same day that the Israel Defense Force (IDF) bombed refugees at the Al-Aqsa Hospital and burned patients alive, the U.S. announced it was sending troops to Israel to man the THAAD missile system which will be used in the imminent attack on Iran. Congress has not approved such a deployment. Most citizens of the U.S. are unaware that their government has chosen to fulfill Israel’s long held fantasy of attacking Iran with U.S. help or that the repercussions could lead to a wider regional war with other nations.
Only avid social media users who know good sources of information were aware that the IDF incinerated sick refugees, including 19-year-old Sha'ban al-Dalou and his mother. Only defeated and soon-to-be former Congresswoman Cori Bush dared to say plainly what Israel had done, setting fire to people in hospital beds. Her colleague Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez , who once declared that Kamala Harris was working “tirelessly” on a ceasefire agreement, is now demanding that Biden and Harris begin an arms embargo on Israel. Of course, Harris has said she is opposed to an arms embargo. If the woman known as AOC was serious she would rescind her endorsement of Harris, but as she epitomizes the unserious politician, no such stance has or will be taken.
In order to prevent the public from reading or viewing or listening to independent media, the State Department has sanctioned Russian-based outlets such as Radio Sputnik . Its programs ceased to operate as of October 15. Secretary of State Blinken accused African Stream of being a “Russian asset” and the site was immediately banned from YouTube and Meta, had its Google account closed, and was prevented from using Stripe to conduct financial transactions. Even small audiences are too large when there is fog of war to be carried out and information to be hidden from the people.
Not only was Sputnik targeted but both the U.S. and Canada have sanctioned the organization Samidoun Prisoner Solidarity Support Network, making it unable to conduct any financial transactions and, in effect, ending its ability to operate. The trumped-up charge was that Samidoun is a “sham,” a “front” organization for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). The setup doesn’t work unless a connection with an organization designated as “terrorist” is alleged. Now an internationally respected organization is destroyed so that opposition to Israeli war crimes can be silenced.
Like clockwork, the Russiagate scam has been dusted off and resurrected when needed at an opportune moment. Kamala Harris declared that, “We know there is foreign interference,” and added for good measure, “I was part of the Senate Intelligence Committee when we investigated Russia’s interference in the 2016 election. Black folks were targeted with misinformation.” For now, we have been spared her contention that Russian operatives were responsible for the controversy surrounding Colin Kaepernick’s protest, which brought attention to police killings in this country.
The giant elephant in the room is Palestine and now Lebanon and the bipartisan determination to support the zionist project after nearly 200,000 people have been killed by bombs, starvation, and illness in Palestine alone. Lebanon is the next target for regime change. The U.S. special envoy, Amos Hochstein , said as much in a Freudian slip: “Once we elect, select, once Lebanon selects a new president.” Hochstein’s title is Special Envoy and Coordinator for International Energy Affairs but he is Biden’s pointman who gave the go-ahead for the invasion of Lebanon. He also happens to have been born in Israel and served in the IDF himself.
So much for impartiality.

Empathy, combined with a cunning understanding of one’s environment and ability to talk to people are crucial instruments for a reporter hoping to get the whole story — not just the headline a paper may seek. Joining host Chris Hedges is Lara Marlowe, journalist and author, to talk about how her former husband and colleague Robert Fisk encapsulated all of that in his years as a journalist and writer and how his work, specifically his book “The Great War for Civilization,” serves as one of the West’s great tools in understanding the modern Middle East.
Marlowe details how Fisk meticulously reported on major stories, such as the US carrier Vincennes shooting down an Iranian civilian airplane or the massacre at Sabra and Shatila in Lebanon. She highlights what it was like to be a fly on the wall, observing his reporting methods, including often finding ways of reporting a story when official lines of communication were down. While in Iran reporting on the shooting down of Iran Air Flight 655, Marlowe tells Hedges, “Robert started sweet talking the Telex operator… and…started writing his front page story directly onto the Telex machine, which amazed me, it really did.”
When Fisk was subject to an almost fatal beating by an Afghan mob, Marlowe explains that even then, he was still understanding and empathetic to the anger of the people. “[Fisk] said that he didn’t blame the people who’d beaten him, because he said if the Americans had just bombed my village and destroyed my house… and I saw a Westerner on a bus on the Afghan-Pakistan border, I’d want to kill him too,” Marlowe recounts.
It is this level of discernment and compassion that distinguished him from other reporters and what made him such an effective journalist. He would step where others wouldn’t and face controversy head on. One such instance involves Fisk’s reporting on the suicide bombing of a US Marine compound in Beirut in 1983, which killed 307 people, and how he interviewed parents and siblings of the bombers. Through this, Marlowe sums up his dedication to reporting: “He really made the effort to understand why they did it. And I think he came closer than anybody else in the West, any non-Muslim, to understanding.”

Richard C. Cook is a retired U.S. federal analyst who served with the Carter White House, NASA, and the U.S. Treasury and as an aide to U.S. Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH).
He has just published a thoughtful book, Our Country Then and Now, which provides a sweeping economic history of the U.S. intermeshed with his own family history.
The book traces the rise of plutocratic rule in the U.S. and negative consequences of this rule, ranging from the cruelty directed against Native Americans to the decimation of U.S. manufacturing vitality and the working class to the waging of endless wars.

Cook sees as a major turning point in U.S. history the creation of the Federal Reserve by the Woodrow Wilson administration at the behest of private banking interests, whose goal was to wrest control of the nation’s money supply.
After World War II, these banking interests pushed for creation of the CIA as the enforcement arm of U.S. foreign policy that was expert in propaganda.
CIA Director William Casey told President Ronald Reagan in 1981 that “we will know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American people believe is false.”[1]
Cook writes that, since Casey uttered those statements, the CIA has been working with the rest of the national security state, including government supported think tanks, mainstream media and non-profits like the Council on Foreign Relations and the Atlantic Council, to further Casey’s goal with the support of internet giants like Google and Wikipedia.
The CIA wants to create a “depleted world population of compliant zombies, drained of creative energy, incapable of independent thinking, riddled with fear, obedient to every conditioned impulse, running from every virus, hating every designated enemy, parroting the mass media, spending as advertising directs, numbed by drugs and medication, and ready to die at the whim of their masters,” according to Cook.[2]
These masters have long waged what Cook calls a campaign of genocide against working class and lower income people that has resulted in falling life expectancies in the U.S. and moral breakdown of society. They have provoked wars around the world after staging false-flag attacks—like the Gulf of Tonkin incident and 9/11—that made it look like U.S. leaders were acting in self-defense.
Cook argues that a primary purpose of the most recent foreign policy disaster—the U.S proxy war with Russia, which has resulted in the deaths of 500,000 Ukrainians—has been to sever relations between Germany and Russia so that the two could not collectively challenge Anglo-American hegemony.
Particularly significant was the blowing up of the Nord Stream II pipeline, which would have effectively interlinked Germany and Russia’s economies and fueled an economic boom in Germany based on its access to cheap Russian energy.
Anglo-American elites had been at war with Germany since the early 1910s, when Germany was maneuvered into a war that was designed to undermine its potential challenge to British worldwide hegemony.[3]
History is thus repeating itself as the U.S. Empire wants to now sever Russia from Germany and the rest of Europe to prevent any effective East-West alliance from developing against it and so it can dominate Europe.

Since 2015, it is officially a University of Alaska Fairbanks project which researches the ionosphere – the highest, ionized part of Earth’s atmosphere. In reality, it has a long history of weather modification and climate geoengineering.

For some critics, if one firm tops a league table for anti-people, anti-nature business practices, it is Bayer (although there are many other worthy candidates).
Nevertheless, the Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR) signed a memorandum of understanding with Bayer in September 2023.
Bayer’s approach to agricultural development involves promoting a model of industrial agriculture dependent on corporate products, including its toxic chemicals and genetically modified crops, and advocating for precision, data-driven agriculture that relies heavily on its proprietary technologies and software.
Simon Wiebusch, Country Divisional Head of Crop Science for Bayer South Asia, recently stated that India cannot become a ‘developed nation’ with ‘backward’ agriculture. He believes India’s agriculture sector must modernise for the country to achieve developed nation status by 2047.
Bayer’s vision for agriculture in India includes prioritising and fast-tracking approvals for its new products, introducing genetically modified (GM) food crops, addressing labour shortages (for weeding) by increasingly focusing on herbicides and developing herbicides for specific crops like paddy, wheat, sugarcane and maize.
Government institutions like the ICAR seem likely to allow Bayer to leverage the agency’s infrastructure and networks to pursue its commercial plans.

With a long-standing dominant role in the American military-industrial complex as well as other facets of the corporate world, the Crowns have a history of doing what’s necessary – whether legal or illegal – to get what they want to advance their political agendas and grow their own power. Even presidents and the Pentagon have been unable to successfully challenge them. As this article will show, the Crowns – perhaps more than any other group – are a critical part of the story of how Jame Dimon became the king of Wall Street.

US arms manufacturers have outperformed major stock indexes this year in a rally fueled by Israel’s year-long genocide of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the expansion of its war against Lebanon.
Stock funds with holdings in the US aerospace and defense industry – including companies like Boeing, Lockheed Martin, RTX, General Dynamics, Northrop Grumman, and L3Harris – saw their profits soar past expectations this year, outperforming the S&P 500 index.
“That handout of taxpayer funds to Israel coupled with Israel’s, and global, demand increasing for weapons in a period of instability, has been jet fuel for stock prices,” reports Responsible Statecraft.
Lockheed Martin, makers of the F-35 aircraft that Israel has used to relentlessly bomb Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen, produced a 54.86 percent total return from 7 October 2023 to the same date in 2024, outperforming S&P 500 by about 18 percent.
RTX, the makers of 2,000-pound ‘bunker buster‘ bombs that turned most of Gaza to rubble and are currently being dropped inside the Lebanese capital, saw its total return for investors in the past year reach 82.69 percent, outperforming S&P 500 by about 46 percent.
General Dynamics, which also manufactures bunker busters and is behind the BLU-109 bombs that Israel used to level several apartment buildings in the southern suburbs of Beirut during the assassination of Hezbollah secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah, delivered a 37 percent total return for investors, outperforming the S&P 500 by just over 3 percent.
On 1 October, as Israel pushed forward with its ground invasion of Lebanon and Iran launched hundreds of ballistic missiles in retaliation for the bombing of its capital, Forbes reported that the stocks of most US arms makers gained over 2.6 percent in value.
“Both Lockheed Martin and RTX shares booked all-time highs Tuesday, while L3Harris and Northrop Grumman tallied their top share price since 2022,” the US financial publication reported.
Furthermore, the BlackRock-managed iShares US Aerospace and Defense fund indexing the aerospace and defense sector hit a new all-time high last week, extending its 12-month gain to 43 percent and outperforming the S&P 500 by 33 percent.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog said Thursday that Israel has no designs on Turkey, denying charges by Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan that “the Israeli government, which has gone mad in the Holy Land, will possibly target our homeland with its religious fanaticism after Palestine and Lebanon.”
Unfortunately for Herzog, on the same day, remarks surfaced from 2016 by Minister of Finance and Civil Administrator of the Palestinian West Bank, Bezalel Smotrich, which gave credence to Erdogan’s fears of Israeli expansionism. Smotrich belongs to the Kahanaist, Religious Zionism Party, the Israeli equivalent of Neo-Nazism.
Herzog is a member of the center-left Labor Party, which at some points has been willing to accept a Palestinian state. Labor itself, however, has attempted to expand Israeli territory at the expense of its neighbors on some occasions, as with its seizure of Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula and Palestinian Gaza in 1956, and again in 1967 with its seizure of the Palestine territories of Gaza and the West Bank, along with the Sinai and the Syrian Golan Heights.

Israel is tightening its vise on civilians in both Gaza and in Lebanon, issuing new evacuation orders in both places on Saturday.
“The conflict in Lebanon, coupled with intensified strikes in Syria and the raging violence in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, points to a region dangerously teetering on the brink of an all-out war,” a senior UN official warned the Security Council on Thursday.
Rosemary DiCarlo, the under-secretary-general for political and peacebuilding affairs, made those remarks after an Israeli airstrike hit a residential building in a suburb of Damascus on Tuesday, killing seven civilians, including women and children.
More than 300 people were killed in Lebanon in the past week alone, DiCarlo told the UN body, warning that time for a diplomatic resolution was quickly running out.
Hizballah continued to fire rockets and drones into Israel from Lebanon on Friday and Saturday, with a drone striking a residential building in Herzliya, near Tel Aviv, on Friday evening and causing no injuries.
Washington was reportedly viewing the crisis in Lebanon and the perceived weakened position of Hizballah following the assassination of key leaders as an opportunity to break the political impasse in that country, which has been without a president for nearly two years.

When Joe Biden took office nearly four years ago, he promised an overhaul of the federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), the largest and best-funded entity within the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). The BOP had long been one of the biggest embarrassments in the federal government with a parade of incompetent directors from both inside and outside DOJ.
Biden and Attorney General Merrick Garland probably had good intentions at the start of their term. They probably really did want to clean up the mess in the federal prison system that has dragged on for decades. But they failed.
To begin with, Biden inherited Michael Carvajal as BOP director from Donald Trump. Carvajal had been named to the job just a couple months before Biden assumed the presidency. Carvajal was a BOP lifer. He began as an entry-level prison guard, worked his way up into administration, became a warden, and finally made his way to BOP headquarters before finally being named as director.
But Carvajal was a failure. Even if the BOP’s deep-seated problems were not necessarily his doing, he was either powerless or too incompetent to do anything about them.
Carvajal resigned in 2022 after more than 100 BOP officers were arrested for, or convicted of, serious crimes during his short tenure, including smuggling drugs and cell phones into prisons to sell to prisoners, theft from prison commissaries, committing violence against prisoners, and even one warden running a “rape club,” where he and other officials, including the prison chaplain, raped female prisoners at will.
Carvajal finally resigned after Congress learned of the “rape club” and Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY), the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, demanded that he leave.

Do you know that you’re in good hands with Allstate? Or how about State Farm? Do you know that, like a good neighbor, State Farm is there? Of course you do. Insurance companies have been blasting slogans like these at us for years now. In 2022 alone, Allstate spent $617 million on advertising. State Farm spent an even more whopping $1.05 billion.
But if insurance giants like State Farm truly rated as our “good neighbors,” they’d be behaving — in real life — quite a bit differently than their award-winning advertising suggests.
In hurricane-plagued Florida, for instance, State Farm last year denied 46.4 percent of homeowner claims, refusals that directly impacted over 76,000 households.
“Property insurers who deny legitimate claims,” notes Martin Weiss, the founder of the nation’s only independent insurer rating agency, “are sending the implicit message, ‘If you don’t like it, sue us.’”
To add injury to that insult, Weiss adds, Florida governor Ron DeSantis had just before last year signed into law new legislation that makes policyholder lawsuits against insurers “far more difficult.”
For recently retired State Farm CEO Michael Tipsord, insurance industry lobbying victories along that Florida line have helped him pocket some stunning personal rewards. Tipsord pulled down $24.4 million in compensation two years ago, almost $4 million more than his industry’s second-highest 2022 CEO pay total. Tipsord had pocketed even more, $24.5 million, in 2021.
“CEOs are living high on the hog while increasing insurance premiums for people living paycheck to paycheck,” the Consumer Federation of America’s Michael DeLong charged last October. “Insurers are telling regulators that ordinary consumers have to pay much more for auto and home insurance because the companies are struggling with inflation and climate change, but they are quietly handing CEOs gigantic bonuses.”
Overall, DeLong’s Consumer Federation reports, the chief execs at America’s ten largest personal insurance lines collected over a quarter-billion dollars in CEO compensation for their services in 2021 and 2022.
If we really had a “good neighbor” at State Farm — or any other insurance giant — those companies wouldn’t have been spending recent years denying relief to the victims of climate change. They would have been insisting instead that lawmakers crack down on the fossil-fuel corporate giants doing so much to foul our planet.

The Haiti/Americas Team of the Black Alliance for Peace strongly denounces the UN Security Council's vote to extend the US-funded, Kenya-led Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission in Haiti. We assert that any US/UN-led armed intervention in Haiti is not only unjustifiable but also unlawful. We stand with the Haitian people and civil society groups who have consistently opposed foreign armed intervention, arguing that Haiti's issues stem from ongoing and long-standing interference by the US, the UN, and the Core Group.
On Monday, September 30th, the UN Security Council unanimously adopted a resolution extending for one year the authorization for the MSS mission to Haiti, which claims to help quell rampant gang violence. Yet, the mission will only be the latest in a line of failed interventions aimed at denying the popular sovereignty of the Haitian people. Prior to this vote, members of the Black Alliance for Peace's Haiti/Americas Team delivered letters to the permanent UN Missions and Embassies of several countries represented on the UN Security Council, asking them to support the Haitian masses and oppose ongoing US-orchestrated armed intervention. A public version of this letter appears here . While our letters were unsuccessful, we will continue to mobilize against this expanding intervention , which lacks legitimacy: the MSS was authorized under an illegitimate US-installed Prime Minister, Ariel Henry, and deployed through the nine-member “Presidential Council” and Prime Minister, neither of which has any legal status or legitimacy in Haiti.
Although the Biden administration has halted its efforts to convert the MSS into an official United Nations Peacekeeping operation, we understand that a full, long-term foreign military occupation of Haiti is the eventual goal of the US and its neocolonial proxies. We warn that the US aims to use Haiti as a staging ground for a permanent military base in the region to, as articulated in its foreign policy documents , secure “US national security and interests” and manage rival powers, presumably Russia and China.
In a time of global uprising, marked by a live-streamed genocide in Gaza and violent clashes between cartels and police in Mexico, it is perplexing that the US, France, and Canada continue to call for the foreign occupation of Haiti — a country that, while facing internal conflicts, does not threaten regional or global security. We once again call on the international community to respect Haitian sovereignty and support the Haitian masses in their ongoing struggle against the relentless occupation by foreign powers. Allowing continuous US and Western control over Haiti's political apparatus not only threatens to extinguish the nation's hard-won sovereignty, but also weakens the sovereignty and self-determination of every other nation in the Caribbean, and Central and South America. There can be no “Zone of Peace” in the Americas if there is no peace and freedom for the people of Haiti.

On October 12, 1492, when the Italian navigator Christopher Columbus mistakenly made landfall in the Bahamas — on an island the Lucayan people called Guanahani — he helped set into motion two holocausts: one of the indigenous peoples of the Americas, the other of the children of Africa. Columbus immediately enslaved several Lucayans, initiating a cruel practice that wiped out their entire bloodline in less than thirty years, and that would reduce the indigenous population of the Americas, two hundred years later, by a staggering ninety to ninety-five percent. In 1491, there were approximately 145 million indigenous people living in the hemisphere; by 1691, less than 15 million remained.
As the near-complete genocide of the indigenous populations unfolded, Europeans sought a new source of labor for the stolen mines and their new plantations in the so-called New World. They turned to Africa, and to a population whom the Europeans cast, first, as un-Christian heathens and later, as biologically distinct beings born only to labor under the savage rule of the white race. In 1517, the first enslaved Africans were brought by the Spanish to the Caribbean. Over the next three centuries, all of Europe would join in an orgy of terror, torture, and death that consumed the lives of tens of millions of Africans for the profits and pleasures of the white world.
But where there is repression, there is resistance. And as the late Guyanese scholar Jan Carew has observed, the twin holocausts of indigenous and African people in the Americas led to moments of solidarity and struggle against their mutual enemies, the white European colonizers and slave owners. In a 1995 essay titled “United We Stand! While some celebrate “Columbus Day,” we should view it as a memorial to genocide and slavery – to the twin holocausts of indigenous and African people. But we should also remember those joint histories of struggle whereby Indigenous and African people fought for their survival. Jan Carew’s essay “United We Stand! The Posse Comitatus Act, passed by Congress in 1878, bans the United States Armed Forces from being used to enforce domestic policies. Meaning the government can’t deploy the army to suppress protesters or otherwise act as police within the U.S. borders. Except that the Defense Department recently issued a directive that conflicts directly with the Posse Comitus Act and states that the military can and will be deployed domestically to crush internal dissent.
