Dear Colleagues and Friends of CEIMSA,

On this, the 154th anniversary of the start of the Paris Commune (March 18 – May 28, 1871), we once again look at the social media to discover conversations which continue to affect our social history, in an attempt to study “what went wrong.” We are fully aware in the study of history –whether it’s l'histoire longue durée, or l’histoire sociale des Etats, or l’histoire immédiate-- that the answers we find can be no better than the questions we ask, and that our interpretations must be fact-based; but at the same time this required objectivity will mean nothing without a self-conscious acknowledgement of the perspective from which we view past events. In short, unlike the omniscient gods of the past, the historian of today is expected to choose sides; then approach his/her study as objectively as possible, in a way that will contribute to our understanding of the present state of affairs. (In short, we can achieve “objectivity” but are unable to deny the “biases” we have inherited as full members of our society).

Many scholars think that any logical study of past events is enhanced by use of the theory of historical materialism and the method of dialectical materialism, to prove or disprove the validity of formal theories. The material contradictions and ideological paradoxes of the past are better accounted for, it is believed, by consciously adopting this transparent procedure of investigation -- in place of simply projecting received idea and metaphysical convictions-- before arriving at critical judgments.

***

NOTE TO READERS: I am preparing for the next CEIMSA Bulletin a presentation of  the remarkable medieval work, Ecclesiastical History of the English People (completed in 731A.D.), by the Venerable Bede.

The 26+ items below are a selection of conversations now taking place in the critical Anglophone social media which reflect the turbulent times produced by “revolution from the top down”. These discussions reflect the turmoil and confusion we are experiencing today, what has been described as “a hybrid political culture,” where the traditional notions of “left” and “right” have been systematically subverted by semantic techniques. We are left to make our own analyses using what intellectual support we may have acquired from bygone years of education and experience, in order to locate our authentic, material interests and to determine which side we are on in the contemporary social class struggles now underway and of which we are an integral part.

Sincerely,

Francis McCollum Feeley

“Canada’s Muted Criticism of Israel’s “Hell Plan” to Starve Gaza Reflects Liberal’s Racist Approach to Palestinians”

https://www.globalresearch.ca/canada-muted-criticism-israel-hell-plan-starve-gaza/5881649

by Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East

Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East (CJPME) deplores Canada’s half-hearted response to Israel’s cruel decision to abandon the ceasefire deal in Gaza and again use starvation as a weapon against Palestinians. Since the beginning of the staged ceasefire process, Israel has repeatedly violated the agreement by failing to allow tents, motorhomes, and other key materials into Gaza. On March 2nd, Netanyahu refused to move to the next stage of the ceasefire deal and once again blocked the entry of food, medicine and humanitarian aid into Gaza. This is part of a concerted effort – known as Israel’s “Hell Plan” and supported by US President Trump – to starve Palestinians into accepting a new watered-down agreement that does not guarantee Israel’s military withdrawal.

“Canada’s virtual silence in the face of mass starvation and ethnic cleansing has normalized these grave crimes, allowing Netanyahu to weaponize food as a way to bully Palestinians to get whatever he wants,” said Alex Paterson, CJPME’s Senior Director of Strategy and Parliamentary Affairs. “After learning that he can starve Palestinians to death and still depend on the support of the West, Netanyahu is returning to his genocidal campaign, eroding any gains that have been made during the ceasefire so far. Canada bears responsibility for this situation just as much as the United States,” added Paterson.

Canada has long backed Israel’s illegal use of collective punishment against Palestinian civilians for political ends, including the 18-year illegal blockade on Gaza since the last democratic elections when Hamas swept to power. Neither Prime Minister Trudeau nor Foreign Minister Joly have condemned Netanyahu’s most recent “Hell Plan,” with the only statement posted on the Foreign Affairs Twitter account saying that “Canada is concerned by Israel’s decision to halt aid to Gaza.”

Trudeau’s New Sympathetic Tone on Gaza Won’t Avert Genocide

“Trudeau has chosen to stand up against Trump when it comes to defending itself and Ukraine, but refuses to meaningfully defend Palestinians from the same annexationist threats. In his mind, Palestinians apparently don’t qualify for the same rights as Ukrainians, Israelis, and Canadians. This reflects a racist double standard in how both Trump and Trudeau alike view who truly belongs in the international community with inalienable human rights,” added Paterson.

Israel’s use of starvation as a weapon is a blatant violation of the provisional measures ordered by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to prevent genocide in Gaza. At the same time, the International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and former defence minister Gallant, in part for committing the war crime of starvation as a method of warfare. The ICC found it reasonable to conclude that “both individuals intentionally and knowingly deprived the civilian population in Gaza of objects indispensable to their survival, including food, water, and medicine and medical supplies, as well as fuel and electricity.” Evoking the language of the crime of genocide, the ICC noted that this deprivation “created conditions of life calculated to bring about the destruction of part of the civilian population in Gaza, which resulted in the death of civilians, including children due to malnutrition and dehydration.”

The Trudeau government has so far evaded the question of whether it would enforce the ICC arrest warrants if Netanyahu came to Canadian soil, and has not publicly condemned the Trump administration’s sanctions against the ICC.

“President Putin Questions Ukraine’s Ceasefire Intentions”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7E1eM9qg-E

by Freelensia

(7:57)

On March 13, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko held a joint news conference, addressing key issues related to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and the prospects for a ceasefire. President Putin expressed skepticism regarding Ukraine’s readiness to halt hostilities, questioning the conditions and potential consequences of a proposed 30-day truce. He emphasized that any ceasefire must lead to lasting peace and resolve the root causes of the crisis. Additionally, he pointed out concerns about how the ceasefire would be enforced along the nearly 2,000-kilometer frontline and whether Ukraine would use the pause to regroup, mobilize forces, and receive more Western weapons.

Putin also highlighted the situation in the Kursk region, where he claimed Russian forces had fully isolated Ukrainian troops who had crossed into Russian territory. He stated that without a clear agreement on the fate of these forces, the ceasefire’s effectiveness remained uncertain. The Russian president further suggested discussing the issue with international partners, including the United States, and even proposed a direct conversation with President Donald Trump. Despite his reservations, Putin reiterated that Russia supports resolving the conflict through peaceful means but stressed that critical details must be addressed before any ceasefire can be implemented.

“Who Are the War Criminals? The Nightmare: The Iraq Invasion’s Atrocities, Unearthing the Unthinkable”

https://www.globalresearch.ca/the-nightmare-the-iraq-invasion-s-atrocities-unearthing-the-unthinkable/21370

by Felicity Arbuthnot

March 19, 2025 marks 22 years since the US-UK-led war on Iraq in 2003. But that war did not start in 2003. It is an ongoing 31 years’ wars. It is part of a broader war against humanity.

This article by Felicity Arbuthnot was first published on October 9, 2010. Felicity was for several years a war correspondent in Iraq.

https://www.globalresearch.ca/wp-content/uploads/2004/11/100250.jpgI have a deeply held belief that the duty of a commentator is, to the best of one’s ability, to record, to shine light in often dark places, to act as a voice for those whose own voice, fears, plights might not be heard or known. To write about the emotions one sometimes feels when doing it, is an anathema and anyway a redundancy.

The purpose is to attempt to draw attention to wrongs, not to whinge about the effects they can have – and any way, a private life should be just that. If politicians wish to strip themselves of their dignity and allude to everything from their sex life, to using private grief to gain sympathy votes, those with a shred of self-respect do not wish to emulate them. Here, I am breaking my taboo, for a reason.

Over the last several weeks I have again researched in depth, invasion’s atrocities in Iraq, unearthing the unthinkable, switching off emotion and reading of terror, torture, monstrous wickednesses, word after sickening word. Then, Fallujah revisited (1) with document after document revealing the depth of the darkest depravities towards others, which can be plumbed, by “some mother’s son” – or daughter. Indeed, some child’s father or mother, able to shoot the children, toddlers, babies of others, in cold blood, drive over them in tanks, leaving the pathetic remains to be eaten by stray dogs.

“Nuland Admits US Discouraged Ukraine From Signing Russia Peace Deal At Moment It Was 'Really Close'”

by Tyler Durden

There's never a dull moment when former high-ranking State Department official Victoria Nuland goes on the record for a new tell-all. She's certainly never shy about broadcasting her role in anti-Moscow covert maneuvering and machinations.

Indeed, many already know her as Victoria-'Fuck the EU'-Nuland and for essentially running foreign policy in Europe stretching back through the Obama years as then Assistant Secretary of State for Europe, where many of the problems which sparked the disastrous and tragic Russia-Ukraine war were first set in motion.

Exiled Russian journalist Mikhail Zygar recently sat down with her for a new interview published to YouTube earlier this month. The most interesting part of the interview was when he pressed Nuland on widespread reports saying that British Prime Minister Boris Johnson actively encouraged President Zelensky to back out of a potential peace deal with Moscow early after the Feb.2022 Russian invasion. There was a possible chance to end the war and perhaps avoid hundreds of thousands of deaths. But the West apparently convinced Zelensky to fight it out.

For a decade the US and western media pretended to be greatly concerned about poor Syrian civilians being slaughtered by their government. Last week, 1000s of Syrians were killed point blank in mass executions by the new Al-Qaeda terrorist regime that took over the state in a Turkey-backed coup de force. And the West remains silent and complicit in this very predictable humanitarian catastrophe. Why does the USA and its European satellites still engage in sich horrible manufactured catastrophes? “The Genesis of Sectarian Death Squads in Syria: The Fall of Assad to US-Supported Extremists and the Massacre of Christians and Alawites”

https://www.globalresearch.ca/genesis-sectarian-death-squads-syria/5881948

by Dennis Kucinich

While many in Washington claim to defend Christianity and Western values, their policies have led to the systematic annihilation of some of the world’s oldest Christian communities. The same politicians who posture as defenders of faith have not just turned a blind eye to the suffering of Christians in the Middle East, from Palestine’s West Bank and Gaza to Lebanon and Syria, they have chosen instead to fund their murderers.

U.S. tax dollars funneled through the CIA and USAID, have played a pivotal role in arming and enabling extremist factions whose ascendance has resulted in atrocities.

The forces of Syria’s new self-proclaimed “interim president” a Salafist, Sunni Muslim who currently goes by the name Ahmed al-Shara, over this past weekend lined up civilians, both Alawites and Christians, against the wall and executed them. Their crime: Infidelity to Salafism, a strict interpretation of Islamic law.

Elizabeth and I have visited Syria many times. We have traveled through it and experienced a beautiful, secular country where being Syrian was more important than a difference in faith, where communities attending churches, synagogues and mosques lived as one.

Syria has been torn apart over the last decades by external interventionism and ignorance giving rise to extremism and the worst humanitarian disaster of the 21st Century.

Many Syrian Christians historically supported the Assad government and its Ba’athist secular ideology because it guaranteed religious freedom and protected minorities.

Unlike certain Islamist movements, the Assad regime maintained a secular state where Christians could practice their faith without persecution. Christians held positions in the government, military, and business sectors.

The Alawites are a religious minority in Syria, with smaller communities in Lebanon and Turkey. The Assad family which ruled from 1970 to earlier this year is Alawite.

The Alawite practice of Islam incorporates elements of Gnosticism, Neoplatonism, and Christianity. It is distinct from mainstream Islamic sects. Former President Assad promoted secularism consistent with Alawite support for secular governance.

Soul-searing videos have surfaced from the mass murders of recent days: Alawite and Christian Syrians pleading for their lives while being dehumanized, ordered to crawl on all fours and bark like dogs to prepare for “dying like dogs,” in a fusillade of bullets. The killers are seen being cautioned to turn off their phones and not to share such videos so as not to turn world opinion against them.

Public relations are always to be desired to cover up cold-blooded murder and its designs and to protect the West’s fantasy that the new self-declared rulers of Syria are kinder and gentler than the propagandized descriptions of their predecessors.

How did the situation get to this point? . . . .

“Mass-Murdering Chaos in Syria”

https://www.globalresearch.ca/mass-murdering-chaos-syria/5881744

by Mark Taliano

Former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice called it “Creative Chaos” (1). It’s actually mass-murder. This is what is happening now in Syria, beneath the Al-Qaeda dictatorship installed by the West and its agencies. (2)

Evidence on the ground demonstrates that sectarian terrorism, mass-murder, is rampant, particularly in coastal regions.

Any al Qaeda promises of amnesty (3) appear null and void and Empire is no doubt satisfied, especially when its hidden hand remains concealed and the blame is falsely diverted to Assad or any number of other convenient scape-goats.

The brutal sanctions, the non-stop Western-supported al Qaeda/ISIS terrorism, the seemingly never-ending war, the corruption, this was all imperial design. This is how Empire operates. Corrupt failed states are the goal, it makes looting, plunder, control easy.

It was and is a Regime Change war and the Regime Changed.

The disaster that is Syria is an imperial success story.

SEE: Alex Krainer: Syria's Chaos to Spread - Trump's America and Putin's Power Play in Ukraine

The Assad government was not perfect, nor would any government be perfect under similar circumstances, but the chief orchestrator of the current mass-murdering disaster is Washington.

Syria is now fully balkanized, with illegal and on-going  occupations by the U.S and its proxies, including SDF and al Qaeda/ISIS, plus Turkey, and Israel.

READ: Western-Supported Al Qaeda Invasion Topples Elected Syrian Government

The next likely fake pretext for the metastasizing imperial occupations will be a variation of the “White Man’s Burden” and/or “War on Terror” themes.  Imperial occupiers will argue that the “natives” must be saved from the very terrorists that the West has always supported, covertly and overtly. They must be “saved” from the poverty, the corruption and the sectarian massacres that the West itself has created.

If ever there was an example of imperial lawlessness, or the malign intentions of a “Rules Based Order”, Syria is it.

Imperialists have destroyed a secular, pluralist, democratically-oriented sovereign nation and transformed it into a balkanized failed state.  All by design.

“Russia and U.S. Call for UN Meeting as Toll From Massacres on Syria’s Coast Tops 1,400”

https://www.globalresearch.ca/russia-us-call-un-meeting-massacres-syria/5881839

by South Front

Russia and the United States on March 9 called for closed-door consultations at the United Nations Security Council to address the recent escalation on the Syrian coast which saw the death of hundreds of civilians from the Alawite minority in massacres carried out by government forces and affiliated militias.

A rebellion broke out on the Syrian coast on March 6 following a series of violations against the Alawites, with officers from the former Syrian Arab Army leading the move. The Alawites are an offshoot of Islam Shiite. The family of former Syrian president Bashar al-Assad belongs to the sect.

The rebels saw initial success in Latakia, Qardaha, Jableh, Banias and Tartus. Nevertheless, they were overpowered by government forces which brought in large reinforcements on March 7. Since then, Alawites civilians have been targeted en masse.

Both Russia and the U.S. have slammed the killings. In a statement, Russia’s First Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Dmitry Polyancky said that both countries had urgently requested the meeting, which is expected to take place on March 10 under Denmark’s presidency of the Security Council.

In an alarming report, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said on March 10 that at least 973 civilians, mostly Alawites, had been killed in 39 separate massacres on the coast. The London-based monitoring group noted in previous reports that an additional 231 security personnel and 250 rebels had also been killed in the escalation.

Despite growing international pressure, at least 143 Alawite civilians were killed in the early hours of March 10, according to the SOHR.

Selected Articles: EU Backs Islamic Terrorists in Syria While Russia, US Condemn Their Massacres

Photos posted to social networks showed the bodies of dozens of victims, including women, children and elderly men, who had been slaughtered or shot from point blank.

Syrian government forces and affiliated militants, including foreign fighters, mostly from Central Asia and the North Caucasus, were reportedly responsible.

The massacres have so far displaced at least 10,000 Alawites to the governorate of Baalbek-Hermel in eastern Lebanon with more that 7,000 others taking shelter at Russia’s Khmeimim Air Base near Jableh.

The Syrian government announced on March 9 that it had formed a judicial committee to investigate what it described as “recent events” on the Syrian coast. Nevertheless, at least one of the committee members was revealed to have anti-Alawite sentiment, which raised doubts about the sincerity of the move.

The number of victims is expected to rise dramatically in coming days as activists from the coast said that government forces were working to get rid of the bodies by burying them in mass graves or even burning them. Some even went on to suggest that the real toll may be as high as 4,000.

The massacres have inflicted serious damage on efforts to legitimize the Syrian government. The rare joint move by Russia and the U.S. in the UNSC indicates that the country’s Islamist rulers could face consequences. While a military intervention remains highly unlikely for the time being, the government will certainly struggle from now to ease sanctions and receive aid.

“Twenty-six Years Ago: NATO’s War of Aggression against Yugoslavia: Who are the War Criminals?”

https://www.globalresearch.ca/nato-s-war-of-aggression-in-yugoslavia-who-are-the-war-criminals/2144

by Prof Michel Chossudovsky

Twenty-six years ago in the early hours of March 24, 1999, NATO began the bombing of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. “The operation was code-named “Allied Force ” – a cold, uninspired and perfectly descriptive moniker” according to Nebosja Malic.

March 15, 2025. I am currently in Belgrade: This was NATO’s first war against a sovereign Nation State. It was a criminal undertaking. It was also a dress rehearsal for all subsequent US-NATO led wars.

This article was first written in early May 1999 at the height of the bombing of Yugoslavia.

The causes and consequences of this war have over the years been the object of a vast media disinformation campaign, which has sought to conceal and dismiss NATO and US war crimes against the people of the former Republic of Yugoslavia.

It is important to note that in the late 1990s a large segment of the “Progressive Left” in Western Europe and  North America were part of this disinformation campaign, presenting NATO military intervention as a necessary humanitarian operation geared towards protecting the rights of ethnic Albanians in Kosovo.

The intervention was in violation of international law. President Milosevic at the 1998 Rambouillet talks had refused the stationing of NATO troops inside Yugoslavia.

The demonization of Slobodan Milošević  has served over the years to uphold the legitimacy of the NATO bombings as well as conceal the crimes committed by the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA).

It also provided credibility to “a war crimes tribunal” under the jurisdiction of those who committed extensive war crimes in the name of social justice.

Slobodan Milosevic was arrested and deported to The Hague Tribunal ICTY detention Centre. The Just War thesis was also upheld by several prominent intellectuals who viewed the Kosovo war as: “a Just War”.

In turn the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) was upheld by several “Leftists” as a bona fide liberation movement rooted in Marxism.

The KLA –whose leader Hachim Thaci until recently was president of Kosovo– was a paramilitary army supported by Western intelligence, financed and trained by the US and NATO. It had ties to organised crime. It also had  links to Al Qaeda, which is supported by US intelligence. Hashim Thaci has been on the Interpol list in the 1990s.

In April -May 1999, there  was ample evidence that the KLA leader supported by NATO was responsible for war crimes and that he was the Interpol list. On a personal note: I was blacklisted by so-called progressives as well as by the mainstream media for revealing this evidence as well confirming that Hashim Thaci was on the Interpol list.

On March 11, 2006, Milošević was found dead in his prison cell.  According to his lawyer, who had been in contact with him, Milosevic had been  poisoned.

Exactly ten years later on March 24, 2016The Hague ICTY Tribunal exonerated Milosevic stating he was innocent of the crimes he was accused of.

In a bitter irony, Thaci was rewarded for his crimes, appointed prime minster of Kosovo in 2008, and then president in early April 2016.

Meanwhile, the United States established Camp Bondsteel in 1999,  “the largest and the most expensive foreign military base built in Europe since the Vietnam War”.

It took the “international community” to acknowledge that Hashim Thaci had committed extensive crimes against humanity.

In June 2020, Kosovo President Hashim Thaci was charged with 10 counts of war crimes and crimes against humanity for his role in the country’s conflict in the 1990s” by the Kosovo Tribunal in The Hague.

“Thaci and three other former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) are accused of overseeing illegal detention facilities where the movement’s opponents were kept in inhumane conditions, tortured and sometimes killed. He continues to be described  as a wartime hero.

It is worth noting that the same “Leftists” who supported the KLA in 1999 are now supporting the Syrian “revolutionaries”  (affiliated to Al Qaeda and supported by US-NATO).

Today our thoughts are with the people of Yugoslavia whose country was fragmented and destroyed by US-NATO.

Our thoughts are also with the people of Kosovo who were their victims of extensive NATO bombings as documented in this article written 21 years ago at the height of NATO’s War of Aggression against Yugoslavia .

“‘Everything is bad and will get worse’ – Ukraine Serviceman to British Media”

https://www.globalresearch.ca/everything-bad-get-worse-ukraine/5881721

by Ahmed Adel

The number of wounded Ukrainians has increased by 20% in recent weeks.

Ukraine’s Armed Forces have lost the initiative on the battlefield, and even with the resumption of US military aid, the Ukrainians would have little chance of stopping the Russian army’s advances. The fact that Trump halted intelligence sharing with Ukraine makes it almost impossible for the Ukrainian military to halt Russia’s advances on the battlefield.

The Telegraph quotes a Ukrainian military doctor who points out that everything happening on the front is getting worse every day for Ukrainian forces, because in recent weeks the number of wounded Ukrainians has increased by 20%.

Artem—not his real name—a 30-year-old medic who wished to remain anonymous for safety reasons, said that he had noticed a “20 percent” increase in casualties in recent weeks and expressed his belief that “the number will rapidly grow even more”.

“On top of this, it is getting warmer. Better weather conditions mean a higher intensity of fighting,” added Artem, who ferries injured soldiers to and from the front lines.

Another combat medic emphasized that the resumption of US aid would not stop Russian advances, because the front line is no longer as stable as it once was.

“The front line is not stable any more. It is not a line, but a zigzag, which makes it more difficult to defend,” said Slava, 27, speaking from a village on the border between the Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions. “It’s sad to say, but we don’t have initiative on the battlefield anymore.”

The newspaper emphasizes that morale in Ukrainian forces is lowered  and that they are overworked.

“The workload is absolutely insane. I have been in touch with other medics and everyone is saying they are overwhelmed,” he said. “We all have an empty look in our eyes because of everything.”

“I am going to say honestly how it is: everything is bad and it’s going to be worse, but we need to keep working and pushing,” Artem added.

All this is happening amid US President Donald Trump’s refusal to provide Ukraine with US military aid and intelligence data due to Kiev’s refusal to commit to peace negotiations.

READ MORE: Pentagon Denies U.S. Is Providing Ukraine Intel to Kill Russian Generals

Slava said that now was “not the time” to suspend the sharing of intelligence, saying that the move was a “gamble” with the fate of Ukraine.

“It’s not the time to appease the enemy. This step shows once again that the Republicans are for Russia,” he added.

The Trump administration announced the pauses in military aid and intelligence data after the US president and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky’s meeting in the Oval Office devolved into a shouting match.

As Retired Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg, Trump’s special envoy to Ukraine and Russia, said at an event on March 6 at the Council on Foreign Relations, the Kiev regime had “brought it on themselves.”

“The best way I can describe it is sort of like hitting a mule with a two-by-four across the nose. You got their attention,” he stressed.

It is recalled that US President Joe Biden said he was “convinced” that Russia would launch a special military operation only six days before it was launched on February 24. When asked how he knew this, Biden said,

“We have a significant intelligence capability.”

This example shows how crucial American intelligence has been for Ukraine, especially when remembering that the Kiev regime thought Biden’s intelligence was incorrect.

US intelligence has allowed Ukrainian forces to prepare for Russian attacks. Mostly gathered from satellite imagery and signals, US intelligence helps Ukraine track Russian troop movements and the location of their bases, which enables Ukrainian forces to attack them with missiles, including strikes inside Russian territory with US-made ATACMS and HIMARS.

A New York Times investigation published in February 2024 revealed that, after a command center of the Ukrainian military was destroyed, the CIA financed and partly equipped an underground bunker to replace it so that the Ukrainian military could track Russian spy satellites and listen in on conversations.

Although the United Kingdom and France have committed themselves to continuing to provide intelligence, they cannot replace that of the US. In fact, they do not have the range of US capabilities, are not on the same scale, and cannot take their place. London and Paris will only transfer their own intelligence to Ukraine and will not pass on data originating in the US.

With weapons and intelligence from the US halted, Ukraine is in a position that makes a military victory almost impossible. Now, Zelensky will eventually be forced to go to the negotiating table. However, as the Ukrainian servicepeople highlighted, until Zelensky overcomes his ego and accepts a peace deal, the situation will only get worse.

US President Donald Trump has claimed a "very good chance" of ending the Ukraine war following "productive" talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on March 13. Trump urged Putin to spare surrounded Ukrainian troops in Kursk, but the White House clarified that US envoy Steve Witkoff, not Trump, spoke with Putin. Despite reports of no encirclement of Ukrainian forces, Putin offered to guarantee safety for surrendered troops. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitri Peskov noted "cautious optimism" in US-Russia relations, while Belarusian President Lukashenko expressed doubts about the US’s plans for Ukraine, urging caution in talks.

“Trump Takes on the ‘Collective West’”

https://www.globalresearch.ca/trump-takes-collective-west/5881451

by M. K. Bhadrakumar

The dramatic scene in the Oval Office on Friday evening signals that President Donald Trump is decoupling the US from the ‘forever war’ in Ukraine that his predecessor Joe Biden left behind. The war is poised to end with a whimper, but its ‘butterfly effect’ on our incredibly complex, deeply interconnected world will define European and international security for decades to come.

The western media which is hostile toward Trump, have seized the opportunity to caricature him as an impulsive figure in a role reversal with Zelenskyy. In reality, though, Trump has been literally driven to this point by the Biden administration.

The highly charged emotional reaction by the European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen commiserating with President Zelensky speaks for itself:

“Your dignity honours the bravery of the Ukrainian people. Be strong, be brave, be fearless. You are never alone, dear President.”

Trump’s refusal to give Von der Leyen an appointment may partly explain her fury as a woman scorned. Truly, the ‘Collective West’ find themselves at a crossroads and do not know which road to take. Without US air cover and satellite inputs, western troop deployment in Ukraine will be impossible. Even French Emmanuel Macron would agree that his troops will be put through a meat grinder.

Both Von der Leyen and Macron had a whale of a time as cheerleaders of Biden’s war but any further adventures in Ukraine will be suicidal, to put it mildly. Ukraine’s military will collapse if Trump freezes support. None of the European powers will risk a collision with Russia.

Trump knows by now that the western narrative of Biden’s war is a load of bullshit peppered with falsehoods and outright lies, and that the war erupted only out of the diabolic western plot to poke the bear, which got provoked finally and hit out.

The CIA’s coup in Kiev in February 2014 was a watershed event paving the way for a NATO presence on Ukrainian soil. Indeed, terrible things happened, which have been shoved under the carpet — for instance, then German foreign minister (current president) Frank-Walter Steinmeier’s dubious links with the neo-Nazi Ukrainian groups who acted as storm troopers in the 2014 coup. Just think of the grotesqueness of it — a German social democrat patronising neo-Nazi groups!

Most certainly, Trump knows that the US deep state had set in motion an agenda to destabilise the Russian Federation and dismember it as the unfinished business no sooner than the Soviet Union was dissolved. The Chechen War has no other explanation. In fact, Putin has accused US agents of directly aiding the insurgents.

Again, Bill Clinton administration floated the idea of NATO expansion as early as in 1994. It came out of the blue but was obviously a work in progress since the day after the disbandment of the Soviet Union. By the mid-1990s, even Boris Yeltsin understood that he was played nicely. The return of Evgeny Primakov to the Kremlin and Yeltsin’s overture to Beijing were the surest signs of a course correction.

Those familiar with Soviet history had known all along that Ukraine would be the theatre where the US would set the bear trap and try to seal the fate of Russia. If further confirmation was needed, it came with the CIA’s colour revolution in Ukraine in 2003 where the election was rigged (as is happening in Romania today) and carried to a third round until the proxy emerged “victorious” —  and surely, Viktor Yushchenko brought the NATO membership issue to the table. Just four years thereafter, at the 2008 NATO summit in Bucharest, George W. Bush insisted that the alliance formally offered membership to Ukraine, ignoring Vladimir Putin’s protestations in real time at the venue, rubbing the bear’s nose in the dust!

Today, Britain’s MI6 calls the shots in Kiev. Zelenskyy admitted recently that much of the money given by Biden simply “disappeared”. He threw up his hands in the air! But sordid tales of massive kickbacks and corruption are galore. Biden knew but ignored them. The Biden family’s involvement in Ukraine’s cesspools is widely known. Contrary to his pledge earlier not to do so, Biden felt constrained finally to grant a presidential pardon to son Hunter Biden so that he wouldn’t end up in jail.

Suffice to say, Zelenskyy’s ‘strategic defiance’ stems out of his quiet confidence that western leaders — starting with Boris Johnson and Biden — who have been fellow travellers in the gravy train during the past three years of the war are beholden to him till eternity. His belligerence last Friday was a carefully stage-managed theatrics and he was put up to it most probably by Von der Leyen and sundry other discontented 30-odd Western leaders like Canada’s Justin Trudeau who confabulated in Kiev last Monday even as Macron was ‘finessing’ Trump in the Oval Office. These insurgents within the Western alliance seem to think that Trump will back off if frontally confronted.

In sum, Trump and JD Vance did just the right thing by putting Zelenskyy in his due place and called the bluff of the Europeans. The axis between Zelensky and his European Union supporters is cajoling Trump, pressuring him and flattering him in turn to get him on board the bandwagon so that the war rolls on for another four years. Last week alone, the presidents of France and Poland and the British prime minister descended on the White House one after another seeking assurance that the war in Ukraine will continue. But Trump has refused to oblige. . . . .

“The European Union’s Strategic Blindness: Failing to Forge a Strong Alliance with Russia Against US Imperialism”

https://www.globalresearch.ca/european-union-failing-strong-alliance-russia-against-us-imperialism/5881716

by Prof. Ruel F. Pepa

The European Union (EU) has long struggled to assert its own geopolitical independence, repeatedly falling into the orbit of US interests, particularly in the context of the ongoing war in Ukraine. This dependence has manifested in various aspects of its foreign policy, economic decisions, and security measures, which have often aligned with Washington’s agenda rather than prioritizing Europe’s unique strategic interests.

A significant point of contention has been the EU’s handling of its relationship with Russia. Despite the historical, economic, and geographical ties between Europe and Russia, the EU has failed to recognize the strategic importance of forging a strong alliance with its eastern neighbor. Instead, it has adhered closely to the US stance, which has been characterized by sanctions and diplomatic isolation. This approach has not only prolonged the conflict in Ukraine but has also hindered potential opportunities for peace and stability in the region. The EU’s alignment with US policies in this regard can be seen as a contribution to Washington’s long-term imperialistic agenda of maintaining a unipolar world order, where the US holds predominant influence.

Under both the Biden and Trump administrations, the US has managed to manipulate European policymakers to serve its global ambitions. This influence is evident in various decisions made by European leaders that have, at times, prioritized US interests over Europe’s own economic and security concerns. For instance, the EU’s decision to impose sanctions on Russia, heavily influenced by the US, has had significant economic repercussions for European industries, particularly in sectors reliant on Russian energy and raw materials.

Furthermore, the EU’s unwillingness to chart an independent course in its foreign policy has exposed its geopolitical naïvete and lack of foresight. By not leveraging its potential as a unified bloc capable of independent decision-making, the EU has often found itself reacting to global events rather than shaping them. This reactive stance has diminished its influence on the world stage and has made it more susceptible to external manipulation.

To achieve true geopolitical independence, the EU needs to develop a more strategic and autonomous approach to its foreign policy. This involves reassessing its alliances, including its relationship with the US, and considering the long-term benefits of fostering a more balanced and pragmatic relationship with Russia and other global powers. Only through such measures can the EU hope to establish itself as a formidable and independent actor in the international arena, capable of safeguarding its own interests and contributing to global stability.

The US and Its War in Ukraine: A Tool for Imperial Domination

Since the beginning of the Ukraine war, Washington has worked tirelessly to ensure European alignment with its broader geopolitical strategy. The Biden administration, in particular, has aggressively pushed the EU into supporting the conflict by providing military aid to Ukraine, imposing severe sanctions on Russia, and fostering an atmosphere of unyielding hostility between Europe and Moscow. This strategy is not rooted in concern for Ukraine’s sovereignty or security but rather in the larger goal of weakening Russia as a global power while consolidating US dominance over Europe.

The provision of military aid to Ukraine by the EU, heavily encouraged by the US, has been a pivotal element of this strategy. This support has included supplying weapons, training Ukrainian forces, and offering financial assistance to sustain Ukraine’s defense efforts. The intense focus on bolstering Ukraine’s military capabilities underscores the US’s desire to create a formidable opposition to Russian advances. However, this influx of military aid has also contributed to the escalation and prolongation of the conflict, causing severe humanitarian crises and further destabilizing the region.

“The Folly of Nuclear Brinkmanship: Macron’s Misguided Call to Arms”

https://www.globalresearch.ca/nuclear-brinkmanship-macron-misguided-call-arms/5881823

by  Prof. Ruel F. Pepa

French President Emmanuel Macron has recently ramped up his advocacy for European nations to bolster their nuclear arsenals, particularly directing his appeals toward the United Kingdom under the new leadership of Prime Minister Keir Starmer. His call to action comes amid growing anxieties over what Western leaders perceive as “Russian aggression,” framing nuclear expansion as a necessary step in securing Europe’s defense posture. However, such a move treads dangerously close to outright recklessness, given the undeniable reality that Russia possesses the most formidable nuclear arsenal on the planet, vastly surpassing that of any other nation in both quantity and strategic capabilities.

Macron’s position, shared by his allies, appears to be rooted in a fundamental misunderstanding—or outright disregard—of the brutal and unforgiving nature of warfare. The immutable “logic of war” dictates that, irrespective of the victors and the vanquished, all parties involved ultimately suffer immense losses. This principle is especially pertinent in the context of nuclear warfare, where the very concept of victory becomes meaningless in the face of mutually assured destruction. Rather than serving as a rational security strategy, the push for nuclear expansion risks exacerbating global instability, further entrenching the world in a perilous arms race.

The foundation of Macron’s argument seems to rest on the doctrine of deterrence—a strategic framework born out of the Cold War that posits that maintaining a robust nuclear arsenal dissuades adversaries from engaging in direct conflict. Proponents of this theory argue that the mere presence of overwhelming destructive power is enough to ensure peace through fear. However, history offers countless examples that challenge this assumption. Far from preventing war, arms races have repeatedly led to heightened tensions, miscalculations, and, in some cases, outright catastrophe. The Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962, for instance, nearly plunged the world into nuclear war precisely because of the reckless escalation of military posturing.

“Bank of England to Open “Digital Pound Lab”

https://off-guardian.org/2025/01/15/bank-of-england-to-open-digital-pound-lab/

by Kit Knightly

The Bank of England announced yesterday that they will be launching a “digital pound lab” to “experiment” with different “use-cases” and set-ups of the UK’s planned Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC).

This signals the end of the “consultation and response phase” and the beginning of the “design phase”, according to the BoE’s website.

This is the first real news on the digital currency front for some time.

In fact, after an action-packed 2023 saw at least 135 of the world’s 197 nation states developing a digital currency, things have been eerily quiet on that front. Some nations – including Japan and Canada – have paused or even entirely scrapped CBDC development.

Even the Bank of England’s announcement of the lab contains much softer language than the previously energetic and enthusiastic endorsements of digital currency. Noting the CBDC would be “used alongside banknotes” instead of replacing them, and that “No decision has been made on whether to proceed with a digital pound.”

Whether this is due to perceived public resistance to the idea, unexpected technological limitations, or some change in strategy we can’t know – it could easily be a mix of all three.

Still, it’s a reminder that digital currency likely remains the long-term goal.

But well done to all awakened people who have contributed to halting the roll-out thus far.

“Coming Soon: The European Digital Identity Wallet”

https://off-guardian.org/2025/02/26/coming-soon-the-european-digital-identity-wallet/

by Kit Knightly

The elite are already running large-scale pilot schemes for the future they want and we don’t. They are not being subtle about this. They are not hiding it.

The plan is a single government-issued app that holds your medical records, employment records, travel records, education records, vaccination records, tax records, financial records as well as (potentially) copies of your signature, fingerprints, facial scans, voice samples and DNA.

All stored handily on your phone…and shared with the governments of nineteen countries (plus Ukraine) and over 140 other public and private partners. Everyone from Deutsche Bank to the Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Progress to Samsung Europe.

You will use this app to make payments, apply for loans, pay your taxes, pick up your prescriptions, cross international borders, start businesses, book doctor’s appointments, apply for jobs and even sign digital contracts online.

Businesses and government agencies would access this data from the back-end to conduct “automated background checks”.

The German Federation of Consumer Organizations (Verbraucherzentrale Bundesverband, VZBZ) has raised concerns that such an app would “pose privacy and data risks”, to which the only response is “duh, that’s what it’s for!”.

None of this a hypothetical, by the way. It’s Potential.

Just one of the pilot schemes “building prototypes and testing use-cases” for the European Digital Identity (EUDI) Wallet, there are three others at least.

This is the latest development in a roll-out dating back to the birth of Covid and beyond, with the EUID wallet being touted since 2021.

It was freshly brought to my attention a couple of days ago, when I stumbled on this article – Why Would You Need An “EU Wallet”? – by Anton Chashchin.

Chashchin is apparently chair of the fintech investment group N7, and his article is fairly good example of the kind of thing you can expect to see more widely in bigger mainstream outlets as we get closer to EUID’s full-scale implementation. It talks up the costs of fraud and how digital ID schemes will make everything so much safer and more efficient, but bemoans the “lack of harmonization” across borders and systems.

It’s standard stuff.

Interestingly, he also flags up that national-level digital ID schemes received a massive boost from the Covid “pandemic” [emphasis added]:

“in Belgium, the rapid adoption of itsme, the online identification system in 2021–2022, was fueled by a government mandate requiring a COVID-19 pass for restaurant visits. Itsme’s digital identity offered the most convenient way for consumers to obtain the pass, doubling the user base from 3 million to 6 million within a year. This demonstrates that consumer adoption follows when a service is needed and backed by government trust.”

He’s right. Covid started the digital ID/vaccine pass ball rolling, and it has lost momentum since then. So maybe what we really need to be on the lookout for is the next big “Reason”. A “catastrophic catalysing event”, to borrow a phrase.

What do you think they have planned to make people suddenly need a digital ID wallet?

I guess we’ll find out. . . .

“The Global Health Agenda: Psychological Manipulation and Harm”

https://www.globalresearch.ca/global-health-agenda-psychological-manipulation-harm/5881553

by  Dr. Mark Trozzi

A Deep Dive into the Impact of "Vaccines" and the Forces Which Have Been Pushing Them on the Population.

This is Part One of my January 2025 presentation in Ottawa. Although this event was planned with just 24 hours’ notice, the banquet hall was packed with a very loving and enlightened crowd. Ottawa may be home to Trudeau and other purveyors of deception, but the truth and freedom movement is stronger.

I arrived in Ottawa on January 20th, exhausted and unwell after an intense month. News of my visit reached the local truth and freedom leaders, resulting in a respectful invitation to speak for Citizens of Liberty. I accepted, but within hours, I developed profound laryngitis and was struggling to speak.

Thanks to an incredible local team, and the expert audio engineering of Vlad Tepes, we made it work—I whispered into the mic, and the event was a success. I hope you find these insights valuable.

A Global Psychological Operation

Over the past few years, humanity has been subjected to one of the most sophisticated psychological operations in history. The COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent push for mass “vaccination” were not just public health initiatives but a coordinated global effort to manipulate and control populations.

From the beginning, governments and health organizations employed psychological tactics to enforce compliance. Fear was the primary tool—citizens were bombarded with images of overflowing hospitals, dire warnings from officials, and relentless media campaigns. Those who questioned the narrative faced social ostracization, job loss, and censorship. Despite this, many individuals, including brave doctors and scientists, continued to push back, seeking truth and exposing the lies that were carefully orchestrated to maintain public obedience.

The Role of the WHO and the Global Agenda

The World Health Organization (WHO) played a crucial role in orchestrating the COVID-19 response. More than just an advisory body, the WHO acted as an enforcer of global compliance. Under its direction, lockdowns, mandates, and forced medical interventions became the norm worldwide. However, the WHO’s agenda goes beyond pandemic management—it also promotes gender ideology and the sexualization of children, revealing a broader framework of social engineering.

With the United States withdrawing from the WHO, a significant blow was dealt to this global entity. This exit marks a turning point in reclaiming national sovereignty over health policies and resisting external pressures to conform to harmful agendas. Many people now recognize the manipulation at play and are rejecting the imposed confusion.

The Devastating Impact of the “Vaccines”

The COVID-19 “vaccines” were introduced under the guise of public health, but their true impact has been catastrophic. Pfizer’s own documents list over 1,170 adverse effects associated with these injections, yet officials continued to push them as “safe and effective.”

These injections were never traditional vaccines. Unlike real vaccines that contain weakened or inactivated viruses to stimulate an immune response, these shots introduced modified genetic material into the body, instructing cells to produce a harmful spike protein. This mechanism alone poses severe risks, as it turns human cells into factories for a toxic foreign protein.

The use of lipid nanoparticles ensured that the mRNA payload could penetrate all tissues, including the brain, heart, reproductive organs, and even fetuses in pregnant women. There was no biological barrier to stop the spread of this material within the body. The consequences have been dire—numerous reports link these injections to cardiovascular diseases, neurological disorders, immune dysfunction, and even infertility.

“NO ONE EXPECTED! The Shocking European Parliament Showdown! Orbán Leaves Von der Leyen in TEARS”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QnruG3Y25_A

by VOC

(10:58)

Recent political tensions in Europe have once again ignited controversy. On March 11, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan held a press conference on U.S.-Ukraine relations, bringing renewed focus to Europe's fragile security landscape. Meanwhile, in the European Parliament, a heated confrontation unfolded as European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen accused Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán of aligning too closely with Russia and China. This incident has once again highlighted the deep ideological and strategic divides within the European Union.

Orbán, known for his defiant stance against Brussels, responded with diplomatic precision, refusing to bow to external pressure. His confrontation with EU leaders is not just a dispute over policies—it is a direct challenge to the very nature of European governance. Is the EU meant to foster cooperation, or has it become a tool for political coercion? This ongoing struggle raises fundamental questions about national sovereignty, democratic principles, and the balance of power within the European bloc.

Brussels has attempted to pressure Hungary through economic sanctions, freezing EU funds under the pretext of "violations of the rule of law." However, Orbán remains firm, arguing that Hungary’s national interests take precedence over EU directives. The most dramatic moment came in July 2024 when Orbán visited Moscow despite the EU’s harshest sanctions against Russia, prioritizing Hungary’s energy security over ideological conflicts. This bold move sparked outrage among European leaders, further deepening the political rift between Budapest and Brussels.

Beyond Hungary, the broader European political landscape is shifting. With the rise of nationalist and Euroskeptic movements across the continent, Orbán is no longer a lone voice. Italy’s Giorgia Meloni, Germany’s AfD, and France’s Marine Le Pen are all gaining momentum, challenging the EU’s centralized authority. As the EU faces growing internal opposition, the question remains: Can Brussels maintain its influence, or will Europe’s political order be redefined?

This video explores the ongoing clash between Orbán and the European Union, analyzing the stakes of this political struggle and the implications for the future of Europe. Will the EU enforce its vision of unity, or will member states assert their sovereignty against supranational control? The battle is far from over.

(22:10)

In this latest press conference on February 7, 2025, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov addresses key geopolitical issues, including French President Emmanuel Macron’s recent statement labeling Russia as a threat to Europe and his mention of potential nuclear action. Lavrov critiques Macron’s rhetoric, calling it dangerous and provocative, and suggests that such statements escalate tensions rather than contribute to stability. He also points out what he sees as Western double standards in diplomatic discussions about Ukraine. Additionally, Lavrov comments on the U.S. decision to suspend military aid to Ukraine until President Trump determines that Kyiv is committed to peace negotiations. He emphasizes Russia’s perspective on the situation, noting that Western actions continue to bypass Moscow while shaping Ukraine’s future. The discussion also covers Europe’s proposal to send peacekeeping forces to Ukraine, which Lavrov strongly opposes, viewing it as a direct NATO intervention.

·          0:00 How does Russia view the U.S. suspension of military aid to Ukraine and its potential resumption?

·         4:58 How does Russia assess Macron’s statement on the Russian threat and nuclear rhetoric?

·         15:36 Does Moscow still oppose sending peacekeepers to Ukraine, or is compromise possible?

Alex is the founder of Krainer Analytics and creator of I-System Trend Following. He has worked as a market analyst, researcher, trader and hedge fund manager since 1996. Alex was born and raised in a socialist regime of former Yugoslavia, under one-party communist rule. As a 17-year old he joined a student exchange program and took up his university studies there, ultimately transferring to Switzerland on a scholarship where he completed a degree in Business and Economics. From Switzerland his path led him to Venezuela where he lived for a year and experienced his first banking crisis in 1994 when 9 of Venezuela’s 16 largest banks failed and brought the country’s economy to a grinding halt. The same year he returned to Croatia and joined the military where he served through 1995 during the last phases of Croatia’s war of independence. In 1996, upon discharge from the military, Alex took employment at an oil trading company in Monaco. In 1998 he became the head of risk and CEO in 2000. Alex had originated the firm’s research and development program in market analysis and application of neural networks and artificial intelligence in trading of financial and commodities markets. By 2007 Alex launched his own investment management business and was among the small minority of managers who generated positive investment returns (+27%) during the 2008 financial crisis. Over the following six years, his fund outperformed the Dow Jones Credit Suisse index of Blue Chip commodity futures trading funds. In 2011 Alex Joined Lee Robinson’s Altana Wealth to manage the firm’s inflation hedging strategy. In 2019 Alex created Altana Wealth’s systematic portfolio allocation strategy designed to bridge the gap between technology and finance.

“Militarization is Killing the Collective West from Within”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3RTxKeoARfw&t=27s

by Neutrality Studies

(1:02:37)

Ursula von der Leyen just announced a lovely-sounding policy under which the block would "ReArm" and make 100s of billions of Euro's available for member states to militarise to their teeth. With no plan on why this is necessary or how it should be achieved, numerical spending goals on militarisation is another absolut fully that will end in a complete meltdown if it is not stopped in time. But the chances for that are slim, as Europe constantly learns the wrong lessons from its own history.

But that begs the question: Why is there always money for military spending and never for social well-being? How are the warmongers constantly disenfranchising their own populations for the benefit of the Euro-Atlantic Military Industrial Complex?

To discuss this, I’m talking today to two fantastic colleagues who have both been on this channel before but not together yet. I’ve got with me Dr. Jan Oberg from Sweden and Professor David Gibbs from Arizona State University in the USA.

While Jan Oberg has been working a life-time on peace research and is an outspoken critic of militarism, Dr. Gibbs, who’s a historian, is now working on a new project he calls “Guns, Butter, and the Politics of Permanent War”.

I thought the two are probably great conversation partners so here we are to discuss this topic: How there always seems to be money for war, but not for social spending. A very topical issue considering that the EU just announced more funding for weapons, presumably by cutting back on social spending.

On November 22, 1963, President Kennedy was fatally shot while riding in an open-top limousine through Dallas, Texas. The nation was left in shock as news of the tragic event spread quickly, and questions about the circumstances surrounding his death began to emerge immediately. “Why the Need for Revolution Has Increased, But Must be Understood in a New and Wider Context”

https://www.globalresearch.ca/need-revolution-understood-new-wider-context/5881770

by Bharat Dogra

Historically, revolution as an inspirational concept has been based on an understanding, firstly, that in any place and time the extent of distress caused by man-made factors is intolerably high; secondly, that isolated small efforts are not adequate and more systemic change is needed to reduce significantly the intensity as well as the causes of distress; and thirdly, that it is possible for human beings to bring such big and systemic change.

It is now being said frequently that the world has changed in such ways that the concept of revolution is no longer relevant and has become outdated. The reality however is that the pressing need for revolution has actually increased in present times.

The word revolution has been used in many different ways, and sometimes it has been deliberately distorted to cause confusion. Hence it is important at the outset to state what exactly we mean by revolution. Revolution is discussed here mainly as a concept that inspires people, particularly the young, by conveying the basic idea that by making some very significant changes in a country or region or world it is possible to create in basic ways a more satisfactory, happier, more justice-based and safer world that would be free from the most of the avoidable injustices, distresses, discontents and high risks of the present situation.

Thus there are three components of the concept of revolution. Firstly, there is a clear recognition that there are very serious problems, injustices, inequities and distortions in the existing systems that result in avoidable massive distress and intolerably high risks. Secondly, it is possible to think of different systems in which most of these distortions and problems as well as the high levels of distress and risks these create can be avoided. Thirdly, it is possible for humanity to work for such basic changes at the level of a region, country or the world.

When some human beings live their life in conformity with such an understanding, in terms of their thinking, actions, work and living, striving most of the time to increase their understanding as well as to live their life in accordance with this, despite all limitations and problems, then they can deservedly be called revolutionaries.

They should be distinguished from reformists. While the reformists also try to reduce risks, injustice and distress, they do not have the wide vision that the revolutionaries have of wider and deeper changes. Hence the reformists are quite content generally with achieving limited gains, ignoring the reality that if the more basic causes of distress are not checked, if the wider forces at work are not confronted, then distress will continue to increase in other ways. Nevertheless reformists are also able to make many contributions because it is easier to work as reformists and many more people are able to work in this limited way.

READ MORE : New Year Thoughts—What the World Needs in 2025 and Beyond

Many reformists are nice and sincere persons. Therefore instead of being hostile towards sincere and honest reformists the revolutionaries should appreciate the limited contributions they make, have friendship with them and try to convince at least some of them to have the much broader vision of the revolutionaries. In fact keeping in view the much bigger difficulties in implementing some of the ideas of revolutionaries, quite often they too are involved in milder reformist tasks, and their distinguishing feature is that even in such situations and times they keep intact their vision of wider and deeper change, and keep trying for this in whatever ways they can.

“Technocracy Rising – Part 1: Why It’s Crucial to Understand the End Game”

https://off-guardian.org/2024/12/05/technocracy-rising-part-1-why-its-crucial-to-understand-the-end-game/

by Jesse Smith

Major shake-ups are occurring across the global stage. History is replete with examples of breaks with the past from major political, economic, technological, and social upheaval.

Throughout the ages, many self-serving individuals and groups have positioned themselves as rulers, financiers, benefactors, and thought leaders to steer change toward preferred outcomes. From the Pharaohs of Ancient Egypt to the Jacobin and Napoleon-led French Revolution in the late 18th century, societal transformation has been constant as one form of government replaces another.

We have now arrived at yet another historical inflection point. The desire for political and economic reconstruction is being demanded globally as the gap between the ultra-wealthy and everyone else continues to accelerate.

In recent years, populism has taken flight by inspiring the masses to reject the rule of “the elite” and chart a new course. However, without scrutiny, this movement and its key figures could be just as dangerous as the establishment they are attempting to usurp. In fact, what we are witnessing is not populism in its truest sense but techno-populism or technocracy, as it has been called since its inception in 1920.

“ Technocracy originated in the winter of 1918-19 when Howard Scott formed a group of scientists, engineers, and economists that became known in 1920 as the Technical Alliance — a research organization. In 1933 it was incorporated under the laws of the State of New York as a nonprofit, non-political, non-sectarian membership organization.”

    --The Technocrat, Dec. 1964

WHAT IS TECNOCRACY?

Historically, technocracy has not been well received. In fact, many who accurately comprehended its goals viewed it as a threat to democracy and the debt-based economic order run by the central banking establishment that has dominated the last century. Technocrats railed against this “Price System,” arguing it alone was to blame for the inequalities and inefficiencies of society. There is definitely some truth to their claims.

“Under the Price System at its best there is not a single field of endeavor where the best technical standards are allowed to prevail. In other words, poverty, waste, crime, poor public health, bad living conditions, enforced scarcity, and low load-factors, are every one the direct and necessary consequences of the Price System… What we have tried to make clear is that it is the Price System itself, and not the individual human being, which is at fault.”

--Technocracy Study Course, Technocracy Inc. 1933, p.176

Technocracy can be defined simply as an impersonal and scientific method of managing all aspects of a society. Its primary concerns deal with how energy is produced and used. But it goes much deeper than this. One of the best explanations can be found in an issue of The Technocrat magazine from September 1937, where it states:

Technocracy is the science of social engineering, the scientific operation of the entire social mechanism to produce and distribute goods and services to the entire population of this continent. For the first time in human history it will be done as a scientific, technical, engineering problem. There will be no place for Politics or Politicians, Finance or Financeers, Rackets or Racketeers.”

The technocratic dream is revolutionary in scope, envisioning a total reorganization of industry, government, and law and order. They readily admit their intent is to socially engineer all of society, seize control of the production and distribution of all goods and services, and rid the world of rule by politicians and (traditional) financial controllers.

“Does Israel have a future?”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_uJ4kiUtB4

with Ilan Pappé

(51:36)

The Israeli Jewish public consistently supported the genocide in Gaza by large margins, according to opinion polls. But in recent months things started to shift. An overwhelming majority now say they support the ceasefire and prisoner exchange deal that went into effect in January.

Earlier this month, the Israel Democracy Institute published a poll which found that 66 percent of Israeli Jews agree that “Israel should proceed to the second stage, which includes a complete end to fighting, withdrawal from Gaza and the release of Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the release of all the hostages.”

And another poll, published by the Lazar institute at the end of January, found that only four percent of Israelis believe that the goals of the war in Gaza were met.

“The Terrifying Militarization of Europe”

European

https://www.globalresearch.ca/terrifying-militarization-europe/5881505

by Marc Vandepitte

European leaders want to drastically increase defense spending and prepare their economies for war. There are plans to introduce (for now) voluntary conscription and to install a nuclear shield. Several countries are willing to send troops to Russia’s neighboring countries, including Ukraine.

Boris Pistorius, the former German Minister of Defense, has declared that his country will be “ready for war” (Kriegstüchtigkeit) by 2029. The hatchet has been dug up.

“We have been betrayed by Trump and are threatened by Putin; therefore, we must increase our military efforts and prepare for war.”

This is the narrative that the European elite presents to us and that is widely spread in the mainstream media.

However, this narrative conceals the true reasons and underlying causes of this war fever.

Decline.

The militarization of Europe is taking place within the context of a broader economic crisis. Since the financial crisis of 2008, the European economy has struggled to find new growth paths. The COVID-19 crisis delivered a heavy blow to the economy, and because of the economic sanctions against Russia, we have forfeited our access to cheap energy.

Due to an obsession with austerity, governments have neglected sectors necessary for productivity development, such as education and science. Meanwhile, financial oligarchs have not sufficiently invested their monopoly profits in new technologies to keep up with competition from the U.S. and China.

As a result, Europe is lagging behind other parts of the world, both technologically and economically.

Geopolitically, things are not going well either. Europe and the U.S. have failed both to turn Russia into a semi-colony after the fall of the Soviet Union and to bring about a capitalist regime change in China.

The West hoped that by allowing China into the World Trade Organization and investing heavily in the country, capitalist forces would grow so strong that they would eventually take power from the Communist Party. That was wishful thinking.

By slavishly following the U.S., Europe failed to construct a balanced security structure after the fall of the Soviet Union, one that also included Russia.

Now, both Russia and China have become formidable opponents which cannot be trifled with.

Particularly under China’s influence, countries in the Global South are also forming an increasing counterweight to the dominance of the North through BRICS.

The Ukrainian government has agreed to a US-proposed 30-day ceasefire with Russia, contingent upon Russia's acceptance, after talks in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. The talks come amidst a flurry of military activity in the conflict, including Russian troops retaking most of the Kursk region and Ukraine attacking suburban areas of Moscow with a mass drone assault.

Now Moscow must decide whether to accept the ceasefire proposal or risk further deterioration in relations with the US.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that Moscow agrees "in principle" with the U.S.-proposed 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine but insists on key conditions. He emphasised the need for direct discussions with U.S. President Donald Trump and raised concerns about how Ukraine might use the truce. Putin also referenced the encirclement of Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region, questioning whether they would surrender or regroup during the ceasefire.

“Ukraine, Diplomacy and War”

https://www.globalresearch.ca/ukraine-diplomacy-war-craig-murray/5881510

with Craig Murray

When politicians in power are extremely unpopular, they generally turn to militarism and jingoism for a quick boost. Starmer is now the darling of the UK media for his sabre-rattling over Ukraine and is busily churning out tweets of military imagery.

In doing so he is attempting to pose as in defiance of Trump, and capitalise on Trump’s unpopularity in the UK, even though just two days earlier he was fawning on Trump in the White House and inviting him on an “unprecedented” second State visit.

As ever, there is a great deal of smoke and mirrors here. The European leaders are going to come up with an alternative “peace plan” to present to Trump. This will not be along the lines of the G7 Declaration which was strongly anti-Russian. The European leaders acknowledge that the Biden-era G7 Apulia position is now gone.

Instead the new European plan will essentially give Trump pretty well everything he wants, but give the Europeans a ladder to climb down. Starmer is seeking to be hailed as the great bridger of the Atlantic, who explained Trump to Europe and vice versa.

If Trump were an ordinary politician he would then agree to adopt the “European” plan brought to him by Starmer, with a couple of tiny amendments, and then take the joint position into talks with Putin. But Trump being Trump, he might just tell Starmer to stay out of it.

Both the European and American peace plans will involve Putin keeping control over the large majority of the land his troops hold – because otherwise Putin will not agree, and there will be no point. The European plan will have elements designed to blur the sovereignty issue of the Ukrainian land Russia will retain. This will not run once real negotiations with Russia are underway.

As always, money talks and big business is really pulling the strings. Zelensky did not in the event sign the minerals deal with Trump and is now desperate to do so to try to get American cash flowing his way again.

It is worth noting that Starmer’s delusional “Hundred Year Alliance” agreement with Zelensky contained the UK’s attempt to grab the same minerals Zelensky is now asking again to be allowed to hand over to Trump.

You find this in the UK/Ukraine 100 Year Partnership at “Pillar 5, Para 3, article iv”

(iv) supporting development of a Ukrainian critical minerals strategy and necessary regulatory structures required to support the maximisation of benefits from Ukraine’s natural resources, through the possible establishment of a Joint Working Group;

--Europe: A Spectre of Irrelevance. Prof. Yakov Rabkin

While we are on the subject, most people sensibly ignored the detail of this crazy “100 year” agreement on the entirely sensible grounds that none of it is ever going to happen. But it does contain some remarkable declarations of malevolent intent, of which my favourite is the desire to open a joint online propaganda unit to interfere in the legacy and social media of third countries.

Which we find outlined in fluent Orwellian at “Pillar 7, Para 4”.

Implement joint media initiatives, contributing to coordinated efforts to promote shared values and vision, addressing the information manipulation and malign interference in third party countries. We commit to partnering on joint initiatives such as communication campaigns to mitigate against those threats. We commit to facilitate strengthening of relationships with civil society organisations to support research and the development of counter-FIMI approaches, recognising the importance of independent media and civil society organisations in building societal resilience.

Which is of course precisely what they are always accusing Russia of doing. Indeed alleged Russian social media interference is why they interfered to have the anti-war winner of the first round of the Romanian elections disqualified.

What this plan amounts to is another Integrity Initiative, this time as a UK/Ukrainian co-production.

One thing I learnt in over 20 years as a diplomat is that the public are generally fed lies about diplomatic discussions. Most diplomatic talks generally end up with an agreed communique that is designed to make everyone look good and may only have a slight link to actual events.

This is especially true with regard to human rights, where in my substantial experience claims that human rights abuses were being dealt with by “quiet diplomacy” were almost always a lie.

A British minister cannot meet a Saudi or Chinese minister without being asked if they raised human rights. The answer given is always “yes” and it is almost always untrue, or it was raised so briefly, quietly and apologetically that it is virtually untrue.

So there is a sense in which the Trump/Vance encounter in the Oval Office with Zelensky was refreshing, in that what you saw is what you got. It was only in being in public that it was more bruising than many diplomatic encounters. I suspect it has shortened the war, especially if Trump sticks to the decision to end aid.

Shortening the war would be a good thing. If you think a principle is so important that you believe it is fine for millions of people to die for it – none of whom are yourself – I suggest you reconsider your principles. I am not so exercised about who is the mayor of Russian-speaking Lugansk that I am prepared to have a nuclear war over the issue.

What I find particularly alarming is the continuing comparison of Putin to Hitler, and the allegation that if Putin is not “stopped” in Ukraine, then he will conquer the whole of Europe.

This is a quite extraordinary example of false analogy. Putin has never shown any indication of following a universal ideology he wishes to impose by conquest, or of territorial ambition beyond a small number of Russian-speaking ex-Soviet districts contiguous to Russia.

In addition to which, Russia is gradually winning a war of attrition against a much smaller neighbour, which is to be expected. Ukraine has survived this long with massive Western aid. But the idea that the Russian army is capable of conquering the whole of Europe, when it cannot subdue Kiev, is plainly utter nonsense. Even aside from the fact there is absolutely no desire in Moscow to do so.

Trump has pointed at NATO and revealed the Emperor’s New Clothes. NATO was formed to counter a Soviet alliance that did possess a universal ideology it wished to spread, and did have the military strength to threaten (though it should be stated not even the Soviet Union ever had any intention of invading Britain or formulated plans to do so). That threat has now passed.

The attempt to use the farcical Salisbury incident as evidence of a Russian threat to the UK population is, frankly, pathetic.

It is hard sometimes to follow the workings of the propaganda machine. At what stage did the crazy narrative that Russia blew up its own Nord Stream pipeline get abandoned?

Russia destroying the pipeline was unanimously and loudly proclaimed by the entire legacy media and the entire political class of the Western world. Those of us who pointed out this was not true were denounced and ridiculed. Yet now the narrative has quietly been dropped, and the truth is occasionally acknowledged by the media. Though with no admission of the previous lies.

How does this cycle operate? Is it centrally determined, or is it organic? Were the media really stupid enough to believe Russia destroyed Nord Stream, or were they knowingly lying? How have the German people been persuaded to accept the massive damage the increase in energy costs did to industrial employment? These are fascinating fields of study.

European politicians who have made a career of Russophobe rhetoric are suddenly naked in the breeze. They are charging around banging the drum of war, threatening to mobilise armies they do not possess and convinced that preserving their own place in the socio-economic hierarchy is well worth the threat of nuclear oblivion.

Laughter is the best response to their pretension. . . .

“Macron Warns of “New Era” as US Aligns With Russia, Offers French Nuclear French Nuclear Umbrella Amid Ukraine War”

(9:22)

French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday (March 5) announced he would discuss extending France's nuclear deterrent to European partners and raised the possibility of sending European troops to Ukraine to enforce a peace deal, as Europe scrambles to respond to Donald Trump's upending of the transatlantic alliance.

In an address to the nation, Macron said that the French were "legitimately worried" about the start of a "new era" after Trump began his second stint in the White House by reversing US policy on Ukraine and risking a historic rupture with Europe.

"I want to believe that the United States will stay by our side but we have to be prepared for that not to be the case," he said bluntly. "The future of Europe does not have to be decided in Washington or Moscow," he added.

Trump has made clear his desire to swiftly end the war caused by Russia's 2022 full-scale invasion of Ukraine through direct negotiations with Moscow.

But Macron offered a stark picture of Russia's aggressive behaviour, which he said does "not seem to know borders" after its invasion of Ukraine.

“Trump Plans to Make Ukraine a US Economic Colony, Exploiting Its Critical Minerals”

https://scheerpost.com/2025/03/05/trump-plans-to-make-ukraine-a-us-economic-colony-exploiting-its-critical-minerals/

by Ben Norton

(36:41)

The fight that broke out in the White House between US President Donald Trump and Ukraine’s leader, Volodymyr Zelensky, on February 28 was a stark symbol of the colonial relationship between the two countries.

“You’re in no position to dictate”, Trump yelled at Zelensky in the Oval Office. “You don’t have the cards right now. With us, you start having cards”.

The Trump administration has sought to impose an exploitative deal that will “make Ukraine a US economic colony”, in the words of the conservative British newspaper The Telegraph.

Trump is demanding control over Ukraine’s minerals, and plans to use revenue from the sale of its natural resources to pay the United States hundreds of billions of dollars, equivalent to roughly twice Ukraine’s GDP.

The US government believes that Ukraine could have trillions of dollars worth of rare earth elements and other critical minerals, which are needed for advanced technologies.

Trump wants to re-industrialize the United States, and he is offering corporations access to Ukraine’s resources to make their products.

This is part of Washington’s attempt to remove China from the supply chain for critical minerals, which has been a top priority of the Pentagon and the US House select committee on the Communist Party of China.

The Telegraph reported that Ukraine’s resources could be worth $15 trillion, writing that its “minerals offer a tantalising promise: the ability for the US to break its dependence on Chinese supplies of critical minerals that go into everything from wind turbines to iPhones and stealth fighter jets”.

Trump has stated that he wants to “un-unite” Russia and China, and his efforts to end the war in Ukraine also aim at splitting Moscow from Beijing.

Trump demands Ukraine pay the US twice its GDP.  .  .  .

(1:33:49)

In a 21 February speech in the European Parliament, renowned professor Jeffrey Sachs said, ‘When the Soviet Union ended in 1991, the view became even more exaggerated. The view was that we [the US] run the show. We will clean up from the former Soviet Union. We will take out any remaining Soviet-era allies. Countries like Iraq, Syria, and so forth will go. And we’ve been experiencing this foreign policy for essentially 33 years. Europe has paid a heavy price for this because Europe has not had any foreign policy during this period. No voice, no unity, no clarity, no European interests, only American loyalty.’

He added that the European Union should be the main trading partner of Russia. ‘Europe and Russia have complementary economies. The fit for mutually beneficial trade is very strong. The Trump administration is imperialist at heart. Trump obviously believes that the great powers dominate the world. The US will be ruthless and cynical, and yes, also vis-à-vis Europe. Don’t go begging to Washington. That won’t help. Instead, have a true and independent European foreign policy.’

“In memory of all those NOT remembered in the latest Oscars' ‘In Memoriam’”

https://markcrispinmiller.substack.com/p/in-memory-of-all-those-not-remembered-in-the-latest-oscars?utm_source=post-email-title&publication_id=383085&post_id=158797389&utm_campaign=email-post-title&isFreemail=true&r=1ceedo&triedRedirect=true&utm_medium=email

by Mark Crispin Miller

Countless viewers were outraged that the Academy had "snubbed" so many who deserved to be included; but what they called a "snub" was actually an ongoing COVER-UP of the true toll of "vaccination"

Here—for the fourth year in a row—I note how many big names were among those missing from the “In Memoriam” segment of the recent Oscars. Such stars as Alain Delon, Mitzi Gaynor, Michelle Trachtenberg, Tony Roberts, Chance Perdomo, Richard Lewis and James Darren (just to name a few) were left out of the eulogy, which, although unusually tasteful (the orchestra played Mozart’s Requiem), was also tastelessly selective, as many viewers reportedly complained.

The segment did include, along with David Lynch, Donald Sutherland, Kris Kristofferson, Gena Rowlands, Lew Gossett, Albert Ruddy, Robert Towne, Anouk Aimee and Teri Garr, such lesser figures as assistant director Adam Somner, publicist Fumi Kitahara and exhibitor Robert Laemmle. Of course, the industry depends on such backstage personnel, and so there’s nothing wrong with bidding them farewell—or, rather, ordinarily there would be nothing wrong with it, if the Academy had not also excluded (say) Shannen Doherty, Tony Todd, Linda Lavin, Richard Lewis, Olivia Hussey, Morgan Spurlock and Martin Mull.

Thus it would seem that the Academy was trying to obscure the startling toll of you-know-what in Hollywood last year—just as they did in 2024, 2023 and 2022. Throughout those years we’ve seen the same thing happen at the Emmys and the Grammys, so that it’s now become a (seeming) normal thing for those shows to be followed by complaints all over “social media” by viewers aggrieved that certain of their favorite stars were “snubbed,” and “news” outlets reporting those complaints.

But it’s not “normal” in the least—on the contrary:

by Mark Crispin Miller

Just as Trump must share the blame for this unparalleled crime against the rest of us (even if he didn't wear a mask, and boldly "touted" HCL), so must Fox, no less than any "liberal" network.

Recently I got an email from a reader wondering what we (that is, my team and I) think really happened to Gene Hackman and Betsy Arakawa. Were they jabbed, she asked, “to keep up with the other Democrats”?

While we believe the jab did, more than likely, play a key role in that macabre outcome—Betsy was reportedly a staunch Covidian, who would certainly have craved injection for the both of them, repeatedly—the question needs a fuller answer, to refute the notion that the “vax” craze has swept only “Democrats” away.

Close readers of our weekly compilations, and the related surveys of “nonfatal” illnesses among celebrities, will know that the COVID bioweapon has struck down “red” and “blue” alike: the broken Mitch McConnell, Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) and Rep. Jackie Walorski (R-IN), who perished in a flagrant “vaccident” caused by a jabbed staffer, are just a few of the congressional Republicans who got the shot. (If there are any who did not, I’d like to know.) Nationwide, we’ve seen the same among Republican state legislators and officials; and then there’s the inordinately high rate of “sudden deaths” throughout the state of Texas, as several of our readers have observed.

And so, in this regard (as in so many others), the right has proven to be little different from “the left”; and to claim otherwise is to engage in wishful thinking, and to underestimate the evil brilliance of the COVID propaganda.

“Excess Deaths in Young Adults”

(16:33, with transcript)

Mortality Trends Among Early Adults in the United States, 1999-2023

https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama...

US population groups, ages 25-44 years, 1999 – 2023

All cause mortality

Other natural causes of death

·         Transport

·         Alcohol related

·         Homicide

·         Endocrine, nutrition, metabolic

·         Digestive

·         Circulatory

·         Cancers

Mutually exclusive underlying cause-of-death categories were adapted from prior work

Used baseline of 1999 to 2010, to project expected mortality trends for 2011 to 2023.

We analyzed 3, 392, 364 deaths among the full US population aged 25-44 years from 1999 to 2023.

In 2021, all-cause excess mortality was nearly 3 times what it had been in 2019 (116.2 vs 41.7 deaths per 100 000 population).

In 2023, excess mortality decreased to79.1 deaths per 100 000 population.

Early adult mortality was 70.0% higher in 2023 than it would have been had pre-2011 trends continued, reflecting 71, 124 excess deaths.

Although mortality rates decreased after the core pandemic years, excess mortality remained higher than expected based on prepandemic levels.

Increases in early adult mortality can signal population risks that may become more pronounced as these cohorts age.

These results suggest the possibility of a worsening mortality crisis unless these trends are reversed.

The 2 distinct phases of increasing mortality (before and after 2020) may also suggest the need to attend to ongoing consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, causes of death related to long-term consequences of infection, medical disruption, and social dislocation—and to deleterious health trends that predated it.

As someone who has pioneered the political discourse around industrial seed oils and their ill-effects on daily broadcast radio, I have counted Tucker Goodrich as an invaluable research ally and good friend along the way. With the rise of RFK Jr to HHS and Steak n Shake tallow fries, we have come quite far from the days when people looked at us befuddled when we mentioned the word “seed oils,” but there is much work to be done.

I have asked Tucker to provide the science for how seed oils are driving cardiovascular disease. As a main driver of poor health and medical costs in this nation, we must address this disease head on regardless of our preconceived notions and food and pharma industry-supported groupthink.

You do not have to defend it. Set it free and it will defend itself.”

What we discovered was nothing short of staggering. We listened to harrowing accounts of COVID hospital protocols that shook us to our very core. The consistency of these stories was alarming.

People also shared their experiences after taking the COVID-19 vaccine, revealing tragic outcomes of either death or serious injury. Now, fueled by these powerful firsthand testimonies, we are creating a documentary by the people, for the people.

Learn what we uncovered on the road. You can’t afford to miss it.
