Subject: FROM GRENOBLE, FRANCE, ON THE LAST DAY OF THE MAYAN CALENDAR.

21 December 2012

Dear Colleagues and Friends of CEIMSA,
On this the last day of the Mayan calendar, The Center for the Advanced Study of American Institutions and Social Movements is happy to send you, in cooperation with the California Federation of Teachers and our friends in Hollywood, California, greetings from the end of time in Grenoble, with a Fairy Tale recounting how it is that we have arrived at this ominous moment in American society.

Lest we forget, handsome bonuses and hefty salary raises are the rules of the game for those corporatists who are able to successfully implement so-called “austerity measures” in their institutions. (Some people call it intensifying labor exploitation.) They sometimes get away with murder; they usually make off like bandits and retire early --it’s an old tactics, tried and proven time and time again. It works . . . !

" LIKE LIVING IN HELL "

Hieronymus Bosch described it (1450-1516) ...

King Leopold Of Belgium implemented it in the Congo (1884-1908) . . .

The California Federation of Teachers is re-analyzing this monstrosity, in preparation for more effective collective resistance (2012-2013) . . .
