Dear Colleagues and Friends of CEIMSA,
The multiple crises which we are now facing may seem daunting, but the history of political economies has much to teach us. We are confronted with many unknowns, and being aware of this collective condition that we have inherited offers us some hope for positive change in which we are able to participate proactively.
Money is one form of political power; another is consciousness: remaining truthful with ourselves is a force that can be crystallized into the materialization of our authentic desires and into a movement to satisfy these needs; while, on the other hand, self-deception is an entropic state which leads toward collapse.
Borrowing from physics, we can understand the complexities of social histories during the rise and fall of civilizations, when the interests of a small class of rulers fail to receive the support necessary to prevail and so vanish into a general uncertainty. They are sometimes replaced by the interests of organic leaders, whose authentic origins place them in trusted positions of political power for the class they wish to represent.
The 15+ items below are essays and articles taken from the critical Anglophone social media, many of which identify fundamental causes of the crises we are now witnessing. These discussions contain valuable historical knowledge and reflect our concern for the destructive stratification of societies that has brought us to this impasse. Our own social history, and our capacity for self-criticism and truthfulness in the face of ahistorical bullying and rapport de force relationships, can provide us with a strategic understanding of who we are and the direction we want to go for the benefit of ourselves and for positive qualitative changes in the society of which we are a part.
The entropy of tribal violence and blatant inhumanity that we are experiencing today, will serve as important lessons to prepare us for our full participation in a truly democratic future.
We’ve now seen the alternative, and we reject it.
Sincerely,
Francis McCollum Feeley

“The Tariff War: First Step Towards a Slave Society. Emanuel Pastreich”

https://www.globalresearch.ca/tariff-war-first-step-slave-society/5883995
by Emanuel Pastreich
Mainstream, alternative, and conspiracy media have basically got the whole tariff war wrong, and done so on purpose.
Basically, all of the mainstream media, and most of the alternative media, and even the conspiracy media, is getting the whole tariff war story completely wrong, and doing so intentionally.
There is nothing stupid about what the Trump administration is doing and the tariff wars are not the result of the miscalculations of Peter Navarro or Scott Bessent.
The imposition of these tariffs will cause damage to the economies off all nations of the world. It is best seen as an effort by a handful of elites in the US, and globally, to destroy the entire global trade system, and with it the global economy. They will do so because they think they, a tiny handful of families, will benefit.
They start this war smaller nations like Vietnam that lack economic scale and technological sophistication, and whose government officials can be easily bribed and intimidated. They intend to destroy these nations completely and make them into virtual slave states.
The only real solution will not be discussed by any of the media which is controlled by the bankers and private equity at some level. The solution is to start growing all food at home, very locally, generated electricity from local windmills and water mills, move to a society that values frugality and durability, making things locally that last for a hundred years, tossing out fashion and consumption culture, and rejecting the false and bankrupt ideology of consumption and growth. That means throwing the false science of economics in the ash bin of history. It also means creating societies that do not assume that technology is the solution to social problems, or even a necessity for advancement of civilization.
But it will require an immense amount of suffering before people start to accept that solution. And that is what we will get.
The elites, even in the nations now being reduced to poverty, cannot take any steps that suggest that global trade is not necessary, that food should be produced locally, that manufacturing should be controlled by local cooperatives and never handed over to multinational corporations—or that many technologies, from AI to 5G, are dangerous, destructive for the human mind, and create a passive, decadent and foolish population incapable independence.
If you want to understand what the tariffs are really about, just remember what happened during the Covid reign of terror. Airlines, airports, hotels, restaurants, and much of the economy for the largest nations were shut down for social distancing and lockdowns—and shut down for years. That meant hundreds of billions in losses for Fortune 500 companies who have lobbyists and operatives at the highest levels in all the major governments. It meant billions of losses for very rich people to support a bogus pandemic.
READ MORE: Action Against the Super-rich Demands a “Reevaluation of the Revolutionary Tradition”
How could those big players, including people with hundreds of millions, even billions, in assets, be forced to go along with an obvious fraud that cost them that much money for so long?
The question is not easy to answer, but I think we know the contours. The radical concentration of wealth over the last 15 years, around the world, had created an environment in which we have a virtual slave society (granted many do not know they are slaves yet), and in which a tiny handful of multi-billionaires (who control indirectly trillions in assets) run the entire show. Those guys look at the CEOs at Fortune 500 companies as little cockroaches. They launched the Covid reign of terror to destroy all the little guys, including the “little” pesky multinational corporations that get in their way.
As far as they are concerned, everyone can buy from Amazon and Wal-Mart. The rest can go to hell.
Those super-rich own money. That is not to say they own a lot of money, but rather that they own the entire global system through which formal signifiers of value are created. So losing money is not a big concern for them.
This time too, just like under the Covid regime, they could not care less if Fortune 500 companies go bankrupt, or if even people with tens of millions in assets are crushed. This new economy is what I describe in my essay “the terrarium economy.”As far as this handful of super-rich families are concerned, destroying the entire global economy is a great idea.
They may be wrong, of course, but they will be wrong only if those who oppose them are able to organize a systematic resistance that is brave and disciplined and that takes them on, not the puppets like Trump and Musk that they wind up and send out as decoys. Such a real resistance must seize control of the economic system itself on a global scale.
These billionaires are doling out money to all the alternative and conspiracy theorists to make sure none of them actually start organizing people into highly trained and disciplined groups, and that no one really grasps what the real plan is. The alternative and conspiracy media has degenerated into big stupid distraction these days.

“Prof John Mearsheimer: Trade Tensions Explode Trump v. China”
https://www.youtube.com/live/aOhj5INOQr8
by Deep Dive, with Daniel Davis
(53:41)
Trump’s Tariff Response: Trump imposed 104% tariffs on China, emphasizing his strategy of retaliating aggressively when challenged. He believes China wants to make a deal but doesn’t know how to start negotiations. Trump is open to negotiations and claims he will be “gracious” if China reaches out. China’s Reaction: In response, China imposed 84% tariffs on the U.S., signaling they will not be intimidated and are ready to push back hard.
Expert Commentary (Prof. John Mearsheimer): China and other nations (Russia, Iran, North Korea) understand Trump only respects toughness. The current situation is a classic case of hardball diplomacy, with both sides posturing strongly.
Strategic View: Trump sees short-term economic pain as necessary for long-term gain:
Absolute gain: Rebuilding U.S. manufacturing will benefit America economically.
Relative gain: China will be hurt more, shifting the power balance in favor of the U.S. Skepticism from Economists: Most economists see these tariffs as a "boneheaded" move, likely to hurt the global economy and disrupt trade without clear benefits.
Long-Term Uncertainty: The true effects of these tariffs are unpredictable, similar to how sanctions on Russia didn’t have the intended effect.
Diplomatic Repercussions: Trump's aggressive, transactional approach undermines trust in U.S. reliability as a partner. Allies in East and Southeast Asia (e.g., South Korea, Vietnam) may begin to reassess their ties with the U.S.
Vietnam Case Study: Vietnam, heavily reliant on U.S. trade, is panicked by the tariffs despite being eager to cooperate. Damaging economic ties with Vietnam may also undermine important security alliances in the region.
John Bolton’s View: Bolton criticizes Trump for eroding decades of international trust and says this creates an opening for China. The issue isn’t just economic—it’s about the U.S. losing its reputation as a reliable global leader.
Final Thoughts: The consensus is that while Trump’s approach may yield some leverage, the cost to U.S. credibility and alliances could be profound and lasting.

Some of Donald Trump’s most prominent billionaire backers have begun sounding the alarm on the tariffs that have roiled markets. JP Morgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon warned they could have lasting negative consequences and impact America's long-term economic alliances and the global economy.
Meanwhile, hedge fund manager Bill Ackman, who endorsed Donald Trump's run for president, warned the country was "heading for a self-induced, economic nuclear winter,” and said business leaders were losing confidence in Trump. Even Elon Musk has expressed reservations about whether the tariffs are all that advisable.

“Bomb Cyclones and Atmospheric Rivers: Is Someone Messing with the Weather?”

https://www.globalresearch.ca/bomb-cyclones-atmospheric-rivers-someone-messing-weather/5804879
by F. William Engdahl
[First published on January 17, 2023, this outstanding text by F. William Engdahl provides an understanding of weather modification techniques.
In recent months [2023] the world is hearing unusual terms to describe extreme weather events. Now terms like Bomb Cyclone or Atmospheric Rivers are used in the daily TV weather reports to describe dumping of record volumes of rain or snow in regions of the world in an extremely destructive way. The Green Mafia claims, without a shred of factual proof, that it is all because of man’s too-large “carbon footprint.” They use it as an excuse to double down on phasing out oil, gas, coal as well as nuclear energy in favor of unworkable, taxpayer-subsidized “green energy”– unreliable wind or solar. Could it be that these freak weather calamities are indeed “manmade,” but not from CO2 emissions?
Since late December, especially the United States has undergone severe weather events from the Bomb Cyclone storm that buried much of the East Coast in record snow from Buffalo down as far as Florida. At the same time the US West Coast from Washington State down the coast of California has undergone extreme flooding from wave after wave of so-called Oceanic Rivers carrying huge volumes of water from the Pacific causing severe flooding. Without presenting any scientific proof, green ideologues have claimed it is all due to manmade global warming– now called “climate change” to confuse the original issue– and argue for accelerated transition to a dystopian carbon free world.
A serious case can be made that it could well be manmade. But not because of too much CO2 or other manmade greenhouse gas emissions. It could be due to deliberate and malicious manipulation of our major weather patterns.
Geoengineering? . . . .

“Evolution of NATO Aggression Against the World – From Serbia to Russia”

https://www.globalresearch.ca/evolution-nato-aggression-serbia-russia/5883790
by Drago Bosnic
March 24 this year marked 26 years since NATO launched a direct attack on the remnants of former Yugoslavia (namely Serbia and Montenegro). The bombing was the final act of kinetic warfare that started in 1991 when the political West ensured that Yugoslavia falls apart in a sea of blood. By 1999, they had already carved up most of the country, while also helping their WWII-era allies (namely Croatians and Bosnian Muslims) to finish the genocide against Serbs in what today is Croatia and Bosnia.
In the case of the former, they were successful, eliminating the Republic of Serbian Krajina which was annexed by Croatia, but in the case of the latter this proved to be far more difficult, although the territory of Republika Srpska was reduced from close to 70% of what today is Bosnia to around 49%.
However, NATO was far from done. There was still Serbia, then part of the rump Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (along with Montenegro). Its southern province of Kosovo and Metohia had a large Albanian population which became the majority after centuries of Ottoman occupation, forced Islamization (similar to what happened in Bosnia and elsewhere in former Yugoslavia) and expulsion of native Serb Christians.
Image: Uniform and Badge of Kosovo Liberation Army, Military Museum, Belgrade (Licensed under CC BY-SA 2.0)
In order to justify yet another attack on Serbs, NATO needed a “humanitarian” excuse. By 1998, Western intelligence agencies organized a terrorist group called the KLA (Kosovo Liberation Army) which started to attack the Serbian police and Yugoslav Army (VJ), while also kidnapping civilians of Serb and other ethnicities (including loyalist Albanians who refused to take part in this terrorist insurgency).
Both the members of security forces and civilians were subjected to brutal torture (including organ harvesting) and executions. NATO knew perfectly well that this would cause a strong reaction from the police and the military. After the Al Qaeda-linked terrorist KLA was pushed back in most of Kosovo and Metohia, the mainstream propaganda machine started running stories about up to 600,000 Albanians “unaccounted for”, obviously implying that Serbs supposedly “killed them all”.
There were also totally fabricated stories about “concentration camps” in which “evil Serbs kept hundreds of thousands of Albanians”, including one at a stadium in the city of Pristina. Obviously, all this was later debunked as nothing more than a bunch of blatant lies after this NATO-orchestrated war was over in June.
However, it didn’t matter whether it was true or not, as long as it galvanized the public in the United States and Europe to support a direct attack on Serbia. On March 24, 1999, NATO sent approximately 1,100 aircraft and 30 naval vessels (including submarines) to attack the country. Its actions were closely coordinated with those of the Albanian KLA on the ground. Thus, Serb/Yugoslav police and the military (VJ) had to fight a terrorist insurgency supported by NATO air power (sounds familiar, doesn’t it). The aggressor forces were commanded by US General Wesley Clark who at some point claimed that “NATO destroyed 60% of [Yugoslav President Slobodan] Milosevic’s war machine”. In reality, independent sources confirmed that only 14 tanks, 18 armored vehicles and 20 artillery pieces were destroyed.
It should also be noted that Serb forces were known for their masterful use of “maskirovka” (literally masking or disguise). Namely, soldiers often made 1:1 scale models of tanks, armored vehicles, air defense systems, fighter jets and other weapon systems to fool NATO ISR (intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance) assets.
Commanding officers not only supported this, but also advised that microwave ovens and similar gadgets (particularly transmitters of radio waves and sources of heat) be placed in these models to mimic the heat of engines. This proved to be incredibly effective, as NATO would regularly mistake such targets for real weapons. Its war planners realized things weren’t adding up after the Serb/Yugoslav forces kept fighting despite being “decimated” on paper.
Air defense systems were particularly effective, especially considering the fact that they were mostly “outdated” according to NATO standards, as most Serb SAM (surface-to-air missile) systems were made in the 1950s and 1960s. However, despite these claims, the “outdated” Russian-made air defenses performed better than anyone could’ve imagined.
Only three days after NATO launched its aggression, on March 27, 1999, the Serb/Yugoslav S-125M “Neva-M” SAM system shot down a USAF F-117A stealth bomber/attack jet (serial number 82-0806, callsign “Vega 31”). The 3rd Battalion of the Yugoslav Army’s 250th Air Defense Missile Brigade, commanded by Colonel Zoltan Dani, achieved a feat that was considered (and touted as) “impossible” by the US military.
For years, the mainstream propaganda machine tried to conceal this embarrassment by claiming that the shootdown was supposedly an “accident” and that “the evil Serbs got lucky”. However, this attempt to negate the heroism and professionalism of Serb/Yugoslav soldiers and officers ended up being an even greater embarrassment for NATO.
Namely, for years, these officers have been claiming that several F-117s were hit over Yugoslavia, providing ample details on when and how this happened. Expectedly, this was vehemently rejected by the political West, as it would dispel the narrative that “Serbs got lucky”. However, over two decades after NATO aggression, American officers who took part in the bombing admitted that at least one more F-117 was hit, but managed to get back to base.
Namely, back in November 2020, retired USAF Lieutenant Colonel Charlie “Tuna” Hainline, a former F-117 pilot, admitted that his wingman was hit by a Serb/Yugoslav air defense system (most likely on April 30, 1999). At the time, Hainline was assigned to the 9th Fighter Squadron, the “Flying Knights,” and deployed to Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany.
According to his account, the second F-117 was also hit by a missile fired from the S-125M “Neva-M” SAM system, this time commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Bosko Dotlic. A highly detailed account of this shootdown was presented by Colonel Slavisa Golubovic, one of the commanding officers of the 3rd Battalion of the 250th Missile Brigade. He also revealed that at least one more F-117 was hit, although NATO is yet to admit this.
However, kinetic warfare was far from the only embarrassment for the world’s most vile racketeering cartel, as evidenced by the revelations of around a dozen retired top-ranking Serbian diplomats, politicians and officers I had the honor of meeting during the 26th commemorative address on March 21.
Organized by the highly reputable Belgrade Forum for a World of Equals, an antiwar nonprofit based in Serbia, the 26th commemoration of NATO aggression was a unique opportunity to hear first-hand accounts of how the political West orchestrated the destruction of former Yugoslavia and what the entire world can learn from it in order to avoid a similar fate. The ceremony was headed by the president of the Belgrade Forum Zivadin Jovanovic, former Foreign Minister of Yugoslavia (1998-2000).
Mr Jovanovic started the conference with a reminder that over 4,000 people have been killed during NATO aggression, with another 12,000 wounded. He also thanked several other organizations that took part in organizing the conference, including the Club of Generals and Admirals (of the Serbian/Yugoslav Army), the Union of WWII Veterans (SUBNOR), the Diaspora for the Motherland Fund, the Association of the Veterans of Military Intelligenceand the Association of the Veterans of Special Police Units.

“Trump’s Attempt to Create Divisions between Russia and China”

https://www.globalresearch.ca/trump-attempt-separate-russia-china-doomed-fail/5883883
by Ahmed Adel
United States President Donald Trump has escalated his global trade war, which especially targets China whilst sparing Russia, likely because it is already the most sanctioned country in the world. Nonetheless, Trump may use tariff and sanction relief promises to turn Russia and China against each other.
China has filed a formal complaint with the World Trade Organization over new tariffs imposed by the US president, while also announcing that it will impose 34 percent tariffs on all goods imported from the North American country starting April 10. Washington imposed 34 percent additional reciprocal tariffs on China, bringing total US tariffs on China to 54 percent.
Trump’s sanctions on China are reminiscent of the collective Western sanctions imposed on Russia since the start of the special military operation in Ukraine, raising the question of whether Russia can reciprocate the economic assistance that China has provided to Russia since 2022. The Russian market, which is substantial, comprises at least 150 million inhabitants with a tendency to grow and a decent purchasing power among the domestic population, can absorb almost all types of consumer goods that are no longer being exported to the US.
Obviously, the Russian market is not a sufficient substitute for the US market, for China, but there are other markets, such as Latin America. Now, through the Belt and Road Initiative, China can relatively cheaply transport goods to even the most distant countries in Latin America, including Brazil and Argentina, which have huge populations.
In addition, there is the vast Indian market, with a population of over a billion and a rapidly growing middle class, as well as the demand of ASEAN countries with which China has excellent cooperation.
China has sufficient shock absorbers to compensate for the US market, as the world has approximately eight billion people, and the US has around 320-330 million inhabitants. In addition, China is powerful enough to support itself in an economic war with the US.
In a relatively short period, China can redirect some of its exports to the US, which are being squeezed out by higher prices and tariffs, to the other aforementioned markets. The world outside the West is becoming increasingly more prosperous, and countries now have sufficient purchasing power to purchase Chinese goods, which remain competitive and, in many cases, very affordable.
This will partially compensate for the lack of demand from the US market.

Trump enacted major tariffs on the entire world last Wednesday, and the stock market crashed over the next two days, with about $5 trillion in losses. Upsetting the world’s billionaires, stocks have continued to be extremely volatile this week.
Brian Becker and Prof. Richard Wolff discuss what Trump’s aims are, what’s coming next, and what it means for our class.

“Trump’s Tariff Issue”

https://www.globalresearch.ca/tariff-issue-paul-c-roberts/5883886
by Paul C. Roberts
The tariff controversy is being colored in the most scary ways possible, because the Democrats, media, and ruling establishment want rid of Trump.
It is also important to understand that tariffs are not the only way to limit imports. There are other means, such as quotas.
Quotas on imports into the US of Japanese cars were part of the US auto producers bailout negotiated in the final year of the Carter administration.
I will attempt to put the issue in a correct perspective. It is not Trump’s intention, at least at the present time, to institutionalize a tariff regime.
Trump is using tariffs as a threat to secure agreements that he thinks are in America’s interests. So far 50 countries have, according to reports, agreed to remove their tariffs on US goods. The countries responding aggressively seem to be China and our European allies. I explained yesterday how Trump could better have gone about his task. Nevertheless, as the Commerce Secretary said, Trump’s tariffs are not expected to extend beyond a few weeks or a few months of negotiation.
During this time there could be supply disruptions. Apparently, Trump is aware and has released an 11-page appendix that exempts all sorts of imported items that US producers require to continue their operations. Whatever disruption does occur, should be small compared to the Covid lockdown supply disruption, the basic cause of the current inflation. The Covid disruption was pointless and counterproductive. The tariff disruption, if there is one, is the cost of establishing a fair and uniform trading system.
So, Trump is not being arbitrary or on a rampage to destroy international trade. Tariff negotiations, especially with so many countries and products can go on for years. Trump might think that he only has two years to get anything done before the Democrats steal the midterm elections and bring his renewal of America to a halt.
President Trump has spoken of tariffs in a wider and much more important context. Over most of American history until the First World War, tariff revenues were the source of government revenues. An income tax was unconstitutional and a violation of freedom. The definition of a free person is a person who owns his own labor. A slave does not own his own labor, and a serf only owns part of his labor. A person required to pay an income tax does not own that part of his labor that he must provide to government in order to avoid imprisonment. The difference between a medieval serf and an American taxpayer is the serf paid the tax in kind as hours worked, and the American pays the tax in money as a percentage of his income.

“German Journalist David Bendels Sentenced for Satirical Post Targeting Interior Minister Nancy Faeser’
https://reclaimthenet.org/german-journalist-david-bendels-sentenced-satirical-meme-nancy-faeser
by Didi Rankovic
German court convicts David Bendels over meme of Nancy Faeser, alarming US free speech advocates amid growing censorship fears.

Faeser holding a sign that reads "Ich hasse die Meinungsfreiheit!"
A district court in Germany has handed down a first-instance, seven months prison sentence to journalist David Bendels, because he in February 2024 published a satirical meme on X – as a form of criticism of Interior Minister Nancy Faeser.
The meme featured an image – a photo montage – of Faeser “holding” a sign reading, “I hate freedom of expression.”
Bendels, who is editor-in-chief of Deutschland-Kurier, then found himself in the dock accused of “defamation against political figures.”
According to the German press, this is the first time a journalist has been found guilty on this type of charge “in the Federal Republic of Germany” – that is, since the end of the Second World War.
However, speech of any kind is only defamatory if it is demonstrably false. And criminal prosecution of journalists who “mock” politicians is taken by many observers as proof that freedom of expression, as the basis of any democracy, is indeed under threat in Germany.
Bendels’ sentence has been suspended for two years, considering that the journalist had no prior criminal record. But the ruling of the Bamberg, Bavaria court also issued an order for Bendels to apologize to Faeser, in writing.
The journalist announced that neither he nor his publication accept the ruling. His legal representatives would appeal against it, it has been revealed.

“Ukraine’s Secret NATO War Room Exposed | Zaluzhnyi Reveals Wiesbaden Command Hub”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQUnHIiCjA0&si=r-xEzAKqKTmLdEGe
by Times Now
(5:18)
Ukraine’s former top commander, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, has confirmed the existence of a covert NATO-backed military command center in Wiesbaden, Germany. Known only to a select few until now, this secret hub has been instrumental in shaping Ukraine’s battlefield strategies against Russia. Originally a logistics outpost in 2022, the Wiesbaden base—located at the U.S. Army’s Clay Kaserne—evolved into a cutting-edge war room coordinating operations with U.S., UK, and NATO partners. From planning counteroffensives in Kharkiv and Kherson to integrating high-tech weaponry like HIMARS, this hidden facility has played a crucial role in Ukraine’s military resilience. Zaluzhnyi’s revelation also comes as geopolitical tensions rise, with Russia accusing NATO of escalating the war and the U.S. under President Trump sending mixed signals on future support. Why is Zaluzhnyi speaking now? Is this a move to reinforce Western commitment—or a bid to shape his legacy as a wartime strategist?

Hamas is petitioning a UK court to remove its designation as a terrorist organization, arguing it is a resistance movement against the "Zionist project." In a legal statement, Hamas admitted to seeking Israel's destruction but claimed its October 7, 2023 attacks targeted only military sites—not civilians. Israel and international observers strongly dispute that, citing mass civilian casualties and kidnappings, including of British nationals. Hamas' legal team is working pro bono, arguing UK terror laws are applied selectively.

“America’s War Against China”

https://www.globalresearch.ca/american-war-against-china/5884099
by
In 1997, a group of future members of George W. Bush’s administration co-signed onto the “Project for the New American Century.“ The statement of its core principles declared:
“we need to accept responsibility for America’s unique role in preserving and extending an international order friendly to our security, our prosperity, and our principles.“
In the following years, the Bush administration in the Middle East occupied Iraq using fabricated allegations of its development of weapons of mass destruction and in the following years attacked other Middle Eastern countries.
In 2023, the U.S. Republican Party published a book titled “Project 2025,” outlining its policy agenda for the 2024 presidential election. The 922-page book mentioned China 483 times. It stated:
By far, the greatest danger to the security, freedom, and prosperity of Americans is China… China seeks to achieve a dominant position in Asia and, based on that position, global dominance. If Beijing succeeds in this goal, it could dramatically undermine America’s most fundamental interests, including restricting U.S. access to the world’s most important markets. Preventing this from happening must be the highest priority of U.S. foreign and defense policy… It is no longer certain that America holds an information and technological advantage. China’s progress and intense focus on emerging technologies have, in some areas, shifted it from a near-peer competitor to likely surpassing the U.S… The United States must ensure that China does not succeed… U.S. defense strategy must clearly identify China as the top priority for American defense planning.
The Chinese threat to American global dominance was undoubtedly on President Joe Biden’s mind already when he insisted on rejecting Russia’s demand for Western guarantees that Ukraine would not join NATO. He was fully aware that this would provoke Russia into attacking Ukraine, dragging it into a war where the U.S. and its allies could support Ukraine and strip Russia of its status as a world power. In doing so, he completely disregarded the fact that parts of Ukraine identified with Russia and have no desire to join the EU or NATO.
The Russia-China alliance had been obstructing the U.S. from completing its domination of the Middle East and its oil reserves, which were vital to much of the industrial world— if the USA controlled those reserves, they would control as well the countries importing them for their industry. To finalize this plan and weaken the Russo-Chinese bloc, the U.S. needed Russia’s defeat in Ukraine to pave the way. That’s why Joe Biden rejected Moscow’s demands for Western assurances against NATO expansion, which would have prevented NATO nuclear weapons from being stationed within a 10-minute flight from Moscow.
He knew this would push the world to the brink of global war, but he gambled on the hope that, after weakening Russia, the U.S. could eventually subdue China as well. However, Russia-China cooperation has severely complicated this American ambition. Russia began gaining the upper hand in the Ukraine war, and the hope of a U.S. (and EU-backed) victory over the Russo-Chinese bloc has been fading.
The new U.S. President, Donald Trump, therefore decided to shift America’s strategy—turning the U.S. war against Russia and China into a U.S. and Russia alliance against China. However, the only chance for this strategy to succeed was to cede at least the Russian-speaking parts of Ukraine to Russia, block NATO’s expansion to Russia’s borders with Ukraine, and thus eliminate the threat of Russia losing a nuclear war with the West. In other words, it meant preserving Russia’s status as a global power—a status the U.S. had been undermining through its actions in Ukraine. With this goal in mind, Donald Trump initiated negotiations with Russia.
Russia, likely weary of the conditions China had imposed in exchange for its support, entered the talks with a dual risk: it could lose Chinese backing but also held out hope that China might unconditionally increase its support. If Russia were to lose China’s support, it would become an easy prey for the U.S.
Vladimir Putin announced on April 1, 2025 that his most esteemed guest at the celebrations for the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II would be Xi Jinping. He invited him to the celebrations, stating that he would prepare for him a “nice and rich” program and that he would be “our main guest,” and that he planned to discuss mutual relations and cooperation in international organizations, including the UN, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and BRICS. This indicated to both Trump and Xi Jinping that Putin could still return to an alliance with China. The continuation of the conflict between the alliance of Russia with China against the alliance of the USA with the EU posed a dangerous threat of a world war.
Ukrainian army captured two Chinese soldiers on April 8, 2025, who were fighting in the Russian army. In the face of such an alliance, the EU, in conjunction with the USA, and possibly Great Britain and Australia, has no hope. A global conventional and subsequently nuclear war between these factions could only destroy life on this planet.
|
The ideal solution for all parties involved would be to reach an agreement, instead of a world war, to end the struggle for global power by creating a democratic United Nations, where decisions regarding potential military interventions against aggressors would be made by a majority vote of states, and military organizations like NATO, which attempt to seize global power for one state or a group of states, would be abolished. |

“Steve Kirsch Claims He Has ‘The Inside Scoop’ About RFK Jr.'s Surface Level Party Line Speak On MMR For ‘Measles’”
by Celia Farber
"Has RFK Gone Rogue" His Piece Asks—Comments Mostly Support Support And Patience, But Some Are Never Returning To The Fold
I claimed it, the Steve Kirsch Substack, as my one free post, read it, took screen shots, and tried repeatedly to download them, and cross post the essence of this piece by Kirsch.
After an hour, I gave up—instead I can direct you to do the same, go to Kirsch’s Substack linked below, claim your free post, and there you can read it.
I think “Inside Scoop” was overplayed.
No sources, named or unnamed, very vague, no details.
What I see: Kirsch got The Phone Call, and was essentially asked to tell people to stay calm, and know that RFK Jr. is playing the long game, has his reasons, has a strategy, the new CDC Director is sound, etc etc. We have heard this before.
My beef is this:
A) If this was so important, as wartime messaging, why couldn't the very wealthy Steve Kirsch make it free content?
B) Why doesn't Kirsch have a paid professional editor who could tell him this does not meet the journalistic definition of a “scoop” since it lacks sources, named or unnamed, lack details, and is essentially a “calm down” message that is sent long after the horse has left the barn.
How are those whose children were killed supposed to feel? Was it that hard to craft a special message for them?
RFK Jr.’s people are AWFUL at messaging. Which also means: They don’t care.
If you want to stick a fork in something, make it the newly sprung professional class known as the “medical freedom movement.” Worse still, whoever is doing RFK Jr.’s PR. It’s comes close, at times, to pure sabotage.
They now want to make easy calls to select big shots (no insult to Kirsch but that is his category,) and hope to re-engineer “trust” in everybody who just had their trust detonated, unless they are adept at quadraphonic messaging with no core.
I hope you can tell who I am most upset with: The inner circle, the PR team, the “handlers” etc. As Candace Owens put it, “…whoever is writing RFK Jr.’s tweets.”
The reason I am so angry is that it all betrays such an out of touch elitism, which ignores and minimizes the needs of the very people who are the salt-of-the-earth support base, many of whom have suffered indescribable horrors.
I understand real-politik—strategy, long game. But I don’t understand willful, clumsy, traumatic messaging for already traumatized people.
I’m still not in the category of wishing to throw RFK Jr. under any kind of bus.
Instead, I want to purge and re-staff his public relations department.
Crankily,
Celia

Elon Musk was born in 1971 in Johannesburg, South Africa, and raised in a wealthy family under the country's racist apartheid laws. Musk's family history reveals ties to apartheid and neo-Nazi politics. We speak with Chris McGreal, reporter for The Guardian, to understand how Musk's upbringing shaped his worldview, as well as that of his South African-raised colleague Peter Thiel, a right-wing billionaire who co-founded PayPal alongside Musk. "Musk lived what can only be described as a neocolonial life," said McGreal. "If you were a white South African in that period and you had any money at all, you lived with servants at your beck and call."
