The first segment delves into the beginnings of this liberal faction,
focusing on 1967, when anti-Vietnam fervor sweeps the United States and invigorates the political debate.

Abstracts
Abstract (Eng): The reception of Le Fond de l’air est rouge (Grin Without a Cat) by Chris. Marker (1978-2008) turned the film into an emblem of May ’68,
which is given much attention, but only to propose an analysis full of contrasts. In this film, which remembers the “red years”,
Marker puts the political commitment of his generation into perspective and tackles the problem of the relationship between
the French movements and the struggles of the Third World.
The solidarity as expressed by French militants seldom goes beyond a statement of principles and the fascination for revolutions abroad is a substitute for a disappointing local situation.
Le Fond de l’air est rouge however pays tribute to the spirit of May ’68, in particular in its collective modes of realization and enunciation, which allow a new definition of the committed artwork in the “era of suspicion”.

“War Is Creeping Up On Us. ‘What do the Russians Think of Putin’.”

Gilbert Doctorow is a thoughtful and well-informed commentator on the challenges with which the West confronts Putin.
In his most recent postings, he asks and answers the questions, “What do the Russians think of Putin? Does his war of attrition strategy today enjoy support? Or do Russians want to end the War as quickly as possible by a decapitation strike on Kiev?”
Judging by the discussion on controlled Russian state television, Doctorow concludes that the thinking class, the top echelons of power, sees another major Western escalation on its way with the provision of long range nuclear capable missiles to Ukraine along with $140 billion euros in stolen Russian assets. This will prolong the conflict for several years while Europe builds up its war fighting capability. The alternative of an Oreshnik strike on Kiev that would end Ukraine’s fighting ability looks to be the better choice. In short, the conflict has gone on too long. Time to bring it to an end. But can Putin bite the bullet and end the conflict with a victory?
Having watched Putin’s address to the Valdai Discussion Club, Doctorow concludes by choosing to ignore the new and increasing threats the West is presenting to Russia and relying instead on good relations with Trump, Putin has brought himself a big problem of his own making.
Doctorow goes on to say:
“I have over the past year spoken very critically of Paul Craig Roberts for his repeated denunciations of Putin as the man leading us to WWIII by his constantly turning the other cheek and allowing Russia’s red lines to be crossed. Now, regrettably, I admit that PCR was right. Yesterday at the Valdai Club Putin lost my respect and I think I am not the only one who understood that he is showing cowardice. The biggest loudmouth Russophobe on Capitol Hill, Senator Lindsey Graham must be sipping champagne right now.
“After all, the whole sense of the Oreshniks is that they can get the job done without opening the Pandora’s box of tactical nukes. And yet Putin has just pulled up his own red lines with respect to American long-range missiles being supplied to Kiev. A year ago, his policy line was that the supplier of the missiles and the provider of all the target input necessary to operate the rockets (USA) would be considered a co-belligerent, inviting a Russian missile strike in response. And what did we hear yesterday? That these missiles do not change the situation on the battlefield. That is a barefaced lie.
“The do or die moment for Russia is fast approaching. And with Putin in charge, it looks like ‘die.’
“I say this as an outsider. After all, it is for the Russians to decide who governs them and they need no coaching from us. But I – and you – are bystanders whose survivability on this planet depends on Russia’s leader making the right decisions. His apparent belief yesterday that ingratiating himself with Donald Trump is more important than publicly and forthrightly defending Russia’s red lines against what Trump and Merz and Starmer and Macron and Ursula von der Leyen are plotting puts us on a direct path to WWIII.”
Reading Doctorow’s comments on Putin’s Valdai speech, I get the impression that Putin and Lavrov have chosen to evade reality rather than to confront it. I am unsure I would do any better when the reality is nuclear war. But it doesn’t have to be nuclear war. Putin has had the soft voice but not the big stick. Consequently, the Kremlin seems irresolute and vulnerable. Here are Doctorow’s comments. Read them and make up your own mind.
“Good Americans, bad Europeans: Putin’s latest policy position in a nutshell
“Yesterday I commented on President Putin’s speech to the Valdai Discussion Club gathering in Sochi, saying that it ignored the new and very serious threats that the USA and Europe are presenting to Russia and only repeated the now stale litany of Putin remarks on how the confrontation with the USA and NATO developed from the 1990s to today and how the new world order is unfolding with the support of the Global South.
“Actually, the speech was worse than I described.
“It was crystal clear from the speech and from his answers in the Q&A that Vladimir Putin is desperately seeking to keep Trump on his side for the sake of normalization of relations, whatever it takes. By doing so, one might reason, Russia will tame the Europeans who have to back down in the face of a US-Russian fait accompli.
“It is only in this light that I can explain Putin’s very strange decision to publicly support the Trump 20-point ‘peace plan’ for Gaza that still awaits Hamas approval. True, he adds the condition that Israel must recognize the two-state solution. But that condition gets lost in the bigger fact that yesterday Putin spoke approvingly of Trump’s naming Tony Blair to join the planned colonial style Peace Board that Trump himself will head to govern Gaza and Palestine until a suitable self-governing force emerges from some reformed Palestinian Administration. Tony Blair, the unindicted war criminal who encouraged and enabled the murderous, illegal U.S. invasion of Iraq. This same Tony Blair was described by Putin yesterday as a very experienced statesman in whose residence he had spent a day or more at the start of the new millennium, had shared coffee while both were still in their pajamas.
“I believe that Putin is ignoring the obvious fact that Donald Trump has only contempt for those who try to ingratiate themselves with him. In this regard, Putin’s remarks yesterday have done Russia far more harm than good.
“Meanwhile, on the sidelines, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has compounded the damage to Russia’s standing by his latest interviews dealing with the question of U.S. supplied Tomahawks to Kiev. One such interview may be watched in English here.
“Lavrov is talking nonsense. If Tomahawks end up in Ukraine IT WILL CHANGE THE MILITARY SITUATION. Here again, a leading spokesman for Russia is talking nonsense because the Kremlin is trying to differentiate between the bad Europeans and the good Americans.
“Not only are the Tomahawks a serious challenge to Russia’s air defenses because they are nuclear capable and may be carriers of a first nuclear strike intended to be a knock-out blow, but the handover of such missiles to Kiev clears the way for Germany’s Chancellor Merz to do what he has wanted to do from the moment he took office, to deliver German Taurus missiles to the Ukrainians. Merz was insisting that the USA go through the door first before he would act.
“The American Tomahawks represent 40-year-old technology and so may be shot down by Russian air defenses from the very first salvo, but such interceptions are never 100% perfect. Meanwhile, the German Taurus is very modern in design and could do a great deal of damage before the Russians find effective counter measures.
“All in all, given the rising threats to Russia coming from Europe which the Russian President is doing nothing to answer directly by setting out clearly Moscow’s counter threats, the prospects for Russia winning in its confrontation with the West have received a serious setback by the Kremlin’s decision to bet all on good relations with Trump.”

According to Netanyahu:

Let us be clear. These deceitful money payments are NOT in support of Hamas as a Palestinian political entity involved in the Resistance Movement. Quite the opposite.
· What is at stake is an insidious intelligence op, in support of so-called “intelligence assets” within Hamas.
· What is at stake is a carefully planned False Flag Agenda which from the outset on October 7, 2023, upholds Hamas as the alleged “Aggressor” against the people of Israel.
· What is the truth, what is the lie?. The Netanyahu government and its Ministry of Intelligence from the very outset have “blood on their hands”. They are responsible for Israeli deaths resulting from the False Flag agenda.

Hamas (Harakat al-Muqawama al-Islamiyya) (Islamic Resistance Movement), was founded in 1987 by Sheik Ahmed Yassin. It was supported at the outset by Israeli intelligence as a means to weaken the Palestinian Authority:

This incisive article by the late Professor Tanya Reinhart was first published on Global Research 24 years ago in December 2001.
Tanya Reinhart was a professor of linguistics at Tel Aviv University. She was a staunch critic of the illegal occupation of Palestinian lands by Israel. Her legacy will live.
Already in October 2000, at the outset of the Palestinian uprising, military circles were ready with detailed operative plans to topple Arafat and the Palestinian Authority. This was before the Palestinian terror attacks started. (The first attack on Israeli civilians was on November 3, 2000, in a market in Jerusalem).
A document prepared by the security services, at the request of then PM Barak, stated on October 15, 2000 that
“Arafat, the person, is a severe threat to the security of the state [of Israel] and the damage which will result from his disappearance is less than the damage caused by his existence”. (Details of the document were published in Ma’ariv, July 6, 2001.)
The operative plan, known as ‘Fields of Thorns’ had been prepared back in 1996, and was then updated during the Intifada. (Amir Oren, Ha’aretz, Nov. 23, 2001). The plan includes everything that Israel has been executing lately, and more.(1)
The political echelon for its part (Barak’s circles), worked on preparing public opinion to the toppling of Arafat. On November 20, 2000, Nahman Shai, then public-affairs coordinator of the Barak Government, released in a meeting with the press, a 60 page document titled “Palestinian Authority non-compliance… A record of bad faith and misconduct”,
The document, informally referred to as the “White Book”, was prepared by Barak’s aid, Danny Yatom.(2) According to the “White Book”, Arafat’s present crime – “orchestrating the Intifada”, is just the last in a long chain of proofs that he has never deserted the “option of violence and ‘struggle'”.
“As early as Arafat’s own speech on the White House lawn, on September 13, 1993, there were indications that for him, the D.O.P. [declaration of principles] did not necessarily signify an end to the conflict. He did not, at any point, relinquish his uniform, symbolic of his status as a revolutionary commander” (Section 2). This uniform, incidentally, is the only ‘indication’ that the report cites, of Arafat’s hidden intentions, on that occasion.
A large section of the document is devoted to establishing Arafat’s “ambivalence and compliance” regarding terror.
“In March 1997 there was once again more than a hint of a ‘Green Light’ from Arafat to the Hamas, prior to the bombing in Tel Aviv… This is implicit in the statement made by a Hamas-affiliated member of Arafat’s Cabinet, Imad Faluji, to an American paper (Miami Herald, April 5, 1997).”
No further hints are provided regarding how this links Arafat to that bombing, but this is the “green light to terror” theme which the Military Intelligence (Ama”n) has been promoting since 1997, when its anti-Oslo line was consolidated. This theme was since repeated again and again by military circles, and eventually became the mantra of Israeli propaganda – Arafat is still a terrorist and is personally responsible for the acts of all groups, from Hamas and the Islamic Jihad to Hizbollah.

The new owner of Paramount, David Ellison, participated in an Israeli government-led plot to surveil and suppress pro-Palestine activists in the US, leaked emails show. Originally dubbed “12 Tribes,” a reference to the dozen Jewish billionaires solicited to underwrite the operation, the scheme sought out American faces to fund surveillance firms run by Israeli intelligence veterans on behalf of Tel Aviv, as it targeted American citizens participating in the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
The emails documenting the foreign influence campaign to counter BDS were first identified by journalist Jack Poulson, who discovered them in a trove leaked by the Handala hacking collective in 2024. The files show former Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz was tasked with recruiting wealthy Westerners to fund surveillance firms operated by Israeli intelligence veterans as they stalked and harassed people whom the government of Israel suspected of harboring pro-Palestinian sympathies.
In the emails, Hollywood talent agency executive Adam Berkowitz identified Ellison as “very interested” in “helping out with [undermining] the BDS movement.” Berkowitz introduced Ellison to the Israeli general in a group email: “Benny meet david. David meet Benny,” Berkowitz wrote on December 23, 2015, explaining that he “told david briefly about your [Gantz’s] 12 tribe idea which you can expound on to him which he seemed very interested in.”
Two days later, Ellison replied, “Mr Gantz it is a pleasure to meet you over e-mail. I very much look forward to discussing everything you are working on, and in the mean time hope you are enjoying the holiday season.” He added, “I will be back in LA on January 3rd and look forward to connecting in the New Year.”
A planning spreadsheet names other Zionist billionaires sought for the Israeli effort. They included David’s father, Oracle founder and Friends of the IDF board member Larry Ellison; Israeli-American billionaire and top Democratic Party sugar daddy Haim Saban; and Google founder Sergey Brin, whose “Israel-support” was still “tbd.” One of those named, Canadian bookchain owner Heather Reissman, had “already agreed” to donate.

How a Brutal Interception at Sea Mirrors the Daily Reality of Life Under Occupation.
Author’s Note: This essay argues that the Israeli assault on the Gaza flotilla was not an isolated incident of maritime interception. It was a public demonstration of the same carceral system used to control Palestinian life. By seizing civilians in international waters and processing them through its network of interrogation centers and prisons — the very same facilities that hold political leaders like Marwan Barghouti, Khalida Jarrar, and Ahmad Saadat — Israel revealed a brutal consistency. The flotilla passengers were granted a temporary, harrowing visa into the architecture of occupation; for Palestinians, this is not a glimpse, but a permanent reality. The violence at sea and the violence in the cell are part of a single, unified system of control.

The Israeli naval assault on the 2025 Global Sumud Flotilla did more than intercept three civilian ships. It forcibly inserted an international cohort of activists into the physical and juridical machinery that grinds down Palestinian life. This was a deliberate, public demonstration of a system built on capture, forced confessions, and broken bodies, a system enforced by state power and designed to produce coerced silence.
I have used the word “system” throughout this essay. Let this repetition not obscure its meaning. I am describing the juridically encoded apparatus of ethnic cleansing, apartheid, and genocidal violence that constitutes the settler-colonial project of the so-called Jewish state of Israel. These are not rhetorical flourishes — they are legal realities, documented in international law, by human rights organizations, and in the lived archive of Palestinian resistance.

Sauf qu’au fil des années, la crainte de celui qu’on appelait un temps le coronavirus a fondu. Les pénuries de masques, de doses de vaccin, de gel hydroalcoolique ou de tests de dépistage font partie de l’histoire ancienne. Mais le Covid-19 est toujours là. En ce début d’automne, il revient même sur le devant de la scène avec un nom qui tape : le variant Frankenstein.
En France, la reprise épidémique reste modérée mais s’accélère. La semaine du 15 au 21 septembre, le taux d’incidence des cas de Covid-19 était estimé à 48 cas pour 100.000 habitants, contre 38 cas la semaine précédente selon le réseau Sentinelles. Un taux qui a sans doute bondi depuis, à en croire les pharmaciens. « Il y a une vraie recrudescence, on le voit, surtout depuis une semaine », reconnaît Fabienne, préparatrice en pharmacie à Rennes.
Quelques pénuries de tests
Pas surprenant. La Bretagne était la région française où le taux d’incidence était le plus élevé il y a dix jours. Dans ce contexte, on voit que la demande en autotests repart à la hausse. Au point que dans certaines pharmacies, on assiste à de brèves ruptures de stock. « D’habitude, je commande ceux qui sont fabriqués en France. Mais là, ils n’en avaient plus. Je suis passée par un autre fournisseur », poursuit la préparatrice. Même constat quelques centaines de mètres plus loin. « Il m’en reste une quinzaine mais c’est vrai que ça part plus vite. On a des gens malades ou des gens qui connaissent quelqu’un qui a le Covid. »

The two pillars upon which the entire edifice of vaccinology rest are that vaccines are safe and effective.
We are told by our medical and federal authorities, physicians, pharmacists and health care practitioners that vaccines work by stimulating the body’s immune system to create specific antibodies. These antibodies in turn will protect us from the infectious disease specific to a given vaccine.
This central premise is virtually never challenged. Hundreds of millions of Americans simply accept that all vaccines are scientifically proven to confer immunity against disease. However, independent research presented for each major vaccine raises serious questions that challenge the concept of antibody generation as a reliable factor to assure viral and bacterial immunity.
The Decline of Epidemic Diseases: Getting to the Truth
The dramatic decline of infectious disease mortality during the 19th and 20th centuries is often attributed primarily to vaccines. However, historical and epidemiological research consistently shows that mortality from measles, diphtheria, whooping cough, tuberculosis, and other major pathogens began to fall long before vaccines were widely introduced. Instead, sanitation, proper sewage disposal, clean water, improved nutrition, indoor plumbing, less-crowded living conditions, elimination of child labor and better hygiene were the real reasons that infectious rates waned.
The earliest evidence comes from the work of Thomas McKeown and his colleagues in the 1960s, who showed that improved living standards, and in particular better nutrition, accounted for most of the mortality reductions in England and Wales during the 19th century.[1] Clean water and sewage disposal systems also played a decisive role in the control and demise of typhoid fever, as documented in early public health reforms, which was documented in 1908.[2] These findings laid the foundation for what would become known as the “McKeown thesis.” Subsequent studies further confirm and expand this perspective.
Analyses of US mortality trends show that the steepest declines in infectious disease deaths occurred well before mass immunization programs during the first half of the 20th century. Later studies demonstrate that public health measures such as sanitation, clean water, and hygiene were the most significant contributors to these trends.[3] For example, two researchers, Cutler and Miller, published quantitative evidence that in the US water purification alone explained nearly half of the decline of infectious disease in urban mortality.[4]
In addition, the introduction of antibiotics further accelerated mortality declines. Diseases such as tuberculosis and pneumonia, which were once leading causes of death, dropped rapidly following the availability of sulfa drugs and penicillin; this was confirmed by a 2015 mega-analyses known as Population Health Metrics.[5] More important, however, is the Nobel Laureate Sir Angus Deaton’s sweeping historical overview reinforcing the theory that medical technology and innovations, such as vaccines, only mattered after baseline improvements in nutrition and sanitation associated with poverty and poor living conditions had greatly reduced disease severity.[6]
More recent reviews continue to support McKeown’s narrative, including further evidence highlighting the links between social and economic conditions to long-term declines in infectious disease mortality.[7] If we are to be intellectually honest, while immunization has had a notable impact, it is just one tool in a broader context of public health, where clean water, sanitation, proper nutrition and healthy foods, antibiotics and a variety of other non-pharmaceutical interventions continue to save more lives globally.[8]
Taken together, this body of evidence demonstrates that vaccines were not the original cause of the great declines in infectious disease mortality. Instead, the data reveal a layered historical process: first, sanitation, nutrition, and hygiene; then, antibiotics and better medical care; and only afterward, vaccines adding further protection. Understanding this chronology helps us appreciate the full spectrum of public health progress—and ensures we do not overlook the fundamental role of living conditions in protecting human health.
The following graphs show that large drops in disease death rates occurred long before vaccines were introduced. From 1900 to 1963, when the measles vaccine was introduced, death rates from measles had declined from 13.3 per 100,000 to 0.2 per 100,000, or a 98% decrease. From 1900 to 1949, death rates from whooping cough declined from 12.2 per 100,000 to 0.5 per 100,000 (96% decrease). From 1900 to 1949, death rates from diphtheria declined from 40.3 per 100,000 to 0.4 per 100,000 (99%). These graphs demonstrate clear and major changes in the severity of diseases well before any vaccines were introduced.[9] . . . .

This Order and Declaration is intended to have immediate worldwide effect.”
The Indigenous Nations (A.I.N.) International Tribunal has nation to nation status recognized by the Canadian government. The Indigenous Nations (A.I.N.) International Tribunal is the first governing body and judicial authority in the world to issue an ORDER declaring the MRNA nanoparticle injections biological and technological weapons of mass destruction.
It is unclear what the international legal ramifications of this ORDER will be. The ORDER also states:
“As such colonial systems have only served to perpetuate the injustice of what can only be seen as a planned and executed murder and depopulation of mankind around the world. A roving reporter who covered Italy’s top politicians explains to The Grayzone how his country was reduced to a joint US-Israeli “aircraft carrier,” and raises troubling questions about an Israeli role in the killing of Prime Minister Aldo Moro.
For years, Israel’s Mossad monitored and secretly influenced a violent communist faction that carried out the March 16, 1978 kidnapping and murder of Italian statesman Aldo Moro, veteran investigative journalist Eric Salerno has documented.
Having worked closely alongside multiple Italian heads of state during his 30-year career as a correspondent, Salerno published an expose of their secret relationship with Israeli intelligence in 2010 called Mossad Base Italy.
The reporter told The Grayzone that Moro, who was arguably Italy’s most important leader, became a thorn in the side of powerful forces who sought to keep his country firmly lodged in the pro-Western bloc. Salerno believes Italy’s long-term foreign policy would have developed differently if Moro had survived, adding, “that’s what they were afraid of in the United States.”
Moro was kidnapped in 1978 by the radical Brigate Rosse, or Red Brigades faction, in a daring and highly-professional daytime operation which left all but one of his bodyguards dead. He was executed two months later. The still-unresolved case shocked the nation, and remains a deeply unsettling chapter in the period of intelligence intrigues and political terrorism known by Italians as The Years of Lead.
For some of Italy’s most knowledgeable sources, the crimes bore strong similarities to those of Operation Gladio, a covert effort which saw the CIA, MI6 and NATO train and direct a shadow army of fascist paramilitary units across Europe that carried out false flag terror attacks, robberies, and assassinations aimed at neutralizing the socialist left.
Moro, who belonged to the progressive wing of the Christian Democrat Party and served five terms as prime minister, threatened to upend the traditional postwar order in Italy by forging a “compromesso storico” (historic compromise) with the Italian Communist Party. “It was something that probably part of the Italian political establishment was afraid of, even in his own party,” Salerno notes.
While this part of Moro’s history is well known among Italians, Salerno has documented a less understood aspect of his legacy: his arrangement with Palestinian resistance groups, likely mediated by Libyan President Moammar Gaddafi, which allowed the PLO and others to smuggle weapons and travel freely through Italy in exchange for the country itself being spared from terror attacks. That deal, which scholars consider to be an evolving and “dynamic process,” came to be known as the “Lodo Moro.”
The pact is widely believed to have been forged in 1973, during Moro’s tenure as foreign minister, when Italy secretly released a group of Palestinian fighters who sought to attack a plane belonging to Israel’s El Al airline as it departed from Rome’s Fiumicino airport. It was spurred in large part by Italy’s desire to maintain a level of independence from the US-led Western bloc, which was targeted by an oil embargo in retaliation for Washington’s support for Israel in the 1973 Arab-Israeli War.
